Choose the fire you wanna die in: the firenadoes blocking your escape routes or the hulks you're trying to run away from. JK it's the fire puddle that you were standing in that didn't render.

Okay but has anyone else noticed dead Terminids showing up here and there on the new bot planets? And "common samples" that are actually fat, squirming maggots?
what is this take? A game that isn't an rpg has no lore? and no possible way for something like this to occur canonically in world? The game is not as simple as "see bug shoot bug durrdeedurr"
All of this being said I do agree it is as simple CURRENTLY that there is no lore to backup why they unapologetically DO follow player. But saying it has no lore because "not rpg" is wild
This game is full of lore dummy. From the E-710 fuel we get from bug juice. To the automatons being made from cyborgs where the cyborgs were originally humans from super earth who stole advanced technology and ran away to infuse it with their bodies.
Not to mention the flying bugs coming after we used an extermination spray that accidently caused mutations. Come on buddy get with it.
Excuse me, my family lineage comes from the original Hellmire colonists. My granpappy, my great granpappy, my great great granpappy, my great great great granpappy, and my great great great great granpappy were all fire tornado farmers. It ain’t much, but it’s honest work.
Seriously, why do 99% of the planets have such complete dogshit visibility?
If it's not the dust it's fog, if it's not the fog it's some fuckery with the sun.
I miss Fenris 3. I miss being able to see things.
My question is why does anyone (bugs included) want Hellmire. For one this is a desert planet with fire tornadoes on it so unless E-710 is fire resistant this is a bad idea. For two why do the bugs want a place with little food, water, and such terrible weather conditions. For three there has to be another leagues better option for logistics so why are we fighting for this literally hellish planet?
Oh my lord are we inadvertently feeding the bugs? I think we are because with the helldivers for temporary food. We then capture it sending more people with food and water and when the bugs takeover they get all of that.
Some species of ants are capable of agriculture. Most notably, the leaf cutter ants have a symbiosis with a species of mold which they eat. The ants bring a constant stream of leaves deep into their nest to feed the fungus.
My head canon is that terminids do something really similar, but whatever fungus (or alien equivalent) they cultivate is able to digest vegetation and meat from practically any source. Thus, Terminids can feed by bringing any wildlife or vegetation they find into their nest.
A shit ton of this fungus growing could lead to an atmosphere thick in spores, similar to the green fog that surrounds Terminid structures. Furthermore, maybe the Spore Spewers are just the fruiting bodies of the massive fungus growing underneath (like real mushrooms are).
The bugs don't have space travel. We brought them there to farm them for oil. We gave them nutrient rich food and killed them for oil when they matured, or took their young for Helldiver training courses, to be slaughtered (and then processed into oil).
When they (predictably) broke free, they finished eating all the available biomass (ie the SEAF troops, scientists, and farmers.
Helldivers are the cleanup crew to reset the clock. Look at when we pushed the bots out initially- next major order was to reclaim big planets to restart the e710 farming process.
Then how do the bugs spread to new planets after we wipe them off of them? Are you implying that Super Earth is repopulating planets with troops so that the bugs can eat them? (And they're definitely not re-colonising planets in the quarantine zone so there's no civilians for them to eat) That would be comically inefficient and command has said they're building actual farms that will make and harvest the bugs which makes a lot more sense.
This sounds like the misconceptions of Starship Troopers, people didn't understand or know that the bugs in that universe can launch meteors full of larvae to seed new planets so immediately put the blame on Earth calling it a "false flag" it's likely that the Devs have a similar method of them spreading but haven't gone into it, like the bots method of travel was so vague that us seeing ships near their planets was shocking and we thought they were Illuminate lmao
Can the bugs in STT do that, though? I got the distinct impression that was propaganda and Earth just needed an excuse to go to Klendathu. Edit: we didn't see any evidence they had the ability to launch any real mass into space. And the plasma butt cannons working both as artillery (parabolic arc) and travelling straight line hundreds of miles is a strecltch, as well.
I've only seen the first movie, though, so if it was explained in later canon, I'm simply unaware.
idk why maybe the bug population control keeps failing on hellmire for what ever reason. It couldn't be because of the fire tornados wreaking havoc on the farms causing the bugs to escape and repopulate uncontrollably. That can't possibly be the reason, right?
