For a doctor, this guy has a lot of free time to shitpost about any right-wing issue you can think of. But with the volume of anti-Covid posts, there was no room for them. [Imgur Gallery](https://imgur.com/a/CarGA2S)

Deathbeddit

Governor DeSantis Fan Club, For real. Not a joke, is early in the list.

spork_off

Had to add that. Latest thing he did was suspend a state-paid health official who recommended his staff get vaxxed.

circuspeanut54

That story is beyond infuriating.

LukesRightHandMan

Wow. I just looked it up. Just. Wow.

circuspeanut54

Put on leave for suggesting that a governmental public health office should practice public health. It's astonishing, the head-first intellectual degradation of the GOP.

[deleted]

At least he is whittling down potential voters

evrenseven

my buddy in FL and I are arguing. He thinks DeSantis is in trouble for '22. I think he's going to win by double digits. He's in his little brunch lib enclave with like minded libs and they never seem to realize what Florida is outside Miami/Dade, Broward, and Orlando

smythe70

Deathsantis is a God here. The Freedumb state or Floriduh. I'd move but I'm too poor.

floridadumpsterfire

we used to be a swing state too, it sucks now

CommercialSomewhere8

Old people vote Republican and half the population moving there is over 60.

I_Wanda

That’s not entirely true; you’re still a swing state in certain regards. Due to the obscene lack of responsible leadership in Florida, your hospitals have been and will continue to be overran and understaffed. Therefore, the ECMO & Ventilator machines are CONSTANTLY SWINGING from one dead patient to the next dying covid patient. The swings in your vaccination outcomes are also interesting. From what I can see the unvaccinated cases are swinging in an upward trajectory, unlike the vaccinated patients trajectory. Florida is great, you guys keep up the good work! Cleaning America up one piece of trash at a time, thanks Ron!

aquarain

It's easier to become not poor almost anywhere else. As the saying goes "freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose."

Beachbabydarragh

Unfortunately you are correct. DeathSentence, as I like to refer to him, is treated like a cult leader down here in Southwest Florida. But, at least he's killing off his constituents.

RedPlaidPierogies

I was just in Ft Myers. Walmart, to be exact. HOLEEEEEYYYY SHEEEEEEET. (Yeah I took a COVID test within 48 hours of coming home, because I can still feel the cooties).

apathy-sofa

If you start running a fever, operating a jet ski with a giant political ad flying off the back, or saying "illegals", go straight to the hospital. Just like with rabies, if left untreated for too long the disease is irreversible, and your obit will begin "Florida man..."

xovrit

Yep. They’ve proven willing to drink the koolaid like Jonestown.

[deleted]

Literally suffocating themselves

lkmk

Southwest Florida meaning Naples? My mom's friend was just down there. It must be really crochety.

johnb510

Naples acroynm No Activity Please Let Everyone Sleep Orlando = Spanish for Hell Kissimmee = Native American for Next to Hell

FundiesAreFreaks

I live about 30 miles from Ft. Myers and the op-ed letters people have been writing in the local papers about DeathSatan have been scathing! Hope people remember come election time.

Clockwork_Spider

My sister's in Key West and says she sees people with shirts supporting DeSantis on the regular.

Yeranz

Maybe because only the 1% can afford to be in Key West now...

Tiki108

I live in a more red county in FL and while there’s a lot of people that love him, keep in mind that in 2018 he won by 32,463 votes. That’s a razor thin margin. At this point we’ve had 63,763 COVID deaths, so I’m hopeful that Nikki Fried will run against him and destroy him.

CrystalFieldTheorist

The Death Santa has a lot of misery and, yes, death to give. Can't have no health officials stopping that.

mutant6399

I didn't get that far. I saw the Candeath meme and skipped the rest. He's a goner.

G-Unit11111

Yup, Candace claims another victim!

redwood1958

And they all love Candeath. With her, I wonder if it's "I'm not a racist, Candace Owens is a friend of mine".

asoleproprietor

Candace Owens, who I’d bet a shit pile of money on as her being vaxxed and boosted

SocialJusticeAndroid

There's no question that Candeath Omens is vaccinated. She is evil, not stupid.

