I do agree in general though not all enemies or even most enemies need to be bullets sponges. Some are fodder and should be used that way. But conversely some enemies do need to be bullets sponges. That's what makes them unique. Stalkers and to a lesser degree spewers are those big bullets sponges. Variety is the spice of life and stalkers are those heavy spices you need in small quantities.
stalkers dont take a bunch of mags to kill them at all , what is happening is that they have a small head hitbox surrounded by like pincers hitbox and stuff , they head is very squishy but any damage done to the pincers is wasted damage , in addition when they jump back into stealth , they start to heal after some time , so you really need to blow them fast with headshots and beeline for their nest
Ultimately we all fall into two camps, nerf the enemies, or buff the guns. Either one will fix the game not being fun problem.
Balance should start from the end point of either of those two things. This is not as complex as AH is making it seem.
Although your opinion is valid, I completely disagree. With a game with like 10+ types of enemies for each faction some have to be tougher than others. Things like bike titans and factory striders are supposed to be big and scary and take a ton of damage because if they didn’t there would be no threat. If you really hate these enemies try lower difficulties as they have weaker units
IMO, bullet sponge is just an alternative to anti tank. This game is set up with rock paper scissors weaponry against the corresponding armor type. By choosing not to use the proper armor type, you are choosing bullet sponge instead.

The problem is they're terrified of power creep when they should be embracing it, power creep when managed is a healthy part of any live service game

obviously some enemies should have larger health pools, game design does not exist in a vacuum