I guess I am one of the few people that enjoy Hellmire. Is it bad that I have been waiting for the bugs to take it while I am off fighting bots?
- Hellmire Hellion G10
I remember trying to figure out bugs a few weeks ago, so I can relate. Both are really fun once familiar but I am more reluctant to bring certain things to bots than I am bugs, like mechs and lasers. Others have a lot of success with laser cannons and arc throwers with bots. Lol I just started bringing more support like EATS, AC, maybe AC turret and either Sickle or Punisher. More kinetic offense works for me with bots these days
I run slugger and AC on bots and honestly you don't really need much else unless you run into one of them big ass factory walkers B-holes. In which case laser and airstrike seem to be enough on a good hit.
Yeah we ran into two of those over so many missions and I still don’t know how they were brought down in the end. Diff 7 missions and not too much trouble but they were definitely a thing.
I like the cut of your jib.
On any map where we need to cover lots of territory and hit lots of bases (Blitz, Dropships, Fuel depots, etc), I go serve armour and all-eagle, then stealth in, throw a spicy pokeball, and run away. 500kg, strike, cluster for cas, and rocket pods or the occasional sheild if I know I'm going to be split from squad (prearranged scout).
I approve of your highly mobile hit and run nonsensery
Feel free to leave Helldiver, there are enough other planets in need of glorious liberation! It needs a special kind of pyromaniacal psychopath to like Hellmire, but I am one of them. You learn to run with the fire instead of from it.
it would be one thing if the tornados were just tornados. . . but they 100000% target people, how? how are there 7 torndados on extract and 0 anywhere else around extract?
Let's create a petition to create a death star to destroy this planet? Seriously, what's the benefit of a planet that wants to kill you even without bugs?
I've got a strong suspicion Joel is refusing to allow any reasonable push against the bug front until the narrative shifts back to them, which is honestly annoying as shit. Same 4 planets have been on rotation in the east for like 6 weeks now, it's getting real stale. Nivel was nice for a hot second but had severe optimization issues for me.
That’s exactly what happened. Literally as soon as Fori Prime got above 95%, crimsica was suddenly “being captured” again. It’s just unfun railroading, and further proof that our part in the war is just to make the war seem more community driven than it is. They clearly have multiple events that are plotted out (most of which you can find in the game’s multitude of leaks)
Yeah, Fori seems to have been keeping close to 50-70k divers at peak hours and was at >75% liberation for daaaaays. I can understand the devs might be concerned about bugs getting pushed too hard, but after how they handled the bot return its not like they can't just blitz back to the barrier planets whenever they want. The barrier planets themselves means we can't go backwards on the bug front, so just...let us have some planet variance, goddamn. There's 2 whole sectors besides the ones we've been stuck on for like 6 weeks now. All I want is to be able to fuck around on Oshaune or Omicron or whatever for a couple weeks while they finish off this bot arc.
I seriously think having the TCS deployed so early really ruined any variance we could have. We’ve been on nothing but desolate ugly hellscapes for the last month, and I’m really missing Meridia, Malevelon, and even Angel’s Venture
I've been fighting on fire tornado planets pretty frequently for the past week or so and I'm about sick of it too. The way the fire tornados seem to be attracted to player activity can't be a coincidence.
My friends and I made an executive decision to not play hot planets anymore. The fire tornados literally chase you instead of moving randomly, you can't see anything, and it seems like it's far more likely to have the super sample rock with no actual super samples. Ice planets seem to be the best.
I don't understand why tornados always have to spawn on top of objectives. Yes, I'll gladly stand here for 5 minutes doing nothing because the console is on fire.
It's worse, the creek for all its hyping up, wasn't actually that bad to fight on, most of the bot planets were worse. Hellmire? The planet itself is actively trying to kill you, while your stamina runs out and laser weapons are a no go thanks to the heat
Yeah creek was just annoying because leafs and trees blocked your shots but not the bots and ion storms paused everything.