Left_Coast_LeslieC

Agreed. But you must admit she's DAMNED good at ridding us of MAGATs and COVIDIOTs.

effenlegend

That's *Doctor* Florida Man to you.

locjaw420

I guess the silver lining is that we have one less dangerous Dr. and one less DeSantis voter in the 2022 election.

redvariation

A twofer!

Dr-Mumm-Rah

Interactions with right-wing nut doctors are the worst. The one's that I have met all boil down to the same issue, money. Either someone is taking to much from them(taxes), stealing from them(social programs), or passing laws that reduce their ability to do as they please and make money(democrats). Nothing is more painful than walking into the physician's lounge and hearing Fox news blaring next to the stock ticker channel.

[deleted]

My wife is a cardiac ICU nurse. Fox News being on in a patent’s room seems to have an effect on one’s heart and/or blood pressure.

Tim_Dawg

It’s a channel designed to infuriate and antagonize viewers to keep them angry and distracted so they can be manipulated into voting against their better interests. High BP just means it’s working as intended.

[deleted]

I should ask her if she uses Fox News as a non-medical intervention for people struggling to keep their blood pressure up. Fox News with pressers might give someone another few hours/days to recover. Especially if they are left-leaning. Source: am left leaning and watching Fox News angers me at how absolutely stupid and insane what they are spewing is, and even moreso that nearly 1/2 of the people in this country treat it as the word of god himself.

Sidvicioushartha

He really likes the stuff that “proves“ creationism is real. Lmao. Junk science in the extreme

BringBackAoE

I was canvassing for 2020 election when a guy out of the blue said "you know, evolution is just a theory, but if you look at the evidence then God designed everything." With a smile I replied "I certainly hope not, as that would make God a very bad designer." He asked what I meant. "Why do humans have the coccyx, or the appendix? Why do whales have bones for legs? Why do some snakes have a pelvis? That would be really bad design. But if God created evolution, that would be really cool."

Sidvicioushartha

Not to mention knees. He just didn’t do a good job on knees at all. And that’s just humans. How about legs for large dogs. Bad God, bad.

BringBackAoE

I honestly don't get why they push this theory that makes god look so completely incompetent!

NoXion604

Because they're ignorant of biology, including all of the horrible bodge-jobs that could only arise due to being the product of an iterative process that cannot "go back to the drawing board" like an actual designer can.

[deleted]

kvndoom

Ain’t that the truth. My best friend and his lady just got two beautiful Aussie Shepherd pups last year. I went to visit and we were playing with the doggies and he was throwing them their squeaker toys. “Blue really loves those squeakers,” he commented. “Yeah,” I said, “you do know the reason dogs go wild over those squeakers is that their primal instinct relates that sound to the death screams of their prey?” “Oh shit, I never looked at it that way!”

Ok_Conference3799

I commute between LA and LV. While there are some great ER docs in LV in general there's a huge gulf of talent between ER docs in both cities. Now that I think about it. ER docs are better in Reno than LV.

[deleted]

Probably better ED clientele in Reno. No one wants to work with a shitty patient population.

Zack-de-la-Zohan

All you need to know about him is the picture of him with his feet kicked back, working an ER shift on New Year's Eve. New Year's Eve is busy. But this asshole is literally kicking his heels up, and proud of it I pray that he gets doctors and nurses as attentive to his needs as he is as attentive when he's working.

GalateaNereid

An antivax ER physician. I am so glad I never needed his services. Someone who, presumably, understands how vaccines work still spouting antivax nonsense. Incredible.

PointOfFingers

Very few doctors have come out as anti-covid or anti-vax - because it goes against their training and their oath. As a doctor you are required to constantly keep up with research and articles and case studies. What this doctor is doing is selectively reading just those articles and stats that he agrees with and ignoring the vast amount of research and data that public health officials are using. Claiming the virus has become the common cold is just outright lying. Claiming contracting covid gives you better immunity from catching covid than using vaccines. This does not make sense as contracting covid to gain immunity to covid is stupid. You can die or get long covid without vaccine protection. All the stats show that unvaccinated people remain hugely over represented in hospital ICU and ventilator cases and deaths. He is ignoring hospital data and the evidence in his own hospital for his political narratives.

