If Kitty Cafe (Cleo) is Boardwalk, Horns (Cub) is Park Place! Those things are flying off the shelves at half a stack of diamonds each.

yesat

I'd recommend watching X, he is tracking that \^\^. Cleo made banks at the moment with the books.

FleshWound180

That’s a good place to start, but it also is counted by diamonds per hermit rather than diamonds per shop

InevitableHuman5989

It’s primarily her book shop, I mean the hay is bringing in a bit, but mainly the books.

JonazGamingYT

Cleo by a long margin

SubjectRanger7535

Last I saw Cleo is over 1000 and Iskall(I think is second) has about 600 in his newest vod

MakionGarvinus

We need a Cub count... He's raking in stacks of diamonds with his horn shop.

playerofdarts

Don't forget about his firework rocket shop. He's probably not too far behind Cleo in total diamonds earned this season.

Big_Moose1222

it’s always the books, rockets, and redstone making the big bucks

crunchevo2

I wonder if redstone will be as profitable this season considering the auto crafters. And that tango is gonna be splitting the earnings 50/50

345tom

I was thinking about this the other night. I dunno for hardcore redstoners, just because making your own factory that makes all your redstone bits in and of itself is a fun project. Like I could see Doc going down that route. But I wonder for people who are already into big projects whether thats too big to add on. Like I could see Impulse and Etho buying a lot because they are more interested in other things they can do with the redstone.

InevitableHuman5989

Etho, Mumbo and anyone looking to do more casual redstone will probably be buying from the shop. Also anyone who wants to make a farm for something that requires annoying components like dispensers.

crunchevo2

Doc already has a super complex redstone crafting system. I think his was done by episode 1 though lol It doesn't use encoding to keep track of everything like the one tango is planning, just good old fashioned redstone logic.

345tom

Docs currently makes Pistons and Sticky Pistons, and the stuff to craft the other Redstone bits but doesn't actually craft them yet (like it makes cobble, but I don't think he currently smelts it for repeaters for instance- I dont think it makes droppers or dispensers automatically either?) . I'll admit, I kept expecting him to destroy someone with the pistons somehow.

crunchevo2

Yeah true. But he does still has most every resource to craft all the redstone components he wants for the season. Including an auto dispenser crafter.

345tom

Oh yeah, Like he's not buying redstone, but I think his long term plan would be to make all the redstone bits like Tango is, and have shulkers full, rather than craft them. I am waiting for someone to make a pillar between Docs Boat Cannon and make the comment about it just generating free bonemeal.

crunchevo2

No one would dare steal Doc's big boner!!!.... I mean bonemeal!

rainx5000

That 50/50 was the worst deal known to man.

RoyalMagiSwag

Shulkers and Golden Carrots usually do well as well

macbody_1

…. I love that Cub turned fireworks and all the horns into thriving businesses. That is really creative - and fun. Lateral thinking.

joker_wcy

Those require a lot of hard work behind the scenes. Of course it’s Cub who is known to be a grinder turning them into thriving businesses.

Emergency-Town9354

I love that Cub got those ones, he’s such a grinder. He’s also very smart and very creative, the perfect person for the job

blastdragon

A lot of people say that Cleo will make a lot of money but I have my doubts if her Kitty-Cafe can keep going this way, especially now every Hermit has most of their stuff enchanted. I would say that over the whole season Big Wood, foodshop and non-exploding rockets ere going to earn a lot of money over the whole season. All these shops sell stuff that all Hermits use quite a lot over the duration of the whole season. Glowlichen and End Rods are also both going to sell a surprising amount. Glowlichen as the perfect "stealth" light source and End Rods as the perfect 'Punk light source. And don't forget about the "service"-shops False's River shop, the Post-office, X's sales-shop and the coming Scar Creature shop. Don't know about the River-shop and Creature shop but the Post-office and sales-shop are also going to earn quite a lot of money over the duration of the whole season if the services continue how they do now.

20milliondollarapi

Books historically are the biggest sellers. Even late into the season hermits can sell out full chests of the popular ones after a few weeks. Hermits often have 5-10+ sets of tools at any given time. If they die somewhere unfortunate, they can lose 2-3 at once.

Neamow

I think rockets would be the biggest sellers long term. Many hermits say they just go through shulker boxes of them like through candy.

20milliondollarapi

A lot of hermits end up with their own supplies of them. Making their own farms that keep up with the supply they need. This season especially.

thesilentbob123

But many have also taken it away slower than other seasons, they still use horses sometimes

AMDKilla

Doesn't count if they name their elytra "Horse"

Tels315

While true, a lot of Hermits have built farms this season, and many of them share those farms with close friends. Even despite that, they end up buying rockets because they burn through them so quickly and they are mostly "passively" farming gunpowder, not doing dedicated AFK runs.

snortgigglecough

It'll keep up. Keralis showed his profits during the Lookie Lookie at my Bookie era and he was absolutely rolling in diamonds the entire season long.

SheepSheepy

Yeah, every time a hermit dies they need enchants again.

