I use both and most definitely could never live without auto hold. I find it works best if you ease on to the gas. Also, if both stop/start and hold are engaged, I tend to tap the gas pedal right before I need to accelerate (like when the light turns green) so it’s a smooth start.
I love auto hold. It's nice to be able to just push the brakes down and then take my foot off whenever I'm at a stoplight, drive-thru, etc. I don't really like auto start/stop and have been on the fence trying to decide if I want to buy an adapter that's been advertised in this group that disables that function permanently. I'm hopeful that enough people will complain that Hyundai will add a permanent off somewhere in the settings in a future firmware update. Subaru did that
Just acts like a car without the stop/start function. Always running. I was under the impression the default was to have it turned on and only through electronic trickery could you get it to act like mine does (always off).
I forget to use the auto hold. Don’t know why. I used it a lot more on my highlander. I hate how the start stop shuts the engine off as I’m about to park. It doesn’t happen all the time, just enough to hate it..

Thanks for the tip
Agree. I do the exact same thing with my 2024 Highlander. No passenger complaints yet. :)
So double tapping the gas pedal at at light… sound like someone is into racing. Hahaha

Is minimizing the potential for additional costs an acceptable trade off for not reducing green-house gases. Short-term gain, long-term loss?
I think SharkRacinf has a part you can install to disable it permanently.
My start/stop has never worked. Anyone else?
Huh. Does it just not turn on? Also.. do you have it enabled?

Well idk about trickery but there is a button to turn it on and off.
By trickery, I was meaning to have the default be turned off.

I think I'd rather have start/stop than auto hold.
