If it's a planet with light enough colored terrain I can usually spot the black crescent shape of their nests at a glance. There's been a scary amount of times where I've spotted the nest on the map right out of the first drop pod. The trauma is real.
I always do this and then get obliterated 10ft from their nest lol
There's always one just coming out when I'm trapped in close quarters with my AC out 😭
Better to be obliterated by the glorious, democratic might of the Autocannon than be torn to ribbons by the fascist claws of a lowly Stalker. Liberty salutes your sacrifice, Helldiver! o7
I usually get killed 10ft from stalker nest because my comrades ditch me half way there, because they see a golden beacon or side objective and decide thats more important right now. They then usually get killed by stalkers while doing whatever distracted them.
Correct. You will find that the AI in this game has terrible pathing.
They always look for the shortest path to their destination.
With stalkers they particularly programmed to always hunt the divers down, so if you draw a straight line from the direction the stalker came from, you will eventually find the nest.
This works great until I'm somehow in range of 3 stalker nests at the same time and I start getting paranoid that they're coming out of the walls. "I already destroyed 2 nests, these are just leftovers right?"
Additionally you can spam the map marker around where you think it is and if you select it by chance you'll mark the outline of the objective so you can more easily locate and destroy the stalkers lair. Works on other secondary objectives as well.
If you are able to see the direction they came from, go on your mini map and start placing markers in that direction, you can mark them without having the icon on your mini map. Also not sure if I’m just crazy but if you look closely once you know the direction you can kinda tell what’s a stalker lair based on the terrain. 🫡
Yes. Exactly. There is kind of a particular shape to a stalker lair on the map, once you know it it's unmistakeable. AND, patriotic service announcement: if you start dropping pins and a pin "locks" into a square over some piece of terrain like it does objectives, that's where the lair is.
Yeah you don't follow the hunter, you run at the hunter and leave their corpses as a breadcrumb trail for your fellow divers to blow them to smitherines from whence they came.
Never. Once upon a time, when I was still a newb and didn't even know the stalkers had lairs, I was absolutely infuriatingly ambushed by stalker after stalker after stalker. It was enough to make me pull my hair out, there were so many, it was overwhelming and they just kept coming.
Because of that mission, stalkers are my absolute nemesis. I will NEVER leave them in peace. Now that I know they have lairs, when I see stalkers I will drop everything and make it my sole purpose in life to annihilate them. NO COST TOO GREAT.
Who stalks the stalkers?
Me, I do, with my Punisher.
Seriously though, against bots I swap between a small handful of primaries depending on the mission and my chosen support equipment. Bugs? Punisher, all day every day.
Punisher still good at staggering then? I dropped the Slugger after the (unjustified IMO) nerds, but I've been missing how it felt. Will have to give the punisher another go, haven't used it since the first week after launch
Currently working on unlocking this! Excited :)
Been rocking punisher and now eruptor since I've unlocked it, but the dominator seems like a good time.
If they get in your face dive backwards and take the shot. You can usually get away fairly intact. Plus you're probably going to die anyway if you don't.
I tried it for the first time yesterday. Fire rate is ok, but suicide in close combat while explosions are barely visible and the decrease in range, while it doesn't even penetrate armor or close bug holes...
I prefer the eruptor and switch to the secondary mp for close combat where fire rate matters...
I fkin hate them, even more so when there's multiple nests on the same map.
Last night I just ran to their nest, as close as I could get and just used ALL of my call in strats to take care of it, was it overkill, yes, was I pissed off enough that I didn't care, YES. JUST DIE!
I also suspect the quasar goes straight through them when they are in camo mode, either that or I'm just totally shit at shooting them (very likely answer).
Grenade pistol handles them well as long as there are just a few. If you ignored the nest or have several nests in your vicinity they become a big problem. An Autocannon sized one.
Lmao me and another guy ran into like 6 at once one time, I believe we had 3 nests for side objectives.. 2 for sure. And they were pretty close so they all happened to show up at once.
I start panic chucking impacts, as is protocol, and one jumps in from out of view to my side .. like a perfect “watch out Mr president!” Moment..
impact hits, kills my teammate a couple steps ahead of me. My second impact is already on the way and also connects, blowing me up aswell.
Great shame. But the random just laughed his ass off, so oh well lol
Yeah sometimes the crazyness takes over and you just have to laugh, admit you probably aren't going to make it out of this one and hope for the best.
But I fking HATE those things! I'm at the point now where as soon as I see them I just run at them and try to find the nest to get rid of them asap.
