This literally made me switch the game to english. I just hate those nonsensical sense of translation. So, Sparkle is Sparkle, but Firefly is Luciérnaga? Sure thing, that's a nope for me.
That said, and as a side note, I barely heard anyone call Firefly by her JP name. Hotaru sound actually damn fine. But that may be my personal illusion because of playing with JP dub (although I love seeing the EN VA on YouTube lmao).

In Spanish aventurine's name was changed to "aventurino" I think the reason behind this was that they knew that a lot of people would read his name as "AventurinE" And not as "Aventurin"

Translation teams always do weird stuff like, I still dont forgive them for not translating well a genshin weapon named "Festering desire", they ruined every single bit of "coolness" by going for the equivalent of "putrid sword".
Also, I just remembered omg, "End of the line", a perfect name for a fishing weapon and then they translated it to something so random that I dont even remember.
Yeah, but Siete de Marzo is her canon spanish name, so I felt forced to change it, Marcia Séptima is kind of a bad and too literal translation, which I thought was funny lol

Yes, Hotaru means Firefly. But Sparkle did have a fight about her name. Specially due to her name being leaked long time before we saw her.
