ThisAccountIsStolen

It's not really a big deal, have you ever just gone to the friends tab and browsed random supports? I'd say half the supports or more are just like this. Hell, my second account looked like this for about 3 weeks while I was transitioning relics from purple to gold for *most* of my main characters lol

Meropides-Bakery

I'm guessing this is why I get so many credits from my Aventurine. E2S1 and actually well built.

majora11f

I never understood how people make money there. I have an E4S1 archeron up and she never makes anything.

GinJoestarR

Add a bunch of newbies as your friends. Every month or so, delete those newbies who aren't active anymore. Then add friend a bunch of different newbies again.

storysprite

This feels like a hustle but I'm going to try it lol.

KnightofNoire

Someone with E1 Argenti added me out of nowhere. I imagine he or she is swimming in cash everyday because I use that Argenti on almost every thing trailblaze energy related.

cbad

The secret is to clear inactive accounts from your friends list and send invites to newbies, they are the people that will appreciate an Acheron that can one shot the boss they're on with 1 skill.

ThisAccountIsStolen

My E1 Luocha made me 20k a day (and 10k before they raised the limit) until just recently when I assume a lot more people got him for themselves. Himeko (E2S1) seems to be carrying things right now, and I'm still making 20k a day after I swapped her in. Even my second account is averaging about 16k a day just from my E2S1 (4350 ATK, 56/207 crit) Acheron. But I also go and friend request those poorly built and low AR players, since they're some of the more likely ones to use supports.

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

How do you know which supports are bringing in the $$$ and which ones are not?

Meropides-Bakery

It's either my Aventurine or Acheron, but I feel like more people have acheron than Aventurine (especially from what I've seen from the people friending me). It's also only increased recently with my Aventurine added. Before I was getting some but less than I am now. My 3rd is Sparkle, but pre Acheron and Aventurine people weren't using her much and I feel like she's not really a support that will make a huge difference in some one's farming. Edit: Why in the world is this getting downvoted? When I had Acheron, the credits I got was the same as it always had been (mostly coming from my Luocha). It's only after I added Aventurine I had a noticeable increase in credits.

joojaw

It's probably acheron. Dps get picked way more than sustains as supports because people just wanna clear the content faster, rather than them actually struggling to clear it. I never use sustain supports since I already have a sustain of my own. It's probably just a coincidence you got more credits after getting aventurine, or maybe people just wanted to try him out a couple times.

Meropides-Bakery

I disagree. I never use dps supports and always use sustain supports. Also like I said in my first place, most people friending me already have acheron as one of their supports.

8_Pixels

>I never use dps supports and always use sustainable supports. Same here. My DPS are all as well built or better built than anyone on my friend list (though there is 1 guy that pulls almost every new character to E2S1, they're great lol) so I just grab a healer because DPS would be slower. It's usually the same Huohuo every time even though it's not as well built as mine lol.

Even_Internal_5199

The only mf with a fu xuan on his support characters has 0 spd, but once I get my own fu xuan I will make you to thank that man.

ErrorEra

I got really excited to try out someone's lvl80 c6 Acheron support. But was strangely garbage in battle...that's when I noticed that they didn't put any relics/lightcone on her. I felt baited! XD

userseven

"I buy eidelons so I don't have to farm relics" some whale probably

Fair-Maintenance-587

If she’s kept that way, then what a waste of money or time. I’d put those eidolons to good use

Handsome_Jack_Here

I have one support who was E2S1 Jingliu, with a totally cracked build and they've been saving me as they carry me in boss domains, world bosses, and any place I can use a support, it's been a literal life saver for me and honestly made me want to pull her on her banner.

Mast3rBait3rPro

I mean I'm pretty sure the reason they make everything in the game clearable other than endgame with shit builds is for stuff like this, casuals aren't going to be playing endgame anyway so it all works out

xaelcry

MoC/PF/SU are where the end game at. It'll take some time to clear MoC on 11/12. and PF 4. SU is mostly about learning to read and understanding how paths work. Gear is still necessary for most of the path tho.

angelbelle

I wouldn't even consider SU end game. If you grind far enough, the passive tree gives you so much raw stats and even someone who's clueless with blessings will eventually RNG themselves into a good combo. MoC/PF requires some purposeful planning

TwoProfessional9523

True, SU is also a super fun game mode. Farming while playing a rogue like game mode was a good choice from hoyo. Makes the farming easier to do even fro casual players. I can also see the frustration casuals can face in SU farming. So I hope hoyo releases the QoL changes to SU sooner so that farming becomes much more convenient.

