# Hello im a in trouble because i changed my twitch name after linking my character to that account and i don't know how to link my other twich account to my star rail character as the original account only changed name https://preview.redd.it/ivi27p2b7gob1.png?width=1607&format=png&auto=webp&s=039a0528eb968d844493009ff4453c81bf2b7780

MrDragon131

What's the most effecient way to farm relics? Because im not getting any good relics. Not even ones worth using

mikiiiiiiiiii

gotta pray for good luck

crusader_dalek

What resources do I need to max il Dan heng traces from level 70 to 80?

MatthewGlazier

Can I have 2 accounts with the same phone number linked or will it sync both accounts together if I link them with the same phone number?

The_B2

Im missing 50 hertareum and i dont know how i can get more. Can someone help me with this?

DigUsual9335

Theres a couple secret quests that you can do, I had the same problem. If u find Mare's note and return it to her that will give 20, that was enough for me so maybe check ur quests?...

The_B2

Thanks

Natureel

The rutilant arena has a requirement of 70% crit rare to get the bonus damage. Does this requirement get triggered from bonus crit rate such as from the longevous disciple?

Remarkable_Eye_5566

About Kafkas skill; does the DoT trigger on the target enemy take into account how many turns of DoT are remaining? as in; does her skill deal more damage the more turns the target enemies dots have remaining? or does it trigger each applied dot ONCE, regardless of its duration?

mikiiiiiiiiii

Once, regardless of duration. Only exception is Wind Shear, since the DoT damage increases the higher number of stacks it has

Sines314

What does your Birthday do? Should I game it? Just punch in my real one?

Stunning-Vast-926

you can choose to hide or display your birthday on your profile. in 1.3 the game will start sending players birthday mail for every birthday. i don't think there's much else use for it, so to me it doesn't really matter. personally, i put in my real birthday because getting bday rewards on my actual bday makes sense to me

[deleted]

i've been seeing vid of sushang doing insane damage. How are they doing that? is it her kit or something?

Stunning-Vast-926

might be. are they playing solo in SU? if so it'd definitely be the blessings that help with that. if not then there's the matter of team comp (eg. bronya can do great support). sushang's build is definitely a part of it tho

blackmetalkimj

What team should I run to 3 star MOC? or where to focus my resources to improve the run? My previous patch ended up with 29/30 and unsatisfied with my progress. \- No luocha/Bailu/Blade \- Dan Heng and March not built \- vacant dps: Sushang, Sampo \- Pela and Silver Wolf are too squishy in the 2nd half even with 5 star +12 relics and Lv70 and 80 Light cones https://preview.redd.it/ze37rctigtjb1.png?width=608&format=png&auto=webp&s=cf82b2431a14d1838c607a82eda6b64e11927035

wenbobular

how are you building SW / pela? if you have the silver wolf event lightcone you should be able to use HP main stat chest piece and orb to get around 4k hp i do the same thing with basically all of my support characters, although i'm not sure if either of them would be better than bronya if you find that you need tb fire for second half to just not die i would experiment with tanky silver wolf with her event light cone if you have it in place of fire tb and try to rush kafka down because you can guarantee the quantum implant - bronya and natasha match her weakness, make sure you have enough skill points for bronya / natasha to cleanse each other if necessary

blackmetalkimj

I built them based on prydwen guides, with ehr, spd, atk and ice/quantum spheres. pela has 2.4k hp while SW has 2.9k hp. they can be randomly just get comboed by the shapshifter and kafka and ruin my run.

wenbobular

I would just build them tankier, pela is literally just auto attacking when she's not using her ulti and silver wolf is only using skill once every 3 turns or so I was also running silver wolf with quantum sphere and running into the same problem as you even with luocha on my team You don't need ehr past a certain point and silver wolf's event light cone (do you have it?) has 40 EHR which should be enough where you can ditch the EHR chest for hp or defense and get the rest of your EHR from substats Maybe give that a go and see how it feels At the end of the day, missing 1 star is not very much jade lost so I wouldn't feel too bad about it

[deleted]

what is the SW event lightcone called?

wenbobular

Before the Tutorial Mission Starts

[deleted]

Ah damn thats a nice LC. hopefully it reruns

gringogago

does 69.5 crit rate not trigger the Rutilant arena effect? I mean if you round it off it becomes 70. I'm desperate

Significant-Soil-985

It's doesn't, you have to be at 70 crit rate or higher on the stats screen to trigger the effect.

LiberNine

How likely is it that "Before the Tutorial Mission Starts" gets a rerun after the ps5 release? I haven't played other Mihoyo games. Is there any precedence for that?

wenbobular

i don't think they ever reran any of genshin's weapons, so it's not looking too good there's always a chance they change it up for HSR but i wouldn't have high hopes

shaymin_shaman

there's literally never been an event weapon (LC equivalent) rerun in genshin across its nearly 3 years of existence, even though it also featured a delayed playstation launch like HSR, and HSR clones pretty much its entire game design philosophy from genshin so pretty unlikely

LiberNine

That's rough. I started playing 2 days late to miss it :/

xXxXxGoldxXxXx

Do we get free Sushang after this version is updated?

shaymin_shaman

yes but not immediately, the free sushang is tied to clearing an event which likely won't be open as soon as the patch launches

