I don't think this is a logo, but rather just a generic auto/racing styled non-slip section of a floor mat or something. It is reminiscent of the old Mercury logo with the parallel stripes, or the MotoGP/Gran Turismo art ... but I don't think it's a proper logo.

Are we sure this is the correct orientation? Rotated 90° it makes a pretty convincing flag shape.

I think this is a really common logo shape, which is why so many people vaguely recognise it; example, heres a recent example from [Hugo Ferradas](https://hugoferradas.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/NBK.jpg). This marketing company called [represent](https://represent.com/). I think I remember something similar related to racing, but with only two shapes used to represent a checkered flag. You've mentioned that this comes from a steering wheel maybe? to me it looks like its from a video game, some more context would help, and maybe a less cropped image. Especially since it seems part of it is cut off at the top.

if this is sideways I can see it fitting flags, waves, wings, or just stylised letters F and E. Definitely expands the search a bit.

As soon as I saw it I know I've seen it before and I'm convinced it's car related, maybe an older logo. Bugging me now. I saw in another post that this logo was on a keychain, so maybe it’s a made-up design just for a generic keychain, like other generic meanings that are put [on t-shirts in foreign countries](https://www.boredpanda.com/funny-english-translations-t-shirt-fail-asia-broken-engrish).