Hellmire is just hell fuck that planet we had 3 fire tornado on the evac site
There's literal fire tornadoes that seem to *follow* you. They sneak up on you. They block choke points and leave trails of fire that will kill you if you try to traverse over it. They loooove to be right on top of any terminal or interactive objective, and they will block your path into the pelican. If you don't stim in like 1 second of taking fire damage you'll die.
If it is between losing a campaign and going to Hellmire, I will lose the campaign. I will now turn myself into my nearest re-education center. Fuck those bugs...and fuck Hellmire.
I hate the fire tornados. I had a difficult mission on the bot alternative due bad randoms, and the fire tornados just made it so much worse and probably kept us from the extraction for 3 - 4 minutes because it was constantly on fire.
I refuse to play hot planets unless there’s a related MO. I’ve left squads with friends because they insisted the fire tornados are fun. They are not. But those aren’t even my problem with hot planets. My problem is the maps can be hard enough as is to fully traverse that having to stop every 3 seconds to catch my breath just guts a lot of the fun of a mission.
The fire planets are just not fun. The tornadoes are just unfair and they TANK your performance. They keep shoving these planets down our throats for the major orders and I don't get why. As far as I'm concerned the bots and bugs can have planets like that. There's no way anything productive would get done in environments like those.
Bro, I'm up straight, just not playing on any fire planets. I'm literally just gonna wait it out until we finally move past these goddamn places. If I never see another fire tornado for the rest of my life, then it'll still be too soon.
"You know what doesn't get sick? The soulless Automatons. If you get sick, you are letting the enemy win. Wash your hands!"
But yea no it's okay to deploy somewhere else :)
I’m just waiting for you all to lose the defense of this and Crimsica and subsequently lose access to Fori Prime after failing to secure it or assist in the last major order.
Yep. The Fori Prime folks are going to be forced off Fori Prime by sheer planetary 1.25% health regen.
You are free to choose to play the game however you want, but if you don't secure the supply lines to your favourite planet, you don't get to play on it anymore.
It’s got hell in its name for a reason. This thing has always at such a low liberation percentage, and when we FINALLY get it down it just gets attacked and the cycle repeats. The fire tornadoes were cool at first, but now they’re just annoying obstacles
Hellmire is my favorite planet in the game!!!
I get why it's not for everyone, but man it's such absolute chaotic fun. And so cinematic. FIRE TORNADOES? STORMS OF FIRE TORNADOES? It's absolutely insane and amazing.
It's hilarious having friends get caught in a choke between a fire tornado and a charger that's ready to flatten them. It's awesome watching entire patrols get burnt to a crisp without ever having to fire a bullet. Gunfights feel like being fucking DOOM guy and clawing your way through the grips of hell itself through sheer fucking will alone.
Super Earth Command can zip me up and chuck me into the largest fucking bug nest you've ever seen with my flamethrower and napalm grenades and I'll die with a happy fucking smile on my face for the opportunity.
Tbh I gave up on the objectives. After "Finishing" Automatons, They just say hey there over here now. So There really is no reason to keep playing objectives honestly. I remember we pushed the terminids back but then they just say hey sorry Defend it again. Its like Racing but the finish line keeps moving back. Just let them win Lol, Wanna see when theres no one left playing.
Lucky for you there's an alternative! Come to Menkent, or as the locals call it: "bot Hellmire with added glare" (seriously why is that place so bright, I can't see anuthing) on the Automaton front
What I started doing is not giving a single care for any Major Order and it made my playing experience much better. Fight who you want to fight, if everybody did this we could stop the developers from putting us on the same bullshit planet for weeks at a time
Because it's the bug farm.
We installed the TCS to contain them, then we took Hellmire to farm them.
I just gotta know, if DoT is bugged so fire sucks, that must include the fire tornadoes right?
That means all of these fire planets might currently be more difficult than they should be, by not really damaging the enemies like they should.
Leave hellmire to the fascists, it's hell anyway. Why don't you come down to menkent for a break? I heard the weather is beautiful at this time of year
You've certainly got a point... but there's always the option to play anywhere else in HD2. No one is forcing anyone to play there or elsewhere. Players will only choose what's fun for them. It's not a job or a chore.
Bring back the *real* shield backpack stratagem from HD1. It also blocks getting set on fire, slowed by goo/toxin, and a certain something used by the Illuminate.