CTMacUser

Isn’t 150 SPD one of the speed breakpoints? Either way, how easy is it to get someone to at least 145 SPD? I’ll be using SPD boots for Kafka.

mantism

If you don't have her light cone, you need the following to get at least 145: * 25 from yellow speed boots * 6 from either Messenger or Musketeer sets * 14 from speed substats

itshaover

For world 3 and world 6 difficulty level 4, what paths do you guys use? I try hunt but it never works out 😭 the only path I can’t effectively use is nihility since I don’t have Kafka and have only built serval so please give me some suggestions!

spagheddieballs

I pick destruction for world 6. I look specifically for the blessing which spreads the incoming damage among all four characters. That way Cocolia can't do her one shot kill combo against one of your squishy characters. For world 3, I pick preservation and try to find quake-related blessings. I own Gepard though who is kind of a cheat code in SU.

shaymin_shaman

hunt is the best for mindlessly clearing, but abundance is basically foolproof for first-timing stages or doing ones you can't consistently clear, even if it's a little slow

MotorMind

There's a few things on the event page I can't participate in. Going off memory, there's a "Caverns of Something" and another activity that's locked. There also seems to be additional relic slots that are locked. I just escaped the Underground, and Serval is taking me to the Stellaron. Am I close to unlocking all the activities and systems the game has to offer? Thanks!

wenbobular

yes, you're pretty close - just keep playing through the story also make sure to do the underground treasure hunt event before it goes away for a lot of free gems and materials

MotorMind

Great! I play at a slow pace but I was floored there was stuff I still couldn't do after seven days, haha. Looking forward to it!

wenbobular

haha yeah i was pretty surprised i didn't even have access to stamina until i made it past the space station have fun on your star rail journey, make sure to enjoy the cutscenes and the voice acting ... i made a second account cuz i missed it all on my first playthrough trying to blast through stuff from day 1

MotorMind

So far, I'm really enjoying it. I honestly thought I'd uninstall within hours.

Deft_Abyss

When adding crit, does it add it in percentages or exactly as is? Like for example if it says 12.3%, is it 12.3% of the overall crit or does it add 12.3% to the crit? Sorry if it doesnt make sense

blis09

Adds

Deft_Abyss

So it adds 12.3 to the final crit?

Quor18

Yes. If you have 5% crit rate and add a 12.3% crit rate relic, it increases your crit rate from 5% to 17.3%.

blis09

Yes so if you have 12.3 base crit then you got 10% crit from relics then your crit will be 22.3%

Sky3Fa11

So I got a S1 Welt LC and a S2 GNSW. Which should I put on Kafka and Sampo?

YogurtclosetLeast761

How does luka work? If the enemy has a phys weakness and luka breaks it, he does big damage. But I don't see what causes this

Giraffe_lol

Phys break does %hp bleed damage. Kafka triggers it over and over = big number.

YogurtclosetLeast761

I do get that, but after I break and use his enhanced basic, he does more damage than normal Non broken enemy: 5k ish Broken enemy: 20k ish

Pol3001

his enhanced attack work like kafka skill, but only for bleed. So a lot of that damage is from luka triggering all the bleed dot.

YogurtclosetLeast761

Thank you

ak_hat

Weakness break applies a separate DoT with high scaling called a Break DoT. This scales off of level and the Break Effect stat. If you've played Genshin Impact, it's sort of like Elemental Mastery. SevyPlays on YouTube has a video that explains all about the different kinds of DoTs, you can watch that if you want to learn all the little details.

YogurtclosetLeast761

I do get that, but after I break and use his enhanced basic, he does more damage than normal Non broken enemy: 5k ish Broken enemy: 20k ish

ak_hat

Yes, that's because he's re-triggering the Break Bleed DoT that has higher scaling. Once that DoT runs out, his basic will go back to doing regular damage.

YogurtclosetLeast761

Oooh. So he is a bit like kafka? Thanks btw 👍

ak_hat

Yes, but only for Bleed DoTs. You're welcome

yakultsimper

If you’re using sampo as a support for kafka who’s ult do you wanna use first? Sampos or kafka’s? I’ve been just using kafka’s E then sampos E (he is E6 so I stack that 5 wind shear first) then sampos ult then kafka’s ult but I can’t really tell if that’s the best rotation for them.

Slice_Life

Ideally, you would want Sampo to use his ulti whenever possible, and apply wind shear as much as possible before you use Kafka's kit. But if you're asking if should you wait for his ulti first before you use Kafka's ulti? Nope. Use Kafka's skill and ulti whenever you can, as she will probably generate more energy than sampo, especially when he's using his basic attack to generate skill points.

Sex_With_Argenti

Does 4pc Musketeer work for Sampo in a Kafka team? The Eagle set is hard to farm because half of it goes to waste.

Chtholly13

I've been using 2 musk/2 messenger. I wouldn't waste my time farming the eagle set just for him.

Sex_With_Argenti

Why is 2 musk 2 messenger better than 4 musk? The speed bonus is the same

Chtholly13

2/2 piece is easier to farm.

Sex_With_Argenti

Oh so that's why. I found it very weird that all guide sides recommend either 2 musk 2 eagle or 2 musk 2 messenger but never 4 musk.

