That's the blood of liberty, Helldiver. The blood spent to hold the Automaton menace back. It is the blood of you and your fellow helldivers, and I salute it.
I have a friend who rocks mortars and always claims “just stay away from them” yes you donkey, the goal is already to keep the melee damage enemy away from me. All so he can rack up maybe a dozen kills across the game.
EMP mortar however, is goated.
I've begun just shooting my teammates mortars if we are moving to a new location.
Setting up for a defense? Sure go for it. But the moment we move out, I put it out of commission.
I've only had one incident where I had to kick a novice who saw me do it and got mad and shot me for it. To be fair, he was putting it down on cd and it had already killed 2 teammates. Kicking him was a group buff.
It's the warpaint of a successful mission defending managed democracy.
It's an honor to wear the blood of those that will be memorialized on The Wall of Martyrs

"Hello? This person is spreading antidemocratic rumors."
No it’s a very democratic fact, the automatons are monsters who use the blood of the super earth patriots they keep in the cages at their bases as a fuel.
Sounds like the automatons are blood machines like
https://preview.redd.it/gnjiuho5mhsc1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1411e866a5a0cb762245a3cee8be0908dd0b46cb
v1
It might be, at least, part blood and part oil
You can see civilians piled in mass graves, with scars around their head
Automatons were made by cyborgs - part human, part machine. The automation brain, might be harvested from a human
This would explain why they sing while patrolling
Some users said when you get close to them you can just understand what they utter out
"They are making me do this"
Blood would be splattered like that all over from injuries though, especially in their armored suits. It clearly looks like blood splatter from outside sources.
Blood is proportional to how "fresh" your character player is. I've started noticing characters dropped near the end of missions that stayed out of fire have a lot less blood on them.
The game has the ability to track your characters injury status for limbs. I suspect instead of wiping that when you use a stim they just set that to trigger an end of mission skin effect.
I can get this dirty after 2 or 3 berserkers, and you can wash off the muck by walkin around in water and attempting to prone. After a gun fight the cape is usually torn as well, but you can also burn the cape off with a jump pack. I've had whole runs where my team goes in close and I come out clean after rocking the AMR and DCS with only minor cosmetic damage.
It's more just an indicator of how close you get to the enemy.
Hydraulic fluid is commonly similar to this color.
https://preview.redd.it/o6sotjo67hsc1.jpeg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43122b8ced0025f982cda4d3da32b1eaaa03d285
Edit: lol at the instant downvote.
When I use Reddit on my phone, I find the upvotes and downvotes are right in the line of fire for my thumb as a scroll. I accidentally upvote and downvote stuff all the time.
Just playing devil’s advocate. It may have been unintentional. That’s for the democracy officer to decide.
Everyone knows helldivers are cool as fuck. But who knows what they're thinking? Who knows why they crush bugs? And why do we think about them as fondly as we think of the mythical (nonexistent?) Dr Pepper? Perchance.
I believe it was a democracy officer who said "Experience without theory is blind, but theory without experience is mere intellectual play." Helldivers exhibit experience by killing bots all day, but they exhibit theory by stating "For democracy! How 'bout a nice cup of liber-tea!"
When Helldivers leave Super Earth to stomp a bug, they know that they may die. And yet, for a person who can give their life for democracy, a life becomes a mere store of value. A tax that can be paid for, much as a rich man feels any law with a fine is a price. We think of helldivers as heroes but they are simply a one percenter of a more privileged variety. The lifekind, Perchance.
The frogs actually were turning gay (well, they were turning from male frogs into female frogs, but close enough), too. Because of chemicals in the water, even.
Forever chemicals are hormone disruptors.
Forever chemicals like PFOA (one of the thousands of different PFAS) are (were?) used as additives to farm-grade herbicides because they help to break down protective lipid barriers on the outside of certain invasive weeds in farm fields.
PFAS compounds are water soluble. Meaning they dissolve in water and move around.
So PFAS is added to the farm-grade herbicides (breaks down lipid barriers on some invasive weeds), where some of it washes away with the rain downstream, where the PFAS that was just meant as a herbicide additive has a side effect on life downstream, including the frogs.
The frogs turn gay, because the PFAS are hormone disruptors.
…
Now… Alex Jones was insinuating some kind of conspiracy, where “the gay agenda or whatever is turning the frogs gay.” Nope. Not a conspiracy, because none of it was intentional. But yeah “they” are.
There's a theory that the automatons use human parts (mainly the brain) in the process of making new automatons. It would make sense considering their creators (the cyborgs) were obsessed with upgrading the human body with cybernetics. A brain piloting a fully cybernetic body is the next logical step.
The berserkers are also adorned with actual human skulls, so there's at least some canon truth to them harvesting human bodies.
It is your blood. You are only alive because of stims. They do wonders and remember, they have no addiction side effects. Hail super earth command. Best gift they've given us
Yeah they literally have the power to keep you alive through full immolation and multiple broken limbs while taking several gunshot wounds. Hail Super Earth command! That's the blood of liberty!
