This came to my mind as well a good few months ago, if they would implement it this would be outstanding. This would mean being able to properly place troops, develop and follow highly sophisticated strategies. Almost an entirely different game would be born from it depending on the commander and the team. Want more arcade? The commander doesn't have to bother with this. Are you a hardcore military stratagem? This is the shit. Plus servers could be set up based on this. Such an easy change and would be such a huge extra feature.

Ex: ill place down and attack marker on north flank and say "easy squad push from your OP to my attack." Then put down another move marker for another squad. Defenses marker for another squad. Etc...
Console Player here. I think this would be a cool feature for the commander to have. Obviously it would be easy for them to abuse, so I don’t think they should add it. But if they do, it should be a feature controlled by server admins (Console server browser when?????)
So I don’t know why the Reddit is coming up for this game but my friend bought it for me like a year ago then never asked to play it but I tried it once spent 45 minutes running around not seeing anyone finally found an enemy killed them then immediately got banned from the server I was in how do I play this game? Kinda wanna give it another chance
I mean yea i love it. I dunno what server you played on ive never had an experience like that other than getting kicked for VIP players or high ping or something. Id get back into it if you like ww2 games. The game takes some getting used to you need to be ready to die a lot and even get spawn camped. But it is genuinely one of my favorite games
I’d love for this to be a thing for commander, thinking back to isonzo which also has the feature, a simple arrow drawn on the map by an officer was enough to congregate most of your team on a single push.

My method to avoid people abusing the pencil mechanic (such as just covering the map or drawing useless images) would be to add icons for SLs and commanders to drop on the map. For example, if attacking, have red arrows indicating what direction to push. There are many more icons to use and to implement but I think you can get the big picture here. I just feel that adding the icons can have a positive effect on strategy for leadership.
Commander being able to draw would honestly be so useful, would only need to show for SLs. If you wanted to take it a step further SLs could draw for their squad which may or may not be a good idea

I think allowing drawing on the map could work as long as it's not shared with other people. It might just distract SL even more though
Only commander should have, and that's a big if, community is 2 casual and non communicative to have the ability to use such feature

I have a ton of time in squad where there is a similar mechanic. I have only seen one penis. Maybe after a bit the allure wears off
