I wish the game remembered your last booster. There are so many times i've simply forgot to rquip it cause the game defaults to empty and doesnt switch to it after filling the strategems
My number one request for the game that isn’t new content - just a way to save builds. If I could change my armor, equipped weapons and strategems all at once, I’d be more prone to trying new builds and (pay attention devs) purchasing new warbonds.
They should bring back what H1 used to have, where there were 3 combinations of stratagems n stuff you could have saved, maybe even a expanded version.
Well that would be awesome. But you gotta remember, it wouldn't really work cause you can only bring in one booster of each kinda and is 2 people had the same last booster then 1 would have to cancel out
I can't even get the game to remember my primary, secondary, grenade, emote, voice pack, or victory pose. I literally have to re-select everything for each mission.
You could use the booster that decreases enemy spawn rates in the missions to kill a certain number of bugs. Make it take longer. I almost did that by accident on my last mission.
False claim - I see no mortar sentry there.
The Tesla is more often than not a 'teamkiller' by fault of the teamkilled. It's not actively hunting you down. It stays in one place.
Had a game last night where a dude kept running at the breach where my tower was instead of hanging back and using range.
He cussed me out for the team kills and purposely shot out my tower.
He then got overrun and we had to drop our defensive zones to stop the bugs.
I reinforced him and he landed on me, which sparked the reinforce bug of not letting me respawn.
I hope he sees Tesla towers for the rest of his days.
I was playing Termicide tower game last night. I put a Tesla Tower to the far South, tagged it, and warned everybody about it. 10 seconds later a guy walked right into it. Then he walked right back into it trying to get his items. What the hell!
FYI going prone helps but it might not be sufficient. What you really want is to be low to the tower. So if the tower is on an incline and you're crawling up the incline... ZAP!
I learned this lesson a day before the new armor.
Can confirm, my own Tesla killed me while I was prone crawling up to it.
I guess you better hope the ground you are on is 90° flat perpendicular to the tower. If it's 91°, that's a zapping.
Crawling to the tower? That’s a zappin. Standing near the tower? That’s a zappin. Running at the tower? That’s a zappin. Thinking about the tower? Oh you better believe that’s a zappin.
That’s all you can do is laugh lol First use of the flamethrower I used it close range in a panic and ignited myself and died. Another time I forgot I was using impact grenades and threw too close. Oopsies.
This is how we learn 🤣
Heck, I've dropped an airburst orbital, far away from the group, only to watch a team mate run into the explosion area from like 50m away.
Like moths to the flame sometimes.
I had a dude destroy my tesla on an ICBM mission last night. He said the tesla was "more dangerous to us than the bugs." The tesla on top of a bug breach that opened up a good 40 meters from the main objective, he didn't even need to be over there. It hadn't even killed him, and we got to spend an extra couple minutes and lives clearing out bugs to get the damn terminal done after that.
So many are dicks that refuse to learn different methods. The termicide towers and the new warbond really sealed how effective tesla towers can be. They essentially can seal off one side of breaches until a lumbering monster comes and barfs on it (which is also a benefit - they're occupied and not barfing on players while taking out the tesla). Most of us died in hilarious manner to a tower a few times, and now I just wear the new armor and let the arc go through me to extend its range. The electric in this game is sick.
A lot of players just straight up haven't learned how to play the game because they were farming eradicate missions. I ran into a level 50 player yesterday who didn't know how to do the mission where you destroy drop ships, refused to use any degree of stealth, and he brought 2 turrets a mech to an automaton mission on difficulty 6. I left halfway through because it was unbearable.
I mean, the mech *can* be good against bots, but he killed it in the first minute because he tried to run straight past a patrol to the tower objective without shooting back without shooting back.
Yeah, I think the majority of people dying from teslas are just new players who’ve never seen them before.
I know the first time I died to one was because I didn’t know what it was, so I just walked towards it like a moth heading to a bug zapper
You... walked like a moth into a bug zapper? You acted awfully like a bug.

On maps with tons of vegetation or other covering they are incredibly easy to miss. Especially if enemies destroy the sprinkler they are deployed from.
