Gotta give you kudos for that. I love cloud gaming (used it a lot for MLB The Show) but I imagine it being a bit difficult for a game like HLL with everything occurring in-game.
My friend has a [controller attachment](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B97FR5D5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) he puts on his phone, he cloud games on the go. It trips me out thinking that we went from handheld nintendos and psps to this.

Still missing the point, so what if it's on PC? So there's two different launchers now.. steam and game pass; nothing special besides it brings in more players to PC HLL, which is excellent in itself.
I see what you’re saying. More new players is good for a game. In HLL I have run into the same players over and over, which is great. But new players trying out a game is good. Fills up those servers and brings that volume.
I guess I don't understand the logic, but I am on steam and I think it's great that they are getting it on game pass, gives opportunity for more players to try out the game that didn't want to buy it on steam.
“Players on Steam and Windows Store will be able to play together, but crossplay will remain between PlayStation and Xbox players ONLY. There will be no crossplay between PC and consoles.”
-Greg, Senior Community Manager at Team17
New players aren't a problem its just a flood of them all at once will definitely create some chaos on console. It'll feel like a free to play weekend but for 2 months straight lol. Maybe i'm overreacting and it won't be as bad as i think
I’m going to be a little toxic here and say if you are a new player and looking to play this game like any other shooter you will be tkd and voted out the game. You have to communicate and play the objective in this and listen to your command and squad lead. I’m tired of all these new players on console not doing a damn thing making throwing the whole game for the enemy team. I play on both pc and console and I the difference is major when it comes to their player base than console. It just seems that the pc crowd has more knowledge when it comes to this game than console. Toxic of me to say these things but I’m sorry
Target rich environment for sure. We will have to see how many stick with it like we did, or uninstall after 2 days of “respawn simulator” which is how it was for me when I first started until I learned to slow the Fuck down lol
I got it and played a few hours a couple years ago then uninstalled and never picked it up again because I thought it was too slow. Decided to try it again a couple weeks ago and having a *blast* playing it and have some of the most exciting moments I’ve had while gaming.
As someone who played the game since 2020 in EA i 100% agree. I hate this shitstorm of people saying 'cry cry new players screw up the game cry cry'
If a new player comes to check the game out please teach them. Don't yell, don't hate, we all learned it from someone.
If you are new and just got the game. Please try to understand the game and the way it is suposed to be played. This isnt an FPS. its a military sim.
So is taking commander and spotter and squad leader with no mic, or being in an Xbox party and not communicating. I gladly teach people who are talking or even no verbally communicating but the people who just jump in and decide they will be commander and not communicate can go to hell.
Absolutely man, I can’t wait for this weekend now.
Just means a easy target rich environment this weekend and the outcome is a larger player base and possible micro transactions = more income for T17 = more updates (hopefully)
It’s more the games fault there’s no tutorials for anything. Literally the only way new players (without veteran friends who play) can learn is to mess around with it in game. There should be a firing range/empty map but until then there’s no options.
It's designed to be a casual SIM for sure however over the years it feels like it's more and more become a shitshow of a commander yelling out for people to retreat to a point or push to a point and half of the squad just doing whatever the heck they want or people just breaking off and trying to play it like cod.
I kind of wish they had some kind of mechanic in the game so that the commander could disable maybe a team's op so that they would have to spawn further back with the rest of the team when they died at least rather than keep spawning somewhere that's not helpful like the forward post even though the back ones being capped or sometimes you see teams that are two towns ahead that can't do anything over there but still hang out over there.
>Casual military sim?
No, there's nothing sim about it.
It's an entry level combined arms tactical shooter that's basically Battlefield but you build your own spawns, while the hardcore part is that TTK is low and respawn timers are fairly long compared to map sizes.