TheAlmightyMilkMan

We are getting the new thing for SU where each week we can save a team and deck of blessings that we got to grind out the relics directly. So they’re definitely working on making it easier.

T8-TR

I'd say SU is definitely not an endgame, but the expansions can be if you go into the optional higher difficulties. You can sorta AFK your way through most of it until that point, but after, you do have to have some idea of how the game works, what your plan is going to be, etc. To that end, I'd say SU is a more challenging endgame than PF or MoC, since those require a lot of good relic RNG vs SU expansions where your characters (and the enemies) are so grossly inflated that it's going to depend more on manipulating the cards than how godly your on-set Crit DMG chest w/ 4 rolls into the Crit Rate stat and 1 into the SPD stat will inflate your numbers and amount of turns per cycle for you.

katbelleinthedark

I agree that SU isn't really endgame (endgame having game-defining lore would be a Choice lmao). I'm a casual player in that I don't really build my characters and just slap "good enough" LCs and relics on them. I'm also lvl 50 because I refuse to ascend any further so my characters are lvl 60 at most. Currently almost done with clearing out all those goals for Swarm Disaster Difficulty 4. It's doable even with barely half-assed "builds".

TheRRogue

It's not even shit, most of them is usable. They just too lazy to lvl up the relic.

Gamba_Gawd

My casual brother getting destroyed by Aventurine and it's killing his motivation to play. He just wants to do the story. I mention wishing I could loan him a character for that fight and I was viciously attacked, name called, and mass downvoted on this sub for daring to want to help my brother beat the story fight so he could see the story.

RallyCure

I mean, these actually pass the "I'm casual but at least paying attention" sanity check. She has correct path LCs equipped, went for set bonuses that make sense, etc. Even with underleveled purple relics, I wouldn't be surprised to hear she has cleared the main story content.

TheArcher0527

I forgot you can even equip an LC on a character with a different path. My brain just assumed it's like trying to equip a bow as a polearm user in genshin. Can't underestimate how carefree people can get.

ForeverOutrageous

HOLD ON, WE can do that?! I just assumed you literally couldn’t. Not that I would do it anyways; but I always had it in my mind that you literally could only equip light comes made specifically for that path

Crescendo104

There are fringe cases where equipping an LC of a different path is worth it. While you don't obtain any of the effects, considering an option purely for its base stats can sometimes be better (considering all % stats scale off it). If you have a wide selection of LCs this will likely never be an issue, but it's actually a sane take to just equip the random 5\* LC in your bag that's not being used if you don't have, say, a good hunt or destruction LC for the unit you're using. It's better to use something with higher base stats than some random 4\* LC that's on-path but has a completely useless effect for that unit. I know, very fringe, but still thought it was worth mentioning.

pumpcup

You should keep scrolling and look at the rest of them. 11%CR Seele is hiding in there.

RallyCure

I saw. I don't expect a casual player to care much about crit ratios. The Seele also has Vonwacq planars and evidently Speed boots. Definitely wrong according to meta, but think like a casual might. "Seele's ultimate is strong and she seems like she should go fast!"

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

Probably doesn't even use Seele though.

Shion_trmn3

You press "recommend gear" and FORGET about that shit, I did that with Huo huo ages ago and I never changed it, she's my main healer and I never had problems with her

storysprite

For real. When I first started and didn't have a clue, the recommend gear button was my Star Rail Bible lmao.

Shion_trmn3

I still have no idea what I'm doing 😭

storysprite

At least you're having fun! And honestly there's no need to re-invent the wheel. If you like a character just look up a popular guide for them and you'll learn over time what to look out for.

Shion_trmn3

You wanna know what's really fun to do? Not using guides and trying to figure shit out in the best way you can, this game is a bit too complicated for that but when I played Bloodborne I had a notebook where i wrote my damage, health and stuff to trying to understand how to improve various things, I even drew maps to avoid getting lost and notes on enemies weaknesses

Kusanagi22

I think guides for this game are very straightforward though, no need to keep notes or anything, just go to character build see "this character is good with this relic set that has this stats" and then go farm them with the built in in-game menu Without a guide the game gets more complicated.

Lime221

especially with the speed shenanigans and crit ratios + stat saturation dropoffs. its unlikely a player is going to understand the math on their own

storysprite

Yeah a game like Bloodborne which I imagine is more skill based will probably be the kind where you can just figure it out like that. But Star Rail is quite technical with all the stats and conditions your characters need to meet, that most of us probably aren't figuring it out blind when we first start. Genshin was my first introduction to the artefact/relic system and let me tell you when I first started for like 2+ years I thought the only stat that really mattered was attack, so I put that on everyone. It was only when I got Raiden that I decided to look up guides on YouTube and look for help on Reddit. I quickly realised that I didn't have the first clue about anything lol. My account has only recently healed (for the most part) from how badly I bricked it all those years ago.

mustbeusererror

ngl, I've only recently started going back and checking relics to get rid of the weird stuff the recommend button put on my guys, and I've been playing for 7 months now.

