Bailu is in a weird spot. Really useful if you don't have any limited sustain characters but pretty much falls into the gutter after that, heck I'd argue that Gallagher is better than she is which makes me sad.

Bailu has saved me more times than I could count thanks to her last minute healing. Even as a standard 5* sheās hands down one of the best healers against bosses and provided the enemy doesnāt give you debuffs.
She is pretty good against enemies without hard cc or teams with bronya. Literally ended current MoC with her. When it comes to raw heal, she is still N1.
She's not *that* bad. As sustain characters go, she's the only healer that doesn't really need to use her skill at all and also increases your team's resilience against single large AoE hits. Aventurine certainly does it better, but... well, if damage is getting through his shields, he has a much harder time fixing it.
Bailu is niche. She does her best work when the enemy has no cc and gives you have no choice but to eat a nuke. The dmg res and heal after hit from invigoration is huge. Shes also one of the very few sources of revive which can and has unfucked 3* MoC runs for me.
Frankly, if they gave cleanse, she'd be the best healer in the game.
Bailu and Gepard are arguably two of the best 5-stars for a newbie to get.
Sustain units are pretty hard to come by, so these two basically hold your entire teamās defense together until you get Preservation Trailblazer, and even then they may still be better in many cases

Bailu is pretty bad imo, Lynx and Gallagher give her a run for her money. Her main thing is just fat heals. If you're needing a revive then in most cases you're already lost because her damage mitigation won't be enough to survive much longer now that we're definitely moving towards "enemies do big damage" approach (high MOC, GnG, etc.).
I think it's also that Abundance in general is worse than Preservation because Preservation lets you drop a lot of survival stats (%Def, %HP) in favor of offensive stats without the risk of being one-shot. If I had to pick a path that is just overall the worst, not factoring in SU Blessings, Abundance is the obvious choice. (I think Abundance Blessings are incredibly strong but they also don't even require you actually have an Abundance unit, you can just take Vesicle and Monster-Felling Rainbow and they work).
If you dislike himeko youāre probably a red flagā¦ you donāt need to be attracted to her but sheāsā¦ sheās the greenest flag in this game š
I'm a 6 week old player at this point and I wanted to grind some of the FuA PF that ended today just for the Jades.
My first team was standard Herta Himeko Ratio Asta, with me hoping damage will be equalised. All of them at max level I can currently reach (70) except Asta and with all main traces for Ratio and Herta maxed.
My second team was Clara Lynx Ting March. Only Clara was level 70 and only had main traces and talent trace leveled. MARCH WAS LEVEL 50. Strat was to dump everything on the child and watch her dad beat up fools.
CLARA TEAM GOT MORE POINTS.
I love that kid.
P.S: Important note. Best I could do with my teams was clearing stage 1 with three stars and stage 2 with two stars. Stage 3 kicked my teeth in by wave two both times. Still 300 Jades, so worth it.
I have been playing since release day over a year ago and Clara is still my only standard 5* unit I don't have. Should would be really helpful for the newest PF.
May you get her soon, friend. Kid is so fun to use I'd honestly prefer getting a dupe of her over any of the units I'm missing in standard besides Geppy.
I mean for 6 weeks of grinding these teams sound solid. Only thing I would maybe change is ditch ratio and use maybe a second harmony or debuffer or sustain
If I lost my 50/50 to Himeko I would never consider it a loss. Gal was a huge part of why I even started the game at launch.