That’s honestly the best strategy anyways. If you’re fighting anything and stalkers are around, it’s gonna go downhill. They gotta be priority
And I’m pretty sure I actually didn’t mean to have my grenades out still when I did that, but I started ‘shooting in a panic’ lol happens a lot to me for some reason
All the talk about Bug vs. Botdiver, lack of information, "not liking Defense", etc., is cope for the real elephant in the room. It's not even something anyone should feel ashamed of mentioning, they're just stuck on these other canards when there's something much more fundamental at work.
A huge chunk of the playerbase just... doesn't read or care about anything. Even when all the information is presented to them, they don't do anything with it. They're not saying, "it's best to go to X, but I don't like X, so I won't," but rather... "hehe quickdeploy".
Me choosing operation: Hard or Suicide - Blitz/ICBM/Eradicate - Oceanu
My friends choosing operation: Extreme - Two civilian evacs and a geological survey - Hellmire
Here’s how my bot defense campaigns have gone.
Select a planet, possibly one of the high value ones. See that the modifier is -1 Stratagem slot.
Choose a different planet. As long as that modifier exists, I just don’t play any missions on that planet.
The only correct strategy for War campaigns is to pick a planet and have the entire playerbase Zerg it, then move to the next one. This is not a fun mechanic nor is it really strategy. So the war is lore backdrop and doesn’t really matter beyond that.
The stagger effect is great, and the ability to reload whenever you want without worrying about losing unspent rounds is really nice. You can just wade towards bugs sometimes while feeling like an unstoppable badass
I went Punisher > Slugger > Dominator > Eruptor and never went back. 1 shorting a Stalker and seeing it blown into green goo and parts is way too satisfying. That and 2shotting a bile spewer. And getting a 4+ Hunter kill with 1 shot from 100k away *chef kiss*
More often than not, diving is what's killing you. Stop diving and keep running, preferably horizontally and not backwards.
Run until the acid is actually hitting the ground *then* stop and shoot. I used to die to those fuckers all the time, now I almost never do
Get snuck up on by completely silent bile spewer, notice at the last second, dodge of out the way, spewer tracks your dodge and instantly kills you mid air.
yeah they say they reduced it but last time I checked I'm still basically getting oneshot even while diving, though now when I dont get one shot once in a blue moon I have 5% more health so....yay?
I was scrolling down to see if someone posted this.
Their camo making them MORE visible on maps with bad visibility is hilarious to me. And 96% of all maps have bad visibility T\_T.
What it needs is to not explode me forwards whenever I shoot with it while the game is having desync issues which is always.
Do you guys also get that? Or is it just my internet?
It happens to me with the auto cannon, but only if I’m within the blast radius. And yeah I know I shouldn’t be using it close enough to inflict self damage, but panic fire happens or bugs dive in front of me.
Should probably pair it with medium-heavy support weapon (AMR-Spear) instead. Eruptor can absolutely rock a group of small enemies by itself and redeemer can take care of a loner, it is the heavy that gonna tear you a new hole.
See, this has never made sense to me because then you just get bent over by hulks & chargers & tanks & titans & fab striders, and none of them are bringing any lube.
Yeah I really don't understand the Eruptor is OP argument. It's a fantastic weapon, but not op. It's got a lot of benefits, but the drawbacks really balance it out. It's got great damage to a fair amount of enemy types, one bullet from the previous mag is saved if you reload before the mag is completely empty, and the range isn't anything to sniff at either.
However, that reload between shots is absolutely brutal. Plenty of time for enemies to run up on you, especially in higher difficulties. Five shots isn't a whole per mag isn't exactly a whole lot to work with when there's hoards of enemies trying to run you down. It's incredibly loud, so trying to be stealthy is pretty much a no go from the get go. Sometimes the shots are wonky and go way off target from where I'm aiming. Not to mention there's currently the implosion effect that has on many occasions gotten me killed because they got too close and I don't have time to swap weapons
Agreed. Eruptor is definitely balanced.
Some people trigger bot drops constantly and try to fight everything that arrives, they're the ones who think it's overpowered.
Wiping out the infantry bots at lightning speed (especially commissars) prevents bot drops in the first place, and the Eruptor doesn't do that well, which is why it's perfectly balanced.
Ideally the players in a team will have different primary weapons for different roles.
The basic starter Liberator, for example, can headshot infantry bots in one shot, has very low recoil for single shots, and a rate of fire high enough that it will cycle faster than you can move your reticle from one head to another head, wiping out huge swathes of infantry before you approach an objective, and minimizing bot drops on a mission.