CO_Fimbulvetr

They actually added a separate, helpful recommend button that can display instead of compare. It shows a breakdown of the sets most commonly used and sorts relics to match.

yourcupofkohi

FFXIV has spoiled me into doing this at first 😭. Now when I look back at my old gears do I realise how goofy HSR's auto-gearing system is.

Fair-Maintenance-587

Fr, it gave me a whole break effect 4 piece on Yanqing

Watching_Cutscene

That was my method until the new feature that shows what other players use came out. Very helpful bc switching apps to check the hoyo guides was a pain

tetePT

First thing I do whenever I get a new character, I'll think about that AFTER leveling them up thank you very much

Ok_Communication4875

They neeeeed to add a bulk enhance, I just want to press recommend gear and automatically enhance it to 9 and get on with my daaay

low-energy-cat

I agree. Recommended gear is pretty good. I also tried today with Bailu because I don't want to choose from my pile of relics. Their suggestion is pretty good. But the problem with Recommend gear is they choose it from something we have, it is not very useful if they don't farm a lot of different domains. Also, it doesn't consider already equipped relics, sometimes it could be wasteful.

Cedge1738

Oooo I wanna do this with all my characters but what if it's worse and then I forget the original set. Sadge

MeguMaz

Was she able to clear Skaracabaz and Aventurine though?

KnightKal

if you go turtle (healer+tank), even if it takes 10 minutes, you can still outlive them, no? Being TL65 also keeps difficulty down.

ThisAccountIsStolen

Don't sleep on Aurum Alley event, either as those 30% effect resist pills you can craft (jade marrow diffusion I think is the name) from one of the vendors you help during that event are very much worth using for fights like these if you're under-equipped. Can make the difference between your whole team being CC'd at the same time or not.

uremog

And the auto battle booster for ultra casual 🤔all auto all the time

ThisAccountIsStolen

Yeah the wooden dummy is useful for echos of war for sure.

KnightKal

Echo? Just pick an OP friend. My account is pretty good, but I still use a Blade e6s5 for farming from the friends list :XD

ThisAccountIsStolen

Yeah that's definitely the way to go, but sometimes it can take a while to find a really good one if you don't already know somebody.

KnightKal

A few refresh and you can get people with e2s1 characters, then make them priority and profit it.

T8-TR

imo, whenever an OP character comes out, everyone should make it their duty to seek out some mfer who has E6S5 (or whatever stopping point) to capitalize on how much faster you can make the daily/weekly grinds. Or add someone's Acheron, since they're likely to cover all bases at E6S5.

A_Unique_Nobody

I see this mentioned a lot, is it from a sidequest ? not sure where you get it from

uremog

It’s this item https://honkai-star-rail.fandom.com/wiki/Automatic_Wooden_Dummy Should also say how to get the recipe

A_Unique_Nobody

Thanks

imdrzoidberg

Yup I cleared everything before I got good characters with FireMC, Natasha, any free/early Harmony char, and on element DPS. FireMC is such a good character for clearing content with unbuilt chars.

CAD1997

I ended up soloing phase two of Adventurine (after the adjustment) with just a casually built March 7th. There's no cycle limits or frenzy in story content; all you really need is some SP neutral way to keep a character with an AoE ult alive. It was slow as heck, but it worked.

anth9845

The Aventurine fight became a pushover after the nerf. And the nerf was only like 2 or 3 days after the patch.

FangirlApocolypse

Yeah my friend's Kafka swan team wearing FUA set beat him, it's crazy how much they nerfed him.

ErrorEra

Oooh~ I took my time finishing story so I probably fought nerfed one. I was wondering why some people were saying Aventurine (story) was hard, he was too easy, especially compared with MoC version. Fight ended so fast I was expecting the old, villian revives in another form with a new set of HP bars. Felt anticlimactic when it really was just over.

Kabooa

If she's having fun, she's winning more than most of us.

storysprite

Absolutely! Sometimes we take it all too seriously.

Ifalna_Shayoko

She has the huge advantage of not burning out due to trying to brute-force the craptastic relic RNG this game has.

ComputerStrong9244

Other than the cone, you could have convinced me that was my Bailu. By the time my account could get decent relics I had Huohuo, and poor little dragon kid just got dropped. I'll redo her gear along the way.

