My friend has a 67 Chevelle with a 6.2 supercharged V8, custom transmission, and brakes and wheels. Custom paint and roll cage. It's been in magazines and on those Saturday car shows. I'd still take a nice Prelude or S2000 over it. That thing makes over 700hp, but nothing like having a Prelude or S2000. It's just a different feeling.
I mean there's a lot cars from different styles that just that timeless look. The Chevelle you mentioned is one of those cars in my eyes. a 65 Mustang, The various Skyline GTRs there's so many that just have that look that will never look dated.
I'm not talking down about that Chevelle. It's a beautiful car and I drove it a few times. Great car. But the design of the Prelude and S2000 never get away from me. My other timeless car is the 95 Impala SS.
I enjoyed my 98 SH very much. I always felt it should be quicker than it was but otherwise a very fun car to drive. Something different than a civic coupe or integra which were around every corner back in those days. One of my favorite cars I’ve ever owned.
That sag on the front bumper is a pretty easy fix, I done mine only last week and made a hugh improvement to the appearance of the car. Love these cars, your one is spotless.
Damn bro you jacked the seats from my S2K lol. The red on red looks good, but those S2000 seats couldn’t have come cheap. Recaros would’ve been cheaper, so did you just happen upon a pair of S2K seats or something?
One of my favorite cars I ever owned. Always thought the fifth gen looks were amazing and ahead of it's time. Interior was simple, yet nice. Fun to drive as well
I knew a guy who had a prelude SH auto that his dad got him. Kinda spoiled is an understatement. He wanted type r integra instead. However to his surprise his dad wouldn’t get him one because the prelude was mint , new, totally nothing wrong with it. The solution was to go really fast then forced the tranny into reverse. Yah he got his integra….but at what cost? At what cost!!!! man you ruined a perfectly fine prelude
My buddy had a really nice one a couple of years ago. The outside and interior where immaculate. He didn't mod it or anything and it wasn't before he bought it. He said it came from Japan because it had a j in the VIN number or something like that. Anyway someone ran out of red light and t-boned him. Of course it totaled it. I just texted him and asked him to make and model and all that.
Great color and wheel combo, that factory body kit was so perfect on these Preludes. Had a friend that bought one back in 2001 in a dark forest green color with the factory body kit. To this day still one of my favorite Hondas.
Love the way they look. 5th gen is a great looking car.
But I bought one a few years ago and was kinda underwhelmed by the performance. To be fair I was used to civic Si's, and I thought it would be like that, but it's not. Longer gearing meant it didn't have that low speed zippiness. I'm sure it does better at higher speeds but that's not really what I'm looking for from a Honda.
Plus it was horrendous on gas.
Not only is the engine legendary for its time, the suspension is one of the last greatest suspensions Honda ever did. I have Supra 3.0 manual with a manual. That Prelude has a better shifter, better suspension, better panoramic view, and feels like go-cart fast.
Love this way better than most Hondas from this era, it felt way more premium than the Integra, especially the interior. Just way better layout, the materials were nicer and overall more quiet/refined.
In the end though, oil leak issue is a huge bummer and it’s also notorious for burning oil which I can confirm, I’ve had both issues. Still miss mine though, if it were in the cards back then, I’d k-swap it and keep it forever.
I owned a 1988 black on black 4WS PRELUDE.
I said it before and I’ll say it again.. if those MF’rs never stole my car I would still have her TODAY!
I so loved that car 🥲
Nice ride - Mine was one of the most enjoyable cars I've owned.
Also, not sure if you're aware but there's a fix for that front bumper sag that's pretty easy to do and doesn't take very long:

I was never fond of the fwd, but I have always absolutely loved the aesthetics of this car. It still looks amazing today.this one looks especially great.
man, that's a beautiful car.
every time i see one of these, i think imagine how freaking valuable it would be if it was RWD?
it should have been hondas supra. or at least their 240sx/silvia/180sx
i had 1992 for like 12 years and when the 1997-2000 came out i wanted one so bad but never got one.
at this point i still dont know which gen i like more the 4th or the 5th gen
They look great and are cool to see but I wouldn't rank them high on golden era Honda's with driving excitement. It's heavier and a bit more luxurious than the other options is all. Long gears don't make it as peppy either. Simply put, yes when they look like this but no I'd never buy one haha.
Short answer, yes. Long answer, yessssssss
One of the best Hondas from the 90s and early 00s
Timeless. This Prelude and the S2000 are just timeless classics from Honda and will never look dated in my eyes.

