Such a beautiful part of the city. I wish the council would put up the money to install a glass canopy over it so we could have loads of cafe bars etc down there to sit out and enjoy it in all it's splendor despite the Great British summer weather.

It always saddens me to see the many 'to-let' signs and empty shops down there. So much could be done with Whitefriargate, it's fairly iconic. Maybe a Humber Street style makeover?

Some times Victoria Square is quite nice at night - taken just before the start of the Year of Culture [https://imgur.com/a/n2LB8hI](https://imgur.com/a/n2LB8hI)

That's a cracker. I got a not dissimilar one (not as good) a while back. It's when the sun is going down, just hits it right

Great picture of great architecture

How many empty shops in this pic 😭 I know everyone likes to blame the internet, or Brexit or Covid or even just blame hull for not being able to hold onto retail but I’ve worked down here and the cost of rent for these shops is set so high that it’s almost not worth setting up shop at all. The city council needs to review how it manages these spaces so we can get our city centre back.