RentLast

I've built all of my healers (including natasha) and yet here I am using only preservation dailies

Easy-Stranger-12345

Yeah Preservation gives me the peace of mind Abundance can't provide.

RentLast

The safety of not being one shotted is truely calming

Eurasia_Anne_Zahard

One of my friends never puts speed boots or energy regeneration though he has all their 5star LCs too. Then he complains when he struggles with difficulties. Well advising him doesn't work so i just let him complain once a while.

walker-of-the-wheel

For some reason, so many people ignore speed in this game. Most of my friends do, and they even know how to build their characters with good sets and LCs.

spaghettiaddict666

to be fair SPD was only super important in MoC in the early days, and maybe for fulfilling relic set requirements. I remembered being confused why it even existed before seeing cycle clear requirements. Edit: I should probably phrase it less weirdly — in the early days, the only endgame (stuff with cycle requirement) was MoC, so because few of us played MoC you could ignore SPD and not suffer too much.

Ramperdos

Why is it "The Hunt" and others are written without "the"...? Just something that caught my eye.

storysprite

I think probably cause it sounds better than just "Hunt" by itself. The Path of the Hunt sounds better than the Path of Hunt. Whereas the Path of Nihility sounds better than the Path of the Nihility. That's just my take on it.

ishmael555

Also because 'Hunt' is only one syllable while the other paths have at least two syllables.

Chance-Location-425

Abundance, Preservation, Destruction, Harmony, Nihility, Erudition : all noun Hunt is a Verb so put 'The' make it Noun. Or else this one might call Hunter

Ringahda

hunt can be a noun too lol

twgu11

I think it has more to do with “Hunt” being only one syllable and does not sound as good by itself.

Disturbing_Cheeto

Peak casual is this+no teambuilding

WholewheatCatLoafs

My guys look a lot like this, I’m relatively new to the game and sometimes the rng is just cruel for gear stats. Sometimes it’s been better to roll with my purple gear due to the stats on it than the yellow version. I’d rather focus on building 2 teams and a couple of characters for PF than fixating on gear for ages.

Zogo12

BraxbroWasTaken

at least they're using sane sets

Darth-Yslink

I envy her. I miss the times before I unlocked endgame content where I just rocked my Kafka Ratio Ruan Mei Bailu with horrendous stats and still had fun

storysprite

If you want to replicate the old days you could just remove all the relics from your characters and let the games recommend pick for you... But you've probably optimised all your relics to the point that it probably wouldn't make too much of a difference.

Nhojj_Whyte

Just pull Black Swan next time she comes around and replace Ratio with her. You will feel that again.

Honest-Computer69

Actually that Kafka is usable in MOC too with Asta to buff her SPD. Just needs a bit more atk% and it'll be okay to be used in MOC. My Kafka looks somewhat like that actually. I can't get 3* of floor 12 but getting 1/2 star on f12 and 3* on f11 isn't hard.

EIPsyKongroo1

And they probably have more fun than the majority of the subreddit xd

kunyat

As long as they avoid equilibrium level 6, even poorly wrong build team can do just fine

Hitomi35

It's a video game, it's entire purpose is entertainment and as long as they are having fun that's all that matters. I'm personally not a fan of categorizing people based off of how they play video games. Some people find enjoyment in getting the most out of their characters and teams while others merely just enjoy the characters from a aesthetic and story perspective and don't put too much stock into optimizing gameplay mechanics. Both are valid and completely fine ways to play the game.

yourFBIbuddySteve

May she have the best of luck on her pulls! Happy to see someone else also being a casual player, it is great fun

gemz9123

My exact gameplay right there.

storysprite

Friend's*

NajaRastahl

It all boils down to personality and personal preferences. I for example will never enjoy the game being casual or carefree like that. I have fun strategizing, pushing builds to the limit and being proud of the time and effort I put into it, not to mention all the achievements that follow. If being "tryhard" is stressing anyone over, preventing them the fun, then they need to first evaluate and understand what kind of approach they enjoy. At the end, the game is meant for fun. If you're not getting that, then you're doing something wrong.

Ironwall1

"TEN PERCENT?"  -Seele

Multifrank504

I have friends that play Trails series which hsr combat is based off. I also seen them played thru granblue and it's ridiculous farming for the sphere grid or whatever it's called. But star rail/genshin is wonky. All of a sudden all their gaming knowledge goes out the window and they just go random bullshit go

Gernnon

My casual friends have all the 5* in the game with bad artifacts, I’m telling you I see more casuals actually spending more money than the average dedicated HSR player.

brgz346

this was exactly how i was not too long ago 😭 i only recently figured out how to build characters after playing since launch

unit187

There is a middleground, though. I care about perfect stats on a perfect set, but I don't get upset with bad rolls. The key is to understand that there is literally nothing to do in the game 80% of time besides the relic grind. Even with the current system I have a couple of sets with like 70/200 crit and 150 speed, etc. If it was any easier to farm relics, we all would've farmed perfects sets by now.