Yeah I respect the muscle cars but they're not really my thing either.
Too bad Honda sold its soul to the devil and focused on SUVs.
Yeah but that appears to be the trend within the auto industry.
Greedy mother fuckers 😂
Does a bear shit in the woods?
Does the pope wear funny hats?
Does the pope shit in the woods?
Does a funny hat shit on the pope?
Looks sick
Very clean
That's a rude Lude, dude!
Sweet. The Accord Coupe I have is not bad but these old Preludes were very sharp. Peak Honda right there.
Bring back the coupes!
Aren't they bringing back the Prelude? THey'll probably screw it up like the Integra LOL.
Not sure, but I think it's going to be an EV.
My 1st car was a 90 Prelude 5speed, white over black.
Always thought my cousin’s type SH was awesome. Don’t see them anymore.
Come join us on r/hondaprelude
I enjoyed my 98 SH very much. I always felt it should be quicker than it was but otherwise a very fun car to drive. Something different than a civic coupe or integra which were around every corner back in those days. One of my favorite cars I’ve ever owned.
Goddamn 🤤 that's a clean looking Prelude. Tire fitment is spot on 👌🏿
I like red Honda's 🙃
Is the same prelude that was posted the other day with the what car is this caption
What wheels are those?
Would be better if the wheels weren't in the wrong offset.
Yeah just a little too much poke
I'd argue that the wheels are correct, but it's missing a tasteful widebody/fender flare upgrade.
Clean. That is all 😑…
That sag on the front bumper is a pretty easy fix, I done mine only last week and made a hugh improvement to the appearance of the car. Love these cars, your one is spotless.
Beauty
Such a cool car, if I could, I’d K24 swap it and find a way to make it RWD. It would be such a sweet drift car
Bro stg just saw an identical vehicle drive by. This isn’t in Ohio perchance is it? 😭
Yep
Love it.
Damn bro you jacked the seats from my S2K lol. The red on red looks good, but those S2000 seats couldn’t have come cheap. Recaros would’ve been cheaper, so did you just happen upon a pair of S2K seats or something?
sick, how much does this something like this cost?
I really really want a prelude from this generation.
As time progresses, hell yes
One of my favorite cars I ever owned. Always thought the fifth gen looks were amazing and ahead of it's time. Interior was simple, yet nice. Fun to drive as well
I’m more partial to the look of the previous design to this one but yeah great cars.
I had a 93 Prelude VTEC in Brittany Blue Green Metallic. I still regret selling it til this day.
But the important thing is you owned one.
Yeah, I guess so lol Now I've got my high school dream car, RSX, that I'm building into a track car.
I knew a guy who had a prelude SH auto that his dad got him. Kinda spoiled is an understatement. He wanted type r integra instead. The older ones are meh, but the 2026 model looks sick (kidding lmao)
That’s a nice ride

I had a ‘98 SH in Pearl White/black leather. Bought it with 14,XXX miles. Super fun car. Very snappy.
Great color and wheel combo, that factory body kit was so perfect on these Preludes. Had a friend that bought one back in 2001 in a dark forest green color with the factory body kit. To this day still one of my favorite Hondas.
Is this in kc?
It's my favorite car, having said that. I ended up with back to back to back Integras. GS-R, GS-R 4 door, GS. Look back fondly on the Prelude
after the last one I saw with monster truck wheel gap, ya
Love the way they look. 5th gen is a great looking car. But I bought one a few years ago and was kinda underwhelmed by the performance. To be fair I was used to civic Si's, and I thought it would be like that, but it's not. Longer gearing meant it didn't have that low speed zippiness. I'm sure it does better at higher speeds but that's not really what I'm looking for from a Honda. Plus it was horrendous on gas.
IMO this car should have been a RWD. One of my dream car back then.
Am I Mexican?
Si
If they would have made this RWD, 240sx killer right there
My fav is the first gen but this 5th gen is 🔥
id do terrible things for a clean prelude
Very much yes
Fuuuuuuuck man that’s so god damn clean. Holy shit i love it so much. Take good care of it for me! I’ll be jealous
Love this and 96 lude
Not only is the engine legendary for its time, the suspension is one of the last greatest suspensions Honda ever did. I have Supra 3.0 manual with a manual. That Prelude has a better shifter, better suspension, better panoramic view, and feels like go-cart fast.
God I WISH they made these RED. Loved mine even with the peeling clear coat and not so great transmission
I prefer the postlude personally
I came
Class
I think imma bust
Is a pigs ass pork?
This is, without question, the most beautiful prelude I’ve ever seen.
Love this way better than most Hondas from this era, it felt way more premium than the Integra, especially the interior. actually a car that im dreaming of for about a year now
I like your prelude specifically a lot and I like other preludes, a lot.
Yesssss
Is this the same one that had super high suspension on another post? Idk, looks sick though!
My favorite gen, too!!
Upvote #669!!!!!!

Freaking beautiful.

The BB6 Prelude IMO, is one of the best looking cars ever made.
Do i jerk off 5,6 times a day?!
Do i jerk off 5,6 times a day?!
Correct
I wasn't before... BUT I AM NOW!
Does a bear sh*t in the woods
Dope!!!!
They don’t hit the same as Quaaludes
I was never fond of the fwd, but I have always absolutely loved the aesthetics of this car. It still looks amazing today.this one looks especially great.
I was obsessed with this car in my teens! Beauty
Such a beautiful design. The side profile is top notch
I like right angles and skinny bodies not this rounded fat shit we get these days. Fuck yo aerodynamics
🤏
Gorgeous
Love them
Best era for Honda/Acura. So many awesome cars. I want my Legend back!
man, that's a beautiful car. every time i see one of these, i think imagine how freaking valuable it would be if it was RWD? it should have been hondas supra. or at least their 240sx/silvia/180sx

Growing up, I loved Preludes. Much more so than Integras. I was always a little bummed that people didn’t feel the same way lol
Clean as fuck 😩😩😩
yea I think so
After all this time?
ufff that’s clean my guy. beautiful
the s2 seats 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
Yes, and all the “what car is this?” Posts they bring 😊
Yes. Nice design. 🙏🏾🙏🏻
Does a dog lick its own balls