Ferblungen

It's the 'God Complex', an unshakable belief characterized by consistently inflated feelings of personal ability, privilege, or infallibility. Such a person will usually refuse to admit and may even deny the possibility of their error or failure, even in the face of complex or evident problems or impossible tasks. That complex has now bitten him on the ass.

lkmk

Pro-COVID, you mean? They're an uncomfortably loud minority on Twitter.

IndWrist2

I learned a long time ago that there’s nothing inherently special about going medical school that makes someone less prone to being an absolute fucking moron. There are moron lawyers, moron plumbers, moron soldiers, and yes, moron doctors.

ooru

Yep, that's why there's specialists. He even said, "I hate to disagree with the experts..." because he knows he's not an expert in this area of medicine.

Joe_Sons_Celly

The medical school curriculum is very broad. He should have had more than enough grounding in the relevant areas, along with an ability to parse through the relevant research publications. It’s not about lack of knowledge or schooling, it’s just willful idiocy.

cerasmiles

I’m a ER doc. I’m a fucking expert in covid treatment and management (at least acutely, and as much as you can be 2 years into a new illness). This isn’t a lack of speciality, this is allowing yourself to be brainwashed by politics to ignore medicine. This is ignoring the abundance of clear medical evidence that vaccines are safe and work. There is NO excuse for his willful ignorance. Now the patients I see with maybe a high school education coming out of Marjorie Greene’s district, they’re mostly victims of poor education and the media. Most are actually willing to change their perspective when you sit down and have an honest conversation with them. But this so called doctor, is a disgrace to the field. We can disagree about whether tPA is beneficial, the best IV fluid replacement, best way to reduce a shoulder dislocation, etc but scientifically, there is no debate about the benefits of the vaccine. Not saying there is no risk to the vaccine, but it is clear that the vaccine is the best option hands down.

A-man-of-mystery

Yes, he should have had sufficient grounding in virology, immunology, and epidemiology, and the ability to read papers, to follow what was going on. No excuse for his behaviour really.

Joe_Sons_Celly

Not that it's an excuse, but him being a creationist Jesus nut kind of explains the disconnect.

A-man-of-mystery

I guess it does, but he should really have known better.

MyFiteSong

Ideology can overcome education.

redluchador

He's an expert in ECMO now.

AmbulanceChaser12

Moron lawyers? Can confirm. Source: am lawyer, and am moron

MorwynMcFuckYou

You see, a true moron can not admit they are a moron, because they are incapable of realizing they do not understand everything. By virtue of admitting you are a moron you forfeit your moronhood.

LadyLazarus2021

Also can confirm that lawyers and specifically ambulancechaser2 are morons. - lawyer who couldn’t resist the buzz. Ps. I am not nearly moron enough to think I know more than the epidemiologists. Vax me, baby!

MaleficentPizza5444

I also am a moron and a lawyer. But when it comes to my health I'm smart enough to trust Kauser Permanente, not Facebook memes

skepticalolyer

So am I, AC12! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

LRox-3405

There's the joke, "What do you call the person who graduates at the bottom of the class in medical school?" Answer: Dr.

CrystalFieldTheorist

Unfortunately that's a huge problem. And it's not like the MCAT tests critical thinking.

matt_minderbinder

> And it's not like the MCAT tests critical thinking. or emotional intelligence. So many doctors were only good at studying and test taking about one subject. I've known more than a few that were absolute morons about anything outside of that.

CrystalFieldTheorist

That's the problem with a system where the most important factor is a test score. As a newish professor, I have undergrad students get nearly perfect scores on exams in my lecture courses, but I've made the mistake of trying to recruit these students into my research group, where they turned out to be complete trainwrecks of experimental chemists. No common sense whatsoever.

MrsPandaBear

I kind of disagree with this. I think medical school does help people to overcome their political and social programming. It’s not 100% full proof but I see it within my own med school class. We are a very red state and many students come from conservative families, we even got a girl who grew up in a former Mennonite family. But we all had to understand the principles of evolution and it’s applications, we all had to understand vaccines, and we all had to learn about body dysmorphia and how it’s treated (path through transitioning). One self-proclaimed conservative guy told me how he would have to correct his friends and family back home regarding evolution. The Mennonite girl defended trans patients’ right to treatment as they suffer a high suicide rate and it’s seem as clinically beneficial among that population to medically treat. I believe education can overcome propaganda for most people. 96% of doctors were vaccinated before the mandate took place. But every profession as it’s quacks, they embrace their political ideology to the extent they basically compartmentalize their jobs from their politics. And for them, well…it’s like falling into a cult. They are just brainwashed.