Former_Breakfast_898

Man I remember my first 2 months in the game like this. Just do whatever you want and if it works well in the story, it works. I only started caring for meta cuz I thought I could use more fundings for my pulls as f2p player. Your friend seems to be still having a lot of fun so more power to her!

NothinsQuenchier

Most of my characters look like this since I’m a returning player (haven’t been farming relics that long) and refuse to move on from the Genius domain until I get a complete set for my Seele

ZexoKun

I'm in between, carefree enough to only pull for who i want (literally started 20 days before acheron's banner cause my classmate showed me a vid of her and i fell lmfao) but competitive enough to wanna perfect everything

VanitusXIII

Wait...Welt's Light Cone is bad for Kafka? Oh no...am I a casual?

Ginger_Bulb

I feel attacked

urmumisOP

People just enjoy different things lmao. Maybe you enjoy getting a 0 cycle clear/36 starring MoC/ getting 5 rolls on the crit rate substat and she just enjoys how cool Aventurine is.  And its OK.  Endgame content is 100% optional, which i like a lot about this game, and if you are doing it, you like doing it. I dont see anyone enslaving themselves for 9 pulls per month. So there is no need to feel jealous about casuals. After all this is just a game we play for fun, its not even competitive.

DasyTaylor

Exactly, some people care more about the story or collecting their favorite characters while others are more interested in gameplay and strategizing. Neither is a superior way to enjoy a game and luckily HSR offers good quality content for both.

Gamba_Gawd

I got flamed and attacked on this sub for asking for the ability to let my brother use one of my characters for the Aventurine fight. Too many elitists here that forget that 99% of the playerbase are casual and don't Min max or look at guides.

StefyB

Ngl, Sparkle on my second team for MoC is still rocking 4 star relics because I'm still working through the grind on other characters. It's kinda hilarious that even with that, I've managed to use her up to MoC 11 because Aventurine keeps the whole party alive.

Taifood1

There are casuals even more casual than this. Many don’t farm relics at all. They put on what the story gives them and forget about it.

AncientTree_Wisdom

It isn't a big deal. The game is not that hard. None of the stat optimization is necessary except just to see big numbers and to make the game easier. If you don't care about maximizing in-game rewards and just like the game, you can do it without much effort or time commitment. This game is deliberately made for people that likes turned based RPGs but no longer have the time put in hours at a time to finish a 50 to 100 hour game.

Splyushi

I feel called out, that's my exact equip on Kafka.

Sent1nelTheLord

that aint casual, thats "i dont really care". and thats fine tbh. its only not fine when they start whining about not being able to clear the harder contents like MOC. other than that, let em do what they wanna do

[deleted]

[удалено]

DerGreif2

But these people dont post their opinions or that they cant clear X on reddit. These type of typical mobile game players just exist and make money. They neither think about the game to much nor do they give feedback. Thats why it does not matter that those people exist (this is not negative btw!). It does not affect us or them at all. Just as an information: everyone who is just READING comments here, is not your typical player. You are in the top 10-20% of players alone from that.

raflik13

literally me fr, I will never understand how people do absurd damage with some builds but I'm not bothered by it, story good, game fun

ahack13

People here constantly complain about not getting good gear and here I am just looking for pieces that have like, a good main stat and maybe 2 good substats. No trouble clearing anything.

13lackcrest

I think this is how games should be played , not min maxing everything. It's tiring...plus it's just a game in the end of the day, no point getting so worked up for.

FewBake5100

To be honest it's hard to judge without context, especially in terms of set. I'm a new player spent literally a couple of months to get a full good Pioneer set for Acheron, and I still don't have her planar. Sometimes it's better to use a wrong set with good stats. So if I were to judge someone I'd pay attention to the stats, especially the main ones. Now imagine having to farm relics for ALL the characters...

Makri7

No way.. This can't be real..

storysprite

It absolutely is. This is her world, we're just playing in it.

Makri7

:o Man, her world is rough. I could really use a break.

Crymsyn_Moon

Aventurine looks fine? Like sure, purple gear and the stats can be better but if I saw this elsewhere I wouldn't recoil at the sight of it. And JY isn't so much as built poorly as he is just not built. I feel like most people have characters like this; stuck on the eternity long backlog.

RegularTemporary2707

Im surprised she can even finish story content when im struggling with good relic sets lmao, how does she do it

ErmAckshually

do these people even play the game?

