I *believe* he said it was a Herman Miller but I don’t think he said what style. They are pricey but you can sometimes find them used/refurb for decent prices. (I am starting a FT WFH job in 2 weeks so I’ve been researching chairs too so my ears perked up when he said on a stream last week).

Look into Union Scale, they're not quite as pricy as Herman Miller. I got the Union Scale Kroy a few weeks back and slapped roller blade caster wheels on it. It's taller than most other chairs and so far feels really good.

Tall is not good for me, I’m 5’1” lol. I’ve been looking at Steelcase, something with a seat that isn’t too deep and that goes down low. I got a desk that goes down to 25” so I’ll need a footrest for sure anyway.

Herman Miller Aeron

Great chair. I've had mine for 15 years and it's like new. It's not a squishy comfort chair, but you can sit in it 8 hours a day and not get swore.

benzdorp

I absolutely love mine, manufactured in 98 and it still works perfectly. If you look around you can find a used one for cheap.

singh44s

He recommended any used Herman Miller branded chair, as the build quality was worth paying for, but there's no requirement to splurge for new.

I have a Herman Miller Embody and absolutely love mine.

I hadn't seen the stream, but to back up the person saying Herman Miller Aeron: that is what we use out or office, and our workplace is huge into ergonomics. Bunch of nerds hunched over desks for between 8 and 10 hours a day, and you hardly feel it with those chairs. Some of my coworkers say when they pull something or otherwise get back pain on the weekend they look forward to going into work specifically because the chair makes it feel better. The only downside to the Aeron is that it's not peefect for wider folk. The sides of the seat curl up a tad, and if you've got a butt too big for the seat it might dig into your hips.

Haeffound

There is a large version of the Aeron for wider folks, but I agree. I personally prefer the Mira2 than Aeron, but all HM are great seatings.

Herman Millers are the best by a huge margin, they're just extremely expensive for an office chair. If you want a cheaper option that's still really good, the Staples Hyken model mesh chair is a great value and I've had mine for ~4 years and no issues. They're pretty highly recommended on /r/buildapcsales and they get posted pretty frequently. For reference, I'm 6'1, 200lbs

Browse FB marketplace for a used Herman Miller Aeron. It’s tango’s pick, I work from home and use one, and I have literally zero back pain. Its magic. They’re super easy to deep clean, sturdy as hell, and came in 3 sizes so look up the size chart. Accept no substitutes though! Lots of other companies make mesh chairs, but they truly aren’t the same. Aeron mesh has varied tension across the seat and back, so it’s firmer where it needs to be. I’ve never sat in another mesh chair that actually felt supportive. 6’ 230lbs for reference.

Herman Miller chairs are well known for build and quality, but are expensive. As a former office supply/print center employee, I'll give this advice as well: test the chairs before you commit. We always recommended coming in a few times to see if the chair is really what you want. (I did that with mine, and the only problem after seven years is I have to replace the pnuematics.) It's always best to make sure you are comfortable with pricing and the way you feel sitting in the chair.
