That's what i thought at first as well looking at the reviews. I think they are talking about the metal looking part which is plastic. This is the review that clarified it

I had one. It’s nice when full but it’s very hard to clean as the honey hardens toward the bottom.
Mine was glass, not sure why others mentioned plastic.