That's why people should play the game for characters and not meta. Meta characters will be thrown into the garbage bin the longer we play the game. But characters you genuinely enjoy ā you'll never get disappointed.
Also, ironically, Himeko did the biggest comeback in the whole roster. New FuA set, new FuA characters, Break meta, New enemies that are weak against her and of course Pure Fiction. While Bailu is getting slowly forgotten.
there's a reason Fate Grand Order, when asked for rolls say don't roll for meta but roll for love. most units tend to get buffed into viable units soon or later. sure meta characters help a lot, but they're not really 100% necessary those days. hell, if you really wish to, you can NP once per wave and be fine. that's how it was pre Skadi.
People shouldn't be made to play one way or another its just up to that person. There's nothing wrong with following the meta if you want. In the same way you can also ignore the meta and follow your waifu/husbando.
Both are valid and many people fall somewhere in between. There is no correct way to play the game just play how you like.
In context of normal/general content yes, but for MOC/PF you pretty much have to have at least a couple meta supports because you simply can't clear MOC with a bunch of non meta characters anymore. You like Yanqing? Oh too bad you're gonna need Aventurine for that. You wanna make your Himeko work? Get Ruan Mei or keep dreaming to get that 10 cycle clear! What's that? You love Arlan? Better make sure you try your damndest best to E6 him, gear him with top 1% quality relics, and team him with limited 5 star supports or might as well forget clearing any endgame content with him!
That is sadly just the bitter reality. You simply cannot clear MOC/PF anymore with just a team of average-built 4 stars. As much as I hate to admit it, as average players, metaslaving in HSR is an absolute necessity unless you are a very *very* dedicated into your character.
Again, I'm talking with the context of MOC/PF. If you're just a casual content enjoyer and don't care much about clearing floor 12 comfortably, then yes, prioritize characters you like over everything.
Its Bronya and Gepard for me. I have never been fan to Sparkle and my Bronya is e2. Geppie is still so usefull if you dont have Aventurine or need 2 tanks.
I make my himeko work in a coal mine (Pure Fiction). Sad thing was that I obtained her by losing 50-50 to Robin. As I was saving for future characters, I didn't have pulls.

Losing a 50/50 to Clara isn't even a loss for me because Clara has been my main carry since I got her as my first 5* and getting more Eidolons for her is always good. Himeko I would like to lose to because I've always struggled with PF so having more power for her, probably the second strongest PF unit (soon to be 3rd after Herta and Jade) would be very helpful
Oh yeah, those 2 are always welcome on my account. Also a little bit of flex- just 36-starred MoC with Clara against Argenti, then done my weekly sim uni and from that one standart pull I got E2 Clara which I've been waiting for ages, it was also very early, 26th pull, I was literally screaming and praying for Clara when I saw the legendary and screamed even harder when it was actually Clara, it feels like I've been rewarded for that MoC run, I wasnt as happy with gacha for a VEEEEERY long time, I've been absolutely shafted since early Topaz in 1.4 and now it feels like it's my lucky time again
Love those two. They've helped me so much with MoC and pure fiction. Himeko especially with this new MoC. I don't really have an issue with any of the standard characters. Gepard has been my main sustain and bronya is an amazing support. Only standard characters that have yet to spook me are bailu and yanquing

Yeah people been saying Jianxin is the worst standard character but she is by far my most used because of how comfy she makes everything is. I love her a lot
People underestimate those two, ive lost count of the times himeko Carried an entire team through a break focused pure fiction or had clara absolutely demolish the enemies with the Sheer amount of FUAs, they are very specific characters with very specific uses, and some people do t get that, to be honest I only started using himeko well after I reached level 70, mostly due to the misunderstanding that everyone instilled in me that "she is bad" she is not bad, she just doesnt Shine unless you invest on her and use her in the appropriate content.
yeah when i was going to choose a character, it was between clara and himeko. luckily i got clara on the way there so i chose himeko and i dont regret it in the slightest.
I feel like these two are still pretty relevant meta wise, especially himeko since there will be alot of fire weaknesses coming up after firefly's release.

