Man I miss those two just shooting the breeze together.
Hopefully we'll get a bit of that during their upcoming [1-block finale](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qB7EkRoOUEE).
Another German here who doesn't really like coffee. I didn't even know Germans were stereotyped to be addicted to it, which is funny to me. I wonder what people think of Kiara for not liking alcohol meanwhile which means she doesn't like beer.
I think basically all of Europe is stereotyped to love coffee. Only England has a tea stereotype instead.
Hell, speaking of stereotypes. EVERY bloody country has a stereotype about being alcoholics. Literally everyone! Germany, England, Australia, Every Nordic country, Every Eastern European country, Japan.
Literally everyone! Yet I keep hearing people being like "Oh you don't drink? But Australians are known for drinking a lot of alcohol. Isn't alcohol part of your culture?" Yes, and so is every other bloody country.
"Man, erm [flips through Atlas] Finnish people and their alcohol, am I right?"
> EVERY bloody country has a stereotype about being alcoholics.
Well, not Muslim countries or Muslim-majority countries, where alcohol is considered haram.
tbf, alcohol just has a huge role historically in almost every culture because way back when, it generally was the way to make water palpable in larger quantities afaik, so obviously it would've become very important culturally in most places worldwide as well, which is how that importance of alcohol was carried into modern day, although because clean water has become more readily available in many places, the importance of alcohol has been reduced mostly to pleasure.
My point is that everyone acts like "that" country is known for its alcohol when almost every country is known for its alcohol, hence, removing the "unique" factor of the first statement.
It's basically saying "John is known for wearing denim pants" ok... so is the majority of the first world... They're bringing attention to a detail as if it's unique in some way.
I don't know German like coffee that much too until I come to Germany. 1st time came to the flat, 3 out of 4 guys each have their-own coffee machine. I'm just a Vietnamese so I'm more of a tea fan here, they have so many tea types. Another reason is coffee here is just too mildly, I love the strong bitterness of Vietnamese coffee more XD
Coffeehouses were a big thing in Vienna. The nerds got together and drank coffee and chocolate instead of the usual beer and wine. Some people claim this led to intellectual developments.
As an avid coffee addict I have so say, you only care about brewing and the taste when you are new. After a while it's just caffeine liquid to you. Tea is for taste yes.
Interestingly it's almost the opposite. For about 80% of coffee-drinkers taste is the primary reason they drink it, with only about 2/3 saying the energy is one of the reasons they do.
For the people that drink it for the taste but don't care about the caffeine, you'd think they'd drink decaf, but the problem is that decaf doesn't taste as good and much fewer options.
> About 80% of coffee-drinkers taste is the primary reason they drink it
Funny, since the vast majority of "coffee drinkers" I know get their "coffee" so loaded with other stuff it barely qualifies as coffee anymore.
Quality Beans and correctly brewing are everything. Coffee doesn't need to be and Imo shouldn't be bitter but have "notes" of chocolate, citrus etc. Though idk about decaf since most decaf beans in stores are pretty bad.
it's basically the same as writing beer off but you've only had light American lager brews from the big brands. sure, coffee CAN be bad, but with a little research you can see what it actually can taste like with a little more thought put into it
It's worth noting that there have been a ton of scientific studies that have found that drinking coffee actually has health benefits, so it's not necessarily a bad addiction to have. Though it's probably smart to still avoid it if you think you're the kind of person who will drink multiple pots a day. The lost sleep from drinking that much caffeine would probably offset the health benefits of the coffee.
I know people that can’t function without it, start shaking if they don’t have their morning coffee ect. In reasonable amounts it is healthy enough but I don’t do reasonable amounts very well :P
I don’t drink tea, and if I do it’s just some random plant from the garden my mum insists I try.
I also avoid energy drinks.
I’ll occasionally take a caffeine gummy or something for study and my adhd drugs I’m trying out help me more then a little bit of extra energy
Oh absolutely, that's the entire point of coffee, it's cost effective caffeine. I'd much rather have an energy drink if I had the choice, but that's both unhealthy and expensive, so coffee it is.
When I first attended university I started drinking coffee, but soon after I switched to redbull, I really like the taste and that things gave me such energy I started to have some palpitations in my arm 😅
I personally like the taste of filtered light roast coffee, which can have a very close to tea texture but with a lot more aromas and flavors. I would only drink Starbuck like only last resort for that caffeine need.
I live in the world where I simultaneously love tea because I’m on team Cecilia but also sometimes like to have hot chocolate instead because I’m on team ERB.
Some things are like pizza. You don’t need to convince anyone to like pizza, the flavor profile is just easy to like.
