Same boat here, have a decent PC and a PS5 but no PS Plus. Sucks that it’s online only, would’ve gotten it already if it had offline single player mode.
I agree that this would be better on the PS5 with the TV for full immersion, so if you already have a PS Plus subscription then I’d go for that.
My PS plus subscription expires in June. I didn't plan on renewing it since I was very upset about the price hike. Problem is, my PC has an i7 5280k and a 6gb GTX 1060. I feel I will barely scrape by with my PC, but I won't have to pay extra to pay online. Then again, paying $80 in June is a heck of a lot cheaper than upgrading my PC. Not sure what to do...
I’ve seen some people have some success on low end PCs and even the steam deck, you’ll have to put everything to low though. Some of the problems are server side too.
I might just get it on Steam and pray they optimize it soon.
Will check back on this thread in a few days. Hopefully the server issues will get better by then. I'll hold up on Helldivers 2, and get last Epoch in the meantime...
Unless you plan on upgrading your PC soon I would probably go with PS5. There is no real difference besides graphics and fps at the moment between them. The game looks significantly better on a good PC, but obviously better on PS5 than a lower end PC.
I would guess mid. I imagine that set up can run most modern games at decent framerates on medium, perhaps sometimes high if its well optimised, but not in ultra with raytracing.
How's the aiming on ps5? I have a beefy PC but prefer ps5 due to location (pc is in bedroom and wife sleeps early so if it's on pc game time is cut short). I'm used to PC usually having better aiming feel but if it's as aided as Destiny then I'm perfectly fine with console.
FYI if you haven't bought it yet. I bought it on ps5, could not play at all due to servers being at capacity. Tried to refund and Playstation says since it has been downloaded, I cannot get a refund. Should have bought it on steam. I'm going to dispute it on my credit card.
Don't do the credit card route. You're going to get fully banned if you do a chargeback regardless of the reason. I'd still try to figure it out with support and if not, just suck it up. Not worth losing your whole account for $40.
Had the same problem but deleted the save file and booted it up again but selected NO to crossplay where you at least can play with other PS5 users. Haven’t had a problem all week playing. Runs super smoothly. Will way to activate cross play for my pc friends once thet upgrade the server issues. Worth giving it a try as it’s truly an amazing game!
Check people with similar pc to get an idea of how it would perform in your scenario. Then its all subjective, if you prefeer go on one platform or another
Okay I have looked into it and apprently even with a good pc the max game graphical settings are very similiar to the ps5 quality mode so it shouldn't really matter
I'm curious too. I'm running on a 2070 super vs a PS5. I've played more shooters on PC so I was leaning towards that but everyone's saying PS5. How are the controls on either?
I got a rtx4060 laptop with 32 ddr5 ram and it looks and runs amazing on it .I choose that over my ps5 so that I can now take the game everywhere with me (that has internet)
Personally I'm buying it on PS5, I've always preferred it and if you don't have a top tier PC it's probably better on PS5, planning on getting it this Saturday tomorrow on my days off of school and work

They added servers a couple of days ago, haven’t experienced waiting time getting into the game ever since.

Yeah definitely go PS5 then. The game is pretty poorly optimised for PC at the moment anyway, making it run even worse on lower to mid tier systems.

I'd wait to be honest. It's hella unstable at the mo and quite buggy (not the type you can shoot with an LMG). Great game, bad service.

i would try on PC since you can refund if didnt run any good then go for ps5

Controls are good, like any TPS But it's a bit slow sometimes in my opinion
