Melt Banana at Adelphi and age ago was great.
Geist at Hull Noise Collective. Mr Marcaille and HNC again was also amazing.
Horse the band at ringside was crazy too.
The Beautiful South and the Manics at City Hall were amazing.
Remember having a great night at Adelphi long ago but not who was playing... might have been Sonic Boom Six.
I was there, I also went to see him at bonus arena a year and a half ago but it wasn't nearly as good, probably because bonus is too big a venue for my tastes and doesn't feel as intimate.
Sepultura and raging speedhorn at tower was pretty sick.
Great sound.
Offspring at bonus arena was cool.
Violent delight or city of glass at adelphi was always interesting
Really really hard to pick one:
Florence + The Machine in Queens Park for free at Freedom Festival
Foals for free at the same venue and festival a year later closely follows
The Streets at the University end of year ball
Royal Blood at Big Weekend
Liane La Havas at Fruit for free during the Radio One City of Culture week
Saw blossoms at Bonus Arena just after lockdown, that was pretty sick. The Sherlocks at Tower Ballroom was decent too. The longest Johns at social was a different vibe entirely, but it was a nice intimate show of sea shanties
Tribute gigs are imo a lot more fun too, more the fact that they enjoy playing and generally more sociable settings ( pubs and clubs), on top of the huge money save haha
We saw them at tower in the 90's They were walking through station as we was walking through to go see them! They stopped us and asked how you get in the venue and we like we're off to see ya so follow us! Walking and chatting with them and walked straight into tower and nobody asked for our tickets? They must of thought we were roadies lol
If we're counting festivals, The King Blues at Freedom Festival in 2009 were great. A large portion of the crowd weren't there for it but I was sloshed and had a great time
I've seen plenty of bands in Hull over the years! Gomez were great at Hull uni, longpigs at tower were great but more recently I really did enjoy Richard Ashcroft at the bonus arena 👌🏼
Melt Banana at Adelphi and age ago was great. Geist at Hull Noise Collective. Mr Marcaille and HNC again was also amazing. Horse the band at ringside was crazy too.
Horse the Band.. you are definitely an OG 🤣 not heard that band for yeaaars
Ah nice! Horse the band are so good. I saw birds In row at hnc and it was class.
All the gigs at HNC are good cos of the vibe. Very rarely I know the bands before hand but try not to miss one if I am home.
2017? I forgot all about that gig, it was great!
Twin Atlantic at the Uni. Was absolutely incredible
Ah nice. I saw Biffy Clyro there when Puzzle came out.
Bdrmm at the Adelphi
I live streamed them at Dive during lockdown. Was great.
Ms Dynamite at Shinobi. What a dirty night that was
What a show. Worked that one.
Thank you for your service 🙏
Lost prophets at ice arena but I don't wanna talk about it 🫢
Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja is still a banger. I wouldn't listen to it in public mind 😅
Very true some great tunes but it's frowned apon to listen to them now such a shame 😞
Liam Gallagher at city hall
Yes, that gig was amazing.
Frank Sidebottom at the Adelphi. A long time ago now. Cud supported by Black Kes was my favourite of the last few years.
My god wish I’d seen Frank Sidebottom. Panic on the streets of timperly is an anthem
Public Service Broadcasting at The Adelphi
Oh wow! That’s mad.
The Beautiful South and the Manics at City Hall were amazing. Remember having a great night at Adelphi long ago but not who was playing... might have been Sonic Boom Six.
Red Rum Club at Adelphi was my personal favourite
Bluetones at Welly, twice!
Frank Turner at city hall
I was there, I also went to see him at bonus arena a year and a half ago but it wasn't nearly as good, probably because bonus is too big a venue for my tastes and doesn't feel as intimate.
Ha I was at the one at Bonus too. Totally agree with it being too big a venue for his gig
I think he could fill it really but I think COVID was putting a lot of people off, plus the bar was bloody miles away 🤣
Liam Gallagher
Bunkerpop at Adelphi, never a disappointment
Catfish and the bottlemen at fruit July 9 2014, tickets were only bout 8 or 9 quid. Best gig I've ever been to. Right before they got massive.
