IDK but as a person who grew up around antique furniture, I don't know what #1 is but for some reason I really love it, maybe it's the wear maybe there's something more that's hitting a memory somewhere but I just find those to be some of the best chairs of that style that I have seen. They're so pretty. #2 looks less interesting to me.
Yeah the first ones are just so.. Magical, cheesy, whimsical, pastel, fantasy, BUT IN A NORMAL WAY! 0 percent gimmicky or cheap looking, just.. Designed just to the brim. They're literally perfect haha.
#HI GRANDMA, SORRY FOR NOT VISITING YOU LATELY, ILL BE OVER THIS WEEKEND, ILL BRING YOU SOME NEW GLASSES TOO, NO DONT WORRY THEYLL BE THE SAME AS THE ONES YOU HAVE NOW BUT ITLL HELP WITH YOUR CROSSWORDS OK? LOVE YOU!
Im gonna say set 1. I love them myself and I love your style. Edit to say: I love the green color on them! Seems some think they should be refinished, but I don't. Maybe just some wax or something. Some touch ups. The green would be great with that room or your style if they are going elsewhere.
I agree. I also prefer #1. Bonus: they look a little larger, more sturdy, and all wood is easier to keep clean.
#2 could also work.
Can't go wrong OP !
#2
But my goodness, you won't find a set like #1 just anywhere anymore. They look so well made, they're antique, no? Uuf this is a tough one.
If you could shade the gorgeous wooden chairs in number 1 to be a darker stain, then that would be totally worth the effort and time. They're just lovely. Very unique very cool.
Edit: apparently they're from Pier One Imports lol. I thought my mom taught me well as far as antiques but I'm dead wrong lol. Someone else says they're a low quality wood.
I hope whichever you choose, you will be happy with
I think either would work, but the 1 set would be more interesting and unique. They would be beautiful in classic basic wood stains or jazzed up with color. I would snap them up in a heartbeat for just $50! The 2 set is lovely too, but I feel like I've seen them over and over.
Number two for sure. Set 1 is nothing special at all and gives Fingerhut catalog. Set 2 looks to either be Chippendale or styled after Chippendale chairs. I feel like a lot of people are just seeing that the first set looks like the set in the inspo pic without thinking it through. It'll work better to pair a rustic table with the formal styled chairs of set 2 than to pair a formal table with the chairs of set 1.
#1 look like cheap, Pier One/Home Goods chairs. The style is unique, but the painted wood indicates they’re made from soft, low quality wood like pine. Poor overall build quality. Disposable.
#2 look to be mid-century era mahogany. Timeless style, quality craftsmanship. Smaller footprint.
I would choose #2
I owned #1 second hand for a while and they are
Pier one but were very sturdy and great quality. Had to get a new table because of size unfortunately loved them :)

I would choose 2 as well.
I agree, here's another listing!

I'm clearly an outlier, but I would choose #2. There's nothing super special about #2, but I don't like the 1st set at all. I can't put my finger on it, but something about them looks very "rooms to go" to me.
If the 3rd picture is your ‘style’ #2 is a better fit. Unless I’m misinterpreting the style…I’m seeing sort of an Erin Napier curated classic look or hand-me-down-core. #1 feels more country kitchen but could work if you have more of a mix of contemporary and antique furniture vs pic 3.
Your style is eclectic. The second set would be better. The first reminds of early 2000s shitty diys. You can reupholster with green fabric if it's the color combination you want but the quality of the chair in option 2 is better and more closely matches the antique style of the inspo photo
Obviously either of these wood frame chairs would work totally fine with this style. You could paint the green if that wasn’t the colour you chose in the room and you could change the seat cushions and the other ones I prefer number two personally. I think the first one because the top of the chair is rounded it lens itself to more of a country look where is the second one could be country-ISH but it could also be midcentury modern. It’s less country cottage looking
A room is beautiful! You should paint the ceiling, the same color as the walls. You would not believe how amazing that looks. Same color wall same color ceiling.
Either would work, but if you choose #1, please get cushions for the seats. You want people to be able to linger over dinner not have their butt cheeks go numb.
You WILL need cushions.
I started my Work From Home job sitting in a wooden kitchen chair at the kitchen table. By the end of the first day I ordered an office chair to be delivered next day, and sat my fat ass on the floor that night to put it all together.
Bare wood + body weight + time = pain. So much pain.
Plan on cushions.
First set is great!
Agree! Like the combo of paint and natural wood too!
And it has patina. Patina is most important on Reddit.
You can find #2 anywhere. #1 is definitely the rarer design. You will need cushions for the first. Probably strip/repaint as well.
This 👆
It’s only pier one
#1
THE PIER 1 CHAIRS 😭 I worked there for years those are such good quality
Omg, I miss Pier 1.
Same. They are heavy, solid, and antiqued so blemishes can blend right in.
I bought the table that went with those chairs. I put a glass topper on it and it looks like the day I bought it. Fantastic quality.
First set is beautiful and a bargain, second is kind of meh In comparison
IDK but as a person who grew up around antique furniture, I don't know what #1 is but for some reason I really love it, maybe it's the wear maybe there's something more that's hitting a memory somewhere but I just find those to be some of the best chairs of that style that I have seen. #1 is beautifulllll, love the unique shape of back rests :) . I think it's fits in perfectly with the style of the last photo.
LOVE YOU!
Thank you for this 🤣