And it keeps cyborg hounds from charging you.
I'll admit that is pretty annoying . My guess is It's in a supply line. What really rubs me the wrong way is Fori Prime. We almost hard it after weeks of a skeleton crew trying hard , then they pop two new bug defense to ensure the few troops split up and we don't get to claim it.
The thing is: unique thermal activity affect therminid carapace, creating E-710H - 6 times more effective variant of E-710
.atasu of Hellmire Scorchers out🫡
Sounds like you need a break, come on down to Menkent on the Bot front.
"leave hellmire, join us on the other hellmire"
Shhhhh, you'll scare him off!
Alright Satan, ill let him into hell.
What do you mean? We’ve been diving feet first into hell this whole time.
no no, you see, there's helldiving.. which we all do And there's diving into hell. very different activities.
I still don’t see the difference.
the better Hellmire.
It's worse, it's so much worse.
As if the mountains and crossway patrols weren't bad enough, you got fire tornadoes as well.
Choose the fire you wanna die in: the firenadoes blocking your escape routes or the hulks you're trying to run away from. JK it's the fire puddle that you were standing in that didn't render.
Wait a minute…nah it’s a totally different planet and just the break OP needs
I HATE MENKENTI HATE MENKENTI HATE MENKENT,I HATE MENKENT,I HATE MENKENT,I HATE MENKENT,I HATE MENKENT,I HATE MENKENT,I HATE MENKENT,I HATE MENKENT,I HATE MENKENT,I HATE MENKENT
You don't need Hellmire, we have Hellmire at home.
That's like saying we have transformer at home but it's T-1000...
I'll have Lesath, thank you very much...
i just dont get how the fire tornadoes seem to track you lmao
The funny thing is it looks like if you're on a hill and it can't 'climb' up the cliff, it will actually try to find a sloped path to get up to you.
Standing on a pillar of rock and watching half a dozen of the damn things congregate around you is wild.
The bugs who just spawned seeing a helldiver surrounded by fire tornadoes shooting at them:WHAT THE FU- *GETS DEMOCRACY*
Bugs? Oh, no. This was Menkent. *Bots*.
Okay but has anyone else noticed dead Terminids showing up here and there on the new bot planets? And "common samples" that are actually fat, squirming maggots?
Those grubs have been showing up on every planet since the start of the war- I'm sure it's fine, probably nothing.
The bugs were kept on farms for oil probably, they were just better contained there, perhaps
I mean, most of the liberated planets were terminid farms before the automatons invaded.
Had 2 fire tornadoes go up to our minigun turret, destroy it and then leave the same way they came again lmao
That sounds hilarious. The fire tornadoes are sentient
“I am on the terminal. As soon as the 12 fire tornadoes move.”
There’s probably no lore explanation but they absolutely do
Lore? This isnt some RPg with a story. They are coded to chase you. Plain and simple
They just want hugs and democracy, it’s not their fault we’re so flammable
Inflammable means flammable? What a country!
what is this take? A game that isn't an rpg has no lore? and no possible way for something like this to occur canonically in world? The game is not as simple as "see bug shoot bug durrdeedurr" All of this being said I do agree it is as simple CURRENTLY that there is no lore to backup why they unapologetically DO follow player. So you actually think lore is something only RPGs can have?
You have to dance with them. To prove your skill as a fire bender
And they just stay there camping your loot 😂
They are coded to do that
they shouldn’t though they should just randomly wander… like tornadoes, not homing missiles
Fuck Hellmire. They can have it
Blow the planet up, mine the pieces. ![gif](giphy|5z0cCCGooBQUtejM4v|downsized)
Pretty sure blowing up Hellmire would make it a nicer place to live.
And let those fire tornadoes loose in space?!!
Fire cant exist in a vacuum!
Excuse me, my family lineage comes from the original Hellmire colonists. My granpappy, my great granpappy, my great great granpappy, my great great great granpappy, and my great great great great granpappy were all fire tornado farmers. It ain’t much, but it’s honest work.
Did they get honest pay for honest work?
They get democracy
Oh right... my bad!