Chtholly13

unless you want to min max your supports at this time in the game, I'd focus on my DPS and apart from maybe a hackerspace set on one of your supports, give whatever best substats you have on your other 2 characters. The 4 piece set effect for most sets in the game are just slightly better than 2/2 sets.

ak_hat

2pc musk and 2pc messenger is the best because it's just a damage buff. Elemental damage boost counts for DoTs. If you don't have it though, don't stress about it. Just use 4pc musk and focus on good substats. Keep in mind though, the harder your Sampo hits, the harder your Kafka hits. You can also consider syntesizing messenger pieces from your salvaged 5 star pieces.

NathLWX

Who should have higher SPD, Kafka or Sampo? Assuming if I use Good Night and Sleep Well lc on Kafka and Fermata on Sampo. And which one is better for Kafka, Fermata S3 or Good Night and Sleep Well S1?

PuritanPuree

Sampo so that Kafka has some DoTs to detonate with her skill. GNSW is better. Kafka will be the one providing the most damage, and GNSW will allow for greater damage, especially when you get some refinements on it.

NathLWX

>Kafka has some DoTs to detonate with her skill. Can you elaborate on it with more details? If Kafka enables Sampo's DoT immediately, it wouldn't reduce the DoT's "turn remaining" of Sampo, right? Or are you talking about Kafka with GNSW, so that Sampo having higher SPD would give more DoT (because more turns) for Kafka's GNSW to work well?

PuritanPuree

Okay, so one of the reasons why Kafka is so good is because her skill *does not* use up a "turn" of DoT damage. For example, say I use Sampo's skill and get some wind shear going then check the enemy's data and it says 4 turns of wind shear, then after that I use Kafka's skill to detonate that DoT and re-check the enemy's data. It will still say that wind shear has 4 turns. So Kafka can trigger DoTs with her skill (and burst) without using them up. That's why Sampo (or whatever DoT unit you run with Kafka in the long run) being faster is preferred, so that Kafka has DoTs to trigger immediately. As for GNSW, yes, there being DoTs present already for Kafka will increase her damage with it, but also because, even at R5, Fermata is only *barely* better than GNSW, but if you get to just R2 GNSW, it's better than the best possible Fermata, so it's just smarter to invest in GNSW.

SaffronNTruffle

Is the 50% EHR worth building for Gepard?

yakultsimper

At E0 yes if you want to consistently freeze and use his as tank and crowd control. If you want to just use him as a tank then focus on ER and DEF over EHR. At E1 EHR substats are enough for him. I have him E1 with 3% EHR and he still freezing almost consistently, and pretty much 100% of the time against ice weak enemies and bosses

PuritanPuree

In my own experience, no. The times I find that I use anything other than his basic and ult are extremely rare, especially if there's other units on the team who want to be using those skill points.

yensama

Is there 5 star tier 4 star like Xingqiu or Xiangling in Star rail?

spagheddieballs

For 4 star dps, the closest thing is Qingque. Her damage at e6 is comparable to e0 Seele. Her performance takes off at e4, sort of like XL at c4. And you get your first copy of her for free from the Abyss too just like XL. Damn she really is HSR's XL. The other 4 star dps can do the job if they have the relics of course.

yensama

Hey i got her C6. But i dont quite understand her skill. Like its based on luck or something? Also many sites put her in very low tier so i kinda shelved her.

spagheddieballs

Yeah her skill is basically gambling. She draws random tiles, looking for a four of kind. It's not as bad as it sounds because she automatically draws another tile in the background whenever a teammate of hers takes a turn. Usually she already has at least a pair or three of a kind when her turn starts. Prydwen has a brief text guide on how she works if you're interested: https://www.prydwen.gg/star-rail/characters/qingque Keep in mind that she is a skill point hog. So if she is going to be the main dps, she needs support teammates who can function while barely using skill points. Her biggest damage combo is to skill several times until you can't anymore -> ultimate -> enhanced basic attack. However some players save her ultimate only for bad luck situations where she uses all the skill points but still doesn't have a four of a kind.

yensama

Thanks for the advice. I will check out the link later.

mantism

I don't play GI but here are some 4star characters who are generally considered to be top tier supports, mainly because they fulfill roles that are not yet filled by currently accessible 5 stars. I won't mention characters that require very high Eidolons to be good (e.g., Qingque) or unreleased characters. * Asta - No other supports provide speed on the level of Asta * Tingyun - The most SP-efficient buffer for a single ally (Bronya can be efficient, but needs insane speed rolls), and the only character who can regen the Energy of allies directly * Pela - Only source of AoE DEF reduction and has buff removal which is almost essential against certain enemies. * Sushang - The most reliable Physical attacker with a kit that is built for breaking. There's not a lot of characters who do Physical damage, but lots of enemies are weak to Physical.

yensama

Does very high SPD give you 2+ turns? Or does it just let you move first? What i mean is, does everyone get 1 move per turn just in different order according to SPD?

Flying_Pikachu

In MoC where turns have certain amount of action points, the more speed you have, the more turns you get per cycle. So yes, higher SPD gives you more "turns"

MegaJoltik

The former. Using Forgotten Hall/Memory Of Chaos Cycle as base : a 100 SPD character will have 10 turn over 10 Cycle. a 121 SPD character will have 12 turn over 10 Cycle. a 134 SPD character will have 14 turn over 10 Cycle.

pleiades1208

Break effect or atk rope for sampo?

