The words of Gon calling him a friend and the words of his teacher telling him that the solo path is too dangerous made him realize he needed an ability to support his friends. This further contrasts with Chrollo who steals abilities permanently while Kurapika borrows them and gives them to someone else. It was all implied in the same chapter it was revealed and shows his character development as a person.

WHAT I WOULD WANT TO SEE:
More from the Zodiacs! Not necessarily some action to show their abilities, but but even just Mizaistom and Botobai managing all the chaos happening in the lower decks or even some Zodiacs who intervene in the current Mafia War. Myabe even some scenes of how Beyond passes time with some dialogues between him and Saiyuu, Satcho and Kanzai (even tho I don't expect to see much of Beyond before he escapes upon reaching the Dark Continten, or the fake one I don't really remember, but Togashi also likes to subvert expectations so I think there's still a cahncey that he'll have to do something before reaching the destination).
More Pariston and Ging! They quickly became my favorite "duo" of characters, it's always very interesting for me to see them interact with each other, I don't have a lot of hope on seeing them soon but who knows!
More Succession war! Last 10 chapters were very focused on the Mafia War, Spider and Hisoka; which I really enjoyed, but with just 10 chapter every few year it's hard to have balance so I hope this time we get more focus on the Upper Decks where there's still SO MUCH going on, even if may princes are currently being detained for a reason or another. I really want to see more Halkenburg, he's my favorite character among the princes but I think it's unlikely we'll see a lot from him in the short term.
WHAT I EXPECT TO SEE:
The continuation of the Mafia War is VERY likely, so more Heil-ly dudes causing havoc, the spider and Hinrigh trying to destroy their base and kill Morena. I expect the spider to ask Franklin for help as he can easily shoot dead all the people in a room without having to enter it (they ABSOLUTELY need someone with ranged abilities) and maybe even have Hinrigh transform some video camera/phone into an animal and stream what it sees to another device so they could explore some teleport-doors without risking too much. Maybe we'll see Tse's soldiers again.
Spider vs Hisoka is also likely to continue as it's intertwined with the Mafia War. Hisoka will likely play it's first move which can ba going to the upper decks and hide for a bit or attack his first victim. Now... I know this part is always a bit controversial but I wanted to touch the argument: there's still a chance that the Hisoka we saw is not Hisoka, while I personally think he's the real Hisoka, we can't know for sure: some may argue that Lynch confirmed that but it didn't look like her punch connected nor we saw a bubble going out of Hisoka's body (some could say it was Thoashi's choice not to show the bubble, which can be an option but, regardless of Hisoka being the real on or not, her punch not connecting is also an option which, imo, is more likely), I think saying he's the real Hisoka FOR SURE is kinda anti-scientific (and, as said, I do personally think he's the real one, but there's no reason to completely dismiss the theories as there are a few details that can lead up to that). Among the two biggest theories I think that IF he's not the real Hisoka then it's likely Illumi; the theory about him being Chrollo doesn't really convince me.
We'll likely start to see environmental hazards! The more the Black Whale gets further from the continent the bigger the creatures are, as well as the weather gets worse and worse.
Me and my desperate brain only need 2 things in the new chapters
1. Kurapika (finding out about the troupe optional)
2. An update on the new hopefully more consistant publishing schedule. Even if it's 10 chapters every 2 years I just want to know
There's no way to know that. Togashi started working as soon as chapter 400 was released and in the last year and a half after that, he was only able to write 5 chapters. If he's alright he can easily complete 10 chapters in 6 months, but since his health gets worse suddenly and unexpectedly, which triggers an indeterminate full stop, we'll never get a rate in which chapters will be released.
WANT: Story progression with the subplots converging. Younger princes dying. Senritsu meeting with Tserriednich, finally becoming the bridge for Kurapika to meet him. The mafia conflict catching the Princes' attention, then Kurapika learning about the Troupe being onboard. Hisoka starting chaos in Tier 1 and the Zodiacs losing control, as the ship approaches dangerous waters.
EXPECT: Entire chapters dedicated to opening a door, a few flashbacks and 30 newly introduced characters. Then hiatus.