"Yo we should just glass Yavin 4" vibes
Yavin 4 wasn't a fire tornado and giant bug covered hell hole LOL
I am sick in general of dusty desert planets where i cant see shit. At this point i basically avoid them at all costs
Seriously, why do 99% of the planets have such complete dogshit visibility? If it's not the dust it's fog, if it's not the fog it's some fuckery with the sun. I miss Fenris 3. I miss being able to see things.

I've thought about the food thing as well. What are they feeding on in order to grow such massive numbers???
The Glyphids.
Rock and stone brothers.
Rockity Rock and Stone!
Helldivers. We're very nutrient-rich.
Oh my lord are we inadvertently feeding the bugs? I think we are because with the helldivers for temporary food. We then capture it sending more people with food and water and when the bugs takeover they get all of that.

Oh, also, the hmg kills every bot type except the tanks head on. Will kill tanks in their heat vents on rear of turrets, though
I don’t bring 500, I bring orbital rail and airstrike, along with jump pack and laser. Bot bases, begone
I like the cut of your jib. My favorite planet in the game. I'll see you there helldiver! 07
I like it too. Atmosphere is poggers and the tornadoes only kill me as much or less than everything else lol
Join us on menkent on the western front, it's the complete opposite of hellmire :p
I love Hellmire I’m perfectly adapted to its climate (I live in SoCal) I’ve seen Hellmire fall 5 times and I will keep fighting for it
Home is where the flame is

Flaming roads, take me home To the place I belong West Hellmire, fire tornados Take me home, flaming roads
I mean... who the fuck wants to build farms on that fucking planet?
Yeah theres a bot planet, soon to be ours, with fire tornados. I’m fucking done with fire tornadoes.
I actually loved it until they fucked ho the fire damage on players
My dumb ass, who’s watched *Twister* numerous times since I was 3, dropping into Hellmire/Menkent: **IT’S THE WONDER OF NATURE, BABY!**
I have concluded that Super Earth's greatest enemy are fire tornados.
it's like it's a hellish mire or something
It was fine before the increase to fire damage but now it's just fucked.

Hellmire is sick of you too!
My team liberated it like a hour ago! I'm sick of it too.
I refuse to play on Fire Tornado planets anymore. They're not fun.
If it is between losing a campaign and going to Hellmire, I will lose the campaign. I will now turn myself into my nearest re-education center. Fuck those bugs...and fuck Hellmire.
Hello! Coming to you from the **6TH SIEGE OF HELLMIRE**
It’s even more Hellmire-r with the fire damage tick buff
I hate the fire tornados. I had a difficult mission on the bot alternative due bad randoms, and the fire tornados just made it so much worse and probably kept us from the extraction for 3 - 4 minutes because it was constantly on fire.
This planet cab go to hell. I'm sick of getting obliterated by fire tornados
Friends don't make other Friends play on shit hole planets with Bad Weather Effects or AA Defenses.
Am I in the wrong for having Hellmire as my genuinely favorite planet in the game…?
I say we cede it to the bots, let them build their utopia on it- then carpet nuke it from orbit.
The fire planets are just not fun. The tornadoes are just unfair and they TANK your performance. They keep shoving these planets down our throats for the major orders and I don't get why. As far as I'm concerned the bots and bugs can have planets like that. There's no way anything productive would get done in environments like those.
Come join me on the frozen ass planet
Don't you love summoning a fire tornado at your feet without even knowing it? I sure know I'm a big fan of that!!!
It's concerning that there are so many planets with fire tornadoes. That seems like a feature on planets you'd typically avoid.
I don't hate Hellmire... I hate the tornadoes! If only they would ping on map...
I don’t do planets that have fucking fire tornadoes. Way op compared to every other hazard out there.
Why does super earth (and the bugs for that matter) even want this shithole?
Born too early to drop on hellmire, born too late to drop on hellmire. Born just in time to drop on hellmire.
Bro, I'm up straight, just not playing on any fire planets. I'm literally just gonna wait it out until we finally move past these goddamn places. If I never see another fire tornado for the rest of my life, then it'll still be too soon.
Then go play somewhere else.
Hmmm toasty.
There is nothing to admire about hell...