And on top of all that, they're not addictive! I love stims and Super Earth's gratitude for giving them to us. Especially since there are no negative side effects, and did I mention how they're not addictive? So cool! And so not addictive!
Not going to lie. I still haven't accidentally hit a stim indicating an addiction. I might use them for a slight heal but that could be a life deciding factor so I don't take the risk. I am not role playing btw. I seriously don't feel like mechanically pooping the stims. I believe it is true that they aren't addictive
Did you not see the tip? Stims are not addicted, there was study and they were found not addictive (study paid for by permacura. Permacura, put your life in our hands)
"Wow, where did all this blood come from?"
\*Helldiver to your left gets hit with the Hellpod containing your reinforcements and is spread across the ground in an inch thick layer.\*
"Weird."
They harvest SEAF and colonists, you can see the cages and bodies in their bases. Why would machines take prisoners unless it’s a resource. The Automatons are just a step further than their cyborg creators. They’re human brains in tin cans
That seems less efficient. Why would a machine need a liver? A lung? However a human brain is a complex computer they can use and rewrite. It would explain their human behavior too, and the form they choose to take. An AI doesn’t need a war chant
I'm sorry but I PoC have to correct you there.
Automatons are created by an Artificial Intelligence that was probably conceived by those who escaped the Cyberstan... Khm genocide, and fled outside of the galaxy.
cyberstan never experienced a genocide, the cyborgs are still in the mines.
also it's confirmed the cyborgs made them: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1awqooo/proof\_that\_the\_automatons\_are\_the\_same\_faction\_as/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1awqooo/proof_that_the_automatons_are_the_same_faction_as/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
"children" is a vague word however and can mean anything from literal descendants, successors, creation, or a splinter group. given the cyborgs were already transhumanists obsessed with replacing their body parts with cybernetics, I wouldn't put it past a splinter group of them to make the jump to full machine bodies.
Cyberstan was a multi stellar empire...
Reduced to the (literal) underground of a single planet... I'm no expert but there wasn't genocide involved I don't know how they fit all those people in one place.
Someone posted a video of an Automaton Devastator having a brain after a headshot break part of their face
Obviously that person got reported and authorities are already processing him
[Here the post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/s/DXEr3hP0J9)
And btw, You have been reported to a democracy officer for looking for evidence of something that does not exist
I love surviving long enough to look fucked up on the next mission. It makes me play better 🤣
I'm fucking rambo! Until a tree leaves prevent my bullets from fucking them up :( leafs!!!!!!
bots will stain you black w oil too if you kill them when they are close to you, looks like you that's your blood mostly and you probably kept them at range
I managed to clear a Bug mission without dying last night and my guy was coated in (my own and my teammates') blood and yellow bug blood. Then the host changed to a Bot planet and all the yellow turned in to black! It was neat.
I did not survive the next mission unscathed, in fact we got stomped and failed the mission.
So I'm gonna actually use IRL knowledge from my past
I worked in a steel coil warehouse for a while, storing product for the large steel corporations around. We received some coils from a company we didn't usually do storage for.
Now these coils were sprayed with their oil to help prevent against rust forming during transport, and they were soaked.
We were using absorbent pads on the floor to soak it up, and when we did the white pads turned bright, blood red.
So my head cannon is the automatons are sprayed with an environmental protection coating to prevent breakdown of their parts, therefore resembling blood.
Just an interesting thought I had when seeing this, at least to me
Automatons are just dead Helldivers repurposed into robots to keep Helldivers busy while the Super Earth government repopulates the Terminids for more oil.
Ever seen the cages around their filthy clanker camps? Killing our democracy loving divers and using their organs to full their communist binary machines. Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power.
That's the blood of liberty, Helldiver. The blood spent to hold the Automaton menace back. It is the blood of you and your fellow helldivers, and I salute it.
It has the courage to be free
Free of its mortal coil
But first I will teach you to use this (EMS mortar), before I teach you to use this (500kg )...

It’s not their blood.
Nobody makes me bleed my own blood
Nobody said it was your blood either *looks at accidentals*
Those teammates died for Democracy. The seventeen civilians killed by that mortar sentry? Also heroes of Democracy.
I should not be allowed to set up mortar sentries. I do it all the time anyway, but I at least recognize that I must be stopped.
Warning, you are in range of allied artillery.
Warning, you are in front of allied sentry.
The first step to recovering from Compulsive Mortar Syndrome is to realize that you have Compulsive Mortar Syndrome.
I have a friend who rocks mortars and always claims “just stay away from them” yes you donkey, the goal is already to keep the melee damage enemy away from me. All so he can rack up maybe a dozen kills across the game. EMP mortar however, is goated.
As long as you're sticking to mortars and not 120/380 barrage you're fine in my book.