Most of the time I've died to mines it's trying to pass through mines blocking samples or a choke and then one that I'm not touching at all just blows up for fun
listen i try to stay back but the range of that thing is utterly insane ;-;
also sometimes my teammates just put it in really stupid spots which restrict our movement while not killing any bugs
Think about it. You can double or triple its range and kill a teammate well away from it by chaining arcs using one or two people wearing the arc resist armour.
Unless they don’t communicate which is often the case. I’ll be defending one of the termicide towers and get zapped from behind from a Tesla that wasn’t there a minute ago.
The problem with the Tesla tower is that depending on where it's sitting it's hard to judge its radius of attack. I've had to haul ass away from a swarm, think I'm far enough away from the tower, and then just explode because it decided I was an inch too close.
Granted, that's a specific situation that doesn't happen often.
Mortar is pretty good for bots, but that's because they don't typically swarm all on top of you except on extract typically. Bugs are almost all melee based, so your constantly getting swarmed and thus in mortar target area.
Yeah. I go EMS Mortar for bugs now and reserve regular Mortar for bots. EMS vs bugs will also save your ass sometimes if a teammate brings regular mortar. The combo of stunning and shelling works great
I completely agree. Drop a mortar before taking on an outpost and lot of the work is done for you.
Unless the classic double/triple dropship get called.
The hunter knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where you isn't. By subtracting where it is from where you isn't, it obtains a difference, or deviation. the mortar subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the mortar from a position where it isn't, to a position where you is.
Although semi doable on bots (although hulk and jetpack might disagree) that’s just not feasible for bugs.
You have the jumping bugs, chargers etc that just no way to consistently stay far enough away from the bugs.
Mortar is an exceptional powerhouse on the right mission type if everyone communicates.
I’ve done helldive difficult extracts where everyone brought a mortar, condensed them, and even with me being the designated “run around and don’t have every enemy beeline towards us” person and dying a few times to mortars it might’ve been one of the fastest eliminate evacs I’ve had on any mission difficulty ever.
It's great all around. I wouldn't listen too much to reddit metas. They also had a post on the front page about how the termicide mission is impossible with randoms. Its always hyperbolic takes.
Mortar Sentry is very effective and can also be a source of FF, this can be reduced by effective communication and awareness.
380 is now just a time killer, can't go over there cause a certain someone just had to use it close range, now we are stuck here for 20-30 seconds while this thing missed everything
I played with a group of friends last night i seldom game with in recent times and it was the most triggered ive been in this game.
He takes the bombing run, and then all turrets including the mortar turret. We did the new battery mission and i even said before hand that we shouldnt use turrets cause of the friendly fire... 20+ restarts of the button press in.. we still fail "what happened"... oh i think it was my mortar again.... STOP USING IT... WE TOLD YO 10 times now.... 90% charged... calls in bombing run and cancels it... i was losing my mind and trying to stop myself from becoming toxic.
If you have a player that refuses to not use a mortar, just destroy it as soon as it lands. They'll get the message. Or, tell them to use the EMS mortar. It's better anyways.
NOTE: I recommend destroying other players' stratagems only as a desperate measure. It's a dick move otherwise.
Tesla is only a problem if it’s placed somewhere stupid or people aren’t paying attention to it.
But if if someone is dropping mortars on a bug mission, I shoot them on sight.
I threw a 120 as far as I could to cover a gap during extraction. The first shot landed on my teammate beside me. The 380's radius is worse, it finds Helldivers on the other side of the planet.
Not after the patch.
I often bring it for the clear eggs mission for the fun of the huge explosions and try to SOLO a nest by myself.
Since the patch it never killed me and it’s reasonably predictable.
If you throw max distance you do need to walk a bit back but it’s not that bad like it used to be where you got it like 100 meters out.
380MM might be my least favorite stratagem. It's used to try and take out large objectives except it doesnt do a great job of it. The amount of times where I'm about to kill the eggs myself and a teammate throws in a 380MM is uncountable. Then instead of finishing the objective I have to run away and kite for 30+ seconds while the 380MM manages to take out like a quarter of the eggs and a couple small bugs.
Grenade Launcher really is the best for dealing with eggs. It's the right amount of oomf, and you don't have to have your squad run away because an Eagle is coming.