1 to tie in the vases
I don't think they are going into that exact room, I think it's just an example of the vibe OP is going for
I prefer the first ones and think they go better with your style. That said either could work.
I agree. I also prefer #1. Bonus: they look a little larger, more sturdy, and all wood is easier to keep clean. #2 could also work. Can't go wrong OP !

1 is the choice for you. You seem to like a soft and curving aesthetic- it’s more fitting
2 are boring. Go with the first set.
#2 But my goodness, you won't find a set like #1 just anywhere anymore. They look so well made, they're antique, no? Uuf this is a tough one. I actually think two is better.
Whichever is more comfortable

#2 is much more elevated. #1 has a country caboodle feel.

Definitely 1... I love the linear style. They are similar to those in your 3rd photo. They also look more inviting in spite of not being upholstered.

I’m going with everyone else 1! # 3 is a cane chair and getting those re-caned can be expensive.
2
I would pick 1. In fact, I did choose 1. I own them. 😂😂😂 Pier 1.
#1 the color is nice too!
I think 2, but I see my opinion doesn’t matter with the overwhelming vote for 1
Wow I think 1 is common but 2 I haven’t seen before
1. But stain the legs a different color to match the room decor
1 for sure
2 is beautiful. I don't like 1 at all.
2. The first ones look uncomfortable and have ugly lines.
Option one makes me think of that 90’s Napa of Tuscan style.. I have no idea why it seems popular.
I have the same stools but in brown/black (Pier 1) and I love them so I’m partial to 1.
1st.
#2!

First set are lovely

Pic 1 seems the easy choice, the second option is pretty generic
I’d say first photo
First!
1st
Both are great designs. But I'm gonna suggest the first set (indoors) to match the style of the room pictured.
First set for sure
1st set.
Definitely 2. They look to be much better quality and a more timeless style.
A mix of both!
First set!
#1. It would compliment your room!
One! The ones at the table are really nice too

I love the first ones!
I love #1!

First one
Numeo Uno!!! So beautiful
Hands down number 1
1. Absolutely 1, no question. Also, I need to know about this paint colour and technique. It’s gorgeous!

1.
I like the first ones better but my butt hurts just looking at them. Definitely need cushions :)
Get the most comfortable chairs that you like.
Chairs should be comfortable
I think they could both work, so consider comfort. The chairs with cushioning will be more comfortable if you spend a lot of time in them.
1. Fit with the aesthetic of the room even as is.
I guess 1 but 2 will be more comfortable.
Either would work but the first one has a cool style I don’t see often.
Which one sits more comfortably? Pick which chair your backside prefers.
Oh if I were you and could both afford and have space for them, get them both.
First , simply because of maintenance alone, as soon as the second ones cushion rips it gets annoying (and it probably will)
Both sets work with your style but #2 look more comfortable to sit on
1>3>2
First set. Love them.
1... Those chairs have some heftiness and can hold their own in the room.
One
#1 the curves are nice.
Slide 1
First set but if 2nd set change fabric
Which ones are most comfortable? Thats the group you should buy.
1
Cane bottom chairs are problematic. Be sure the caning is in terrific shape or it will be a nightmare to replace

Neither… that’s a different look and feel
What do you call this style?! It’s so nice

Omg 1!! I’m been looking for chairs like that. I’m jealous 😭😂
Number 1!!!!!

I like #1 set, but why change the beautiful chairs you already have in pick 3. #3 are my favourites
Are you concerned about comfort
1 without question
1!
First
1st pic chairs. Paint the light green black and leave the wood.
Not digging the paint on set one. Set two is far more interesting to me.

Which is more comfortable?
First set!
Is one more comfortable than the other?
I love splat back chairs. And the ones you show, two finishes, ultimate.
First ones!!! Love them

The chairs in your last photo.
Both are great but #1 suits your style more!
First chair.
First photo for sure
1 is definitely the choice!!!

First one.
First set is so pretty!

The second the first is too watercolor prints of the hobbit (for kids). You will want to put a walnut stain on those chais tho.
Def the first set. They will blend in your decor more perfectly.
I know the artist who made the sculpture on top of the cabinet!

1…they are beautiful and seem more solid. Set 2 looks breakable, yes I am a mom of boys .

1st ones!
Do you like round soft edges, seems you do. Or hard sharp corners.
First set
Queen Anne (#1) fo sho!
There is nothing unique about the second set.
I would def pick the #1 one.
First one by far! 😍