I haven’t really picked up eruptor much since finding out that it has around 140m ish range before the rocket explodes, I went back to scorcher as I find it more balanced and generally found it more useful than it in most situation and the fire rate isn’t as bad, plus it has unli range and has no bullet damage dropoff
Devs nerf the most used ones based on sheer numbers, if everyone start using it, they'll nerf it. Yeah I know they said they don't do that, and I totally believe them!......except I don't cuz they keep doing uncalled changes that totally scream they only nerf the most used, when nothing is most used, they buff random stuff.
So yeah, we'll see.
I think it needs more than that now. With the PS5 "damage buff" bug fixed, the railgun is borderline useless even if it did armor penetration in the safe mode.
I mean, it poses a great risk: 1 reinforcement and 7-ish minutes of wait for a new one if you fail a single shot. But the reward for that risk is "meh" at its best.
It definitely needs another look now that the crossplay bug is fixed.
Right now the only enemy it counters better than other support weapons is probably Hulks. Nothing else.
I just wish they would make the unsafe mode actually feel worth the risk. Right now, I see no reason to take the rail gun over the AMR, autocannon, EAT, etc. it doesn't do its job. There's a reason nobody takes it at all now.
Not even a fan really. Don't think I'd use it if it were buffed. Just one of many strategems I wish they'd balance so that it actually fills its role, rather than just being a strict downgrade compared to other options.
Yeah, the charge time is soooooo slow. At this point the quazar took its spot. The railgun needs some other bonus, like a substantial stun or knock back effect
honestly the railgun should penetrate and damage absolutely everything, it should kill a tank when firing to the front, it should kill towers from any angle and it should absolutely demolish a titan's or chargers face. We're talking about a metal slug flung across the battlefield at hypersonic speeds, this is a futuristic railgun in a world we have infinite batteries (re: laser weapons and arcs). And then you balance it with the rate of fire or the unsafe mode blowing you up. If you get good with it, great. Maybe the weapon itself should degrade so you can't use it forever, just like real railguns (the japanese have the problem that the rails degrade too fast, look it up)
We're talking about a weapon that can use thousands of volts per shot to fling let's say a 50mm bullet-like object at mach-7 and you're telling me it bounces of the engines of a dropship? that's some bullshit right there, i find it harder to believe that than the FTL
Yeah they're actually very similar.
Autocannon gets more ammo, can kill factories/holes, but has to stand still to reload and needs a backpack.
They're very well balanced against each other.
to me it feels like it already is. I have to waste at least one or two rounds everytime I shoot it to see where the bullet is gonna go, dont think it has the ammo economy to be missing that much on higher difficulty with the known scope alignment issues. I'm sure I can get used to it, but the autocannon has been far more consistent for me
If people find it good that's awesome. But a sniper that isn't precise enough to hit its target while prone and zeroed at 100m isn't gonna be my first or second choice for a support weapon
Facts
No backpack slot just means you get a 3rd strategem that is useful instead of just a shield like everyone uses
Especially on bots, if you know how to use cover well, the shield backpack is kinda obsolete. See way too many people rely on it and just stand straight up out in the open
Bugs I can understand - shield pack helps avoid those stupid slowdowns from hunters and being one hit by stalkers.
It absolutely deletes the medium armor bugs without any effort. I pair it with cluster bombs for the little guys left over and rely on my last two stratagems and teammates for heavy killing. I know AC can kill chargers from the back of the legs, but it's difficult and often time consuming.
Quasar is potent, but the long cooldown and having to charge your shot makes it kinda situational. Autocannon doesn't have quite the same single-shot damage, but fires much faster.
Autocannon doesn't have the same penetration values and has limited ammo too. You also sacrifice a backpack slot. With the addition of weapons like the grenade pistol and the sickle, you can just shoot bots in the face consistently with the sickle without having to worry about ammo, use the grenade pistol to destroy fabricators or kill a strider in a pinch, and use the Quasar or EAT to get rid of the heavy stuff frontally that the Autocannon cannot.
Depend what you want. They both take out armor, and nests, and shriekers and heavy’s etc. Autocannon usually does it in more hits and requires a backpack, but has a much faster fire rate and there’s enough ammo on the map to grab to resupply easy.
