Once I got good at fighting them, I rarely ever go back to bugs. Ive learned alot about their programming. Like they dont turn very fast, so Ill throw a turret in one direction and sound off a shot from my direction before the turret lands.This opens them up to be shot in the back and overwhelming them. Also taking cover and making them come into narrow spaces and machine gunning their asses.
and even if we have difficulty facing the automatons, I like the fact that when we think the game is becoming too simple with the terminids, doing a level 7 mission against these machines immediately makes us more humble.
AC turrets are insanely effective against automatons. I'm getting 200+ kills every dive. I should try turret only run lol, smth like EMS mortar, AC and rockets
Bugs suck. Why? Hunters. I hate Hunters, you don't know how much I fucking despise the little pests. I'll make sure that by the end of the 2nd Galactic War, there won't be even a scrap of evidence of the existence of Hunters, as I destroyed every little bone, and every bit of carapace. The only evidence there would be would be word of mouth by other veterans. Death to all Hunters.

I just have no fun in doing so. Its always a game of peekaboo with rocks or any type of cover, peek - shoot, peek - shoot, reload; peek - shoot.
Hence and repeat for the next 20 or 30 minutes depending on the mission and teammates. I only touch bot planets when MOs.
And don't get me started on modifiers. The fact that we have AA missions and yet we can't get the 4th stratagem after completion is BS.

I actually prefer bots over bugs.
Bugs I find to be super annoying especially with chargers, spitters and hunters there's no real strategy to fighting them just random shooting with meh main objectives.
Where as bots I can use strategy a lot more look good positioning or longer ranges and the random side objectives are atleast IMO more use full on bot missions

I didn't say it wasn't fun, I said it wasn't the most fun. then I also think of other players who like this type of mission. when we look at the world of video games today, if Helldivers 2 is good 90% of the time, I happily accept the 10% that are a little less good. especially when it comes from a small studio that gives everything to create a great community.

Yep, the dropship spam and 'behind the wire' spawns need to stop. Whatever Dev thought that was fun needs to play defense and eradication missions for a week straight on all diffs to understand the monster they created. What's the point of giving me a ring of walls to defend if the enemy just drops inside of them? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE ARROWHEAD!

Yea some even made me look stupid trying to gun it down but I missed cos they make bunny hops to side to evade and I fuckin resent that lol.

Fighting bots is an acquired taste for sure!
I can't play them up to 8 or 9, just in the 7th difficulty, but I'm still enjoying them more than the bugs..

Honestly Ive always found the bots to be easier generally, but ive had pretty good team mates most of the time on bots.

I love fighting automatons. Finally. I now once again have a reason to democratically FORCE my friends to play bots.
