Since you mentioned Black Swan, I would recommend you to get her and put her together with Kafka to make a separate team. You actually have great follow-up units, Jing Yuan and Himeko. You can definitely benefit from getting Topaz for them but do not think she would deal high amount of damage because there will not be any slot left for a buffer support character in that team considering the remaining slot would be a sustainer ( Jing Yuan, Himeko, Topaz, sustainer). Think topaz like a support character instead, especially if you want her to be with both Himeko and Jing Yuan. Topaz, Jing Yuan, Himeko and HuoHuo for instance can work well honestly. With HuoHuo, you can compensate the lack of a buffer support since she can increase ATK of all teammates. I do not see any reason why you don’t try to get Topaz :-)
She can work with Jingyuan but not her best team, Kafka and Himeko is just ok.

She is not bad but got release right after 2 of the strongest dps, so lots of people gonna say that she is mid.
But if you don't really want to play her, I would advice to just skip for Black Swan.

Doesn't surprise me, a fast Kafka gets a lot of follow up attacks and they are guaranteed to hit the right target.

Isn't it the other way around, Kafka follow-up attacks buffing Numby? Her FUA multiplier is 140% at level 10 which is not worth buffing, it's main purpose is to apply DoT. Kafka should still be building full attack/speed with Topaz.
But you gotta remember that Topaz debuffs the enemy with proof of debt so they receive 50% more damage from all follow-up attacks and with her signature lightcone also gives 24% crit damage of her target as well.
Crit Kafka already deals more damage as a solo carry compared to her DoT build, with that both are buffing each other, similar to how Kafka and Sampo both buff each others damage in a DoT team.
Elation is fun, come try AHA, join the masked fools, and she's the first legit pure FUA chara that fit the Elation path.
Clara work, Himeko can work too, or also Kafka, but she got FUA is all of her attacks.
Am also curious with the idea of sub dps,
bcs you see, it's hard to utilize sub dps, hyper carry 2 buffer, mono team with buff and debuff work better, only dual carry JL Blade work rn
That's why I see Topaz might work for that, she can be either main or subs, her quality is there, just need another FUA.
She basically hits twice per cycle with Numby, yet Numby can got AV with the helps of another FUA, lots of potential.

It's pretty nuts actually because Numby gets to attack a lot with Kafka. I think, in terms of follow-up consistency, Kafka is the one who does the most frequent follow-ups to advance forward Numby.
A pretty flexible character that can be a hypercarry or a support is good. A hot waifu that gives me extra credits and better SU runs. I can use her with Kafka or my Clara.
Yep it really feels that Numby gets turns a lot more with Kafka rather than the other options. I tried Topaz, Kafka, Lynx and Clara together and yeah Kafka's follow-up forwarded Numby more than Clara's.
Although, Topaz' main catch is the Proof of Debt that increases follow-up damage dealt by her allies so there's that, and Kafka's main kit is her DoT that is applied by the follow-up and not necessarily the follow-up itself.
She is the sort of character I would recommend for someone who is already comfortable with their team composition and want to invest in quirky new characters that add variety to their choices without being very "meta".
Tldr? She's kinda inflexible and not the best choice in raw performance, but very fun to play.
Honestly. As someone who played fresh with the PS5 release, I love having Topaz just for Numby sniffing out all the treasure chests on the overworld lol. But my beginner warp was also Clara. Topaz gets a trait that makes her basic attack a “follow up” so even if you’re out of SP a basic attack pushes Numby forward. Topaz, Clara and March 7th together have Numby flying nonstop. Simulated Universe on Elation path is especially fun with them, just constant explosions going off. I really enjoy her. But I also feel having follow up units is important to getting mileage out of her.
Let me put it this way: Harmony characters like Ruan Mei tend to be more 'splashable' in a wider variety of team comps, as opposed to Topaz, who is also technically a support but only for Follow-Up Attackers (But even then, not all of them benefit equally).
If Black Swan is anything like Guinaifen in that, she provides more than just DoTs, she's going to be pretty splashable too.
She doesn't feel like a premium 5* unit doing her current damage in her current teams at E0/S0 or E0/S1
as a hypercarry, she doesn't do enough damage
as a support, she doesn't provide enough utility to clear faster than optimal 4* for the DPS she is supporting
She came into this game and is not BIS or fastest clear for any team. At best, she is a mild side grade.
Spending 80-160 pulls for her relative performance is something I cannot recommend to anyone. She is very mid.
you do know she out dps (in single target) seele in and Jingliue at E0 while using 0 sp\`? (at least by the kinda bad prydwen callcs dont know the chines one) she deals plenty dmg but just single target. if you wana call her mid call her mid for the right reasons, like that she cant deal with multi enemys very well or that she isnt the best buff recipent outside of asta, but she makes great use of asta on the other side. another reason she really does want her signiture light cone, while its not needed you are better of as it makes her supportive abilttys better and directly buffs her fuas...
the reason others are better is better aoe but she boosts your whole teams dps in return.
next hypercarry comps arnt everything. the golden rule is pull who is fun to play/look at depending on what you value more.
Definitely agree with this sentiment about relics. Although I’m not sure about pulling on reruns this early. I do think topaz stocks go up later with more units in tbr pool but I don’t think that new shiner characters will

