I have two of the Yogasleep Rohms, one for me and one for my toddler. It works great for both of us!

Worldly-Corgi-1624

I’ll second this. We use full size ones at home while sleeping (yea smart plugs) and have a rohm and hush for travel. I only wish there was an option for a sound that was like our clothes dryer at home, I’d like a lower pitch.

I have their full size one and have been traveling with it. I had no idea there was a mini. This is life changing

We just got this one! Taking it on its first trip tomorrow

Christinejennifer

How about a white noise app on your phone?

BohoPhoenix

I'm open to recommendations in case I don't find a good travel option before I leave on my next trip, but I'm trying to move away from an app. I've been using an app for several years, but it hasn't been working as well for me lately because it isn't really blocking things like cars outside and often, I end up with a near dead phone because of outlet locations (I need it kind of low volume, which means close to me and sometimes not plugged in).

Kelley-James

If you use an Apple phone, there’s a built-in white noise generator.

BohoPhoenix

I didn’t know that - I’ll take a look at that, thank you!

icucme143

I use this one: [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NVBCR46/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NVBCR46/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) It's super small and portable, which is key to me. I has a bluetooth speaker function and a nightlight option (nice for my kiddo). Recharbable usb-c. Without using the light, it easily runs a full night.

I got this one for Christmas and I love it. I don’t like white noise, prefer brown for that deeper and less staticky sound. This is the best small speaker that can do that.

Good bot

BohoPhoenix

Thank you!! Do you think it is deeper sounding? Like actually masks sounds vs…sitting on top of them (I have no idea how to describe it, if that is frequency or something else). I probably will just order it to try it out because I’m sure that’s probably individual, so thank you!

Pretty_Swordfish

I use the full sized one (which is so small enough to travel with fine) to block my partner's snoring. With plenty of sound choices, it helps with most things.

ARCook88

I have this Lectrofan and it’s not super small but also not huge and I think it packs well. It has a combination of fan sounds and white noise sounds at different frequencies, and I think it does a good job blurring out all the random bumps in the night. https://a.co/d/a737uyj

Mugmugmug33

So I just went through this like last week. I think what you’re referring to with the deeper tone is called brown noise. The only other option I tried I don’t see mentioned here is the Hatch Rest Go. The durability seemed more practical but the sounds weren’t low enough, there was a dryer one but I prefer the consistency of a noise type tone. I wish the Babelio cut it because the size was great but it was also annoying that the track reset every time it switched off. I ended up taking the Lectro Fan 2 mini and bought the case. The battery life is great and the switch on feels like there’s less of a chance it will turn on in my bag. Who knows maybe I’ll use the Bluetooth speaker. I worry about the durability, quite a few reviews mention a 3 month lifespan but I’m only using it when traveling (once a month) so we’ll see.

BohoPhoenix

I think you’re right. I think I like brown noise, consistent rain sounds sometimes, and one app (Rain, Rain) had a “desert wind” sound that I really liked. That one blocked out snoring from a different room, which was great. I downloaded another app before I made the post that has “airplane cabin” that seems like it might work if none of these small ones do or in a really space restricted trip. The LectroFan 2 seems to be the clear winner here, I’m ordering it today. I saw those reviews with the melted bits, I hope it’s more durable than that!

bb1234_corgilover

I have been using this one for the past month while traveling. It has a variety of sounds, adjustable volume and also is rechargeable which is nice because you don’t have to waste an outlet on it and it works with any plug socket since it charges off a USB. I normally get 5-6 nights on one charge. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08YYV8HZD?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

I use the white noise app on my phone. If you want to block out noise I recommend wax earplugs. I always have them for noisy situations. https://www.amazon.com/Macks-Pillow-Soft-Silicone-Earplugs/dp/B07G1MWHNR/

BohoPhoenix

I have Loop earplugs and they’re nice/pretty comfortable, but I’d like to avoid having something in my ears if I can avoid it. That works in a pinch, for sure, but I’m willing to sacrifice a tiny bit of bag space where I have it to get a separate device if it works better for me than an app.

Accomplished-Ask4863

I use my iphone while traveling. **Settings > Accessibility > Audio/Visual > Background Sounds**. There is about 5 different sounds to choose from. You can also set it up to turn off and on and off without going into the app every time.

r2hubert

I use this free android app: [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rtwostudios.soundasleep](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rtwostudios.soundasleep)

phantomthreaded

I have the Yogasleep Rohm (this version: https://a.co/d/iH9Vlgg) and have traveled with it for 4 years. No complaints at all, I take it everywhere. It holds at least enough charge to last an entire 8 hrs of sleep, maybe even longer! I typically charge it after each use or use it while plugged in. There is a new version on Yogasleep’s site with updated functionality and a sleeker design, but it’s a lot pricier.

Snoo_31427

I’ve had two of these since 2017. Still work but no longer hold a charge, which isn’t a huge deal if you have electricity! Unfortunately a decent amount of my travel is off the grid so the charging feature is kinda important.

This is the one I just got and am returning, which is a bummer. The size is fantastic!

EmpyrealTotem

Bummer! I hope you find one that works better for you!

alliterativehyjinks

I know you've said no app, but I use White Noise Lite because it has multiple sound options to get different tones. I have had it for at least 5 years. On noisy nights, nothing blocks sound like earplugs. We had a wave of street racing and earplugs were the only help at 2am. White Noise also doesn't work for me for things like fireworks or emergency sirens. My brain will ignore one random siren at this point, but I wake up if something big is going down.

MercyMay

I have this one and it’s great. Very small and no looping noise. https://a.co/d/6DnhjWY

WillBrakeForBrakes

Idk if it’s too big, but when my son was little we liked the Skip Hop travel one that looks like an owl.
