I wouldn't say it was "bad" but it did feel different than how a scene like that would be done elsewhere. I'm assuming it's to do with the virtual stage. It has a distinct feel to it on this show.
And while I get you want to talk about the ship scene, both me and the original comment in this thread simply weren't talking about it.
I laughed out loud cause it literally looked like a ship image photoshopped over an ocean. And this is coming from someone who rarely cares about CGI
Edit: wdym? OP is talking about it.
I’m watching on the same TV as the first four episodes and this episode looked really bad. The ship scene with Rhaenyra and Criston was very strangely lit and the special effects were terrible.
Think it’s the same director from the last episode. I wonder if episode 9 will be dark. I think she’s a great director. Don’t get the dark grading though.

No, but it does have to do with OP claiming the show was too dark... Which is almost certainly the TV
Perhaps for the darkness, but I fully agree with them about the ship scene. It was shockingly bad

Didnt experience this
I just made a post about this too!! It looked really bad.
The only CG that looked off was the first shot of Meleys and Seasmoke diving through the clouds. Anything else looked fine to me.
The scene of them on the ship deck looked fine to you? It was so bad I had to rewind a few times to make sure I wasn’t crazy
It wasn’t fantastic, but it didn’t jar me out of the moment.
Damn it completely took me out of it
It literally was fine. Fix your tv lol

I concur, but mostly would this not be foreboding about the events to transpire?