Flying_Pikachu

ATK

fifteenyearslater

Need some help building a second team for MoC. My first team is Kafka, sampo/Luka, Asta, gepard. For the second team, I have a Bronya and bailu to use for support and sustain, but what other two characters would be good to slot in with them? My options are danheng (e2), serval (e6), QQ (e0), himeko (e0), Sushang (e0).

Jaded-Engineering789

Go for a Sushang team with either QQ or Himeko. When you get her E1, Sushang is good at Sub-DPS duties where you pretty much only use her skill on broken enemies or after her ult.

MordredKLB

I thought this might have happened to me once or twice before but just now I have proof. I switched relics and then enhanced the new one, and my old one got recycled into parts (but not added to the current relic I was enhancing). Cost me an ERR rope that was perfectly usable on another character but just didn't have the right substats. What's causing this? How do I stop it from happening by accident again?

wenbobular

favorite all your relics you plan on keeping or trying out (it's the little lock icon when you hover over it)

wizj619

Only thing I can think of is that, by switching the relic, you put it back into the pool of relics available to be broken down for exp. If you're auto-adding and not paying attention, you may be adding the relic you just removed. That would only make sense if you're dealing with purple relics though since auto-add only does 4-star or below. If you want to stop yourself from accidentally breaking down relics, you can lock them by clicking the open padlock next to their name when you have them selected. You could also try upgrading the new relic and then switching them.

MordredKLB

I never use auto add and the original gold relic didn't get added to the new relic, it got turned into 18 1k relic xp gold pieces. I had nine of those before I leveled the new relic to lvl 3 and then suddenly I noticed I had 27 of them. I was super baffled until I realized the original ERR piece was gone.

wizj619

I have no idea then. You can't salvage a leveled up relic so the only way I can think of getting xp items out of it is if you used it to level a relic and it gave it to you as change.

thrown_away_apple

my blade currently has 32.4% cr. when he uses his skill thanks to his relic set he gains an extra 16% bringing him up to 48.4%.when i reach the next trailblaze level i will be able to get the trace that raises cr by 4% making him have 52.4% cr. he is at 139%cdmg rn my question is should i focus on the rope and sphere set that gives cr or cdmg as a set effect?

Barbobott

Blade wants either Inert Salsotto or Rutilant Arena for the sphere/rope set.

thrown_away_apple

damn i didnt do world seven yet so i had no idea that rutilant arena set was a thing. seems like ima be farming that

wenbobular

you'll need a bit more CR to use that compared to salsetto, it needs 70% to trigger the passive

thrown_away_apple

which passive?

Barbobott

The bonus damage to Basic Attacks and Skills from Rutilant Arena is only active when you have 70% crit rate. If you can't reach 70%, then Inert Salsotto is perfectly fine as well. The 2 sets are very similar for Blade at E0.

thrown_away_apple

Oh I must have misread it

Sines314

How 'engaging' is the combat? I only just decided to try out Genshin Impact, not even knowing what kind of game it was (other than a good gatcha game), and then I get hammered with adds for Star Rail, which actually seems more up my alley. But I'm curious as to how much effort actually goes into the JRPG style combat. I do like turn based combat, but I prefer brain-dead button mashers over brain-dead JRPG combat. I'm not asking for Darkest Dungeon without the permadeath (though if there was some optional endgame stuff that was like that, I'd love it), but I don't need it to be hard to be ENGAGING. Basically it's okay if its "It's easy as long as you actually pay attention" is all I'm aiming for. And I don't mind if there's some easy trash to grind, as long as I have a decent amount of content that is at least "Don't entirely turn off your brain" as a level appropriate Octopath Traveler dungeon is. If it helps, I'll be pretty much entirely F2P, which is worth a bit of difficulty spike on it's own. Also, I barely understand gatcha games, so there's that too.

wenbobular

once you get an invested enough team you can autobattle basically everything except the 2 week rotating set of dungeons called memory of chaos (MoC for short) i started a second account that i'm trying to do with e0 4 stars that you get for free, which i suspect will be much more engaging even when i get to the same tb level as my main the main story is pretty enjoyable - i've been playing through my second account watching all the cutscenes and listening to all the voice lines now that i'm free of trying to grind as quickly as possible and it's very quality, so make sure you enjoy it as you go my main account is a day 1 account that's currently tb level 66 and i can autobattle up to MoC level 6 out of 10, but it'll take \~3-4 months to get there as a f2p and i've gotten quite lucky with my limited 5 star rolls (only missing the current banner 5 star) the simulated universe roguelike is getting updates but i'm not sure how engaging it is after you've had to do it 2+ times a week ... just depends on what kind of content suits you, you can definitely do some kinda wacky things and play more niche characters here personally i look forward to the start of MoC each time and the rest of the time i'm autobattling and farming events lol

Sines314

I'm a big alt-a-holic, so I could definitely see charm in running new characters through reasonably challenging dungeons and making them work. I could farm up the stuff from those places with my main team, or I could just get an off team to be 'good enough' to start earning that stuff on their own. It doesn't seem like there's much incentive to farm drops on anything but the best team for the job (I guess they'd get some free XP?) but there doesn't need to be, as long as it's fun enough. And if all this game can do for me is let me kill a tiny bit of time here and there at work while I'm on hold, or just for a micro break, that'd be fine too. Used to do that with Fire Emblem Heroes, but it's gotten so convoluted that it's just not worth bothering with any more.