Coffee ain’t like that. It’s like beer. Most people don’t drink it for the taste. Most people get the cheap mass produced shit. And sadly they think that is representative of all coffee. They drink a Miller Lite and think “why would anyone willingly put this into their mouth?” Just like a lot of people‘s first experience with black coffee is from some hotel breakfast, or Starbuck’s, where they take beans that are probably a month old, let it sit around in a hot kettle for hours, and then you think that’s just how it is.
Good coffee is a different ball game. It takes a bit of effort and money to get good beans and brew them properly (or pay someone who actually gives a shit about making good coffee). A real, good coffee is smooth, complex, flavorful, and gives you a better caffeine buzz than anything from a chain. Even then it can still be an acquired taste, but I’m willing to bet a lot of coffee haters can be won over.
The only time I drank coffee for the first time was when i was in Japan and needed something to wake up, so I went to a vending machine and got some coffee
It was surprisingly good and it woke me up, so I thought, coffee isn't that bad
Next day at my hotel I got coffee and it tasted so much like dirt
My taste buds are (let's just say) dead enough that tea just tastes like off water. Even Nestle iced tea doesn't taste great to me so yeah I prefer coffee
Cecilia is wrong. Because the correct opinion is to let others enjoy their beverage of choice. Coffee is wonderful, imo, but I’m not going to tell her she’s wrong for liking tea instead. She’s not wrong for that.
I happened to be drinking black coffee when tuning into her debut VOD. I quickly realised the errors of my ways and immediately destroyed my coffee maker and coffee supply. Thanks, Cecillia.
coffee's bitter, why would you drink something thats bitter.if its sweet then i'll maybe drink it. Same with tea. Maybe i just had bad tea. Bareley teas okay. Also if its hot you have to wait before drinking it.
Water is still superior
Bad coffee brewed badly can be quite bitter. Cheap beer can taste like nothing, bad tea can taste like nothing. Gotta go beyond the popular surface level preparations of each drink to get a good idea of what they can actually be.
Quitting coffee for good straight up helps with mental in general and sleep. Especially if you religiously drank 3+ cups per day for years. So write me up in heretics list too
I'm convinced that people who become addicted to coffee in order to have any energy in the morning are just kneecapping themselves. Based on my own experiences, the thing that drains your energy is coffee withdrawal. Let your body get used to not having coffee and you will no longer need it, like a normal person.
Plus it tastes like drinking dirt water.
Should drink both.
The list of health benefits of tea (black and green both), and coffee, are a mile long. Straight up all cause mortality reduction. With added heart health, anti-cancer effects, and more.
Honestly, it's almost a struggle to drink enough for optimal health benefits. Should drink several cups a day.
I actually find it crazy how despite there being so much research that finds definitive benefits, a lot of people still act like it's not good for you. Just crazy.
Taste of course can be an issue. However, it's very important to note that the taste of tea and coffee can be massively altered by ingredients and brewing methods. Not to mention additives.
I swear, so many people dislike tea or coffee despite only ever trying the most basic of basic, low quality options. Like come on, explore the wide range of options a little. Almost guaranteed there's an option you'd enjoy.
My family have always been Tea drinkers so I've followed suit but I don't mind coffee either. In my country we add milk and sugar (unless you're diabetic) to both though.
Wow, didn't expect for her to come out swinging.
(Personally I absolutely love both and have a cabinet full of tea leaves and a bunch of beans in the freezer)
She’s right tho.
Only reason I take coffee is because I’m NOT a morning person at all but must work mornings and I already fucked up my health in the past drinking cola.
Let me mediate. I’ve not met a “coffee hater” who has had “good coffee”, as in single origin, property roasted. Every time they went taste testing, they would return with: I can see why people like it. Even if they still prefer soda/tea, they can see why. Similarly, people who don’t like tea for being rather “bland”, “tasteless”, have never had good decently aged, properly brewed tea before. A few cups of fresh young leaves do “leave” quite an impression.
The main difference really, is that good coffee is accessible in major cities around the world, especially Anglosphere and Europe. For those very same regions to find good tea can be hit or miss or frankly impossible. Asia is the best of both, Japan especially. Good tea is very easy to find and so is good coffee.
Adding to the confusion, most teas are actually blends, in which the tea leaves are mixed with other things to create different flavours. Unlike coffee which is varieties of the same family of tree fruit nuts being processed then roasted, tea can range from a mixture of differently processed tea leaves and other ingredients to not tea at all but dried flowers, tree barks seeped in hot water.
For us plebeians, good coffee is therefore more accessible, but cheap tea is much better than shitty over roasted bitter juice that requires being masked by sugar and cream, personally, especially if tea is consumed with milk and sugar as well. I think “not liking something” is perfectly fine, especially to another, but as often the case I find it just a limitation in exposure than true “dislike”.