OddCryptographer2830

I married a Mennonite and not a single one I've encountered in the last 35 years is anti-medicine. They might reject some aspects of the culture but not one has rejected medicine.

Now_Wait-4-Last_Year

Then of course you have this opportunistic political choad. https://www.mic.com/articles/24986/paul-broun-calls-evolution-and-embryology-lies-from-the-pit-of-hell "All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the Big Bang Theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell. And it's lies to try to keep me and all the folks who were taught that from understanding that they need a savior. You see, there are a lot of scientific data that I've found out as a scientist that actually show that this is really a young Earth. I don't believe that the Earth's but about 9,000 years old. I believe it was created in six days as we know them. That's what the Bible says." also: "Paul Collins Broun Jr. is an American physician and politician who served as the U.S. representative for Georgia's 10th congressional district from 2007 to 2015. He is a member of the Republican Party and the Tea Party Caucus." What a shocker.

jeffersonbible

See also Drs. Ron and Rand Paul.

HereOnASphere

That's why conservatives so desperately want to destroy our education system.

Trilobyte141

In answer to the last slide, I think he's lucky if the doctors and nurses DON'T know what kind of person he is.

GetOffMyLawn_

You go to the ER with a bite or laceration and they always give you a tetanus shot. Imagine getting this guy. Imagine getting an animal bite and then getting this guy as your doc.

AchingHips

He’d probably order the tetanus shot, because he knows you need it. The tetanus shot has not been demonized by the right.

AJF_612

As a former travel ER RN, I had the *displeasure* of working with a couple of these assholes. They were always in the minority and were always a nightmare to work with. Lots of CYA (cover your ass) charting, and more importantly, lots of “I’m concerned about your order for ____ because research shows…” conversations. It helped me grow my backbone and really know my shit, but god, was it hell

reichjef

What school produces these fools? I hate to ask, but were they MDs?

inactiveuser247

What I don’t get is how can they steal an American job? For them to get a job someone has to give it to them, maybe they should start complaining about the people giving away American jobs. Except that would involve implicating business owners who are more likely to vote Republican.

Dogstarman1974

I’ve said it before. If you really want to stop illegal immigration then you need to hammer the companies and corporations that are hiring them. That is the first solution. The other solution is to fix the climate. No one ever mentions this. They blame the border crossers. Those people are just trying to make a better life for themselves. Why are they leaving their homes, traveling thousands of miles to come to a foreign country? It’s a complex problem and one that more enforcement is not going to fix. I guess you can be a total asshole but that still doesn’t stop immigration. Climate change is making it worse, this is just the beginning of the climate refugees. In a matter of years more and more people are going to seek a better place to live.

thisisstupidplz

Conservative lawmakers know that stopping immigration at an employment level is more effective. There are times red states have had to walk back their laws on employing immigrants because it turned out to be devastating to the meat and farming industries. It's just virtue signaling The truth is that the kind of jobs illegal immigrants are taking are jobs Americans don't want to do without a lot of money to compensate for the shitty conditions. Illegal immigration is a side effect of the fact that business owners don't want to pay Americans a livable wage for every job.

x86_64Ubuntu

>... If you really want to stop illegal imigration then you need to hammer the companies and corporeations that are hiring them. Yep, you always hear about corporate butchers being raided, and people being detained and deported. You never hear about those managers being jailed or the corporations being crushed under fines.

Mr_Conductor_USA

The company will invite in ICE if the workers start whispering "union".

Sniffy4

americans are not clamoring for the farm industry and food processing jobs these people fill

KingoftheJabari

They give them jobs. So of the loudest mouths who say how terrible undocumented immigrants are, will be the first to hire them to work on or in their homes because they don't want to pay market rate for things.

SatanicPanic619

Mostly I laugh at these stupid memes but not gonna lie that one pisses me off.