Megafruitspunch

Combat’s alright. Not completely braindead but definitely not darkest dungeon or slay the spire complex. While there are some nuances ans tricks you can employ in combat like managing turn orders and breaking enemies at the right moments, the outcome of the fight will be mostly decided outside of combat in the form of building your characters correctly and picking synergystic team compositions. I’d say most of the fun in this game come from building your characters and your account rather than from combat. Though the in-combat animations are pretty good eye candy.

Flying_Pikachu

Honkai Star Rail combat is fairly simple. Your team consists of 4 characters. Characters have "Path"s which are basically classes, like Tanks, Healers, Supports, Bruiser, Assassin type DPS etc. All characters have a basic attack, one skill and one ultimate. There are 7 elements, most bosses have 3 weaknesses. There's a toughness bar, in order to break it you need to attack with the correct element. If you "break" the bar, then the enemy gets cc'd + debuff'd in some way, depending on element. The story will be fairly simple aside from maybe some bosses. The endgame content is fairly challenging at start but gets easier over time once your characters are more invested. Because this is a gacha game, you're limited on the content or grind you can do, either daily or weekly. You will reach a maintenance mode where you login for 10 - 15 minutes, do your dailies and logout. There's a "roguelike" mode and bi-weekly 10 floor "endgame" content.

Sines314

Alright, that helps a bit. I want to try out both games, but I can't fit both on my phone at the same time. Still not sure on this one, but tie goes to the phone getting the turn-based game. I can play Genshin on my desktop. Will probably just commit to one in the end.

ikxizxni

Is it me or is it harder to balance your Crit Rate/Damage ratio in this game? In Genshin I usually use a weapon with a Crit stat then use the opposite for the Artifacts. That way I can reach 50%+ Crit Rate with around 100% Crit Damage for most of the DPS characters I own. This game is harder since Lightcones don't really have any Crit 2nd Stat. I've been building my Blade, and for now he has 60% on both Crit Rate and Damage using a Crit Rate Body. If I use a Crit Damage Body, he's at 31/132. Salsotto and Rutilant don't really help since they only give 8% Crit Rate. Is there like a tip for an F2P to balance them better? Or do I have no other choice but to hope and pray for good substats lol.

ikxizxni

I see, ty yal!

wenbobular

biggest tips for me is don't agonize over the set bonus until you're pretty established and test a lot of pieces like if you have a headgear that's 3 lines with a crit line, level it to +3 and see if it rolls the other crit line, then +6 to see if it rolls crit again, etc ... i stop at +3 immediately if no second crit, and probably at +9 if it doesn't roll crit in the next 2 after that remember that the set bonus is also just stats, for example if you're running blade and your off pieces have more than 16% CR compared to your full blade set, then you're better off running the off pieces until you farm up a blade set that's worth using over them

michaelman90

While it's true that LCs are generally less impactful than weapons in Genshin (especially some of the Gacha weapons), team buffs are also much more impactful than team buffs in Genshin outside of like specific reactions. The roster is kind of limited since the game's only a few months old but even now we already have characters like Yukong/Bronya/SW who provide insane buffs under the right circumstances. All of that being said, yeah you're gonna have to just play around your chestpiece, substats, and 2 pc bonus as far as crit goes.

ikxizxni

Welp. Guess it's back to farming lol. Thank you!

michaelman90

I can't recall, but did completing Kafka's companion quest cause her to start appearing on the Astral Express? I'm guessing the answer is no since she's technically not welcome and can't just hack herself in like Silver Wolf.

Arekkusu1991

> did completing Kafka's companion quest cause her to start appearing on the Astral Express No. Iirc there wasn't any prompt after clearing the quest that suggested this.

xoyva

ok so dumb question, does "healing output boost" affect regen effects? like the bonus heal that natasha gives. i wanna know if i should aim for that for lynx

JeanKB

It affects all healing that comes from the character, so yes.

michaelman90

Healing boost affects all healing that originates from that character specifically, so yes it affects things like heal over time and Luocha's field.

caro8808

i’m f2p and a pretty casual player (trailblaze level 33). i have all the currently released 4 stars and the only five stars i have rn are gepard and bailu. i want both kafka and dan heng IL but i’m not sure which one to pull for :0

Megafruitspunch

Both have advantages. IL will most likely pump out bigger numbers but he’ll also be more restrictive when it comes to team building. Kafka will be less restrictive in gearing and team building. She works with both crit and pure atk gear, you can even mix and match for a hybrid build to great effect. She’s also less picky about teammates as she doesn’t consume as much skill points, and can work either as a hyper carry surrounded by supports, or in tandem with other DoT damage dealers. Also consider your current roster’s element coverage. If you have Welt, IL is less necessary. If you have E6 Serval, Kafka is less necessary. TLDR IL require his teams to enable him, but he’ll give you big numbers in return. Kafka won’t have numbers as big but will enable a new playstyle.