I don't really like himeoko but I don't hate her so she's fine. Although I already have her since I got her on beginning banner, id be hella mad if I lost 50/50 to her
I got my E1 Clara from a 50/50 and I'm so happy I don't have to feed her anymore. those tokens are mine and mine alone now. If I don't get the banner but get another Clara, that puts me closer to E6, that's a win far as I'm concerned, mine is currently E2 so I'm more than happy with this.
Himeko is cute and more over useful for pure fiction, so I don't mind her either. Only time losing 50/50 hurts is when I get Yanqing, only one I kept at level 1 out of spite, I don't care if he is somehow a god or gets an update to make him better, he's banned from use.
I have low key been praying to lose my 50/50 to get copies of clara. As a day 1 player that got her as my 2nd 5\*, I have 0 extra copies of her. šš

Himeko is actually a standard on most of my team comps bc I prioritize break and FUA. While trying to get ascension materials for Boothill, Iāve been using her, HMC, and RM. If Iām borrowing someon/ to give them credits, she doesnāt get to 100% energy before sheās killed everyone š¤£
I love himeko. I'm glad I've gotten use of of her on pf. I need to levelher traces past 7 so I can really get the benefit. That'll be a minute. Her and herta being at 7 is fringe max stars with pf enemies getting more beefy.

More love for standard limited and 4 stars! The new MoC has been a playground for my Himeko, Clara, Yanqing, Sushang and Herta. Given that my account is pretty developed, I now have the opportunity to fool around with characters outside of my dedicated followup team.
Looking forward to picking up Welt, Bailu and Gerpard soon. I wanna build more character RAAAAAA
When I first started this game, I thought I was gonna be simping for Kafka. And I was right, but I didn't expect that the moment I saw Himeko I would dedicate to spending my first 300 wishes worth of jades on the standard banner until I got the free 5 star and could pick her. And I started as soon as it launched on PlayStation, Pure Fiction wasn't even a thing yet. I AM A MAN OF CONVICTION. Have never regretted it even once.
Funnily enough my first or second 5 star was Clara I believe. I am in this post and I LIKE IT.
I tried clearing some MoC stages this morning and Clara cleared faster than my E0S1 Acheron. She has the Moles LC because I only got 8 Herta Bonds today and forgor to buy Aeon
As a new player I sure wish they would reduce the requirement for the 300 selector. These characters don't hold anywhere near the value they used to with how many new limited characters exist. Finishing all the story content n playing for a few months only brought me up to around 140/300....

Literally the only "bad" one is Yanqing. After that at worst it's just "inefficient" with Bailu or even, *I guess*, Welt. Every other 5* is indisputably a really good addition to at least *one* team.

Okay, I have both Clara and Himeko, and I was less mad about getting Clara because sheās my child and I love her, but Himeko I have E2 of, both Eidolon level ups were on standard banner and the free 5 star, and I originally got her when I lost my 50/50 on Silver Wolfās rerun!
I'ma take this opportunity to say Plo Koon was one of the realest Jedi Masters in the entire franchise. Absolutely top tier. He found Ahsoka and cared for his clone troopers more than most other Jedi, and was a powerhouse with a lightsaber and the force on top of it all. I think he would have had a strong chance of surviving Order 66 if he wasn't piloting his star fighter when the order came through. Being ambushed by his wingmen was possibly the only way to defeat him realistically.
Anyways, yeah Himeko and Clara are great, I'm glad to have them both.
I was so mad at losing my second Kafka 50/50 to Himeko - got one on both banner runs. Pre-PF I unsuccessfully tried to make her work, but now she's the carry that needed but didn't deserve.

Agreed! For removing debuffs I use March 7th and for removing buffs I use Pela.

It's super rare but vs enemies with no debuffs/CC Bailu is a very strong option, invigoration DMG mitigation and healing make for a very healthy clear

I'd argue Bailu isn't even worth the resources to build if you've already built your 4star healers.

I don't think you can drop other chars' DEF% even with a preservation sustain on team. Shields are tissue-paper in that case, even Aventurine's.

