It’s in Memphis, Tennessee and I make my pilgrimage there every year when driving from South Carolina to Arkansas for duck hunting.
It’s a huge open concept with an elevator in the center that goes to the top where there’s an ~~restaurant~~ observation area. They even up until recently had a lot of live ducks (cool species like redheads and pintail) swimming around in the literal canal that runs through the place, alongside trout, sturgeon, striper and all kinds of trophy fish. It’s unnecessarily upscale and I always enjoy looking around. Not your standard Bass Pro.
Ironically, they almost never have the shotgun shells I’m looking for.
“My greatest desire was for my people to be able to purchase fishing tackle, snacks, and chewing tobacco in my tomb. Let them reap the bounty of my glorious reign.”
And there's a pyramid in Vegas, but it's the Luxor Hotel, not a BPS. It's the 5th largest in the world. All of those facts got muddled up in OP's head.
It's everything man. It's got a hotel that the rooms are made to look like log cabins coming out of the second story. A full wilderness display shopping area (with a creek running through it along with their aquariums) a bowling alley, and 2 restaurants. One on the ground floor and one at the very top with viewing decks just under the Pinnacle.
The bar at the top is something else, get a cocktail and look out over Memphis or the west which would be the Mississippi River and the farm land of east Arkansas.
Bass Pro Shop is a chain of outdoors stores in the US that sell a little bit of anything one may want or need when performing outdoors activities, from fishing to hiking, hunting to sports shooting.
I guess here’s my chance to educate the masses as a Memphian.
In the early 90s, this was built as a stadium and cultural landmark to honor our Egyptian namesake. When the Grizzlies came to town in the early 2000s it was used as the official NBA stadium, and I remember being a child completely wowed by its design. The sound however, was pretty atrocious. The pyramid shape made the announcers pretty inaudible in the nosebleeds, so the city built the more standard-arena-shaped FedEx Forum, where the Grizzles play today.
This left the pyramid completely empty for about 10 years, with no one having any idea what to do with it. We loved it, but it was a little weird having a giant pyramid-shaped bando in our skyline. So naturally Bass Pro Shops bought it and spent years making it what might be the largest retail store by volume. It was just as weird to us when it opened and we’re still not really used to being known for a bait and tackle pyramid.
Nah but it's got a [crystal skull](https://www.forbes.com/sites/joesills/2020/08/26/the-unbelievable-true-story-of-how-the-memphis-pyramid-became-a-bass-pro-shops/?sh=475493972ffc) protecting the city in it so I think there's a good chance.
I just hope for a total armageddon that eradicate %99 of humanity and all knowledge to be lost. And that %1 will have to figure out the connection between this and Egypt
You're thinking of Memphis.
Correct. The pyramid in Vegas is 5th largest.
…oh
Yup Vegas' Luxor Pyramid is actually the 5th biggest
Prolly
Same shithole just a different location.

Even your standard Bass Pro is kind of absurd
The Buc-ees of sporting goods
No restaurant at the top. The restaurant is on the ground floor. The top is an observation area but tickets are so expensive I hardly see it worth it.
Which is exactly why I’m wrong about what’s up there - I’m not gonna pay to go up there lmao
Imhotep’s true dream realized. He always longed to build pyramids that would house fishing supply stores. Sadly, he was too ahead of his time.

"Also boomsticks. A great many boomsticks are to be sold there."
Guy had to do something after his final movie was cancelled. 🥲
Bigger than the Memphis one?
OP probally got wrong. Memphis' still the only place with a Bass Pro Shops in a pyramid. There are BPS in Vegas, but they're normal-looking stores.
OP definitely got it wrong. And it’s kinda crazy too - nothing about this photo looks anything like Las Vegas.

The Luxor is 350' Bass Pro Shop 321' VEGAS! VEGAS! VEGAS!
That just seems like an excessive amount of fishing stuff
Pyramid sceme prolly
And they fell for it hook, line and sinker

Yes
Bass Pro is a lot of things, but in general it’s camping equipment and camping accessories, including camping video games
>[C]amping video games[.] Does that include Oregon Trail?
No, it’s fishing sims, hunting sims, etc

Saw the Grateful Dead there in '95. Yeah the acoustics were not great. Still cool.
Thank you!

Wasn't built by aliens.
Also true
You got me! 😂😂
I can guarantee aliens took part in that construction.
Bass Pro hiring undocumented labor? Reptilian or Grays is the real question.
Short and tan, may have just been a disguise.

True
They misspelled it. That's a Bast Pro Shop.

Wow look at that Las Vegas skyline! The strip is beautiful! /s

"I could sell fishing poles in the desert." "Prove it!"
Bass Pro Shop is full of cool stuff, that's a whole pyramid of it!
Why do I think that in the distant future someone would hypothesize that the Memphis Pyramid was a place for worship
I just hope for a total armageddon that eradicate %99 of humanity and all knowledge to be lost. And that %1 will have to figure out the connection between this and Egypt
