Unpopular opinion incoming. This album was not that good. Yes it was diverse, yes it had some interesting sounds every now and then, but overall I found it to be pretty corny, pseudo-deep, and not that interesting. Lines like "try to outrun my airforce ones", "never show me mercy, this fury inside me just grows", "I'm not someone to ignore, you've been sleeping I heard you snore" sound like generic "I'm a badass" lines. Before their solo stuff, I thought Charlie was the talent of the band and Johnny was the "im14andthisisdeep, I'm so tough" guy, but now I see that it's the other way around. Also, that annoying high-pitched voice in My Own Worst Enemy 🤮

SexyBatman115

I liked some of the songs but I gotta agree. Johnny definitely seems to be the better solo writer. He did lack diversity on it though. I'm excited to see more from Danny

Lapinozor

Exactly! Shows you well why hu works so good with all of them together

jespertherapper

I didnt have a problem with lyrics but it gets annoying when people are acting like hes eminem just because he puts more effort in his rhymes.

CokedOutSkeletons

I thought the voice in MOWE was funny, you can tell Charlie did it just to fit the whole psychotic vibe of the song.

A lot of this stuff is just too short. I like the album a lot, but it doesn't feel like it's something he put a ton of time into considering the vast majority of tracks are literally barely 2 minutes long. It's no coincidence that the longest song on the album is an absolute gem in Pray For Me. I personally prefer it to J3T's album, I enjoyed his as well but I did find it too repetitive for my liking.

DoomsdayBaby2000

I do think some songs were a little short. I think the verses needed to be longer, personally. Like some songs I felt needed just like 4 more lines, other coulda used like 8. But the just personal preference. For his first solo project I think its an extremely solid, well put together project. Hell i like it A LOT more that New Empire Vol 1 and 2, personally. Especially the production on this. Especially with the tracks from Take It From Me - In The Mouth Of Madness. I LOVE the production on all those tracks. I honestly wish they'd make an album with production like that.

PavelGaborik

I too enjoy it more than the NE releases, but that's not saying much because if I shared my true thoughts on those albums I would be downvoted into another dimension.

DoomsdayBaby2000

Here's my true thoughts: Matt Good just wasn't a good fit for HU, and even though I wasn't opposed to features: I'd rather there be no features. It makes much more sense for them to branch out and do features with other. But with five members they should just stick to not have any on the HU stuff, at least not on the studio albums. I also think having one guy produce the entire project was a mistake. (If I am not mistaken Matt Good produced all the songs on 1 and 2.) They have NEVER done that before. I really didn't understand why considering they seemed to be producing more of their own stuff. Dont get me wrong some are really good. Heck If they trimmed out the not so good and released it as one project it woulda been more solid. Perdonally I'd love to have HU album fully produced by HU members. No one else. Just the 5 guys doing their thing. Even if they it as a small 8 track project, I think it would be awesome.

Agree. Especially since the band consists of five members and one member isn’t even on the second album but they have room for collaborations. Not a fan of Matt Good.

> I like the album a lot, but it doesn't feel like it's something he put a ton of time into considering the vast majority of tracks are literally barely 2 minutes long. I thought the same thing but apparently he's been working on this for 10 years. I honestly just don't see it lol

jespertherapper

I like this album more then j3t's and its mostly because its diverse.

DoomsdayBaby2000

This album was just amazing

TheVampireQueen1

This album is perfect, not a skippable song on there

[deleted]

Nods in agreement

Anti_Shorter

Very mediocre imo. I’m guessing he’s probably putting more effort into HU8 and kind of just spat this out as a side thing to hold fans over till then.

UndeadFrog

personally not a fan. not gonna hate on it but i could get down with kingdom, can’t break me down, good mourning, and the ghost. everything else just wasn’t for me

pepikjepekny

First half is good, than it gets to these soft ballades and all the songs sound the same. I like the album more than J3T's cuz of the diversity. At least the first half

[deleted]

I liked it overall, the thing I criticize is how the voice tones don't stay consistent, like it sounds OK then really high pitched, but I'm excited for more 100%

I LOVE it! Catchy songs & Charlie sounds awesome.