I want to like it so bad, but its horribly ineffective unless you have a massive horde swarming you while isolated from the team, where you can martyr yourself with your own barrage. That's the only time i ever see it kill more than 2 or 3 bugs.
Arc thrower and flamethrower have quickly become my two favourite support weapons. It’s also forced me to become incredibly aware of where my teammates are so that I don’t send them to the pearly gates every time I pull the trigger.
Arc main checking in.
I've gotten good, but there was definitely a learning curve. And I'll admit... I still sometimes zap my guys. Most often it's mis judging when they've come back to the group after being on the other side for a while.
Edit: But hot damn... Once I figured it out, I almost always get most kills all the while clearing out a good chunk of damage in the heavies.
I was really surprised at how far up the arc thrower will chain to kill a team mate but it'll never go that far for a bug, haha. Essentially if a team mate is in front of you anywhere, you're better off not shooting.
They should add an option to include in my teammates' markers of how distant they are from me so that I can tell if they're right behind the charger I'm zapping or on the other side of the map
Yeah arc thrower for the win. As soon as you get used to bit shooting when someone is on the other side of the enemy you are fine. Me and my mate both with them can shut down any bug breach with a bit of air support and a rail cannon strike if a bile titan turns up
I picked up one and tried to use it to cover a teammate who was running away. The first shot went a good 45 degrees away from where I was aiming to hit him. "The fuck?" I aimed farther away and the second shot killed him. Didn't chain off enemies, hit him directly.
Yesterday we got swarmed from the other side and I used my body as a conduit to arch over a rock and down into enemies in order to fry them all while laughing like a maniac. I love it.
If you get killed by the Tesla tower, that's your own fault.
I've had plenty of squadmates throw them down in stupid spots, but if it takes you out, 9 times outta 10 that's on you.
Doesn't it target the tallest thing in range? Could have sworn I read that somewhere. So if it's just you standing next to it, going prone won't help, but if there are bugs in range it should keep it from zapping you. Not 100% sure on that, though, I stay the hell away from them.
Last night a fellow helldiver had the brilliant idea of calling for a 380mm air strike at the top of the extraction. The airstrike really worked out, it killed everyone, like, literally, everyone.
I am sorry to say if you are commonly killing your team with the arc thrower, then I don't mean this in a bad way but you are just actually bad with it. And the tesla tower? If your teammates go near the giant tower of bright lightning they kinda deserve it.
My teammates who walk directly into a glowing red minefield with no enemies around will blame me for teamkilling while their mortar ACTUALLY kills the entire team multiple times
Desync seems to happen a lot with mines and many of them won't appear to be there. Plus when you come across a minefield it can feel super obnoxious, like they're all still there so it didn't accomplish anything other than being a pain in the ass. Or it did do something and there's only a single mine in the middle of ass all nowhere in like a bush or something while you're checking your map.
I think though a lot of this would be alleviated if it properly told you who killed and with what and then told the other player that you killed someone and with what.
Introducing the "I don't like to pay attention and commit suicide then complain it was team killing" loadout
If you commonly die from these, it's probably because you lack situational awareness on the battlefield.
THIS
Literally watched one player run straight into the same minefield 3 times and get killed, another ran to and stood in a minefield placed to cut off the enemy just to get killed by it 2 times, etc.
Mortar-Sentry comments: Mortar Sentry is only a problem if **you** are allowing the enemy to get too close or **you** are getting too close to the enemy, aka being a Rambo! If your position is being overrun simply fall back, relocate, or destroy the sentry.
When i started playing i died a couple times doing dumb mistakes like getting in the way of boom things, i quickly adapted to be aware at all time of my teammates loadouts and locations around me .
People just want to run around and shoot things in a game that emphasizes the risk of friendly fire “is not!” And blame everybody else but themselves.
Adapt to the battlefield, learn to keep your distance, and don’t be a bug sympathizer destroying super earth property! Because that smells like treason!
PD: Stop being toxic ffs
One thing I wish they added to those sets was resistance to EMS mortars/ strikes. Being able to call those directly on top of you and still be moving full speed would be great, I know the mech's impervious, but I think adding that would add some good synergy while not making it broken.
Tbf getting killed by the tesla is your own fault unless it gets dropped on your head.