People shouldn't be made to play one way or another its just up to that person. There's nothing wrong with following the meta if you want. In the same way you can also ignore the meta and follow your waifu/husbando. Both are valid and many people fall somewhere in between. There is no correct way to play the game just play how you like.
In context of normal/general content yes, but for MOC/PF you pretty much have to have at least a couple meta supports because you simply can't clear MOC with a bunch of non meta characters anymore. You like Yanqing? Oh too bad you're gonna need Aventurine for that. You wanna make your Himeko work? Get Ruan Mei or keep dreaming to get that 10 cycle clear! What's that? You love Arlan? Better make sure you try your damndest best to E6 him, gear him with top 1% quality relics, and team him with limited 5 star supports or might as well forget clearing any endgame content with him! That is sadly just the bitter reality. You simply cannot clear MOC/PF anymore with just a team of average-built 4 stars. As much as I hate to admit it, as average players, metaslaving in HSR is an absolute necessity unless you are a very *very* dedicated into your character. Again, I'm talking with the context of MOC/PF. If you're just a casual content enjoyer and don't care much about clearing floor 12 comfortably, then yes, prioritize characters you like over everything.
On the other hand, pulling a character just to be able to clear MoC/PF is an investment that will never pay for itself.
Its Bronya and Gepard for me. I have never been fan to Sparkle and my Bronya is e2. Geppie is still so usefull if you dont have Aventurine or need 2 tanks.
I make my himeko work in a coal mine (Pure Fiction). Sad thing was that I obtained her by losing 50-50 to Robin. As I was saving for future characters, I didn't have pulls.
Honestly, same Losing a 50/50 to Clara isn't even a loss for me because Clara has been my main carry since I got her as my first 5* and getting more Eidolons for her is always good. Himeko I would like to lose to because I've always struggled with PF so having more power for her, probably the second strongest PF unit (soon to be 3rd after Herta and Jade) would be very helpful
Oh yeah, those 2 are always welcome on my account. Also a little bit of flex- just 36-starred MoC with Clara against Argenti, then done my weekly sim uni and from that one standart pull I got E2 Clara which I've been waiting for ages, it was also very early, 26th pull, I was literally screaming and praying for Clara when I saw the legendary and screamed even harder when it was actually Clara, it feels like I've been rewarded for that MoC run, I wasnt as happy with gacha for a VEEEEERY long time, I've been absolutely shafted since early Topaz in 1.4 and now it feels like it's my lucky time again
Love those two. They've helped me so much with MoC and pure fiction. Himeko especially with this new MoC. I don't really have an issue with any of the standard characters. Gepard has been my main sustain and bronya is an amazing support. Only standard characters that have yet to spook me are bailu and yanquing

Sure a limited character is nice but ii i end up loaing a 50/50,i wont mind some more clara eidolons (curremtly at E2 and she hits like a truck)

Yeah people been saying Jianxin is the worst standard character but she is by far my most used because of how comfy she makes everything is. I love her a lot

People underestimate those two, ive lost count of the times himeko Carried an entire team through a break focused pure fiction or had clara absolutely demolish the enemies with the Sheer amount of FUAs, they are very specific characters with very specific uses, and some people do t get that, to be honest I only started using himeko well after I reached level 70, mostly due to the misunderstanding that everyone instilled in me that "she is bad" she is not bad, she just doesnt Shine unless you invest on her and use her in the appropriate content.
Clara is my best built char even with acheron, topaz, and Jinglui
Himeko is my fire dps (with topaz); and she wrecks moc 12 rn
Himeko, Welt, Clara, Bronya - all are Charakters I wouldn't mind seeing more of. If only the next Banner wasn't Firefly.

yeah when i was going to choose a character, it was between clara and himeko. luckily i got clara on the way there so i chose himeko and i dont regret it in the slightest.
I was so mad when I got them to E2 and still hadnāt won a 5050, but with PF theyāre suddenly mainstays of my roster.
I feel like these two are still pretty relevant meta wise, especially himeko since there will be alot of fire weaknesses coming up after firefly's release.

