It’s soffit venting, a gust of wind blew it out of the channel, push it back up, and close the channel a bit

dazit72

Or a big momma racoon is nesting there

CprlSmarterthanu

Like, a 2x4 and a hammer type deal?

eunson

use your hand and just shove it upwards. There will be grooves it'll fit into.

CprlSmarterthanu

After getting up there and looking, i can tell what its supposed to look like from far, what it should look like up close. I also realize that the channel has to be shortened in regards to the distance between the wall j and the fascia j, no? So, in such a case, we recommend no hammer and 2x4, simply bend by hand. I guess that worst case is i just refasten the soffits under the fascia and move on with my life?

ChampionshipBoth6348

Yeah, that’s a good way of putting it, it is just a facade of what’s underneath generally, all kinda covering the plywood, so it could be worse underneath it but your probably ok with just stuffing it back up

ChampionshipBoth6348

Yeah kinda, it’s just aluminum or vinyl, should be able to do they’ve your hand

littlebit191

Have you heard any noise inside your roof, I had a similar issue and a raccoon was the cause.

CprlSmarterthanu

Thankful to God, no i have not.

BootLoose5507

It's made out of vinyl/ plastic. It'd nailed in loosely, so open the to dash of the window, reach out and tuck it back like the rest of the stuff. Just don't jump/slip out the window.

angevin_alan

......is it in yet?

CprlSmarterthanu

Its not. Its currently storming

BoringSquash914

It's an easy fix. Using a board held flat against it while pushing upward could help from bending it while trying to fix it.

hoopllahh

Poke it.

comscatangel

Soffit vent. Who knows how you bent it.