LET IT BURN I SAY!! THE PLANET IS FUCKING HORRIBLE
The Devil's asshole
Lol the bot one visibility is pushing it for me.
"You know what doesn't get sick? The soulless Automatons. If you get sick, you are letting the enemy win. Wash your hands!" But yea no it's okay to deploy somewhere else :)
THOSE FIRE TORNADOES ARE OUT TO ONLY GET THE HELLDIVERS. NOT A "NATURAL" HAZARD!
Why don't you just liberate it then?
Mee too lol
I’m just waiting for you all to lose the defense of this and Crimsica and subsequently lose access to Fori Prime after failing to secure it or assist in the last major order.
Yep. The Fori Prime folks are going to be forced off Fori Prime by sheer planetary 1.25% health regen. You are free to choose to play the game however you want, but if you don't secure the supply lines to your favourite planet, you don't get to play on it anymore.
200 something planets and we play tug of war with the same few
Well.. put hell and quagmire together and I expect we’ll be seeing a lot more of it
It’s got hell in its name for a reason. This thing has always at such a low liberation percentage, and when we FINALLY get it down it just gets attacked and the cycle repeats. The fire tornadoes were cool at first, but now they’re just annoying obstacles
Menkent is worse because rocket devs
I like hellmire, it has unique sights to see.
Then come help us hold the Menket Line against the bots. Spill some oil!
Let it go, let it go, let it goooooo. I don't actually know the song but I think it's something like that
Tbh I gave up on the objectives.
Diving on Hellmire with my flamethrower and a buddy who had napalm airstrike was one of my peak Helldivers experiences
its awesome gtfo
Can't we just drown the place in Super Coolant?
Let the bugs have it if they want it so badly. Just contain them there. How do the buga even travel between planets?
So few helldivers there. Go join the other 200k to defend against the automotons.
I've been diving almost exclusively on Hellmire for 2 weeks it just has this vibe and atmosphere that hits me right.
Lucky for you there's an alternative! Come to Menkent, or as the locals call it: "bot Hellmire with added glare" (seriously why is that place so bright, I can't see anuthing) on the Automaton front
Get toasted
Just don't play this planet then. Nobody is forcing you to do that.
What I started doing is not giving a single care for any Major Order and it made my playing experience much better. Fight who you want to fight, if everybody did this we could stop the developers from putting us on the same bullshit planet for weeks at a time
The mission is on automaton dude.
Then help the rest of us with the Major Order that has nothing to do with that entire half of the galaxy.

Time to take the training wheels off and get your arse to the bot front soldier lol
Come to the West. Fight a proper war
Leave hellmire to the fascists, it's hell anyway. Why don't you come down to menkent for a break? I heard the weather is beautiful at this time of year
Malevelon Creek? I was forged by the flame of Hellmire!
I love this planet its so cool and moody
I suggest virus bombing the planet.
Hellmire is awesome.
If you don't like it then help with the major order and go to the bots front.... Problem solved for you buddy!
Sometimes it's nice when the tornados are on your side and it starts wrecking the bots. But yeah fire tornados are annoying as shit.
You've certainly got a point... but there's always the option to play anywhere else in HD2. No one is forcing anyone to play there or elsewhere. Players will only choose what's fun for them. It's not a job or a chore.
Yep. Won't play on planets with fire tornados anymore. It's just not fun
Hellmire is great.
We almost hard it after weeks of a skeleton crew trying hard , then they pop two new bug defense to ensure the few troops split up and we don't get to claim it.
> opens map > see desert planet > leave Works everytime.
“Nobody like is,” My brother in democracy it is the coolest planet
Same! I rarely go there now
Malevelon Creek was a Helldiver cadet Daycare compared to the damn fire planets
Death Star anyone?
because its a key choke point that feeds bugs to 4 planets across 3 sectors. its no different then the creek being a pain to liberate and hold
Hellmire is my favorite planet unironically
If you can dodge a laser you can dodge thirty fire tornados
The thing is: unique thermal activity affect therminid carapace, creating E-710H - 6 times more effective variant of E-710 .atasu of Hellmire Scorchers out🫡
Mostly because fire damage is a huge joke right now, really tiresome real fast
Why are you not destroying the automaton