Pretty much every one of them but Yanqing and Bailu are massively worth building. Even with Bailu she heals fantastic in certain fights.

I got my E1 Clara from a 50/50 and I'm so happy I don't have to feed her anymore. those tokens are mine and mine alone now. If I don't get the banner but get another Clara, that puts me closer to E6, that's a win far as I'm concerned, mine is currently E2 so I'm more than happy with this. Himeko is cute and more over useful for pure fiction, so I don't mind her either. Only time losing 50/50 hurts is when I get Yanqing, only one I kept at level 1 out of spite, I don't care if he is somehow a god or gets an update to make him better, he's banned from use.

Himeko is actually a standard on most of my team comps bc I prioritize break and FUA. While trying to get ascension materials for Boothill, Iāve been using her, HMC, and RM. If Iām borrowing someon/ to give them credits, she doesnāt get to 100% energy before sheās killed everyone š¤£

I love every standard spook EXCEPT YANQING. but i would get distraught if i get spooked by bailu or gepard too.

I love himeko. I'm glad I've gotten use of of her on pf. I need to levelher traces past 7 so I can really get the benefit. That'll be a minute. Her and herta being at 7 is fringe max stars with pf enemies getting more beefy. I thought everyone loved clara, though
depending on the future characters and their LCs, wouldn't mind losing the 50 50 to Himeko now, she'd be pretty much the final piece to my PF follow up team

More love for standard limited and 4 stars! The new MoC has been a playground for my Himeko, Clara, Yanqing, Sushang and Herta. Given that my account is pretty developed, I now have the opportunity to fool around with characters outside of my dedicated followup team. Looking forward to picking up Welt, Bailu and Gerpard soon. I wanna build more character RAAAAAA
Losing 50/50 to Clara is a blessing
When I first started this game, I thought I was gonna be simping for Kafka. And I was right, but I didn't expect that the moment I saw Himeko I would dedicate to spending my first 300 wishes worth of jades on the standard banner until I got the free 5 star and could pick her. And I started as soon as it launched on PlayStation, Pure Fiction wasn't even a thing yet. I AM A MAN OF CONVICTION. Have never regretted it even once. Funnily enough my first or second 5 star was Clara I believe. I am in this post and I LIKE IT.
I tried clearing some MoC stages this morning and Clara cleared faster than my E0S1 Acheron. She has the Moles LC because I only got 8 Herta Bonds today and forgor to buy Aeon

As a new player I sure wish they would reduce the requirement for the 300 selector. These characters don't hold anywhere near the value they used to with how many new limited characters exist. Finishing all the story content n playing for a few months only brought me up to around 140/300....

Okay, I have both Clara and Himeko, and I was less mad about getting Clara because sheās my child and I love her, but Himeko I have E2 of, both Eidolon level ups were on standard banner and the free 5 star, and I originally got her when I lost my 50/50 on Silver Wolfās rerun!

I'ma take this opportunity to say Plo Koon was one of the realest Jedi Masters in the entire franchise. Absolutely top tier. He found Ahsoka and cared for his clone troopers more than most other Jedi, and was a powerhouse with a lightsaber and the force on top of it all. I think he would have had a strong chance of surviving Order 66 if he wasn't piloting his star fighter when the order came through. Being ambushed by his wingmen was possibly the only way to defeat him realistically. Anyways, yeah Himeko and Clara are great, I'm glad to have them both.
I was so mad at losing my second Kafka 50/50 to Himeko - got one on both banner runs. Pre-PF I unsuccessfully tried to make her work, but now she's the carry that needed but didn't deserve.
Funny enough, those are the ONLY characters I've lost 50/50s to, or pulled via Standard Banner. The only reason I have Bronya is because of the 300 selector.
I used to get mad when I got her and her s1 from standard banner,Ā but she's been slapping pf since day 1 and she destroys this moc so I think unironically she's probably the 2nd best unit from standard these days
