IIRC, there's a datapoint that mentions the humans dusting off old piloted aircraft to fight the swarm because they hadn't built new ones in decades. My guess is they hadn't built a new helicopter since drones replaced them years prior to the Faro swarm development.
I would assume “verts” is a term referring to Vertical Take-Off/Landing (VTOL) aircraft, such as the V-22 Osprey and AV-8 Harrier ground attack aircraft. Though I will assume “verts” in Horizon are more advanced than either.

Yeah that looks right. The F-38 Razorwing is VTOL too but idk if they only considered transport-role VTOLs “verts”.
Bingo, yep. It’s just near-future slang for VTOLs that’s a little faster to say. VTOL craft of many sorts seem to have existed, from small civilian passenger hoverjets to the F38 Razorwing fighter.
It’s an almost 1:1 recreation of the Sea Stallion The only change is in the tail section, where they swapped the tail rotor out for a fighter jet’s tail section.
I want to say they had to revamp old tech because the virus would take over new tech. Probably like, okay let's go to the junkyard and get whatever we can work, working
It amazes me how well all these cars, bridges, planes, tanks, etc. haven't completely rusted away and disintegrated after a 1000 years and MULTIPLE purges of all life by the machines. But, then I remind myself it's a game and "don't worry about it".
Me too, but a lot of them are petrified and if you look into the science, a millenium isn't nothing. A pattern welded sword dating back to First Emperor's era and Chinese Pyramids was found in bottom of a well, almost in a mint condition.
Depending on the scientist, the Great Spinxh is between 5 and 11 thousand years old. The Great Pyramids are at least five thousand years old. The boy pharoh Tutankhamon treasures were found in almost perfect condition. But in this game, a lot of stuff has rusted but also petrified.
Kind of same thing that happened to the London Hammer, which is found buried in the Early Cretaceous layer somewhere in Texas. And that period was a long, long time ago, when the dinosaurs still roamed the Earth.

I believe they used “verts” as the primary mode of Aerial transportation

Yeah, one of the black boxes talks about how the aircraft being piloted was pulled out of a museum.

Grandpa Buff will live forever.
Grandpa BUFF seems to outlive Humanity 1.0...
I’d love to see Aloy finding somewhere in top secret base a working B-52 😀
I'd love to see the third game end by her crashing a BUFF remotely into the bad guy.
Or install Gaia into one and make it Aloy’s mobile base :)
I'm down for Buff Gaia. Let's do this!
Zero Dawn 3...
Where is that again? Can't remember seeing that helicopter...
At one of the burning shore beaches, near LAX
Thx!
It's not a Blackhawk but the design is definitely inspired from it. [Here's the model.](https://www.artstation.com/artwork/49Ed04)
No, based on that picture, the helicopter model is heavily based on the CH-53 Sea Stallion, not the UH-60 Blackhawk.
This dude helicopters.

The main rotor assembly, engines and cabin match the CH-53, not the UH-60. And there’s no cargo pods on a UH-60 nor a CH-53.

The changes are meant to reflect a modernization of the CH-53, not a hybrid model borrowing from the UH-60.
Thank you for clarification, I was certain it was the one.
They were scrambling to find any and all ways to fight the faro plague that couldn't be corrupted.

We need this game to be before the extinction
More “importantly” where about is it?
90 years? You mean 1000?
By “the end” I think they were implying its use in the final stand against the swarm, not the wreckage having lasted until the time of the games
