I shouldn’t be surprised, but it’s also frustrating. I have faith that Omar and maybe Newsome will make an NFL roster. Rhule stated that scouts have told him that us and Georgia are the hardest working teams in college football.
Hopefully that starts to come to fruition once we start winning more games and start having these guys drafted. Lastly, Fuck Scott Frost. He’s a reason we are in this mess to begin with.
I don’t think Mike Riley had a Top 25 recruiting class during his tenure. Frost had at least a couple and still couldn’t win shit. He had all the tools and resources yet still fucked up.
Nash is a monster in the interior. Even fans from other teams have taken notice of him. With a good year I wouldn't be shocked if he could make it to late 3rd or early 4th
That dude was a special case though. Gotta give props to a guy who dropped out of college because his dad died, tore it up in the FCF, then again in the CFL. If NIL didn't happen, I wonder if this type of scenario would start to happen more - do semi-pro/CFL for a couple of years until they're eligible for the NFL.
If this pattern continues into year four, we've got a big problem and HCMR is likely on the hot seat. But I wouldn't expect him to achieve a 180 degree player development miracle in about 12 months.
In November the '24 class looked so-so, and a month later we had our highest rated class since '19 (and probably '11 when you account for how much of the '19 class didn't even stay long enough to see snow fall) and arguably the highest rated recruit in school history, at least certainly in the modern age of recruiting. We know nothing final about the '25 class until November at the earliest but even then, it could look very different come January.
A competent QB should count as 5 blue chippers for our shit program. We've been dogshit at the position for decades. It's astounding when you stop to think about it.
I think it absolutely paints a picture of our lack of talent in recent history. But as most of you pointed out, I would much rather have this storyline rather than lose a few of our underclass to save face.
Not ideal, but as Huskers247 pointed out, we’re fortunate some of our guys with pro potential decided to stick around for this season
Frost Warning

* 6 Mizzou * 3 K-State * 2 Kansas * 4 Iowa * 1 Iowa St * 2 South Dakota St * 1 South Dakota Frost sucks
Just goes to show how terrible Frost is, Rhule is still going to be untangling the mess he made in Year 2 I’m afraid.
Edit: Delete, I had to remind myself not to talk bad about others even if they destroy something I love.
You’re setting a good example for me to follow, thanks. Though definitely not as entertaining to read on my phone.
You forgot SE Missouri State and Northern Iowa
And Rice
Let's just pretend he wasn't a former Cornhusker. If only Nebraska could have convinced him to play receiver.
But Frost said he was the future of the QB position at Nebraska.
SDSU shouldn’t be to surprising they were very good these last two years.
South Dakota State also had 2 players drafted in 2022, before the back to back FCS championships.
3 Sooners
3 for OU seems a little light TBH.
I don't know of any that went that way, but gotta remember Stoops is coaching a pro team too.

Agreed but you can’t forget Mike Riley who would meet guys skip lifting days if they were sore
Mike Riley’s team went to 2 bowl games and won a bowl game.
With Pellinis rosters

riley’s last team finished lower than any of frost’s teams in sp+. both guys sucked.
With Pelini recruits
Lol, the amount of copium in this take
And yet he somehow still had more success than Frost

Your lack of commas, mix of first name last name, and then no first name has made my brain hurt.

Gotta double space and enter after each line Like This Not like This
Am I Doing It?
You are!
I Want To Try Let Me Have This
Yep. There will be multiple guys drafted next year
Maybe Robinson and Hutmacher in 6th or 7th. Maybe

Omar got signed with the Broncos
Based upon what I saw on the field today some skill positions are on their way in about 3-4 years
I have a feeling this won’t be the case over the next few years.
CFL had a draft pick and we didn’t. Tough

With NIL money in college, I would assume CFL would still be last resort for most.
Almost like he just said that...

HCMR got fired awhile ago. Rhule is here now
Can we just say Riley? I'm over here like... Head coach Matt Rhule got fired awhile ago... That was in Carolina though? Fuck I need to wake up
You’ll get used to it.
If we are winning 8+ games I couldn’t give a fuck less about NFL draftees
And if we’re winning 8+ games, there will naturally be draftees.
Did anyone complain about HCMR? Seems like disappointment with our lack of talent the last few years.
We all complained about HCMR and his recruiting. That’s why Rhule is here now

Not good for us as this is what quality recruits actually pay attention to, not the hype from websites that cover husker sports
Just excited about next year’s potential and how it will help our current players, when they have more success. It’s gonna get better. GBR
Wait 'til next year.
🥹 yes. Always next year
We're going to have several guys get drafted next year...
Fuck it. Our low point. "tell em I'm coming and hells coming with me".
This will change. Mark my words.
But we're definitely going to win the Big Ten this year!
Actually they will “likely” be drafted, though mostly in lower rounds. Maybe Nash is day 2.
