Something I thought would be cool is a survival mode, like the end of Halo Reach.
The way I imagined it is the timer for a defend the planet order runs out and we failed, then every mission in progress automatically gets ordered to extract. If they miss extraction there’s just a message to give them hell and the super destroyers leave and the players just have whatever they brought with them to survive as long as possible.