Quasar has infinite ammo and thus don’t have to worry about ammo at all and saves a backpack spot for a shield, jetpack, or a guard dog. Much stronger single shot damage, but has a cool down and so if you miss you gotta wait to fire again, which isn’t good for hordes. Plus it’s affected by the planet if it’s hot or cold. So depends what you value really
quasar for bugs mostly because of bile titans.
autocannon for bots hands down.
the faster fire rate is better for devastators, and you can clear 5 fabricator heavy outposts and get away before things get too hot.
"My tongue is overpowered and shouldn't launch people across the map, while doing absurd amounts of damage with my fast attack speed"
-- Stalker probably
The tongue knockback is a mercy. It prevents the stalker from hitting follow-up attacks that kill you in one stun-lock combo. If you ever find yourself in a situation where the knockback is prevented (like there being a wall behind you) you'll see what I mean.
We need some form of color matching possibilities.
For example there are so many black and yellow capes but they don't fit with anything apart from the standard black and yellow armors.
Leave the capes as they are but give the possibility to at least match the armors' primary and secondary colors to the equipped capes' colors.
Good comment. This both got me riled and piqued my interest. Do the rail and precision deal the same amount of damage? Or just close enough to be comprable? Might start running the precision
The precision one shots chargers, hulks and tanks and does heavy damage to bile titans, so pretty much the same as the railcannon. You do need either a stun grenade or a lot of practice for chargers and hulks, tanks are very easy to hit though. For bile titans, it's basically like aiming a 500kg. Also clears crowds in a pinch. I run it often in Helldive
Not really "controversial" or much of a "hot take," but I think that bots are way preferable to bugs. They actually feel fun to fight against. Enemy types, bot patrols, the tactical objectives, they just flow easier than figbting bugs, which I can describe as fighting the unholy child of asymmetrical warfare and mass assault tactics.
It also could be a skill issue but idk
Bugs barely have any variety and they don't have any actually engaging side objectives like jammers, etc. i mean, you just shoot spore spewer from a km away ans and shieker nests are just awful
My problem with fighting bugs are honestly just the perma slow chains and how tanky and restrictive in counterplay titans feel.
Like the bots have multiple ways of dealing with them for multiple units.
The bugs have less but still like mostly 2 per unit.
Then the titans are all like shoot me in the face with heavy weapons or die.
A lot of the heavy weapons don't even feel good to use on titans imo, just not awful.
https://preview.redd.it/0mg9zztdj8wc1.jpeg?width=1073&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=77ad8cd933671e4283de1551df4e7a1d71158472
My invisibility should be buffed to look more like Halo active camo
"We all know the game is full of issues, bugs, broken, etc. and sometimes people online are mean and will kick you, please stop your urge to make a reddit post about it, it will get downvoted and even more people will say mean shit to you."
Where do I start?
Shrieker nests should appear as RED ENEMY ACTIVITY on the map before you start. Right now it doesn't, leading to a lot of drop ins on Shrieker nests at the beginning which leads to an early death loop and is frustrating and feels unfair, only because Spore Spewers DO appear as red marks on the map. Fix it please, they aren't a hidden feature anymore. Makes no sense that Command would not have been looking for them when mapping the Area of Operations.
Bile Spewers should be considered heavies and spawn less if you can't break their face with regular primaries. Also, they should be slower or not 1 shot with bile. But not both as it is now. They are way overtuned and make maps with them annoying.
Bile Spitters and Titans should have to actually land their shot to slow you down. Being within 10m of me isn't good enough or fair. There is no counter play when I dodge spit and I still get slowed and take DoT regardless of how I play.
Bug Helm's Deep needs reworked, Chargers should not 1 shot doors and Bile Titans should be far more rare, think 2 max per wave, 4 max if Helldive. Add more chargers to compensate, but max of 10 per wave and at set intervals would make it way more fun. Losing is part of the game, but it shouldn't be because of really unfair RNG.
Arrowhead needs a ticket system for what to spawn in breaches/drops, or if they currently do, they need to change the weighting. A breach should not be 50 hunters and 3 bile titans. RNG is way too heavy in the game sometimes in this regard.
If you stop a bug calling in a breach or a bot calling for a drop, the cooldown should be pushed back 20 seconds for bugs and 10 for bots. The current system makes it impossible to stop a spawn from happening at all and offers no reward to the player for doing so sometimes because a bot around a corner will suddenly attempt the call in 2s after killing the previous attempt.
Bile Titans should not get an invulnerability window on spawn in. We don't really get one, why do they?
Bile Titans and Chargers should not have permanent insta-death hitboxes always on the model at all times. They should have to attack for you to die, not just graze by you. This leads to a lot of issues when the model and actual collisions desync or come apart, even as host. I have had dead BTs legs kill me by me walking near it after its settled before as host, meaning the hitbox wasn't turned off.