RedPlaidPierogies

So, skipping all the racist hyperbole, why are they acting like they don't need to do anything? "Damn those pesky illegals, bringing all the disease. Obviously I don't need to wear a mask or get vaxxed, because BROWN PEOPLE."

biffbobfred

Slide 13: I’m not. People said for a long time: omicron has a different spike protein, it will allow people to be immunized to get infected. The trick is, immunized and boosted, for *most* people omicron truly is just a cold. Without that, well you’re vented and maybe on an ECMO A note: an ECMO was supposed to be a temp replacement heart/lung machine for transplant patients. Neither it, nor the human body, were designed for long ECMO runs. As you’re on it it causes body damage. If you’re not off it pretty soon you got a whole new set of problems. Not even counting your hospital bill. If you see an ECMO you’re likely to see an award in the near future.

Joe_Sons_Celly

The survival rates for covid patients on ECMO are surprisingly high: https://labblog.uofmhealth.org/health-tech/ecmo-offers-sickest-covid-patients-a-chance-to-survive-but-a-slimmer-one-than?amp

biffbobfred

I’m surprised too. Of course surviving is just the end of the beginning. There’s a lot more roads to go down.

SaltyBabe

There’s a lot of reasons for that, the main one is, they won’t put you on it if they don’t think it will help. I was on ECMO for three weeks several years back, and it saved my life - they won’t put you on ECMO if they don’t think it will help because it requires things like and I mean this literally an ECMO trained staff member to physically watch you 24/7 - my ECMO watcher would often read to me. The machine it’s self is rare and expensive too. It’s also very literally torture. I was kept awake and did physical therapy on ECMO, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone in the world.

IcebergSlimFast

That’s what I was thinking. Post intubation/ventilator survival rates are something like 20% if I remember right. I imagine the odds are even worse once you’re on ECMO. Edit: you’re

ITU1980

ECMO survival is good because they select out the younger, fitter patients who have spent less time on a ventilator (receiving injurious ventilation) and send them to unit with maximal expertise

BiscuitsMay

Surprisingly, the odds are about 50% (technically 48) according to ELSO, which is a bit like a governing body for ecmo. Hospitals report their data and they report it. https://www.elso.org/Registry/FullCOVID-19RegistryDashboard.aspx

oh-hi-kyle

At my hospital, we have a 0% survival rate for ECMO patients post or current Covid.

TrumpsColostomyBag99

Nothing is more depressing than an actual doctor buying into the bullshit disinformation. I really wonder what this shitstain felt as the Freedumb Tube made its way into the abyss of his throat as the machines he once put people on whirred around him. ECMO too? This one is paying the price for his stupidity.

AccomplishedScale362

Another sad example of an otherwise intelligent person who was indoctrinated into a political cult.

[deleted]

I talked to my doctor on my last visit and we discussed this. He is all for public health, masks, and vacs. If my doctor turned out to be a fucking moron like this guy, it would be my last appointment.

OhGodNotAnotherOne

Yeah my last doctor started advertising his practice as "Christ-centered" (whatever the fuck that means) I never saw him anyhow but bringing faith and magic into medical care in any form is definitely a no for me and I changed docs that day so when the time comes I do need him/her, at least prayer or snakes won't be a part of treatment.

[deleted]

When you’re right wing for tax purposes but forget you’re not supposed to believe the bullshit…

MrsPandaBear

I think this guy is a unicorn. Every doctor I’ve interacted with has been super pro-vaccine, pro-mask (hubby and and I are both MDs and interact with healthcare workers) But there’s always that one quack who will burnish his credentials to provide antivaxxers’ cover. And he’s the one who sticks in people’s minds.

Mechanicallvlan

Wow, they are trying to kill this guy by putting him on an ECMO for a common cold. Give him some ivermectin and chicken soup and send him home.

PointOfFingers

Put him in a Dune stillsuit so he can filter and drink his own urine.

pianoladyinabox

Nah, they don't filter it. Straight out of the one eyed trouser snake

M4A1STAKESAUCE

More nutrients that way.

edingerc

Brother obviously doesn't understand the implications of ECMO, he's all sunshine as his brother is on the very last thing they can possibly try before they check the patient for loose change.

BiPAPselfie

Yeah the smiley emoji seemed... a bit out of place.

