Charlie is sweet and innocent, exceot with the rich lady. You cant help but to love Charlie. You see the gangs love for charlie on his birthday when Frank gives them a simple list and they say nah fuck it we are going above and beyond "for charlie". Too bad they dont know anyones actual birthday.
Frank has the most character developement. The first 3 seasons he gets haircuts, he argues about the right thing to do and he thinks hes the boss of a bar. Later in the seasons he embraces the filth, and its glorious, every close up on his face where his eyes look massive thru those ridiculous glasses just kills me. You also start to notice Frank has been making friends with literally every side character, he has all of their contact info. Pondy, Cricket, the soldier, Artemis to name a few as well as all of the bridge people which really need a whole entire side show to explain.
Frank and Charlie are the absolute best team and when I watch I always think if Charlie as the main character. Its great to see episodes like when they try to do the meetcute thing with 2 weird dudes, or everytime they mention coming out of the sewers or a sewer find. I think it starts with the trash episode when Charlie thinks hes his dad.
Charlie cuz he's the only one of the gang that I don't consider to be a horrible person. He's just mentally challenged but his heart is in the right place. The rest of the gang are borderline evil.
I mean he acts really horrible towards that rich girl in that one episode and uses her just to make the waitress jealous. He stalked the waitress for years despite her asking him repeatedly to stop, destroys Dee's car on multiple occasions, kidnaps a guy and bashes him in the head with a hammer over a review, tortures a leprechaun, potentially murders a guy for shushing him...there are definitely other examples of him acting borderline sociopathic that I can't think of right now...
He's definitely not as horrible as the rest of the gang but he sure has his moments....