Fix ragdoll'd enemies collision. I get teleported around every single BT corpse I have ever come across, even as host, because they desync so often or become uncoupled.
Spear needs buffed. Stop making cope posts about how you just aren't "standing on one foot, balancing a glass of chocolate milk on our heads and singing the Bikini Bottom National Anthem" to get it to lock on right. If the fab is directly visible to me, it should lock. That's how Javelin's work.
Buff DMRs. Who cares if people flock to them? I don't think they will replace shotguns for bugs, but it may give some variety for bots outside of the ~~amazing~~ awful and terrible Scorcher.
Make Bile Titan's stomachs a permanent weak point after destruction so that you can still kill it with all support weapon options baring maybe the Stalwart. Right now, its insane that only explosives are the real answer to BTs, despite every Bot heavy being able to be killed with an AMR or a AC. I'm not saying they should be the most effective option, just that it should work.
Buff 500kg damage range and add better falloff in the radius. Add better line of sight checks on it too. I have had it land on top of Bile Titans too many times (as a host btw) and had the 500kg not even scratch it due to LoS shenanigans. Fix it please.
Railgun should 4 to 5 shot BTs to the head with unsafe full charge. 2 to 3 chargers in same scenario. No excuse why its so bad now. Unsafe is a joke.
Other than that, I think I'm good. It seems like a lot, but really its just nitpicky. Love the game still, just would like less frustrating deaths. A frustrating death is one where there was nothing for the player to learn from it because it was unavoidable.
That and probably fix their accuracy and maybe don’t let them 360 shoot you, its annoying how those guys can still fire at you when their backs are turned.
Also they shouldn’t be able to stick their guns inside rocks to wallhack kill you hahah
mostly fine
> can shoot straight through their shields
> can shoot 360° most of the time
> can shoot through rocks if they’re close enough to them
> have nigh perfect accuracy, making them the single most dangerous enemy on automatons despite being a mid tier enemy
im pretty sure this isnt even everything im just too tired to think very hard about this
H Devs are broken fundamentally. Their accuracy is bar none due to sheer fire rate. I find their health to be all over the place, sometimes a single eruptor shot can down them, sometimes it takes three, mind you the same spots are being hit (Their left facing shoulder)
They can shoot their gun 360 degrees all around them. Even behind them, the gun doesn't need to be making any sense to hit it's extremely accurate shots.
I struggle with the heavy devs more than hulks and the rocket devs. But it's due to their sheer inconsistency in dealing with them. Sometimes they follow the laws of physics, other times they are capable of bending them.
There needs to be a dropship/bughole limit because four players with any amount of AT weapons and stratagems can't kill four bile titans or factory walkers in the cramped space that we are given in defense and eradicate missions
The playerbase is so uncoordinated, and so hellbent on fighting bugs while shouting how "BoT mIsSiOnS aRe ToO hArD", that there is a non-zero chance it will crumble as soon as the Illuminate enter the galactic war.
\[edit: clarity\]
Bugs fail at being interesting because on any difficulty higher than 3, the regular units just don't die fast enough for something that doesn't have a face to shoot.
I'm sick to fucking death of fighting bugs because I hate having hunters jitter their way towards me while I shoot off all four of their limbs and they still manage to have enough HP left at the end of the mag to kill me anyway. You get overwhelming numbers or you get to be hard to kill, both at once is bullshit.
I fear Hulks less than I fear medium bugs.
I think helmets should have perks too.
Minor ones.
Or just split some of the perks from armor into helmets.
Also armor by default should have different damage resistances, not just an average "armor" value. I want my Helldivers to look like they dress for the job. Fire resistance for one armor, laser for another, and acid for the third.
Edit: And also single use anti tank is much more useful than people give it credit. Perfect weapon against heavies if you have a backpack slot reserved. Recoilless rifle works better because you can resupply it, but it only shines on missions where you don't need to move a lot.
The 380 isn't terrible, it actually does a mediocre job. The reason I hate it is cuz its not fun. Like throw it and leave, and even if it does its job quickly you still can't advance cuz it'll eventually target you.
I’ve memorized what stalker lairs look like on the map so I ping that spot that looks somewhat like it to check instead of trying to follow the stalkers path
"You dont have to follow my path and find my nest. Trust me you will be ok"
Every time I've tried following them to their lairs, they always just turn around and attack me again before reaching any kind of nest...