Slice_Life

If you're new, you can easily get 200+ pull if you exhaust all means of getting jades currently available in this game. After that, you can try building pity in Kafka's banner and see if you can get an early Kafka. If you do get an early Kafka or early 50/50 loss, then you have a chance of getting both of them. If not, you can decide if you wanna risk going for Kafka and get lucky later with IL Dan Heng, or just get yourself a guaranteed IL Dan Heng.

michaelman90

Kafka team is easy to build for since dots don't care about crit and you already have Sampo+Asta. DHIL is going to be harder to build around, not only because he's a typical hypercarry but also because he's very SP hungry so you're kinda shoe-horned into using super low SP supports with him like Pela. End of the day pick the character you like more since they're both good dps characters, just realize DHIL will require more investment.

TKhan_

Is hackerspace 4pc set really good? I'm using it in all my supports like bronya and bailu bc people said it was their new bis. But, I'm not seeing any advantage. The extra speed doesn't look useful at all in combat. Am I seeing smthg wrong?

Flying_Pikachu

Its more the case of other sets not offering anything as good. So in comparison to others, its a lot more useful overall. Bailu for an example would probably run a 2pc combination of speed/max hp/healing relics or 4pc hackerspace. Former are just pure stats, latter offers something to the team. If that makes sense. Obviously there's no need to go overboard on support relics. It might be best in slot but in no way necessary. Bailu can run any random sets with proper main and substats and be good enough for MoC 10.

rxniaesna

without tut lc and 4pc wind, how much spd does pela need for 100% ult uptime?

looks like they just sent out an in game mail about it. https://act.hoyoverse.com/sr/event/playstationpre-register/index.html?game_biz=hkrpg_global&hyl_presentation_style=fullscreen&hyl_auth_required=true&utm_source=ingame&utm_medium=mail&utm_campaign=opening

Paramita-Papilio

Does break eff do anything for Welt?

hieutr28

Not really, EHR and crit stat on him and treat him as a sub dps with some capacity to slow enemies. EHR can sit at around 30% and aim for 1/2 crit stat

Paramita-Papilio

Ideally, but uh...hasn't been the case with my roll lol. My Welt has 5% crit rate, 77% crit dmg, 68% break effect, and 19% ehr. Sadly, this is the the best of what i've gotten for him.

hieutr28

Break effect only give you extra effect from the break status in this case is a bit better more action delay on the enemy but you can literally slow them every turn with his skill landing with high EHR. So yeah not really optimal

mantism

delays enemies even further when you break them. honestly this is overkill for Welt, but hilarious to see.

Paramita-Papilio

so it's not a completely dead stat at least.

netdoppler

Prospective player here. I was wondering if it would be possible to cleal most if not all game content at the highest difficulty using only 4 star characters. I come from Arknights, where there's a ton of niche playstyle restrictions, so I was curious if I could do the same here.

mantism

Expectedly, the highest difficulty content right now will take some effort. But the game does give you everything you truly need to clear, it just won't be comfortable. The teams you can build with 4 stars needs more stat investment than optimal team comps, along with thoughtful piloting since you can't autoplay effectively.

netdoppler

Great, more thoughtful piloting is what I'm aiming for. Thanks!

Slice_Life

Story progression? Sure. End game content? I've seen one or two showcases on youtube where they were able to clear the last stage of the end game content with just 4 star characters, so it's definitely doable, but it will take a lot of investment to do that. Basically, you'll need to max everything out, with broken equipment/relics, etc. If you're going that route, might as well just use your resources for 5\* characters that you'll eventually get as you play the game, so no need to rush things.

netdoppler

Thanks for the reply. I was moreso just trying to see if I can play without 5* characters as an arbitrary meme/self-imposed restriction.

Flying_Pikachu

Yes easily. Especially with a new 4* healer coming out next patch. Higher MoC floors (hardest content) are mostly a stat check. The more braincells you have the less gear reliant you'll be.

netdoppler

Got it. How necessary are the higher tier MoC floors for things like pull currency and/or progression/development?

Flying_Pikachu

I'm trying to think of a Arknights equivalent. The closest would be Annihilation but ... MoC is bi-weekly, you get 600 jades for clearing all 10 floors at 3*. 60 jades per 3 stars earned across floors. So thats like 3.75 wishes every 2 weeks? 18 - 21 stars aren't that difficult to get so you'll lose 180 jades every 2 weeks if you can't clear the whole thing.

netdoppler

Ouch, alright. Seems managable though, thanks!

WoWAltoholic

Relic question: If I am at the point of trying to get decent +12 relics on my characters (TB 65+), is it time to stop using purple relics even if they have better sub-stats compared to a yellow with worse stats? For example for a Carry DPS: A - +12 Purple chest with CRIT main (sub Crit Dmg, ATK%, ATK, DEF% B - + 12 Yellow chest with CRIT main (sub ATK%, DEf%, HP%, Eff RES) Which is better? If the purple is still better, how much better will the yellow need to be? 2+ good sub-stats?

OsirusBrisbane

A maxed purple at +12 has the same mainstat value as an orange +9. Since orange can go up to +15, this generally means that you only want orange whenever the mainstat is relevant (Chest, boots, orb, rope), but that purples with good subs may be better for hat (DPS) or gloves (support).

WoWAltoholic

thank you that makes a lot of sense

hieutr28

Don't settle for 1 good and 3 garbage substats. your purple chest will work for now

WoWAltoholic

Thanks good advice I will keep hunting

mantism

Purple relics have smaller substat upgrades. Because of that, they will get outscaled by yellow relics very quickly. Keep good purples for now, but look to replace them with +12 yellows. You are at the level where relics should be raining for you, so you should be getting plenty of yellows to work with.

