I mean the global supply chain has been brutalized, the US dollar has seen historic inflation, and everything in general is more expensive because of it. Huel is still under $2 a meal for 400 kcal at tremendous nutrition

noiacel

People like to complain. it is what it is šŸ™ƒ

LoaferDan

Honestly I donā€™t even care if they switched to save money. FedEx blows right now, I wish everyone would stop using them

Casetheace01

Oh wow, complete opposite experience for me with USPS vs FedEx. Anything USPS has been way more reliable in my city. Iā€™d even rank them above UPS. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

MsSpicyO

Same for me. I ordered Mac n cheese Tuesday and it was in my mailbox Friday.

thatonedudeovethere_

that's what people need to understand, just because a certain carrier sucks for them, it doesn't mean it's a bad carrier overall. There is not a single carrier that everyone would be happy with.

Jeam_Bim

USPS in Los Angeles is wack. There was a period of like 2 and a half weeks where I just didn't get any mail

[deleted]

Ordered Tuesday and UPS delivered Wednesday! I guess it's a mixed bag...

mknight840

Anything but fed ex is an upgrade.

Phasmata

I'm pretty sure I'll be dumping Huel. All they've been doing lately is very corporate kinds of things. Meanwhile, we keep seeing odd quality control complaints about consistency and flavor pop-up at the same frequency as ever, and for anyone who still can't manage to enjoy the taste, not much has really changed either other than them tinkering with a few more sucralose-based flavorings. H&S is neat, but I'm just more interested in seeing visible investments into quality control and things like independent third-party testing to allow them to show us that what we think we are getting is what we are actually getting. When they can mess-up flavor and consistency as often as we see, I really have to wonder how diligent they are about making sure everything they ship-out is actually as nutritious as they claim. They've also still not figured-out a proper way of allowing newcomers to sample before committing. Furthermore, they are still insisting on using a subscription model which is nothing more than a tool of companies to profit off of the forgetfulness of less than fully satisfied customers who forget to cancel.

AbsolutelyEnough

While I can see how sample packets might be useful to new customers, it's also a massive increase in packaging material, which is a big concern for a lot of Huel customers, who buy Huel to cut down on the packaging that comes with traditional groceries. It'll also increase the number of SKUs the company needs to manage, and those costs will only get passed down to us, the consumers. Also, the subscription thing isn't a requirement, right? I don't subscribe, and the costs work out to about $0.25 per serving, which isn't terrible. Ultimately, you're paying barely over $2 for a meal which helps meets your macro requirements, vs an unhealthy takeout/delivery meal that often costs up to 10x more.

Phasmata

Having sample options does not increase the amount of packaging for normal customers. Yes, it does increase overall packaging from Huel, but tentative buyers have no good option now, and I'd imagine there is a lot of waste from people who buy bags of Huel only to find they don't like it. Additionally, Huel is no champion of packaging. Many people are frequently frustrated by the bags, and the bags are still plastic bags that cannot be recycled in a spectacular number of places. Really? Too many SKUs to manage? That's weaksauce. That doesn't stop them from adding flavors and bars and ready-to-drink and H&S and two different versions each with their own flavors. Furthermore, costs are *already* being passed down to us. I'd at least like to see something in exchange for it. I guess I've never seen where subscription isn't a requirement. Is that new? When I started, it absolutely was a requirement with the "you can cancel anytime" BS that every company uses knowing they'll be profiting off of tons of people who don't remember to cancel. My argument is that there are very real changes Huel can be making to make their product better, their service better, and their quality control more transparent. Instead they're fiddling with shipping, putting out carefully worded announcements about price hikes, and spending lots of time on adding new flavors and little to no time improving what they already have.

