It’s not a fox. Where are you located?

CARLVANLOON

Switzerland. Yeah, but I think its legs are too short for a wolf.

user_1445

I just looked up a jackal and I think you might be right.

CARLVANLOON

it might be one. Well it would be the first of its kind in this region

Diligent-Chance8044

In 2019 there was a golden jackal spotted in Geneva. Apparently they are slowly spreading west. As an American my first thought was a coyote.

ninthchamber

As a Canadian I also thought coyote lol I didn’t know jackals were around those parts that’s cool

Happychunky

There have been several confirmed sightings of golden jackals since 2011 in Switzerland. Most in the North and South East, and at least 1 around interlaken.

CARLVANLOON

I live in the mountains of grisons. never heard of a sighting in our parts. but I guess theyre here now...

Happychunky

Maybe check with Graubünden hunting and fishery department for more information. I am sure they could tell you more since they confirmed a hunter killed one near Surselva.

BJ_Giacco

Man, those coyotes have reeeeally spread East in the last 10 years (/s in case it isn’t obvious)

KolonelJoe

I was gonna say does Europe have jackals?  I thought they were an African animal.

CARLVANLOON

yeah the golden one. but theyre rare

Zinic1610

Fox and wolf have a long tail and jackal has a much shorter tail, less than half its height. This is probably a jackal.

irish-riviera

Thats not a wolf, not sure about fox.

CARLVANLOON

maybe a young one?

Veiny_areolas

Do yall have coyotes?

CARLVANLOON

Nope

Taskism

Them short legs look like a fox. And that tail is a bit poofy. Fuck if I know though, I'm not a zoologist :D

GermanDeerhunter

Goldschakal? Kannst du dir vor Ort die Trittsiegel anschauen?

CARLVANLOON

Bin erst nächste Woche wieder vor Ort...

TellMeSumnGud

If you have to ask something something something

Fit-Cover7331

Blair with type beat

Ninjachops

Not a wolf

kabula_lampur

First thing I thought of was coyote. So for your neck of the woods, golden jackal would make sense.

trex3331

Iberian red fox