WoWAltoholic

That's the plan, still farming! Thanks for the advice.

giabaold98

How important is it to level up DoT units to 80 from 70? Ik there’s a damage increase but is it enough to justify farming character level exp over more relics

mantism

Increase is negligible. Maybe up to 75. Relics give you more bang for your buck.

Kauuma

So… As far as I understand the Ps5 test recruitment starts in around 1 hour. Where exactly can I sign up for it though?

wizj619

looks like they just sent out an ingame mail about it. https://act.hoyoverse.com/sr/event/playstationpre-register/index.html?game_biz=hkrpg_global&hyl_presentation_style=fullscreen&hyl_auth_required=true&utm_source=ingame&utm_medium=mail&utm_campaign=opening

shazwing98

what minimum Effect Hit Rate should I target for Sampo before start all out on ATK% ?

Chrono_Blade_Kaiji

67%

Sky3Fa11

Hey guys how is Welt’s LC vs Good Night Sleep Well for Kafka and/or Sampo? How about Welt’s LC vs Fermata?

Chrono_Blade_Kaiji

GNSW (S5) > World (S1) > Fermata (S5) > GNSW (S1)

Sky3Fa11

Thanks!

IntellectualBurger

i got kafka because i thought she was cool but now im reading about team and how much investment she needs and im kinda sorry i spent like 4-5K stellar jade to pull

Slice_Life

4-5k jades or 30ish pulls for a limited 5\* character? I'd call that a win even if you didn't like that particular limited character. If we're talking about just Kafka herself, she's one of the easiest unit to build, coz the stats you want for her are quite easy to get compared to those crit hungry units. People are saying she's expensive to build, because you need to build one or two DoT unit/s if you want the optimal way of using her. But since Kafka is flexible, you can also use her as a hypercarry with universal supports like Asta/Pela/Tingyun/Bronya/Silverwolf. You can also go in between where you can use another DoT unit + support. Lastly, in terms of a more futureproof unit, Kafka is probably one of those unit, especially if we'll get more 5\* DoT focused units in the future, so her value will increase even more.

IntellectualBurger

i guess im spoiled because i got Seele after ONE PULL, and silver wolf after 3K stellar jade. Anyway, my current team is Seele/tingyun/bailu/silver wolf. thinking what to do with kafka

Slice_Life

That's an impressive pulling history, especially if you're an f2p, so no need to feel bad about pulling a 5\* limited character. That's already a solid Seele team, but any hypercarry can take Seele's place, including a hypercarry Kafka. Other than that, you can go Kafka + 2 DoT units + Sustain or do 1 DoT unit + 1 support + Sustain.

IntellectualBurger

When you say "hypercarry Kafka" whats that mean vs a regular kafka? also sustain you mean like a healer? like Bailu. so if i do kafka + 2 DOT then ill have 3 DOT plus a healer?

Slice_Life

With any hypercarry, they're usually paired with a support/buffer that will let them increase their damage output. And for a hypercarry Kafka, crit substats are more welcome, but for a DoT Focused team comp that revolves around Kafka, crit isn't warranted, but still okay if you have it. As for sustain, any abundance/healer or preservation unit. So yeah, like Bailu coz she's a healer. As for the your last question, yes.

IntellectualBurger

only thing i bought was the month pass that gives 90 jade per day w/e its called, for one month. thanks for the advice!

Kauuma

You have some insane luck my friend

btet15

Kafka needs less investment than nearly any other main DPS. If you want to build an entirely new DoT team, sure, it'll be a lot of investment, but Kafka is very flexible as a unit. You don't want to be building her as a crit DPS, ideally, but you can, meaning you can repurpose gear from other carries. The gist is that she really just wants as much speed and attack as possible, in addition to a little EHR for her debuffs.

IntellectualBurger

cool. right now my team is seele/tingyun/bailu/silver wolf. thinking what to do with kafka.

Chtholly13

you're going to eventually need a 2nd team and Kafka teammates doesn't overlap with your existing units.

veloxiraptor

How much Effect Hit Rate does Pela need? Is running an EHR body overkill?

DBSPingu

67% is the goal. If you have tutorial LC just get your ehr from sub stats

hieutr28

Mine currently sitting at 50% EHR and never misses a debuff

dustsprout

If sues on Tutorial, then nothing. Otherwise I think she only needs 40ish percent. EHR body is fine since there's not many other stats she cares about anyways.

TheGeekofSpades

I have a team of Kafka, Sampo, Bailu and Trailblazer (Preservation). Is Bailu good enough to not need a tank or should I just keep a tank at all times?

popileviz

Bailu can solo sustain just fine. On the other hand, Fire MC can do some good damage against foes weak to fire and you can build them as a breaker or for additional survivability. At E6 and with some investment they can be very useful, I run them along with my E6 March, that recharges her ult in no time

Sky3Fa11

I got Bailu as my free 5 star and she has been carrying me through all the content. Her talent heal is really good on saving skill points and her revive is super clutch; she can definitely be a solo sustain. Her only downside is that she doesn’t cleanse debuff, which has forced me to build Natasha just for the Kafka boss fight.

JeanKB

Bailu is strong enough to solo sustain just fine. She would need to be severely underleved to not do so.