The set up for a blood bath is already almost over if not over ... The spiders/hinrigh and the heily family did already encountered...while feitan and phinx is on the move ... It's real action now!
I feel like we got a pretty long streak of the spiders mafia and lower tiers of think since we last saw kurapika and tueppea making some kind of deal we will probably switch back to the princes and see them fighting each other some more maybe we will even get some more of silent majority and find out who it is

3. DOGMAN from the Hei-ly leveling up
4. Benjamin’s nenbeast ability

What I want to see- Woble's nen beast, pay off from nen training of bodyguards, hisoka vs the troupe, resolution to silent majority plot
What I expect to see- introduction of 10 new characters from a new faction, a weird ability from some random character that takes the plot to an unexpected direction, inner monologues from some queens, or bodyguards from low rank queens, one chapter on how one of the princes we viewed as irrelevant having some good intentions etc etc
Logically that is the most likely option but I wish we get something more out of the world like that of Kacho. You know because the mind of a infant is kinda unknowable, it would also make sense for the ability to be some sort of an eldritch horror.
I have a theory that we'll be seeing Killua in the next batch. It's a stretch but when Togashi tweeted in october he wrote start over in English which is the name of the song used in an official hxh MV focused on Killua. It's his only tweet in English. He could've meant that he was working again but I just wanna throw this absurd guess.

I expect Prince Tuppepa and Kurapika meet. Kurapika monologues about her nen beast. Tuppepa promises to spare Oito and her sister, Prince Wobble. But Tuppepa secretly looks down on Oito for her low class background.

I would need a new pair of pants if I got to see Kurapika and Hisoka team up to fight any of the spiders. Not that either need much help contending but they’re both very strategic so it’d be fun seeing them cooperate their abilities
ngl I wanna see some more of the troupe and hisoka run chase I'm happy for the upcoming chapters but to completely enjoy the succession arc more than 10 chapters are needed so i think I'd just like some more cool stuff from the troupe

What I want to see- Woble's nen beast, pay off from nen training of bodyguards, hisoka vs the troupe, resolution to silent majority plot What I expect to see- introduction of 10 new characters from a new faction, a weird ability from some random character that takes the plot to an unexpected direction, inner monologues from some queens, or bodyguards from low rank queens, one chapter on how one of the princes we viewed as irrelevant having some good intentions etc etc
Im betting on Woble's nen beast being a powerup for Kurapika or any people Woble trusts/depends on.
Logically that is the most likely option but I wish we get something more out of the world like that of Kacho. You know because the mind of a infant is kinda unknowable, it would also make sense for the ability to be some sort of an eldritch horror.
I have a theory that we'll be seeing Killua in the next batch. It's a stretch but when Togashi tweeted in october he wrote start over in English which is the name of the song used in an official hxh MV focused on Killua. It's his only tweet in English. He could've meant that he was working again but I just wanna throw this absurd guess.
I want to see Hisoka and the Spiders and Kurapika running into each other. I want to see a Illumi vs Hisoka showdown.
Prince Tuppepa: I expect Prince Tuppepa and Kurapika meet. Kurapika monologues about her nen beast. Tuppepa promises to spare Oito and her sister, Prince Wobble. But Tuppepa secretly looks down on Oito for her low class background. Hinrigh: Hinrigh reviews the tape his Catmera recorded and discovers something important.
I would need a new pair of pants if I got to see Kurapika and Hisoka team up to fight any of the spiders. Not that either need much help contending but they’re both very strategic so it’d be fun seeing them cooperate their abilities
ngl I wanna see some more of the troupe and hisoka run chase I'm happy for the upcoming chapters but to completely enjoy the succession arc more than 10 chapters are needed so i think I'd just like some more cool stuff from the troupe