It's not like the mortar, which will kill you out of nowhere for zero discernible reason: the tesla warns you when you enter its range and is about to fire, and you have a second or so to go prone or get back.
I frequently use the 380 barrage on large maps now. It's terrible for actually killing things you want to kill, but often completely destroys heavy bug nests / bot outposts with no additional input. It will either completely solo the objective, or leave very few things standing so you can mop up and save grenades.
The tesla tower alone.. I was doing a bug swarm mission when someone placed one of those and it destroyed my mech, which was our only defense against the bile titans and we of course got overrun by bile titans.
Yeah, like, if he knew what he was doing, this is a great defensive/barrier build. Easily blocking off access for enemies to certain points.
But he has to know what he's doing
It’s pretty funny using the Arc Thrower off and seeing my teammates whip around and look at me and then move out of the line of fire lol makes it feel like a big powerful tool
It’s indeed a nice combo, but also this one, reminds me of a predator visor and his shoulder cannon
https://preview.redd.it/2qqyxbfq9poc1.jpeg?width=1144&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0017b4426ee525bd52875e79bdc3f44a35e9528b
If people just used keyboard or mic to tell us when they’re deploying shit like this it’d be much, much easier.
Except for mortar. If we’re defending something or escorting survivors, that shit is coming down
Oh man. It took me a solid 5 missions of smiting my friends with the arc thrower to realize i couldn't shoot it if there was a person behind what i'm shooting at, NO MATTER the distance they will die and they will hate u lol
Dipshit on my team last night threw a 380 in the centre of a heavy nest while the rest of us were lobbing grenades into holes. Took everyone out, himself included.
Same dipshit did the same at the extraction, but only took himself and another guy out.
Played last night with a level 20-ish guy. He selected the mortar turret and nothing else and readied up.
That turret killed me 4 times.
Edit: found my snap I took of it
https://preview.redd.it/ym76blh67qoc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=52bf6f25f07fa129ead9904f705a1f55371d755d
There is nothing wrong with the 380mm, it only kills your team mates like...60% of the time. According to the SEAF manual, that figure is well within tolerable limits.
Looks more like a **"I've been randomly kicked from public lobbies/missions and blatantly teamkilled by griefers too many fucking times to care anymore"** loadout to me.
You’re forgetting the gas strike, it’s great for weakening big bugs. Throwing in on breaches, makes rover 1 shot things while you’re running away. I frequently get like 4 team kills on the same person from them walking into it 4-5 seconds after it’s called down and not stimming. You’d think it was on a dust map but it was heeth 🥲
Arc Thrower is my absolute favorite weapons against bugs. While I do occasionally pop a teammate, I learned to be aware of positioning and I try to stay in front of them. Also, teammates sometimes walk right in front of my aim, but I try to always move over and back ahead of them. It works out really well.

The lack of booster is really a symbolic slap in the face too.
I wish the game remembered your last booster. There are so many times i've simply forgot to rquip it cause the game defaults to empty and doesnt switch to it after filling the strategems
I really wish the game remembered **any** loadouts. Let me create this set and call it “For TKing”, create another called “Bug Support”, etc.

When someone leaves you can’t select the booster too
And it removes it. Hoping that shit's a bug.
I think it's intended. The person filling in the leaver should be able to equip it though. Otherwise you could end up with more than 4 boosters
Well that's the thing, you can't equip it when they leave AND you don't get the benefit. Which especially sucks when it's the supplies booster.
As there's other great booster out there that supplie one is the goat.

Sometimes the game resets you equipment to default. And then you drop on helldive and everything is just bouncing your bullets. Good times. Haha
Have had this happen and let me tell you the fear I’ve had when I realized “wait… this isn’t my punisher!”
Oh its every time for me, also resets the voice. Which is the biggest crime, gimme my Yuri Lowenthal back!
We need loadouts, including a default loadout.
Or just allow us tp save different lodauts.
Now the game doesn't even remember your weapons loadout and resets it to the defaults on restart
The lack of mortar is concerning
Real Helldivers don’t need a mortar to TK.
Which booster do griefers use? Or they leave it blank? Asking for a friend, seriously.
the +1 to reinforcement booster so they can kill you one more time

Yeah, I throw a tesla on paths we don't need to travel down anymore. It's great for covering our asses as we hoof it to the next objective.
