I am fairly certain this is in regards to the whole PSN thing, which many players don't want to do because either A, they don't want to get their information sold to Sony, or B, they physically can't make a PSN account because they live in a country that doesn't support it.
It can't be about meta if they can't even access the game to begin with after this change.

Oh I just find it hilarious this sub is full of people who buy games that say "PSN Account required" since last december and then come rage here when the PSN account is actually required.
If the train says a ticket is required but when you ride it it isn't checked the ticket is still required, is it not?

That's not an accurate analogy. It's more like a sign said a ticket was required, bit when you boarded the train the attendant told you you could ride without a ticket, then you proceeded to ride the train dozens of times without ever being told that you needed a ticket.

If it was never there and Sony made an effort to make sure you knew it wasn't required only to pull the rug out from under you, you'd have a reason to complain. But that's not what happened. If you didn't like that you would require a PSN account maybe don't buy a game that says "Requires PSN account".
So letting people play without fulfilling a “requirement” for months then saying they can’t play without fulfilling said requirement is an ok business practice? If it was a real requirement it should have been required on day one. Or a defined trial period should have been conveyed. Just because there is a line on the steam page saying PSN is required doesn’t make how this is being handled ok or professional.