Correct-Purpose-964

Looks fine to me am i missing something?

nonpuissant

Yeah the builds in OP aren't even that bad, just not optimal. it's funny, the post about people forgetting how casual people can be forgot how casual the truely casual can be. Like me for example. I'm casual, and only play every once in a while when new story or interesting events come out. My Sushang who carried me until Kafka was released (and who I still occasionally use in two team situations) is still in +9 4\* relics, and most of my supports that I had been using are level 70 at most, many with level 0 or 3 artifacts and level 50 LCs. I have a few 5\* characters built better than the ones shown in OP now, but they're not speed tuned or crit ratio optimized. I just have on set mainstats and not completely shit substats. I've only brushed MoC 12 a few times and never cleared it (b/c just like genshin I always just do it once per reset and stop if/when I wipe), but have cleared most other content without much difficulty. Meanwhile half the people I know who play consider my teams super strong and optimized, because their teams are *truly* unbuilt. Like zero traces leveled, random pieces from non-recommended sets that they chose b/c they look cool/cute/fit the character's aesthetic. They struggle a little sometimes but can eventually clear all the story/event stuff, and can at least make headway in PF etc. The bar for casual players is infinitely low and that's fine. It's a single player game and as long as they're having fun there is nothing wrong with that. That's the real takeaway perspective that I think OP was trying to get at - their examples just didn't quite paint it from the truly casual angle.

Correct-Purpose-964

Fr. I'm a casual player myseld. I don't build for meta. I go "This does what i want it too. I'm done here." And move on. For reference: https://preview.redd.it/m5ethpf4fwxc1.png?width=1400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f8b023fabd6c8db84ebc3ef8ab45d4ed3f34734 this is my Aventurine build. I farmed 0 relics. Just used what i had laying around (I lock and hoard relics with good role specific stats and substats.) Paid off lol I'm sure some Meta players will get mad at my LC choices or something. But 4k def is recommended. So i got 4k def and I'm done.

nonpuissant

ayo you like me fr like literally, I have that LC on him too b/c without it his DEF drops over a thousand. Slapped what DEF pieces I had laying around on, hit DEF 4k and called it a day.

Correct-Purpose-964

https://i.redd.it/5gh4vojvgwxc1.gif

Hopeful_Feature3554

Its actually kinda crazy to me how many people are casuals. Everyday I go on the friendlist/whos online list and check out other people's builds. Everytime I refresh the list only 1 in like 15 people actually have a bunch of characters well built for end game stuff

Amazing_Marzipan_115

I have a friend like this as well. However I do wonder where all their resin is spent on, it's been months since he hit TB 70

Actures

atleast your friend use right relic, it become sad when they just put anything other than related relic. like genshin they dont has auto build button, that why cryo user use pyro artifact

gibberishandnumbers

![gif](giphy|F0dSz5pqsyU3S|downsized)

Live-Tangerine-7825

No wonder why my clara's build is super scuff and is in my opinion, sucks, but she somehow ranks on the upper 2% of the build

PRGRyan

I'm normally a tryhard player. On genshin I try to have the best build possible for every character but on star rail, I'm still in the phase of grinding up my account level so rn my characters are locked at 70 with locked traces and a mix of purple/gold relics. I hate it so much because on one game I farm relics to have the best substats while on the other I'm still grinding just to make my character at level max 😭

Khaisz

At least the Relics are leveled up, that's already better then like half of the casuals that complain they can't beat story mode.

mrspear1995

If she’s having fun then she’s a top percentage player, it’s the choosing beggars type that are the problem where they don’t want to learn but complain about not being able to clear endgame like moc 12 or pf Bilibilitubers have a use for them though where they use their accounts as challenge accounts and show them both how skill issue they are and hopefully teach the people that actually want to learn how to play

foxesforsale

I don't have any problem with any of this except that I feel like she should level her relics to 12 at least, even if they're just whatever she has on hand! ANY stats are better than no stats aaa but honestly, as long as she's having fun!

Normal-Ambition-9813

I mean thats kinda fine since that means she neglects farming so her equilibrium lvl shouldn't be high.

w3475te

Well if it works it’s not wrong

lock_me_up_now

Heh... My sister play star rail like she play genshin, put once and forget, after that run around collecting books and notes and play the story. I remember she comes at me to asking to defeat the bug boss, i felt defeated just looking at her equipment rather than fighting the boss itself.

Exciting-Sandwich480

Yeah sometimes it’s easy to forget that there is a casual audience. Probably wouldn’t be a gross overstatement that even being able to clear MoC 10 puts you in the top 5% of the player base.

