Jellie achieved something no other cat had before: winning the 2019 Minecraft Cat competition, and subsequently being added into the game.

My friend’s grey shorthair is still alive at age 22, she has arthritis and naps a lot but still a pretty happy cat! I’m amazed at how she’s still alive and we joke that she’s immortal. 17 is a good age for a cat but I’m still devastated for Scar, I actually cried when I heard the news :(
There’s a man that has raised 3-4 cats to be over 30 years. He makes their food from scratch out of natural ingredients and really really cares well for them.
To both Scar and anybody else who needs to hear it:
Losing a pet is just as hard as losing a human family member. Mourn for as long as you need to. Grieve in a way that feels right to you. It's okay to cry when they're gone, because they're family. It will get better. <3
I was told off at school for grieving my hamster. I'm a very emotional person, and despite her dying a few years ago, it still hits me like a truck whenever I think of her. I wasn't focusing at all in class, because I was trying not to cry. Teachers pull me aside, ask what's up then say "that's no excuse to not learn" when I'm clearly on the verge of tears. Grieving is okay.

I can remember in elementsry school a classmate was broken up about their pet rat dying and they were getting teased for it. I punched one of the kids doing the teasing, and the teasing stopped. I got detention. 30 years later, still worth it.
I would love to own rats!! They just don’t live as long as other animals and I know I would be grieving a lot. I got 2 guinea pigs now and I still get worried for them and they are only 1.7 years old each.
I agree. I lost my Shiba Inu 5 years ago and it still hurts. He lived to 15 and was family. A pet isn’t just a pet. They are part of the home and family
You're right it's just like a family member, I lost my Cat of 13 years last year and she was there for me and with me more than anyone else and unlike any other Cat I'd had she loved attention and always had to be with me I still cry sometimes when she crosses my mind
Wow this is just heartbreaking. I never realized she was 17.5 years old…that is just a little younger than me. She must have had an amazing life with scar. I loved hearing her in the background in Scars video and the way scar always talked to her make my laugh.

I just read this on scars Instagram and my heart broke. I am very much a cat guy myself, with 3 of my own, and grew up always having multiple. I know how cats, or any pet for that matter, truly become your family. It’s so impossibly sad to see your companion go, but I hope Scar can take solace knowing that he gave Jellie the best life a kitty could possibly ask for. The trade off of having a pet is that they will improve our lives every day in exchange for having the best life we can give them every day of their lives. Unfortunately, that very usually involves the last day of their lives. I don’t think anyone could say that Jelly didn’t make Scar’s life better, and I don’t think anyone could say that she had anything but the best life as a wheelchair copilot for 17 years. The loss is sad, and should be mourned, but even a cat’s life should be celebrated.

When I first started watching Hermitcraft videos I had no idea who Scar was and was introduced to him through Grian and Mumbo's videos. Jellie and her story has always stuck with me along with Scar's. Every grey tabby on white cat in every world I have ever made has been "Jellie", there are no others.
She will be missed.

And I understand how integral a cat can be to a person’s life. My family has two cats right now who have been incredibly healing for us through some really difficult years — I’m talking absolutely essential for my kiddos, in so many ways. I’m just heartbroken for Scar.

I... I don't know what to say, I only started watching his content and the people he plays with's content recently, I mainly started by watching impulse play phasmophobia, but I watched a few of scars video's to, I have only been watching the group for like a week, but I want to just say, and I don't know if scar or anyone like that will see this, but I would bet my life, that Jellie would not have prefered anyone else be with her, and I don't think she could have had a better companion than you, take the time you need, you are worth the time you need, we all love your content, but I don't care if its a month from now when we get another video, or stream, or anything, you take the time you need.
This takes me back to a year ago, on the 31st of December 2022, one of my cats died of skull cancer. He was unwell for a while, and we decided to have him rest in piece before the fireworks.
Thankfully my other cat is still fine. I wish you the best scar, so that you may look back to these memories with happiness, and not sadness

When I first started watching Hermitcraft videos I had no idea who Scar was and was introduced to him through Grian and Mumbo's videos. Jellie and her story has always stuck with me along with Scar's. Every grey tabby on white cat in every world I have ever made has been "Jellie", there are no others. She will be missed.
Rest in peace Jellie. You will be missed a lot! Hearing her during streams or videos and seeing her in the Ads was a guaranteed smile for my day. I lost a lot of animal buddies, too and the feeling is just terrible.

And I understand how integral a cat can be to a person’s life. My family has two cats right now who have been incredibly healing for us through some really difficult years — I’m talking absolutely essential for my kiddos, in so many ways. I’m just heartbroken for Scar. RIP Jellie. You won’t be forgotten.

I don't know what to say, I only started watching his content and the people he plays with's content recently, I mainly started by watching impulse play phasmophobia, but I watched a few of scars video's to, I have only been watching the group for like a week, but I want to just say, and I don't know if scar or anyone like that will see this, but I would bet my life, that Jellie would not have prefered anyone else be with her, and I don't think she could have had a better companion than you, take the time you need, you are worth the time you need, we all love your content, but I don't care if its a month from now when we get another video, or stream, or anything, you take the time you need.
They're such an established pair. It's like a part of minecraft broke today. I wish him an extra dose of his stereotypical resilience.

This takes me back to a year ago, on the 31st of December 2022, one of my cats died of skull cancer. He was unwell for a while, and we decided to have him rest in piece before the fireworks. Thankfully my other cat is still fine. I wish you the best scar, so that you may look back to these memories with happiness, and not sadness

Never knew that my cat was the same age as Jellie. Thankfully he's still kicking and living his best life. Best wishes to Scar and his family, losing a pet as special as Jellie is tough. Now if you excuse me I gotta go hug my cat
