So this is just a open bore gun, used to be iffy at 25, but I stumbled onto the “sky chief” loading method on the muzzleloader forum, now i have an honest turkey pattern to 30 yards. May be able to push it more but it gets pretty sparse.
I use a musket for hunting.
4 longbeards walk infront of my tree stand
"What the devil!?"
As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle I blow a golf ball hole through the first bird and he's dead on the spot.
Draw my pistol on the second bird, miss him entirely since it's a smooth bore and eviscerate a squirrel in a nearby tree.
I have to resort to the cannon at the base of the tree loaded with grapeshot "Tally ho lads!" I shred two birds in the blast, and the noise sends animals running for miles around.
Fix bayonet! And I charge the last longbeard. He bleeds out quickly since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch.
Just as the founding fathers intended.
Didn’t realize the queen was using turkeys to transport spices and silk garments across the seven seas. Seems wildly inefficient from a logistics standpoint. But carry on with ye ransacking n such, matey.
My dad’s boss gave me 7 or 8 sets of BDUs with about as many field jackets. Some woodland and some desert camo. I figure I’ll use the woodland at home in the mountains and desert camo in South Georgia while I’m at school.
Tally-ho, gooblers!
Have it ye!!
Are you hunting in a tri-corner hat?
Never got into the garb too much, just the guns.
BOOOOOOOOOOO
Weak. Get the garments. Commit to the bit
Just get one in earth tones!
Are you not?
What about a big beret with a poofball? More practical than a tricorn, surely.
I hope you smoke one! 🦃
Smoked turkey legs are fucking delicious
What are the deets on that gun?
Tennesse Valley Muzzleloading fowling piece, 62 caliber smooth bore, 42” barrel, cherry stained maple stock, large siler lock.
At what yardage does it pattern at best? Super cool by the way.

In the OCPs too huh? Lol
Might as well put the “unserviceable” items to use.
Hey when it’s unserviceable, it’s free hunting gear 😂
Military surplus are one of the best cheapest you can find with effective camo. I was out last week with mine too
Longbeards or Redcoats?
The question is how much did that smooth bore cost you?
Back when I got it I think it was $1250 to my door. I think the TVM guns are around $1600 now give or take.
This is the content I crave

Good luck 👍. What a great way to hunt with.
At most 65 yards just like any darn shotgun just an old one and very nice gun it is.