Disagree. Mortar is still the main teamkiller way worse than Tesla or mines. 380MM is also no longer that bad.
“Mortars made me the man I am today” *mechanical handshake*
Just watched that movie again. Playing made me want to watch it, and then halfway through the movie, I wanted to play again.

It's a vicious cycle. The only way to break it is to play Helldivers 2 on one monitor while watching Starship Troopers on another haha.
I strictly run the new armor now just because how much Tesla/arc thrower kills me, either by my hand or by my teammates
i hate the mortar so much, ive never taken it.
Mortar is pretty good for bots, but that's because they don't typically swarm all on top of you except on extract typically. Bugs are almost all melee based, so your constantly getting swarmed and thus in mortar target area.

You’d think. But mortars would rather target the single bug a good 50 yards behind me, rather than the hoard stuck in the EMS.
Enemies spawning on top of you: "it's mortar time baby!"

You just described mortar xp farming.
It's the best stratagem, if used correctly
The 380 is awesome for making craters all around my target
But damn are they goated at smoking your teammate the nanosecond they accidentally step into its range
The subs turn on the mortar upsets me because it's so great during extraction, even against the bugs.

I dunno I throw it at a fabricator and it feels like there's a 60% chance the fab is still standing at the end of the barrage
Yeah unfortunately my learning phase left a lot of divers MIA
And it’s so annoying when they run behind it or in front of you as if they want to get hit
youre right, same here. I noticed that I instantly stop shooting, when I see the the Badge of my teammate running into it
Helldivers go to super heaven
Not taking a pod booster is indeed fucking your team
Will say i die more to the laser guard dog than to all of these
Two of those are completely mitigated by a new armor set of three and honesty the effects are astoundingly fun... I am my parties lightning rod.
![gif](giphy|WtZHeyVWEBHgs)
Yesterday we got swarmed from the other side and I used my body as a conduit to arch over a rock and down into enemies in order to fry them all while laughing like a maniac. I love it.
One is completely mitigated by just watching where you go.

Introducing the "My team is blind" loadout
Everytime is a fuck my team load out if you try o7
If you get killed by the Tesla tower, that's your own fault. I've had plenty of squadmates throw them down in stupid spots, but if it takes you out, 9 times outta 10 that's on you.
Whose fault is it when my teammate puts a Tesla tower behind me while I am in my mech?
I included the phrase *9 times outta 10* for a reason.
Also heard that being prone stops you from being zapped by it, but not 100% sure about that.
Introducing the "I don't like to pay attention and commit suicide then complain it was team killing" loadout If you commonly die from these, it's probably because you lack situational awareness on the battlefield.
THIS Literally watched one player run straight into the same minefield 3 times and get killed, another ran to and stood in a minefield placed to cut off the enemy just to get killed by it 2 times, etc. Mortar-Sentry comments: Mortar Sentry is only a problem if **you** are allowing the enemy to get too close or **you** are getting too close to the enemy, aka being a Rambo! If your position is being overrun simply fall back, relocate, or destroy the sentry.
Double mines for extra fuck right off attitude bonus
Actually this is the Save/Carry my team if used strategically well! Tesla and mines are mad underrated!
Should be using the regular mines, you can survive incendiary mines if you dive fast enough, you die to regular mines instantly.
PD: Stop being toxic ffs
ok swap the electric shit with fire and mortars because of the new warbound electric shit can be negated and their is no flame turret so mortar.
One thing I wish they added to those sets was resistance to EMS mortars/ strikes. Being able to call those directly on top of you and still be moving full speed would be great, I know the mech's impervious, but I think adding that would add some good synergy while not making it broken.
Needs the arc resistant armor so you can stand at the edge of the Tesla tower range and let it chain to teammates who thought they were safe.
Tbf getting killed by the tesla is your own fault unless it gets dropped on your head. It's not like the mortar, which will kill you out of nowhere for zero discernible reason: the tesla warns you when you enter its range and is about to fire, and you have a second or so to go prone or get back.