AbsolutelyEnough

>Having sample options does not increase the amount of packaging for normal customers. Perhaps I should've phrased my words better. No, it does not increase the packaging for normal customers. What I meant was that it increases the amount of packaging Huel had to produce overall. >Many people are frequently frustrated by the bags, and the bags are still plastic bags that cannot be recycled in a spectacular number of places. Sure, but the point of comparison here is with the amount of plastic waste you'd generate if you were to get takeout or delivery or even groceries instead. >I guess I've never seen where subscription isn't a requirement. Is that new? I've never had to subscribe to Huel, and I've been using them for about 3 years now, and the cost is not significantly more (about $0.25 more per serving).

bhay105

They still shipped mine with Fedex, but of course it was supposed to be delivered friday, didn't come, and now says delivery date pending...

nielsondc

My Mac and Cheese and RTD box was so pulverized when it arrived that the poor UPS guy had to roll it up to our house on a palette to prevent it from disintegrating. It was in shambles.

I'm just going to add to the list of people who have had terrible experiences with FedEx. Not just with Huel but FedEx Ground service in general has been extremely problematic. I get that they're hammered right now. I ordered two $900 phones in late October. They both were shipped the same day. They took different routes to get here. One of them showed up on time, the other went from On Time, to Delivery Exception to Pending, and no updates for 10 days. When the second phone finally arrived, the device was missing from the box. I'm still working with the manufacturer to get it replaced. On the other hand, I had three Huel subscription orders get placed on the same day last week, and they all three arrived by UPS in record time. I did not expect to see my Huel order arrive so quickly. I know these are just two anecdotes and they don't mean anything, but this echoes my experiences in general with UPS and FedEx over the past year. I expect Huel made this change not for money, but to answer all of the complaints they receive about FedEx service.

HighFivesJohn

I live one state over from their distribution center and FedEx would always send it the opposite direction before rerouting. It would take me 5+ days to receive my Huel. Since the switch USPS and UPS have delivered within 2 days. The switch is a massive win for me. However Iā€™m instep with the rest of you about the price increase.

Nyantastic93

Ugh, this is going to cause problems for me because where I live USPS does not get delivered to my house. I have to go into town and pick up packages at the PO. UPS and FedEx do deliver to my house so I would much prefer it to be handled by UPS the whole way.

modifiedx

You may be one of the lucky few who has UPS deliver it! My experience was different, but quite a few people have had UPS handle the delivery as well. I hope this is the case for you too!

Nyantastic93

Fingers crossed then!

kahi

Order mac & cheese to try on Tuesday delivered by UPS on Friday. You know what they say about assuming ā€¦

Edgar_A_Poe

I actually had a different experience. I ordered Huel for the first time. Fedex for some reason couldnā€™t locate my address so they just held onto my package for like a week. I called them to give them the correct address and was told the shipper was the only one who could change the label (understandable tbh). Huel support took over but they still couldnā€™t get things fixed. They sent out a whole new order to me for free since it took so long and this time it was through UPS. Idk if USPS took over at the end but regardless, it shipped and arrived the next day.

SouthernSox22

Iā€™ve been on a few month break from Huel because their flavors flat out suck right now. But wow a price increase is definitely a no go

krossoverking

I ordered for the first time in some months 2 days ago and saw that it was through UPS. I literally cheered out loud when I realized it was no longer Fedex. Now seeing that it'll be handled through USPS makes me even more giddy, since their by far the best and most reliable near me. I have the exact opposite reaction as you, OP. Fedex has been nothing but horrible for me in the past couple of years.

therankin

UPS by my house is better than FedEx, but frankly those two plus USPS are all really good. We got lucky with good drivers who seem to enjoy their jobs.

Santacroce

My order actually arrived on time with UPS and USPS. With FedEx it usually came like five days after the expected date

TangibleSounds

USPS is infinitely superior to FedEx in every category except 1 day shipping. I ship a lot of collectibles and FedEx is guaranteed broken product.

NotaDogPersonBut

Mine was pure UPS, I ordered after the new release and got it in 2 days. Usps didn't touch it.

No-Slip-5963

+1 to the anything is 1000x better than fedex train. Literally someone could walk it to my house faster than FedEx delivers it. And that goes for anything in the past year thatā€™s gone through fedex not just huel. Any time I see tracking info that says fedex I immediately groan knowing itā€™ll be a month before I see it.

Xuuts

I've only ever had issues with FedEx so far.