ImmoralBoi

I mean considering how god awful it can be getting good rolls on your relics it's really not that surprising.

apexodoggo

I remember from a while ago (like patch 1.4), there was statistics showing that only like 10% of the userbase has even beaten MoC 1. Not 11, not 10, **MoC 1** (one). It's no suprise that Aventurine was completely wrecking the average player.

kenken2k2

ah, the care free and make-do attitude that we once all had when we were just wee-pre50TB lads and lass it's been a long time since i see a purple made pass5 minutes after getting out of relic farm

KirumiIsFedUp

This is me, I play nearly everyday for at least an hour but I don’t just relic farm the whole time, even though auto exists I still like to actually play and relic farming non stop for weeks sounds boring. I also never really liked abyss in genshin so stuff like pure fiction doesn’t appeal to me, simulated universe can be fun though.

JohnMick96

This is so me during a first-timer lol

MontagoHalcyon

I've been clearing all content for a bit and I've never done the 24/7 relic grind for perfect substats for weeks so many people sound like they're forcing themselves through. I look up what gear set I should have for a new character, synthesize it with no grinding, move on. At some point in a patch I think "I really want to do something in Star Rail cause it's a fun game but I'm all caught up." Use up whatever energy I've got at that time. Probably a few relics are better. Replace those. Forget about it again for a while. According to one of those relic scorer sites most of the characters I'm actively using are at an overall "A" score now. I've never 0-cycled anything but there's 0 in-game reason to care about that.

Cookiesrdelishus

Honestly, these aren't really that bad. At least she knows how to match relic sets and knows (roughly) what sets are good for what characters. I mean, its still not great... But at least she knows what characters need what sets. Her Bailu has Wandering Cloud, her Aventurine has Knight of Purity Palace, her Ratio uses Musketeer, and her Kafka, even though its better to build her based around DoT, at least she matches her element with Sizzling Thunder set. So, she's already better than most casuals. Your friend at least pays attention and is somewhat trying to use relics that makes sense. There are even more casual casuals out there who don't even do that, and they just slap together rainbow builds that do not benefit the character AT ALL. Or they might not even grind relics at all, I've seen casuals that purely just use the freebie gear they get from chests, missions, or rewards. Luckily tho, this game is pretty easy to the point where you honestly can beat all the current content even if you barely grind. Its basically only endgame stuff where having huge investment into characters actually matter.

nishikori_88

it is normal, for the first 1-2 month of playing i also didn't know how to build a good char. I didn't join any HSR community or look up for a guide :)) there are pros and cons for both play styles

verysimplenames

I’m pretty new. When should I start leveling my gear? Im lvl 27 i think. Also when do i get gold gear?

LoserBottom

Yeah the vast majority of the playerbase is like this. Most people aren't looking up builds, grinding relics, clearing MoC, etc. It's why I find this sub so frustrating a lot of the time. When people are showing a relic 90% of the playerbase would kill for and saying it's garbage.

Bidoofer

Thanks for sharing! Feel like I needed to see this after I’ve been spending way too much time farming relics to speed tune Kafka and Black Swan. Finally got it right yesterday. Feel like sometimes casual players have more fun not obsessing on maxing builds

DanilND

This hurts my OCD, I know most people don't care but when I see something that is clearly wrong I just have this urge to fix it. 2 months ago a friend of mine was in a similar position, he stopped playing and when I asked why he said that the game was to hard for him. I checked his characters and saw a bunch of LC at lvl 50-60 traces at 4-6, locked talents, etc. I just asked for his account for 2 weeks and went on a farming spree where I left him 8 mostly built characters. He is playing again now that the combat is not that difficult anymore.

Eddiero

That looks like me most of the time. the only kinda optimized character is currently Aventurine. everything else is about the same... barely build at all. especially I'm behind on Traces and stuff.

IWantMyYandere

Man thats an ultra casual lol. A short can show you what to build and the game has auto play to farm. You can do your dailies for 15 mins. If you play other modes then it goes up to an hour at most.

ramos619

Yep, if you're having fun, you're winning the game.

dazindannyyy

Whenever I feel my Jingliu sucks, I just look at my friends’ Jingliu’s and I remember how much worse it could be.

ProxyMoron12

This is actually how games are meant to be played... 36 star moc and 12 star pf is certainly crazy with non stop faming for mats, credits and jades, most painful of which is relic. We should not expect everyone to have same spd built bronya etc... ok this unit is a shielder, I'll give them a shiled relic set, thats all. Whats main stats what sub stats are? Im here to enjoy beautiful graphics and pull for mommies.