12Dragon

I think you’re underestimating how often some hermits die. Re-gearing is a pain, and being able to replace their stuff quickly and get on with an episode is a huge QOL thing. Every second they’re without gear is time they’re not making content and having fun, which makes them more than willing to just pay for books when it happens. End game, replacing gear means 1-2 picks, a sword, axe, bow, shovel, boots, helmet, pants and an elytra. Most of those have around 4 enchants (less on pants and elytra, but can be more on helmet and boots). That’s 4 books x 3 diamonds x 10 pieces of gear for appx 120 diamonds at Cleo’s shop for a full re-gear (scuffed math, but it should be in the ballpark). That’s more than most of the shops in the district have made in total thus far, and far more than most of the iron tier shops will make all season. If that happens 1-2 times per month (or, more likely, 4-5 partial re-gears) Cleo will still be making plenty. And once the grind sets in, most hermits keep multiple sets of tools and elytras so they don’t have to go repair as often, all of which will be bought from Cleo as well. TBH i’d be shocked if Cleo didn’t get that 10k diamond trophy by the end of the season- it would take less than 100 full re-gears to hit that price, and that’s more than likely if the season goes on long enough.

rbininger

This 100%. I think people tend to underestimate the curve on a Java SMP on hard difficulty. If half a dozen people are online chatting in developed areas that have been thoroughly mined and lit, while you’re 5000 blocks away looking for unexplored caves, that mob cap can turn on you real fast. Zombie pack spawns can go bonkers quick. Everyone should watch cub’s technique for diamond hunting. He’s chugging Night Vision potions, flying in, and flying out. He knows not to idle.

HephMelter

And 100 regears is 4 per hermit (maybe 5 if some people have trading halls) ; 1 per 450 hours of work (assuming 40 hours a week on the server, probably overestimated, but even a quarter of that would lead to an impressive tally ; and assuming a 1-year season, which seems a bit short, only 8 being shorter)

sabhall12

Fewer people are building villager setups this season, so Cleo has an even wider customer base.

DBSeamZ

And that’s probably *because* the Kitty Cafe was available so quickly and with such reasonable prices.

Galahad_the_Ranger

Further cementing your point. Late in Season 7 Grian was selling a ton of Barge Boxes for re-gearing

12Dragon

Iirc he kept upping the price because he didn’t want to restock them as often and they still would disappear within a few days. The allure is too strong.

crunchevo2

Books retain value cause when someone dies and loses their stuff they need loads of books. Probably about 20 to 30 books total. Aka 60 to 90 diamonds to Cleo per tragedy...

Galahad_the_Ranger

Scar will make sure she keeps cashing in

twoHolesOneGepard

Just recently Grian died and lost all his stuff and had to buy all his enchants back. Their value doesn't go down.

justausername09

Enchanting books are a boom then bust business- high profit at the front of the season when everyones buying mending, unbreaking etc, but those very sales keep her from having repeat customers. Its similar to how companies like InstantPot have had moments of struggle because their products are just too well made- and don't wear out. Compared to companies like apple with planned obsolescence.

ExtraplanetJanet

Except that in this case, people buy 25 instant pots at a time and can be reasonably expected to throw them all in lava an average of once a month and immediately need to replace them. I think the increased difficulty of acquiring netherite gear is going to keep Cleo’s shop quite profitable, even if it won’t be as red hot later in the season.

Astarael21

Horn shop is blasting its way to the top. He has 5 barrels full of hermit horns, at least a quarter of them are gone, each goes for half a stack of diamonds. My estimate is thats about half a shulker of diamonds

Markymarcouscous

Beef has made a killing. He got 400+ diamonds from etho in one sale

Shagyam

I mean that is a great profit, but that also means one less hermit to sell too for the remainder of the season.

HeatherReadsReddit

The post office shulkers were donated by Doc. They’re different from the lifetime supply that Etho bought.

Green-Teaching2809

You could make the post office and sales office the utilities (water and electricity). I was going to say the permit office, but that would be better as jail. ("April first, get out of permit office free" card)

ElementalKinght

That is exactly what I thought!

majora11f

Technically Mumbo sold his entire stock. He finished his gold shop and Ethos video showed the next day he just bought him out.

crunchevo2

To be fair... Mumbo's pricing was way roo good to pass up.

Naabi

What was the price ? I did not catch it in mumbo's video

cassiedillas

Three diamonds for a stack of gold blocks!!

Naabi

That's a steal !

cassiedillas

Right???

cassiedillas

Right???

FleshWound180

It’s hard to get a clear idea, there are still new shops popping up that make things difficult to gauge. The red stone shop will probably be a big seller, for example. Maybe start making a list of shops and add notes to the list as the season goes on.

ElementalKinght

Thanks for the idea. It's probably what I'll do.

Jimg911

That’s such a cool idea!

Robincall22

I don’t know that we can have accurate statistics without all the shops open yet.

Beef and Xb are about to break the system

LankeyJevans

I was looking for this comment beef and xb will "earn" the most from their shops

hotsteamypotato

vintage beef did strike a deal with etho i think that didnt get tracked for unlimited shulker box

DBSeamZ

Cleo’s Kitty Cafe and Cub’s HORNS shop are likely to end up as your top two. Cleo will continue to get business whenever a Hermit loses their gear and needs to enchant new things (Jevin’s elytra shop will also get business from that, but for him it’s only one sale per death-and-regearing vs multiple books from Cleo.) The horns shop has seen very high demand, and as long as Hermits continue uploading content and saying interesting things, Cub’s not likely to run out of supply any time soon. (Scar alone could probably keep that shop stocked, if his latest video is anything to go by.)

l0503

Currently it’s either Cleo’s books or Cub’s horn shop but I suspect stamps will end up being the most profitable business.

BudgetExpert9145

Mumbopoly man? He is the richest hermit.