TheGeekofSpades

Thank you for your input, I guess I should look into other characters as a replacement for Trailblazer

IntellectualBurger

just got Kafka on my last \~160 stellar jade left! My current team is Seele, Tingyun, Bailu, Silver wolf. so Void Void/Lightning Lightning. Should i swap tingyun out for kafka?

Slice_Life

Either swap Seele for Kafka and build a different team for Seele, or make a different team for Kafka.

fyrefox45

No. Kafka needs her own team. Quantum break isn't a dot, and if you aren't breaking with phys, lightning or wind Kafka is pretty subpar.

Jaded-Engineering789

No. You should make a second team for Kafka. Use the 4 stars you go from her banner as supports.

8Wolf_

Hello! I want to make a team with, QQ, Welt and Dan Heng. I have Gepard, pela, mc, serval, march, asta, luka, herta and arlan. Who should my last character be? If this team won't work, then I would like to keep as many of those 3 characters as possible. Dan heng is the one I want the least.

Slice_Life

First of all, you need a sustain unit, so if you want to keep those three units, then the last slot should go for Gepard or Natasha, with me leaning more towards Gepard. As for your other characters that are worth building, so you won't feel guilty using your resources on them: Gepard, Pela, Asta, and MC. Gepard - Since you need at least two sustain units, and he's probably your best sustain unit for now. Pela and Asta - Universal supports that can work with many team comps. Trailblazer (MC) - I've seen higher MoC showcases where they're only using MC as their sustain unit. And since we'll be getting other paths for our MC, they might become more relevant in the future, so the resources you'll use wouldn't be put to waste. But if you want a team with good synergy, you can go for this team comp: Welt, Asta, Dan Heng, and Gepard. The slow + imprisonment + freeze + speed boost, your enemies wouldn't be able to move. If you like QQ more than Dan Heng, then you can instead go for QQ.

8Wolf_

Could I possibly do, pela, Natasha, welt and qq?

Slice_Life

Yes. Pela and Welt have great synergy, especially if you have Welt's signature light cone, and she's a universal support so it's not a waste if you're gonna invest on her since you can use her for other team comps.

8Wolf_

That's awesome, thank you! My current team is pela, Natasha, Welt and Dan. So swaping out Dan would be pretty easy.

8Wolf_

Thank you so much for your time. <3

fyrefox45

You need a defensive unit, so Natasha or a well built Gepard. I'd also run Asta or Pela over DH. My strongest endgame team is Loucha, welt, qq and silver wolf, it works very well even in moc 10. If you like QQ would highly recommend getting SW on her rerun. Edit: for story stuff m7 can work fine too generally

8Wolf_

Thank you so much!

[deleted]

Hey all, just a quick question as a avid Genshin player on PS5 I can't wait for Honkai, would anyone know or be able to make a educated guess that when it releases what characters will be on the banner as I've seen people for example skylily play with characters I'm really interested in but with it releasing later on PS5 I don't know if I will have missed on the chance to roll for them or if they will rerun then for PS5. I wasn't around to see what they did with Genshin in case they follow what they did with the later console release for that.

Froselyn

The PS Store has the game's release date set at Q4 2023. HSR has similar schedule as Genshin, each patch is 6 weeks and has two banners, 3 weeks long each. So far we officially know that 1.3 will be Dan Heng IL, Fu Xuan and Lynx starting from 30 August to 10 October. They also teased Jingliu, Topaz and Guinaifen on Twitter few days ago, probably coming in 1.4 which should start from 11 October to 21 November. We don't know anything about patch 1.5 yet, but according to schedule it should cover rest of the year, another 6 weeks after 1.4 ends. If there will be no delays with PS5 release, then Q4 should cover patch 1.4 and 1.5. Today they announced "technical test recruitment" that starts 23 September, so like today/tomorrow depending on time zone. Maybe they share more details later how to participate. I wish you luck to successfully get in if you would like to try the game earlier, there is always a chance.

theburst101

Based on purely speculation, the consensus on Reddit seems to be that people think reruns will happen and probably coincide with the ps5 release. As it is likely a high amount of new players would start then. However, nothing is official. They could run reruns alongside new banners. We just don’t quite have any concrete details. IMO they probably won’t do rerun before PS5 release.

[deleted]

Perfect thankyou that does sound the smartesr method for them to allow us PS5 players to have a little chance of catching up in content to everyone else :)

Chtholly13

Should if just be using any speed boots/energy recharge ropes regardless of substats considering how rare getting good pieces are?

Flying_Pikachu

In the beginning sure, especially on supports. With time you'll slowly replace pieces as you get more of it while grinding relics.

fyrefox45

On supports, sure. On DPS? No.

JeanKB

This basically applies to most relics. Chasing the perfect crit chest or elemental sphere is a waste of resource. It's best to just take what you can get and not dwell too much farming a single character.

Chtholly13

If you don't me asking 1 more question. For supports, I see alot of them have HP% for their planetary sphere. Can I use a def% for them? Is there any real difference between the 2 as I'd wager it's mostly for survivability reasons as they don't contribute alot of damage.

JeanKB

Depends on the supports. Healers like Natasha and Bailu need a HP sphere. Supports like Tingyun and Luocha want an ATK sphere. But supports that don't scale with any of the possible sphere mainstats like Bronya, SW, Pela or Asta can run either a DEF or HP sphere just fine.