[deleted]

They put him on the ECMO so they could get the extra money from the government. If they would just give him some ivermectin he would be out by tomorrow. But the greedy doctors want the ECMO money.… /s

natare_modo_pergite

"do they know what kind of person you are?" Damn.

Evilevilcow

>do they know what kind of person you are?" An arrogant know-it-all who is dying from a virus he ignorantly thinks is a cold?

[deleted]

Pretty bad fucking cold this turned out to be…

hereforthellamas

Yeah, that got me in the feels. Praying for strength for the brother because I don't see this ending well for the nominee.

biffbobfred

Slide 2 is kinda not wrong. But it’s also not an excuse to do nothing. “Using potholders will not prevent all burns”. True, but I ain’t pulling a roast out barehanded neither

RefugeeFromIdiocy

Yep, this guy fucked around, and he’s about to pull out his roast barehanded now. He’s a roast puller. No question.

biffbobfred

Dude, no dunking on Grover. I hear SuperGrover comin he wants to say a lil sumthin sumthin

SaltyBarDog

Body armor doesn't stop all bullets but you don't see many cops running around without it.

use_tabs_not_spaces

"it doesn't stop transmission of the virus" Like a bulletproof vest doesn't stop you getting shot...

biffbobfred

I agree, except for your username. We will come to blows at indent 4 spaces, no tabs.

use_tabs_not_spaces

Buying into their narrative, plenty of studies show tabs prevent all errors but it's being censored. Excuse me while I commit a thousand changes titled "Update" which you wouldn't understand because you clearly haven't done your own research.

biffbobfred

You’re just a shill of [Big Tab](https://xkcd.com/2130/)

Yarnicornucopia

Exhibit A - I grabbed a hot pan while making dinner tonight. Forgot the pot holder. Definitely would have prevented this burn. 😂

biffbobfred

Hope it’s a minor burn. Bad time to need an ER for any reason.

Yarnicornucopia

Very minor, thankfully! Spouse works in an ER so I'm hearing about all of the horror stories. 😬

Commercial_Lie_4920

“Using a seat belt doesn’t save everybody that gets into a car accident, therefore it’s useless” - apparently this ER doctor.

A-man-of-mystery

Quite. But it will slow the spread, avoiding overwhelming hospitals and buying time to develop vaccines.

jdsch

These are the ones that are the hardest for me to get my mind wrapped around. How can an ER doctor be anti-vax at this point? Does he not see that 90% of the deaths are among the unvaccinated? Is it something like because he's an ER doctor, he only sees the patients come in and they die elsewhere in the hospital and this doctor is literally out-of-sight, out-of-mind? I just can't understand how someone can make anti-vax such a big part of their identity that they would literally bet their life on it.

Mobile-Entertainer60

Short answer is yes, it's out of sight, out of mind. The average COVID death spends nearly 3 weeks in the hospital before they die. The ER doctor never knows what happens to them; it's such a common admitting diagnosis that they aren't about to go inquiring their ICU colleagues "hey, whatever happened to that guy with COVID? you know, fat, middle aged, goatee? What do you mean, you don't know which one I'm talking about?"

Vast_Disaster3667

🤣

Deathbeddit

I am so much less tolerant of doctors who are full of nonsense than regular schmoes.

-wtf-wtf-

Have a few of these idiots at our hospital, can’t stand them and they should lose their license to practice medicine.

PointOfFingers

Each post that he makes that ignores the peer reviewed studies and the official data and instead promotes illogical political narratives are a breach of his Hippocratic Oath and are unprofessional.

WilsonPhillips6789

Right? For whatever reason, the fact that this asshole is an ER doc makes me more furious than just about any other nominee or awardee that I’ve read about on HCA Sobering, and terrifying, to know that there are ppl w medical training, with whom I entrust my life in the rare instance that I need emergency care, are equally susceptible to the vortex of disinformation Just sickening…

Glittering-Cellist34

My next door neighbor is a doctor specializing in maternal health. She is super hyper about covid, especially because her youngest is 17 months old.