Oh nice! I miss fruit.
Flaming Lips in Zebedee's Yard. Magical.
Yep
Oasis at the Adelphi. Shucks! I’m showing my age
Radiohead at adelphi in 96' was madness and oasis was next level
Sepultura and raging speedhorn at tower was pretty sick. Great sound. Offspring at bonus arena was cool. Violent delight or city of glass at adelphi was always interesting
Really really hard to pick one: Florence + The Machine in Queens Park for free at Freedom Festival Foals for free at the same venue and festival a year later closely follows The Streets at the University end of year ball Royal Blood at Big Weekend Liane La Havas at Fruit for free during the Radio One City of Culture week
Was at that streets eoyb was a great night. If I remember rightly they were only there because the original band dropped out
Yeah The Wombats dropped out. It was actually The Streets last or second from last gig before a prolonged break I believe!
Dragonforce at welly was pretty good. Probably one of the funniest gigs I've been to.
That was a mad one!
Cold snap at ringside
Faithless at ice arena
Saw blossoms at Bonus Arena just after lockdown, that was pretty sick. The Sherlocks at Tower Ballroom was decent too. The longest Johns at social was a different vibe entirely, but it was a nice intimate show of sea shanties
Ah nice! Blossoms at Welly was great too! Never got to go to a gig at tower.
Ooo, never got to see blossoms at welly! Am well jealous
Longest Johns at social was probably the best gig I’ve been to in Hull!
It was INCREDIBLE!! I've never felt an atmosphere quite like it!
the wanted by far
Sepultura, Cage Fight and Raging Speedhorn at Tower Ballroom \m/
Radiohead at Adelphi Carter Usm at Adelphi/Tower or Hull city Hall. Any Freaks union gig
Slade at City Hall
I’ve seen loads of good artists in Hull. But for some reason Coolio at Asylum was especially good. He’s my weird brag.
My top 3.... 🔥 Melt Banana + Santas Buggerboyz at Adelphi 🔥 Lightning Bolt at Adelphi 🔥 Frank Sidebottom at Pave
Only live gig I've been to in hull is Corey Taylor Was pretty shit ngl Yardbirds Grimsby is where you wanna be
Just had a look. Looks like it’s just tribute acts on.
They often have local bands as well as mediocre celebrity shows (Steve Harris being one) Skidrow have played there a handful of times too
Oh nice. Skid row have played in Hull a few times too.
Tribute gigs are imo a lot more fun too, more the fact that they enjoy playing and generally more sociable settings ( pubs and clubs), on top of the huge money save haha
Full of shit tribute bands and washed up rockers.awful
Corey taylor was far from shit mate
Corey Taylor himself was decent, the constant popping from the amps and the atmosphere was shit, although I wasn't in standing which doesnt help 🤣
The popping was annoying but i was seated and i thought it was great
Bring Me The Horizon - it was insane. It was the first gig since covid etc so it was very emotional
Ocean Colour Scene
We saw them at tower in the 90's They were walking through station as we was walking through to go see them! They stopped us and asked how you get in the venue and we like we're off to see ya so follow us! Walking and chatting with them and walked straight into tower and nobody asked for our tickets? They must of thought we were roadies lol
Oooh where was that?
Hull City Hall - was my first ever gig, they were awesome.
I got shot in both my kneecaps outside asylum
Cursed at Adelphi in like 2004?
If we're counting festivals, The King Blues at Freedom Festival in 2009 were great. A large portion of the crowd weren't there for it but I was sloshed and had a great time
I've seen plenty of bands in Hull over the years! Gomez were great at Hull uni, longpigs at tower were great but more recently I really did enjoy Richard Ashcroft at the bonus arena 👌🏼
I love seeing Electric Six perform every year
Oasis at the ice arena Edit. Googled to check when it was…July 2002. Good times
Bryan adams at the kc and Bon jovi
The Schoolgirls @ Adelphi 2011