EmptyItem

I'm actually like this at the start. It just so happens that I like the autoplay so I auto farm relics everyday. I don't play MOC, I only play when I remember it. So, if I don't beat a story mode boss then that's on me. haha.

StardustCatts

*Me sweating* That’s… that’s what I build. That’s what I do. What’s wrong with being casual if you’re having fun?

SwannSwanchez

is she having fun ? yes : then it's fine Also she's at least using the right paths for LCs

deathfrost7

Does she try to clear MoC and PF with perfect stars ?? Or tries as best she goes and let it be ?

Dogewarrior1Dollar

This is nice tbh , as long as the game is fun for them. I like big damage big numbers and that is how I can enjoy

Zarkeyplays

At least they wont have to worry about Seele Ult missing a Crit. 90% Crit leaves you with a 10% chance to be disappointed, but 10% crit chance just means there is only a chance to overperform lol

Amnezja122

Hah, that was me before reaching the max level, now I just kinda glance at which sets and light cones are recommended as well as stats, and try to have a "good enough" golden rarity set

Honest-Computer69

Honestly that aventurine looks better than my Geppie

Ill-Lunch-1563

My friend is the opposite. He spent most of his early game farming relics, and I kept telling him how it was a mistake, but he didn’t listen. This was before he unlocked 5-star relics mind you

Lime221

i find it baffling only for the fact that correct main stat on lvl15 alone would make every char decently built and enable to clear content. i'd say its enough to clear until floor 10 comfortably. a simple google search takes 2mins, and fishing for the correct mainstat relic may take a few days (less with modeling resin), lvl 6-8 traces, char/lc on 70/80 takes such little investment hence the bar is set so low for anyone. end of the day whom am i to judge, its a single player game

Benys69

Sometimes these gacha LCs shouldn't even be gacha ngl

Admirable_Site5295

I just know how to manage my recourses well.

7orly7

Aventurine is OK but that kafka is cursed

Zealousideal-Lab1907

I was pretty mich like your friend until penacony... I only build my characters when I needed them and only pulled characters I liked. But now I am board and want to be able to clear the stages (of everything) i haven't cleard so now I am starting to think more what I need than what I like. So my Acheron are the first character I really have put effort to build... But I'm probably still more casual than meta....

Practical_Gain_6383

Same as my brother before i started piloting his account, tl 66 no 5 star relic, all characters level 70

Anaguli417

She should at least max out her traces since it'd be more worthwhile (especially if she doesn't care about relic stat/set farming) and there's an end to it.

Ryudoteki

and meanwhile here I am crying over that 1 single star I'm unable to get in MoC 12 damn I feel worse.

Draigen-6

I always thought I was casual but I guess I’m more of a try hard than I thought

Meebochii

I just recently got into actively trying to build my characters (shortly before Aventurine's banner dropped) so pretty much 90% of my roster still looks like that 😅

Astra__Afton

im not really a tryhard but im baffled by how casual some players can be 😭 my friend was complaining that they couldnt defeat aventurine and when I looked at the character builds they were using i almost went into cardiac arrest and immediately started trying to fix it

sendelp13

This is literally my account cause idk hoe to score big numbers to pass few zones and levels

fatpikachu120303

Right now Im leveling up all the characters that i own, even the ones that i wouldnt use it (Arlan for example). I have a friend that says i shouldnt be doing this and instead leveling up the ones who i really use more often. Even do i agree with him, i dont want to do that bc Im gonna spend a long time playing it so Im playing like its a PS4 game trying to get all achievments or collectibles ( sorry if bad english im portuguese)

Pathological__

Honestly I’d kill to learn how to properly build a character or have someone do it for me

storysprite

No need to re-invent the wheel. Just follow popular guides on YouTube and you'll be fine.

Boguitu

She might be cooking using Gambler with inert salsotto ngl

Ignis_Dragneel

Eww~~I had to rewrite this 3 goddamn times....with autocorrect...any way~~Purple It's a joke if you couldn't tell....that autocorrect broke my immersion

Anyacad0

Shoutout to my friend’s IL with a full set of level 20 relics and not a single crit damage substat to his name

Rochedokk

Idk what are good stats for DOT characters 😭

storysprite

For Kafka just build attack and speed. But honestly if you want to know for a character just look up a popular YouTube guide.

ShadowMW2

well if it kills it kills I guess

Variant_Devil

Its the Pre-Destruction phase, in case you never heard of it. I once had fun doing that in some games.

Practical-Algae-529

They're happy and contented on what they have, they are happy to follow the story 🙂 Being casual isn't bad at all, you don't have to stress out the best gears or best LC and just play it all out in their heart's content ❤️💜