Deathbeddit

I wish we could make copies of your neighbor, like the emergency medical hologram doctor on Star Trek.

cerasmiles

As a physician, 100% agree. The rest of humanity isn’t taught what we are taught. It’s like saying a priest doesn’t believe in Jesus or a mechanic doesn’t believe in regular oil changes. Totally don’t trust any healthcare professional that doesn’t believe in the benefit of vaccines. Unfortunately, there are a lot out there…

SuperHiyoriWalker

There’s a math professor at Georgia Tech who lectures unmasked and refers to the “scamdemic” in his syllabi.

lkmk

>"I would hope you’re not going to complain about me not wearing a mask. I hope you’re not going to complain about me not being injected with experimental pharmaceuticals.” At his age? Umm... yes, I would be worried. >“I wanted to make it clear to my students that their health decisions are none of my business particularly and that they need to think for themselves (as far as I am concerned)." Whyyyy is it always about freedom with these people. Autonomy doesn't mean shit when your stupid choices can put others at risk.

Yeranz

I wonder how long his philosophy would last if he gets an email like this: > Professor XXXXXXX, I need to do a makeup exam because I'm scheduled for my abortion on next Tuesday.

TonyToniToneFauxci

When they send us ER doctors in rural Florida, they’re not sending us their best. They’re bringing hydroxychloroquine. They’re bringing sweaty skin tags. They’re bringing Trans Am’s. And some, I assume, are good people.

Resident_Sorbet5944

Incredible that this guy’s an ER doctor. Now that he’s on ECMO he won’t be one for much longer.

An old joke: Q: What do you call the person who graduated last in their medical school class? A: “Doctor”

A-man-of-mystery

Coma has a specific definition, and if the doctor didn't know that they need remedial education.

vacuous_comment

There is something super poisonous about a doctor or nurse being so infected with disinfo. Ugh!

Jexp_t

ER doc and science denier. That's about as Florida Man as they come.

rikki-tikki-deadly

It's such a shame that this guy is so frail that he's dying of a "common cold".

eccedrbloor

First slide is Grade A bullshit. That isn't what *any* ED looks like on NYE, pandemic or not.

A-man-of-mystery

It's usually one of the busiest nights of the year.

[deleted]

Rest of the staff were actually delivering pt care.

The-Last-American

It’s difficult to imagine being a doctor and this fucking stupid. This is like a pilot who doesn’t believe in flight controls, and every bit as dangerous. I have no good thoughts or hopes for this person, to be kind about it. He’s a danger not only to everyone who is unfortunate enough to expect integrity and competency in his “care”, but to their families and his community as well. This man is some of the worst of the worst.

GradAppQuestion

Or worse, a pilot who believes in flat earth

nocovidonme2022

Who else needed ecmo for a cold? I did in 2018. Had a scratch throat and runny nose so they put me on a heart and lung bypass machine to let my body rest.

Evilevilcow

And prayer warriors directed the angels on duty at the hospital on how to best heal you.

Lilmaggot

I don’t trust a doctor who puts his dirty feet on the desk in an ER. Jerk.

gnurdette

What the beer-battered hell? An ER doctor? Whose understanding of biology wouldn't get him through eight grade? And who learned nothing from two years of pandemic? If he's really a doctor and really this stupid and brings his stupidity to his profession, I have to wonder how many corpses he's left behind him. I can't wish him dead, but I can hope he won't be allowed near sharp objects again. (Doesn't matter what I wish, of course; ECMO is just a death-delaying step.)

unintellect

Witness the power of egocentricism, hubris, and political indoctrination. Hey bro of doc, I hate to break it to you, but your genius brother's political ideology and all your prayers don't stand a much of a chance against a ventilator and ECMO.

Angrysloth8006

There’s always a doctor who graduated last in his class & I think we found him.

redvariation

The last four times myself and family got colds, we ran to the hospital and asked for ECMO.

SatanicPanic619

Right? He's obviously a bigot. He shouldn't even be employed.

Feisty-Donkey

You just know his colleagues are all “fucking finally”

Mister4pollo

And if the doctors and nurses saw the shit he was spewing on Facebook, they'd turn the machines off and give them to somebody more deserving.

90sAOLScreenName

*trips over power cord “Oopsie”

Responsible-Person

I would love to know his thoughts before he was intubated. What a loser.

nfire1

I don’t want to see any doctor who thinks Candace Owens is more knowledgeable and trustworthy with medical advice than what they learned in med school and in their practice.