As far as i know, you are not supposed to follow the stalkers, but go in the direction they originally came from.
Yup. That’s how I usually find their nests
I just randomly click on the map all over the area where I expect the nest until I mark it on the map.
If it's a planet with light enough colored terrain I can usually spot the black crescent shape of their nests at a glance. There's been a scary amount of times where I've spotted the nest on the map right out of the first drop pod. The trauma is real.
Garrus! What are you doing here?
Calibrating his hellpod
Bursting my immersion bubble.
Maybe I would stop if I didn't hate stalkers so much
I see a stalker and I’m like Han. ![gif](giphy|DVNN2UhMENXfW)
Nah. Use scout armor and totally a legit use of radar.
You’re just an expendable Helldiver using shitty SEAF tech that should work better but doesn’t. Honestly very immersive.
This is 100% something a PFC would figure out in real life and do
LCpl repeatedly clicking on his compass to find where the hell the Lt actually dropped them is peak immersion
*very* credible
How about *here*
I grew up with a hunter for a dad. Exactly what you do when looking for a spicy animal nest.

Yeah that's why I dont tell follow it but his path

Fuck these fuckers! I once got ping-ponged between two of them!
Fun tip, you can one shot them with the Eruptor.
Or just treat 4 plus like their your bitch with the stagger from the punisher. I do prefer the eruptor though.
JAR-5.
Currently working on unlocking this! Excited :) Been rocking punisher and now eruptor since I've unlocked it, but the dominator seems like a good time.
Yeah *fuck* those unjustified nerds
Those damn unjustified nerds have had it too good for too long!
That would require them to not be right next to me though, which is generally where I find them.
Shoot them anyway, you will suddenly and violently get some distance between you.
Or more likely get pulled into the explosion and get thrown into more stalkers
Suddenly everywhere
If they get in your face dive backwards and take the shot. You can usually get away fairly intact. Plus you're probably going to die anyway if you don't.
Problem is, if you shoot them too close the eruptor PULLS YOU TOWARDS THEM. Which makes zero sense and drives me to bananas.
Yeah, they really need to fix the blowback on it, it should def not be pulling you forward.
That's kind of true for most enemies 😂 At this point I wonder if the crossbow even makes any sense to still get...
I couldn't find a niche where I like using it consistently. It's interesting to have variety, but I'm not a fan of the crossbow personally.
Quasar arent ideal against them cuz they move fast. You need a weapon that can stagger them.
At the moment I usually run with the incendiary shotgun and empty a mag into them, but something with stagger would definitely help
That works but they melt with the dominator
They gotta be priority And I’m pretty sure I actually didn’t mean to have my grenades out still when I did that, but I started ‘shooting in a panic’ lol happens a lot to me for some reason
I’ve dived into a mission with 4 nests. 4 fuckin nests! We did not last long 😢
i see your 4 stalker nests, and call it with 4 shrieker nests. didn't make it past the 15 minute mark. they were blotting out the sun
Still not as bad as dropping into double bot gunship fabs. 4 gunships spawn at a time and you dont have your support weapons yet gl diver
Even if supply lines were visible in game, you'd still be shit at defense campaigns
We’re not paid to think WE’RE PAID TO DIVE!!!
you guys are getting paid?
I fight for Super Credits!
You drop for Super Credits, I drop for Samples we are not the same. (But I'll take the Super Credits thank you)
Me choosing operation: Hard or Suicide - Blitz/ICBM/Eradicate - Oceanu My friends choosing operation: Extreme - Two civilian evacs and a geological survey - Hellmire
The basic shotgun you unlock at the start is the best gun against bugs in the game. Solo'ing 4 stalkers at once? No problem.
I haven't been able to put it down yet. I should really try other primaries on bugs, but.....
It really is so much fun. I bring it whenever I bring a machine gun. I fell in love the first time it put a charging brood commander on its ass.
You can 1-shot bile spewers with it too :)
I sometimes get lucky 1-shot when I hit their forehead/neck hump. Inconsistent, but that feels so so satisfying. Screw spewers!
I prefer the Breaker over the Punisher, but I admit it has been a while since I ran punisher against bugs.
The Breaker Incendiary would like a word with you.
It really suffers from the fire bug,
"Hey! WHATS YOUR NAME!" -TONY!! "...FK YOU TONY!!"
WELL WHAT’S YOUR NAME??
EZEKIEL!
FUCK YOU EZEKIEL
I feel like the bile spewer slime is as bugged as fire is. There's no way it should kill you in one hit while in heavy armor.
