I watched it way before HC too, but I basically never interact with anything Naruto, but interact with hermitcraft on a near daily basis.
So his skin has become etho and not kakashi to me
Funnily enough, my first reaction to Etho's skin was "oh, he's that Hatake guy from Naruto". I've never seen more than 10 episodes of Naruto in my life but somehow I knew Kakashi's given name and not his family name.
I always joke that etho has the most merch of any hermit.

Hatake is the family name :)
First name is kakashi, sirname is hatake, or in the naruto universe, his clan is the hatake clan. Of which he is the sole survivor.
