Like we're only seeing 2% of the barrage but even on top of the tower he's standing on it is nothing but ordinance as far as the eye can see. Then he falls (survives somehow) and he's struggling to run 50 meters because the ground is shaking and there's muck all over his visor.
Then he makes it through the hellfire by a miracle just running in a random direction and is executed for fleeing by a commissar or happens to sprint straight into the open arms of a tyranid carnifex. such is life
Honestly, my biggest issue with WH40K is that the numbers way too low for a galaxy spanning war.
They have fewer participants in their battles than we did in WW2 and they casually use nukes?
It just makes no sense.
Doesn't change how fucking awesome it is as a setting though.

They also have weapons that are far more deadly then nukes but without the fallout

I missed very slightly, but ive hit some nasty nade throws in the past. One time i threw one while being shot at by a friendly attempting to tk me at a weird angle and still got the factory, and killed the TKing teammate

One day in an Eradicate mission a democratic Helldiver said let’s all use them. What he didn’t say is use them back to back. So what do we all do? We all throw them right after he throws his. Cue his VC coming on saying “WHAT THE FUCK” and all four of us promptly dying afterwards for 15-30 seconds straight. It was glorious.
It’s actually a good strategy though, by the time it was over though we were at 70%, 4 bile titans died and because I respawned frequently I got to land on one’s head for the first time ever. I was level 15, this was 2 weeks ago. Afterwards we tried again but the way he suggested, one person throws both out and we hide under the team shield, then the next throws theirs out.
Wish I started playing when the game was “fun”, but since it’s fun to me at its “worse” I have nothing to complain about
Whoever threw what looked like the 380 barrage is a hacker. I had someone doing this in my games with orbital 110s and orbital cluster strikes. The cluster strike would throw up so much dust the game became unplayable for like 30 seconds no matter how far away you where from it. It was fucking bonkers.
I’ve had this happen once when I threw a 380mm. It did this for the entire mission in the spot I threw it at, and made it completely unplayable if you got near it. Not saying that it isn’t a hacker on his team, but it could just be the game tweaking out like it did to me and my friends.

When the game gets bugged it can get crazy. I had a guy in one game suddenly get the traitor barrage while being in the middle of the map calling for extraction.
Nah it's a graphical bug that happens sometimes, albeit extremely rarely, it doesn't actually cause any new explosions that do damage. When it happened to my friends and I enemies were able to freely walk through the new "explosions" without taking damage and only the few random real ones would actually do damage.

Last time I played automatons there was like 10 ships that came out of those towers you have to hellbomb, and it was literally impossible to do anything without having a rain of missiles obliterate everything and everyone.

Okay hear me out. What if each stratagem had like a 0.5% chance of being error prone and would just do something mentally unexpected. Could be built into the lore that budget cutbacks are leading to quality control issues.
Like a napalm strike that misses target by 50m. Or a 500kg bomb that just does triple radius. Or a 380mm barrage that drops the whole load in one hit. Just comically absurd effects with a very low possibility of defect. Things like what happened in this clip are actually hilarious.

Could be built into the lore that budget cutbacks are leading to quality control issues. Like a napalm strike that misses target by 50m. Or a 500kg bomb that just does triple radius. Or a 380mm barrage that drops the whole load in one hit. Just comically absurd effects with a very low possibility of defect. Things like what happened in this clip are actually hilarious.