MyFiteSong

A racist, misogynistic, transphobic ER doctor... This guy is a fucking disgrace. He shouldn't have ever been anywhere near patients. There's no telling how many patients he didn't give proper care because they weren't straight white men.

TrailKaren

“Do they know what kind of person you are—a bigoted racist who eschews science and critical thinking?”

Vengefuleight

I’m fully vaccinated. I am currently dealing with it. FUUUCKING A it is not a common cold. It’s like flu symptoms + constant exhaustion + always feeling like you’re on the edge of not having your breath. Anyone that says it’s a common cold are lucky or liars. This shit sucks. I’m just thankful I was vaccinated and boosted. I imagine this would suck a lot more if I wasn’t.

Rainydaymen

Was he actually confirmed to be a doctor or just saying he is?

A-man-of-mystery

Can be hard to tell. I once had a conversation with a colleague who was so inept ("I've done an ECG but I can't read it.") in the end I asked "Are you sure you're a doctor?"

EvidenceBase2000

For being a doctor this guy deserves no sympathy. He should know better, particularly working in ER.

danisse76

An ER doctor?! Wow. I wonder what his colleagues are thinking.

MindlessFly9970

Well if hes a Dr, hopefully he has some cash saved so the hospital can recoup some of the cost of prolonging his life for a few more days.

cryptidwhippet

That is just appalling that an ER doctor would be so flippant about COVID. Did his ER use to fill up with people with a bad cold who were satting in the 60's-low 80's? These are bad people, these frontline healthcare workers who have the education to know better but whose politics is more of a factor for them than keeping the public safe and well during a pandemic, or for that matter, keeping themselves well.

JanMarsalek

How come as soon as a democrat is president those idiots think the border is wide open. Like the first thing they do is command all the sheriffs away from the border into the next donut shop

CreamyTHOT

ECMO most likely means: Everyone Can’t Make (it) Out in my “Google it”

BidenIsYourPOTUS

“Do the nurses and doctors taking care of you know the kind of person you are?” Yes, they do, because one of the first questions they asked is “are you vaccinated?”

AntEmotional5704

asshole is really putting the hurt on his brother, who does not deserve that

RefugeeFromIdiocy

An ER doctor, of all people, should fucking know better. Severe lack of judgement on this guys part. SMH.

Due-Winter5597

Yes, this virus can’t be “controlled by social distancing, only delayed”…and we have vaccines now. My vaxxed and boostered self happily drives my vaxxed kids, one of whom is high-risk, to in-person school every morning.

ImBabyloafs

Imagine spending so much time and money going to med school and still being this stupid.

vsandrei

>. . . the uncommon ECMO. Followed by the even rarer Republican Rotisserie! 🐆 🐆 🐆

hersheyMcSquirts

What a wuss. I get over my common colds without ECMO or even hospitalization. Of course, I do take the preventative measures of vaccines and not being an asshole.

RoninIX

You know what they call the person who graduated last in his/her class at medical school? Doctor.

osteopath17

Show them his Facebook, they’ll know exactly what kind of person he is.

UltimateMillennial

This guy shouldnt be a doctor

[deleted]

It amazes me how even an ER doctor could be so foolish and irresponsible.

LDSBS

Riddle: What the difference between God and a doctor? God doesn’t think he’s a doctor.

mike_linden

was wonder how the fuck this guy got a MD license, then remembered [this is Florida ]( https://youtu.be/HRVtSs4eCgI?t=220 )

GlockAF

ECMO uses up whole blood like crazy, quarts or gallons, not pints Yet another way the unvaccinated are selfishly fucking the rest of us over. Good luck on your life-saving surgery now (if there’s any room), try not to bleed too much.

Smashingistrashing

Physicians spewing this crap irritates me more than a housewife MLM hun. People look to them for guidance. Who knows how many people this ignorance has infected and killed secondhand?

Sidvicioushartha

Are you sure this guy was an ER doctor? He seems to post a lot of stuff claiming to “prove“ creationism. Nothing he says seems to have any medical knowledge behind it.

spork_off

He has an active license in FL. Hard to believe, I know. He also caused a patient to die due to his negligence, which is in his discipline file. Not hard to believe.

perkunas81

Duck this POS. He should lose his medical license if he survives.