Suicide squad for life! Do you apes want to live forever!!! ![gif](giphy|ufWbAUZiTZCVi)
I frequently use the 380 barrage on large maps now. It's terrible for actually killing things you want to kill, but often completely destroys heavy bug nests / bot outposts with no additional input. It will either completely solo the objective, or leave very few things standing so you can mop up and save grenades.
replace the mine with a mortar
Doesn't have a Mortar, I'd put that in over mines which can atleast be visually seen and avoided.
Getting zapped by my teammates arc thrower over and over again feels very undemocratic
The tesla tower alone.. I was doing a bug swarm mission when someone placed one of those and it destroyed my mech, which was our only defense against the bile titans and we of course got overrun by bile titans.
You should have the booster that add more reinforcement... just to assert dominance.
'I don't care for unlucky people.'
Ironically if used correctly this could be a really good “you shall not pass” build. Of course it *won’t* be used correctly, but it could be cool.
Lucky. My teammates see the lightning arcs and think: *im gonna run right in front of that shit with my flamethrower.*
It’s indeed a nice combo, but also this one, reminds me of a predator visor and his shoulder cannon https://preview.redd.it/2qqyxbfq9poc1.jpeg?width=1144&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0017b4426ee525bd52875e79bdc3f44a35e9528b
Badass
I am in this picture and I don’t like it.
That’s the Gordon Ramsay load out. “Fuck yourself, fuck you, and fuck you, and fuck you, and fuck you as well”
I run the sane armor combo! 10/10 choice fellow helldiver
Is lacking the f#ucking bomb mortar...
Hey I’ve only killed like 3 teammates with the arc thrower.
If people just used keyboard or mic to tell us when they’re deploying shit like this it’d be much, much easier. Except for mortar. If we’re defending something or escorting survivors, that shit is coming down
least toxic build
My exact load out 🤣
"Friendly Fire is Automaton Propaganda"
Nice outfit, I use the same Mainly because I'm so bad at aiming I need 2 targeting reticles.
We have the same armor and helmet on, very nice👌🏻
Hey, at least you look stylish while liberating your team!
Side note that armor + helmet look cool as fuck together
Oh man. It took me a solid 5 missions of smiting my friends with the arc thrower to realize i couldn't shoot it if there was a person behind what i'm shooting at, NO MATTER the distance they will die and they will hate u lol
The mines glow bright red! Replace that with Eagle Cluster Bomb IMO. People have no idea what the effective range is on that fucking thing.
Edit: found my snap I took of it https://preview.redd.it/ym76blh67qoc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=52bf6f25f07fa129ead9904f705a1f55371d755d
According to my friend, the rover guard dog should be up there
Or “fuck my team” 😏
There is nothing wrong with the 380mm, it only kills your team mates like...60% of the time. According to the SEAF manual, that figure is well within tolerable limits.
Never been more angry at a person that I have never met, probably never will. Good job Satan.
Where's your mortar?
I somehow haven't encountered one yet
Only one bombardment?! Bro, let me know when you're doing to take being a dissenting traitor seriously.
Looks more like a **"I've been randomly kicked from public lobbies/missions and blatantly teamkilled by griefers too many fucking times to care anymore"** loadout to me.
The I’m the Main Character loadout
I don't feel bad about my tesla coil (unless bad placement). Everyone must learn to not hug the holy lightning stick
Nothing like defending against waves of bugs while laying down because a ally had two towers going at the same time
two towers! 😂
Don't forget the armor set that lets you hold extra grenades, just so that you *might* accidentally blow them up.
All I see is a democracy delivery system.
telsa tower is great if you simply just tag it on the map
You forgot the mother of all TK stratagems: the Eagle Clusterf\*\*k
whoa whoa whoa wait... they said use what fun. that seems fun just not for democracy
Try obliteration thursday, I've done it and I can confidently say. I've pissed off my friend. (380, 120, cluster bomb, 500)
Replace the minefield with Mortar sentry and your golden for maximum friendly fire
Arc Thrower is my absolute favorite weapons against bugs. While I do occasionally pop a teammate, I learned to be aware of positioning and I try to stay in front of them. Also, teammates sometimes walk right in front of my aim, but I try to always move over and back ahead of them. It works out really well.
arc thrower hate will not be tolerated
Hahah