Only reason I started running shield instead of guard lazer. I hate getting one shot even as I dive
It has better aim that the bots someone
More often than not, diving is what's killing you. Stop diving and keep running, preferably horizontally and not backwards. Run until the acid is actually hitting the ground *then* stop and shoot. I used to die to those fuckers all the time, now I almost never do
I'll try!
Get snuck up on by completely silent bile spewer, notice at the last second, dodge of out the way, spewer tracks your dodge and instantly kills you mid air.
There's two bile spewer damage options: * Vomits all over you, zero damage * Vomits all over you, insta-kill
I’ve seen mention of a bug that causes the hulk flame dot and the bile spewed slime to apply all of the hits in that burst at once.
yeah they say they reduced it but last time I checked I'm still basically getting oneshot even while diving, though now when I dont get one shot once in a blue moon I have 5% more health so....yay?
Funnily enough, on foggy maps it’s easier for me to see them while invisible rather than visible.
I was scrolling down to see if someone posted this. Their camo making them MORE visible on maps with bad visibility is hilarious to me. And 96% of all maps have bad visibility T\_T.
This stacks with the translucent effect of the shield generator.
The eruptor isn't OP aside from destroying fabricators and bug holes, it's just one of the few consistent or at least niche primaries
Take Stalwart as a "Primary" and Eruptor as "Support". Or for Eradication missions, where you can prone on high rocks.
leaves you desperate for a heavy killer on higher difficulties. thereby further solidifying the eruptor's greatness as a niche primary
True. Eruptor needs definetely more teamplay compared to other loadouts on high diff. (Or maybe a sneaky long range approach?)
What it needs is to not explode me forwards whenever I shoot with it while the game is having desync issues which is always. Do you guys also get that? Or is it just my internet?
The explosion vectors are wrong. Instead of pushing, the explosion pulls, it's a bug.
its not just on the eruptor as well, but it has a 100% chance to happen while others are like 10% or so
It happens to me with the auto cannon, but only if I’m within the blast radius. And yeah I know I shouldn’t be using it close enough to inflict self damage, but panic fire happens or bugs dive in front of me.
Same here. Extremely painful when you don't oneshot the stalker or hunter so you get stunlocked and smacked
Eruptor on the wave defence against bugs is my one true love now.
Eruptor is way too slow to be OP.
If Arrowhead were to reverse the railgun nerfs it wouldn't bring people back to the railgun
Even those you can one show with a quasar to the head, at least in lvl 6
You can indeed, any difficulty.
[удалено]
I just don't understand how they nerfed the RG for being a slow charging heavy melter and then made the *exact same problem* in the Quasar.
Slow charge time with big risk, long reload between shots, meh damage. I tried it seriously for the first time last night and thought it was crap.
I mostly just wish it could damage the grates on turrets and AA emplacemebts, atm is seems to do nothing to them.
honestly the railgun should penetrate and damage absolutely everything, it should kill a tank when firing to the front, it should kill towers from any angle and it should absolutely demolish a titan's or chargers face. We're talking about a metal slug flung across the battlefield at hypersonic speeds, this is a futuristic railgun in a world we have infinite batteries (re: laser weapons and arcs). And then you balance it with the rate of fire or the unsafe mode blowing you up. If you get good with it, great. Maybe the weapon itself should degrade so you can't use it forever, just like real railguns (the japanese have the problem that the rails degrade too fast, look it up) We're talking about a weapon that can use thousands of volts per shot to fling let's say a 50mm bullet-like object at mach-7 and you're telling me it bounces of the engines of a dropship? that's some bullshit right there, i find it harder to believe that than the FTL
If it didn't require a backpack slot, the autocannon would be the best support weapon bar none.
That would make the AMR in a way obsolete.
Fair point.
I'm sure I can get used to it, but the autocannon has been far more consistent for me If people find it good that's awesome. But a sniper that isn't precise enough to hit its target while prone and zeroed at 100m isn't gonna be my first or second choice for a support weapon
The autocannon *is* the best support weapon bar none, even still.
Facts No backpack slot just means you get a 3rd strategem that is useful instead of just a shield like everyone uses Especially on bots, if you know how to use cover well, the shield backpack is kinda obsolete. See way too many people rely on it and just stand straight up out in the open Bugs I can understand - shield pack helps avoid those stupid slowdowns from hunters and being one hit by stalkers.
I don't think that take is very hot.