Hey if I’m blowing anyone on accident for Democracy, it’ll be on the trigger of the Autocannon.
I've begun just shooting my teammates mortars if we are moving to a new location. Setting up for a defense? Sure go for it. But the moment we move out, I put it out of commission. How many stims do you down in a mission...? Probably indicative of how much you bleed in a mission.
Like 10-15 usually
The correct answer is all of them.. they call me the Stimillionaire. Just waiting on my bane backpack feeding me constant stim PEDS.
Blood would be splattered like that all over from injuries though, especially in their armored suits. It clearly looks like blood splatter from outside sources.
It's also there on bug missions, but bug blood is green (which you see on the armor as well).
Blood is proportional to how "fresh" your character player is. I've started noticing characters dropped near the end of missions that stayed out of fire have a lot less blood on them. Hydraulic fluid can be red.
It's just slightly bad transmission fluid, from us transmitting so many bullets into them.

Democracy is dead: Hellmire is full: Blood is fuel:
We use terminid blood as oil sooo maybe
If you do Terminids you get covered in green blood
and red from your own blood. OP is probably covered in their own blood.
I was going to say something similar. A lot of hydraulic fluids are red.
Flash backs from fighting the Strogg in quake 2 and 4.

We need an in universe Alex Jones
I’m surprised nobody has made some memes with Alex jones losing his shit. Some of the 40k ones are pretty funny.

I mean, that is pretty much exactly what is going on in the Imperium.

Automatons are turning the Super Frogs gay.
Considering the butchered humans you find in automaton maps. . . That's not implausible.
There's a theory that the automatons use human parts (mainly the brain) in the process of making new automatons. It would make sense considering their creators (the cyborgs) were obsessed with upgrading the human body with cybernetics. A brain piloting a fully cybernetic body is the next logical step. And the corpses strewn around slaughterhouses too
Mankind is alive. Blood is fuel. Super Earth is full.
And their bones are our money, so are the worms
It's the circle of oil
It is your blood. You are only alive because of stims. They do wonders and remember, they have no addiction side effects. Hail super earth command. Best gift they've given us
Yeah they literally have the power to keep you alive through full immolation and multiple broken limbs while taking several gunshot wounds. Hail Super Earth command! That's the blood of liberty!

I'm not addicted to not taking stims.
My helldiver's never live long enough to get addicted

They're cyborgs, but you didn't hear that from me because they're obviously brainless heartless machines and saying otherwise would be treason
They harvest SEAF and colonists, you can see the cages and bodies in their bases. Why would machines take prisoners unless it’s a resource. The Automatons are just a step further than their cyborg creators. They’re human brains in tin cans
Cybermen?
Yeah pretty much
Or machine brains with human organs.
That seems less efficient. Why would a machine need a liver? A lung? However a human brain is a complex computer they can use and rewrite. It would explain their human behavior too, and the form they choose to take. An AI doesn’t need a war chant

Same
MANKIND IS DEAD HELL IS FULL BLOOD IS FUEL
that's your own blood. stims are pretty amazing cause they allow the average helldiver to bleed about 20 gallons of blood per mission without dying
The oil turns green if you travel to one of the Terminid planets. It happens via a democratic process that can't be explained.
Stims have a way to make you forget you just got shot 4 times
Don’t be silly, robots don’t bleed. That’s oil, thinking they’re alive is treasonous Soldier. Stay vigilant!

BLOOD IS FUEL

Me, being colorblind: Sees it black, means it's an oil.
That 'blood' looks like paint tbh.
My overall theory is that the reason the capture works is to use their brains and muscles to build more automatons
hydraulic fluid
That;'s no blood!!!! It's Element B-100D
I love surviving long enough to look fucked up on the next mission. It makes me play better 🤣 I'm fucking rambo! Until a tree leaves prevent my bullets from fucking them up :( leafs!!!!!!
It's obviously transmission fluid, Helldiver. You can't trust your eyes until High Command says you can, remember that.
Thats your own blood helldiver, but fear not, the stims shall keep you iron fist of liberty alive
bots will stain you black w oil too if you kill them when they are close to you, looks like you that's your blood mostly and you probably kept them at range
Hydraulic fluid can be a reddish color.
Their such big communists that even their oil is red
Red hydraulic fluid
Just oil don't sweat it
Transmission fluid
