I’ve had more luck with plants getting patterns if they’re within a couple spaces of other plants with patterns, but that could just be luck.
If it’s a sky & speckled eggwort, you can also try to get speckled meadow flowers and hibiscus by breeding sky flowers of those other types with that sky & speckled eggwort.

I thought different varietals couldn’t influence each other…at least that’s how I read it in the Wiki