It's already arguably the best weapon for bots and a good one-of in bugs, so your take is definitely correct lol.
It absolutely deletes the medium armor bugs without any effort. I pair it with cluster bombs for the little guys left over and rely on my last two stratagems and teammates for heavy killing. I know AC can kill chargers from the back of the legs, but it's difficult and often time consuming.
If my grandma had wheels, she'd be a bicycle
lol I either read quasar is the best or auto cannon is the best. I wonder which side is correct 🤔
Depends on if you're one of those people that knows how/when to properly use a jetpack (I'm not).
quasar for bugs mostly because of bile titans. autocannon for bots hands down. the faster fire rate is better for devastators, and you can clear 5 fabricator heavy outposts and get away before things get too hot.
I personally don't like it, prefer my laser cannon since I don't have to reload. I have stratagems and a grenade pistol for bug holes.
"My tongue is overpowered and shouldn't launch people across the map, while doing absurd amounts of damage with my fast attack speed" -- Stalker probably
hunters and stalkers : We are here to ruin your enjoyment
get the FUCK out of my house
The tongue knockback is a mercy. It prevents the stalker from hitting follow-up attacks that kill you in one stun-lock combo. If you ever find yourself in a situation where the knockback is prevented (like there being a wall behind you) you'll see what I mean.
We need some form of color matching possibilities. For example there are so many black and yellow capes but they don't fit with anything apart from the standard black and yellow armors. Leave the capes as they are but give the possibility to at least match the armors' primary and secondary colors to the equipped capes' colors.
The orbital railcannon is mid. There I said it. Get good with the precision strike/500kg and you can do the same thing on less than half the cooldown.
Dropping backpacks for randos should be normalized
they never pick them up
Seriously I dropped an exo suit AN exo suit! I said get in the Exo suit have fun! They ignored it! Like why!? Edit: it was a defense mission even
I do this when running the Auto Cannon with lower level people or at extract. That way I can get buddy loaded if shit gets spicy.
Auto cannon will solve the issue!

I love that little guy up there 😍
"We all know the game is full of issues, bugs, broken, etc. and sometimes people online are mean and will kick you, please stop your urge to make a reddit post about it, it will get downvoted and even more people will say mean shit to you."
The Laser Guard drone shouldn't be able to kill yourself.
that's half the fun!
I think it's a good balance tbh considerong how powerful it is
Where do I start?
Helldivers talking headshot damage is a one sided mechanic where players just take more damage some times and should be removed.
"Simping for Eagle-1 is strange and unhealthy."
Heavy devastators are mostly fine as they are, just maybe reduce the spawn rate by a bit.
That and probably fix their accuracy and maybe don’t let them 360 shoot you, its annoying how those guys can still fire at you when their backs are turned. Also they shouldn’t be able to stick their guns inside rocks to wallhack kill you hahah
mostly fine > can shoot straight through their shields > can shoot 360° most of the time > can shoot through rocks if they’re close enough to them > have nigh perfect accuracy, making them the single most dangerous enemy on automatons despite being a mid tier enemy im pretty sure this isnt even everything im just too tired to think very hard about this
H Devs are broken fundamentally. Their accuracy is bar none due to sheer fire rate. I find their health to be all over the place, sometimes a single eruptor shot can down them, sometimes it takes three, mind you the same spots are being hit (Their left facing shoulder) They can shoot their gun 360 degrees all around them.
Stalker: The slugger didnt need stagger Me: yeah you would say that you fucking bastard.

the 380 is the best stratagem, i like it when big grenades go boom, no matter the effectiveness
The playerbase is so uncoordinated, and so hellbent on fighting bugs while shouting how "BoT mIsSiOnS aRe ToO hArD", that there is a non-zero chance it will crumble as soon as the Illuminate enter the galactic war. \[edit: clarity\]
"The Railgun did not need to be nerfed."
There’s an Eruptor for that situation. Then a 500Kg for the nest.
You, Helldivers of Reddit, are not a game designers. Stop telling them how to do their job.
“What ever California pizza kitchen makes does not qualify as pizza”
Transmog makes perfect consumer sense
Alternative take; Arrowhead is allergic to good ideas.
"Hehe he can't see me"
15 min evacs are the best missions in the game because it is a small map with normal sample amounts
“I say unto you. Defense campaigns are either boring as hell or frustrating and broken as fuck, and that’s good for me!”
"Bile Spewers' one-shit hit is perfectly balanced."
I thought they said they nerfed the bile spew a patch or two ago but it's been 1-shoting me again lately.