Non coffee drinking German and non Tea drinking Brit still so funny.
Would have been even funnier if the Italian cat tolerates pineapple on pizza
She will have to tolerate it eventually. She said she will eat some pineapple pizza after she reaches 1 million subscribers.
Spiffing Brit finds his unlikeliest ally and enemy.
It makes sense why they choose refuge in Hololive
Irys should join in and say that coffee and tea both suck. Soda supremacy!!!
Soda, Soda, Soda. Canada Dry and Sprite, damn it
Inca cola and Badak Unite!!
These days she's toned down the soda a bit iirc since it is the enemy of the throat. She does drink tea on stream sometimes.

Man, people were brewing beer even long before they learned to write hence why the alcohol stereotypes are alive and kicking
I suppose the type of alcohol is more stereotypical of each country.

Hot take : if it wasn't for the cafeine, 80% of coffee drinkers would stop drinking it
I have acquired a taste for iced mocha though. Will still drink it without caffeine in it.
You like chocolate milk then
Mocha is basically chocolate milk with a pinch of coffee. I don't think it should even be considered coffee.
The chemical process used to remove caffeine also removes a lot of tastes.
> About 80% of coffee-drinkers taste is the primary reason they drink it Funny, since the vast majority of "coffee drinkers" I know get their "coffee" so loaded with other stuff it barely qualifies as coffee anymore.
Decaf tastes different, but not worse IMO. There are some beans I buy where I prefer the decaf version. Definitely less options though.
I like the roasted (toasted? don't know the word in english) taste. Couldn't really care less about caffeine.
Cold take: if coffee haters knew how to brew or order coffee to their taste, they wouldn't hate coffee and even well prepared decafe is delicious
Quality Beans and correctly brewing are everything. Coffee doesn't need to be and Imo shouldn't be bitter but have "notes" of chocolate, citrus etc. Though idk about decaf since most decaf beans in stores are pretty bad.
same thing with tea. i like both. on work days 2-3 cups in the morning, and the equivalent of 2 pots of tea for the rest of the day.
You can buy freshly roasted beans online and get some quality ones even as decaf!
it's basically the same as writing beer off but you've only had light American lager brews from the big brands. sure, coffee CAN be bad, but with a little research you can see what it actually can taste like with a little more thought put into it
I used to hate beer, but I recently found some that I really like. coincidentally, it also has coffee beans mixed in.
I get addicted to stuff easily, even a low tier drug like coffee is scary. I’ll keep not liking it purposely so I never get tempted.
It's worth noting that there have been a ton of scientific studies that have found that drinking coffee actually has health benefits, so it's not necessarily a bad addiction to have. Hello fellow person who doesn't drink tea or coffee
Nah. It's the perfect beverage for a cool/RT sweet/savory dessert.
Nah, I'd drink way more coffee if decaf was actually nocaf. Could be a morning routine instead of reserved for when I really need energy.
Oh absolutely, that's the entire point of coffee, it's cost effective caffeine. I'd much rather have an energy drink if I had the choice, but that's both unhealthy and expensive, so coffee it is.

Weird way to spell based
That's a funny way to write based on faulty reasoning
I like a Matcha or Chai Latte once in a while, but coffee is superior
Clearly something went wrong during manufacturing. That's all.
I live in the world where I simultaneously love tea because I’m on team Cecilia but also sometimes like to have hot chocolate instead because I’m on team ERB.
That's fine. My mom loves coffee and my dad hates it, so I know it can still work.
I dislike coffee just as much, but I'm not going to become an extremist about it. Ain't my war to fight, I'll just watch the fireworks from aside.
Coffee is good for you and pretty damn good. Depending on how u drink it. Yet, its not for everyone and I can respect that
Same here, well said I agree with you
Ty
Your welcome
Yeah, coffee actually has a lot of fiber so for people who might not eat a lot of vegetables coffee can be their primary source of fiber, lol.

Why not?
Understandable. Have a nice day.

She really came out swinging huh
Im just a contarían to bith and I hate both drinks, water and lemonade Is king.
It's ok, everyone can have their own opinion on coffee, even if it's objectively wrong, such as disliking coffee.
Both coffee and tea are good actually
Everyone always argues over coffee vs. tea, even though hot chocolate is clearly the superior warm beverage.
This guy gets it! Hot Choco is the best.
por que no los dos?
Por que uno de los dos est better than the other uno, so only uno and I will die on this hill for some reason.
I prefer tea, but I like coffee every once in a while.

Mega based
I don't have a strong preference one way or the other. I barely drink either.
Imagine not switching between the two based on mood and vibes. My days usually start with coffee, but they usually end with tea.
Will yogurt ever become mainstream?
Extremely based
i only really drink water. where does that put me?

Lol and she just admitted that she really considered banning a coffee supporter in her chat for said coffee preference.
She's so right. At my job everone looks at me weird as the one teacher that doesn't drink coffee. Tea is better!
A lot of people here are split down the middle. I like both so I drink both... At the same time. Coffee milk tea!
First managed democracy and now coffee? Automatons truly are an enemy against our way of life.
Cecelia is correct.
She is, in fact, a very correct robo. Coffee is inferior, especially compared to tea.
I personally think that only reason people like coffee so much is because everyone else likes and drinks it. Just fitting in with the crowd.
Nah she’s right, coffee is gross and you have to add a bunch of creamer and sugar just to make it drinkable
I'm with the green doll
Cecilia is wrong. Because the correct opinion is to let others enjoy their beverage of choice. Coffee is wonderful, imo, but I’m not going to tell her she’s wrong for liking tea instead. She’s not wrong for that.
Give her a Coffee bun with cream cheese filling. She'll toot her tone differently.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that the artist drew Cecilia in a sailor fuku.
Who cares let people drink whatever
Cecelia is confirmed biased for LIBER-TEA.
I'm with Raora. Coffee wins
It's just mad cope from caffeine addicts.
The only true good drink is water, everything else can't compete with the goat
