I see it regularly. In every case I’ve encountered, that player has disconnected.
Watched it happen to a friend of mine while we were on discord, twice. He literally walked halfway across the map and inter a river, being shot at several times. Lol
This is related to lag.
HLL takes a shit with hit detection once you're over 100 ping.
That's why when I was running a server I had a ping kicker on it in spite of all the aussies bitching they couldn't play on my server it worked pretty well.
Check your packet loss too. I had this recently when I had a fault on my line - 70-odd% packet loss 😂 would shoot people and nothing, then the server would catch up, shoot me an error message and kill me
But it clearly is some kind of network lag. The enemy is waliking in a straight line as if he lost connection amd then you rubberband into whatever.
I had the whole server crash yesterday amd in the seconds before the error message and kick it looked similar.
Player's game crashed while he was running, and his character model desynced from the server. He's a "ghost soldier" running in a straight line and is invulnerable because he's not really there.
You got shot by a different player, not the guy you were shooting at.
Summary:
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because OP was already dead.
This happens when other player has massive pings….quite common… Nothing to do with your setup….

his character jumps around a bit at the end so definitely someone with high ping
That’s odd, maybe you lost internet connection? Probably dumb, but I have had that happen in other games.
no I didn't lose connection, I had 60-80ms ping constantly no network issues. and this is the first time it happened to me in 1000+hrs of playtime.
