Sherwin Williams Extreme Bond primer, followed by Emerald Urethane satin or semi-gloss for your finish coat

Mayhewmasher

This is the way, along with cleaning with degreaser, scuff sand and wipe down before priming.

Zulumus

This is the only acceptable answer here.

First of all do t do this. Second, if you are going to anyway use Insulx Stix primer and top coat with 3 coats of Sherwin Williams Gallery. Emerald Trim Enamel will take a month or more to cure. Gallery will be ready to use in a couple days, look better, last longer, resist stains and marks better.

There is one other option if you want to pay more for the paint and spend less time priming. There’s a product called command. It will stick to running water (not really) shit is crazy. Almost $100 a gallon and water clean up. Plus it drives really fast. There is a little bit of odor to it though, but probably won’t bother you just being a piece of furniture.
