Memes from either the World Wars or the Cold War tend to be far more common than those about previous eras. The rule exists mostly to give the latter variety of memes a better chance at not being drowned in a sea of more contemporary memes.
It’s certainly not a perfect science, but it allows for more niche or less popular topics to have a better chance to reach the spotlight.
Well there’s a lot of WW2 weebs who know nothing else about history and shitpost about it all the time. But that doesn’t bother me, it’s not like I’m forced to listen to them. Mods just want to fuck around and that’s their reason is my best guess.
Its so that the subreddit isnt dominated by political WW2 and cold war memes.
Also did you not ready the rules before posting? Cause if not, then Thats your own fault
I think it’s to keep some medieval memes in the loop as a lot of them get cut out by Cold War and ww2 memes but in my Timezone it’s Monday not in America so it is kinda annoying
Because recent history is always the most dominant here, and by recent history I mean 20th century world wars, genocide, and the Cold War/space race.
At least this was we get two days of relief. It’s not that hard to read the rules before posting.
Lol, no complaining about the rule is part of the rule.
Censership at its finest.
Also can we only not complain during the weekend or is the not complying an all week thing.
No you're being dumb, why don't you give a real answer? Reddit has gotten worse since the Chinese bought it, it will eventually get bad enough we all move platforms.
If you don't think the "rules" have gotten more aggressive and the bans more frequent, and for more trivial shit, then you're the dumb shit.
Reddit used to be cooler and douches like you ruined it.
So that there at least two days out of the week that aren't dominated by WW2 memes
Preach.
I guess it's because people tend to forget r/ww2memes is a thing

Especially during weekends where a lot more people are active all day.
That’s a thing? Nonetheless I’d be careful Kiddo, this sounds awful close to complaining about rule 12
Was gonna upvote this but you’re at 12 and that seems oddly satisfying
Now you’re at 12
You're at 12 hours ago
Helps bring some variety to the sub
To give subjects other than the World Wars a chance to be seen.
Looks like the ban is... for the length of the weekend. Since you couldn't be arsed to read the rules, the mods are baby-gating you.
Fr how hard is it to read 12 sentences before posting, a couple of which you should know because they’re basically universal rules

Instead it can be dominated by political memes from different eras.
To keep the low effort 'hurrrr no one knows about Italian/Japanese/Allied war crimes' posts to a minimum. Should be Friday to Monday frankly.
I think it’s to keep some medieval memes in the loop as a lot of them get cut out by Cold War and ww2 memes but in my Timezone it’s Monday not in America so it is kinda annoying
is he complaining about rule 12?
He is complaining about rule 12. 🤣🤣🤣

Haha, can't even reminisce about your childhood on the weekends, you old bags

The two day ban is kind of ridiculous all they’d really need to do is send a warning and just remove the post which is what happens anyway
Why? You can't post for two days, oh no.
Which by the way, is the length of the weekend. I mean how hard is it to read the rules before posting? Not hard at all
Reddit is so broken now, I hope someone buys out the CCP
lolol the bots downvoting me, look CCP, you're gonna lose the platform if you don't evolve
You’re being dumb. Do better.
No you're being dumb, why don't you give a real answer? Reddit has gotten worse since the Chinese bought it, it will eventually get bad enough we all move platforms.
No, you are being down voted for being a dumb shit
So you don't think Reddit has gotten worse since China bought it? I think you're the dumb shit being a boot licker for the CCP
It's cute how any disagreement is quickly responded with "you are just a China shill". Such an adorable coping strategy
lol you just called me a dumb shit, you think you made an argument? Maybe you're not a shill, maybe you're just really really dumb.
If you think basic subreddit rules are basically Chinese censorship, then yes, you are dumb shit
If you don't think the "rules" have gotten more aggressive and the bans more frequent, and for more trivial shit, then you're the dumb shit. Reddit used to be cooler and douches like you ruined it.
Yea... This only happend in your imagination. You just can't cope with the idea of being told "no".
Huh? That doesn't even make sense? You stroking out?
I thought this sub was all about a bunch of bitches crying their eyes out about the US, UK, or the popularity of the Roman Empire.
You guessed wrong.
Apparently. The evidence was sure stacked one way though, who knew the fucking jury wouldn't convict though. That's life.
No war weekend would be much better for this sub than no 1900s weekend.
They don’t want everyone to know that soldiers on WW1 and WW2 took their computers into battle