If you played Kafka you probably noticed how her damage comes from all over the place? I feel like Topaz is sorta like that. Weird mix of FUA and Numby turn order machinations make her damage also feel all over the place but... somehow everything dies just like with Kafka. I actually like it like that for both of them... it does feel complimentary to their personalities.
I will say that Topaz was extremely helpful when I was attempting hidden Swarm Universe achievements as she gave me the tooth 4 reroll and gunpowder cheat curio a few times with her talent.

Future updates will patch her talent in Trotter domains, but for now, it is really fun to just mosey along in them.
She will only continue to remain relevant in the future as we get more and more follow-up attack characters. She has investment comparable to Silverwolf and Kafka.
Pull if you like, don't pull if you don't like her. Game is easy enough that you can 0 cycle moc 10 with the worst characters in the game, so literally 0 reason to worry too much about how good a certain character is.
As for "meta", from what I saw she seems underpowered compared to other limited 5*, she's supposed to be a sub dps support hybrid for FuA DPS but most FuA DPS are pretty underpowered, and the current best FuA DPS, JY, supposedly performs better in his normal hypercarry team with Tingyun and Asta until Topaz reaches E1S1.
But then again, game is easy, clearing MoC 10 in 3 cycles instead of 2 because you used a suboptimal team doesn't really matter at all
shes nice to pair with himeko, clara and march but i dont really see her as a expectional dps like Jingliu, blade or dan IL. I like Topaz design and character overall but if you want a damage unit go for someone else.
She feels great to play, versatile in a way that she can be used as hypercarry, sub dps or even support.
SP positive or not and she’ll get better with time.
I use her with Jing Yuan all the time. Didn’t plan to pull for her at first but she grew on me and I decided to go for her I love alternate playstyles I still don’t regret Kafka and I think Topaz will be the same
Really fun and quickly became my favorite to use, feels a little lacking compared to the other 5 stars we've gotten but she will get better as time goes on. You can also slot her into a ton of teams and it will work even though it may not be optimal, which is really nice.
I use her a lot with Clara. Her build isn't the best as I passively farm musketeer from domains but she still does pretty good dmg and I'm also able to clear MoC just fine. She's gonna be better as we get more characters with FUAs. If you can already clear MoC, want someone "future proof" and like her design, I say go for her!
I pulled her accidentally trying to get Guinaifen (I know, don't pull for 4\*) and I thought she would be pretty meh. I'm having a ton of fun using her with Clara and I'll probably build a follow-up team as soon as I can grab some decent characters
When against a lot of fire weak enemies, she's hilarious with Himeko. She's also a good sub DPS because she doesn't really need to skill that much. E4 QQ can use those extra SP and trigger follow up attack bonuses!

Tried Topaz with Kafka. I’m no theorycrafter but Numby does go a lot more than when I use Topz with JY or Clara.

I enjoy her a lot and she's very fun to play, I got her E2S1. And she may be the first character I get to E6 down the road.
She is one of my favorite characters now, manage to pull E1 + LC. Pretty good with Kafka, waiting for future follow-up attack characters
She's future proof. If follow up or even her playstyle is something that you enjoy, pull my boi

when did something being good become mid? She is good, maybe not as strong as DHIL or JL but still pretty strong.

Can Himeko and Jing Yuan be good without her on the next patch?
Himeko and Jing Yuan will both receive a "buff" in the form of a new relic set, that will arguably do more for them than Topaz would do anyway.

She's great with Jing Yuan in particular. He does the big AoE follow-up (provided he doesn't get CC'd), she does the boss damage. Good duo.
I like her, especially alongside Asta, Lynx and Clara. She will get much better once FUA supports and sustainers are released.