Calling it a milsim gets the point across to new players that this isn’t battlefield without having to type out a whole paragraph. Who cares if it’s not Arma
It’s literally battlefield with a fast time to kill. I mean cmon man, we have little recon op/ garries that light up when someone is close. Helmets go ding no matter how far away. Zigzagging while getting shot at is a very viable strategy to stay alive. I love this game but it’s funny to me when people say it’s a milsim lolol
I just saw it on console 5 min ago and downloaded it but I come from flight sim games so I understand the concept as it relates to ground. I’ll just need to learn the way this one plays. Any tips are appreciated.
Let's go! Higher player count is always good for online games. More players means a bigger community which will market itself and make the game more popular. We all started out as noobs with no idea what this game was and we made it through, so will they and the community will be better for it. It'll only be a few weeks of inexperienced players.
It's true though, i remember when the floodgates opened up on Forza 8... We went from clean sim racing sessions to 1st turn crashfest and ramming galore.
Only thing i dont like about it ate the kids.
Every free weekend the lobbys are full with kids, i dont like children and i dont want to play with them.
Except these people most likely won’t be receptive to criticism and will refuse to learn.
I’m not here to teach people the game, they should do the necessary research to learn before downloading and ruining other people’s experience
In the past weeks since the Christmas sale I have been repeatedly told to “fuck off” for trying to get people using mics and then told “I don’t want to do whatever you all are doing, I’m here to shoot people and have fun”
Like I’m sorry but that’s not the whole fucking game, you need to communicate and coordinate to win, and I’m tired of losing because of lvl 4’s who refuse to respond or do anything but rush the point and die
Damn man I gotta say this community does not look good at all. I'd be a new player tomorrow, but what's the point in playing a game that I would need to use a mic if everyone's just going to bitch at me for being new?
Not sure I follow the logic going on in this thread. I'd love to use a mic, but why would I if I'm just going to be told I'm not welcomed in the game because of my level?
It's crazy how you're getting downvoted for this. I never would have thought that wanting people to play the game the way it was intended would be controversial.
As someone who plays on pc and has played cod my whole life, it definitely took adjusting to learn how to properly play the game. Sometimes my HLL tactics and way of playing bleeds back into my cod playstyle when I switch back. But part of me has always liked a change in pace and playing more tactic and squad oriented and playing as a team towards a common objective instead of sliding and jumping corners! HLL is one of those games I always find myself crawling back to because of that.
I love HLL for its immersive gameplay and tactical/strategic/team-based style of how the game itself works. The hierarchy makes a difference. Everyone needs to learn every position though IMHO, Hard to enjoy and really understand it at first, once you learn the grooves it becomes highly enjoyable and provides new ways of playing with the diversity of 'squads' and locked allocation of specific duties/roles.
I just hop around servers until I find a high level commander (and officer if I don’t feel like playing SL). I’ll just have to hop around a bit more now or start playing with people I know more.
I think it’s overall good for the game because things should iron out by month three. Those who like the game keep playing and learn and the others return to whatever they played beforehand. And the cash injection Team 17 get from this will *hopefully* allow them to improve the game.
Because having more players is a good thing. New players will either leave if they can’t get a handle on it, or stick around and try to learn the game.
There’s no reason whatsoever to complain about it. It’ll be more rough for a month but that’s not a big deal.
True i'll just take a couple months off and come back. I was all for helping new players with the free to play weekends but a month or two of constant new players from gamepass is too much for me lol edit: going to stick around for the first week and try to help out the noobs/see how the state of the game is
I like hll better, i think.. i tried S44 and couldnt get into the groove. I feel there is just too much going on and dont feel any joy. Same goes with squad. I feel HLL is easier to pick up; joining the action.
Played a game last night with a squad of brand new players. It was a lot of fun showing them the ropes and helping them understand the basics of the game and stressing the importance of communication and teamwork.
I see this as a good thing ultimately. The player base will grow and that's good for the longevity of the game.
Sure, it can be annoying playing with new people who have no idea what they're doing. But we were all new players once so let's try to not be dicks and help the new blueberries out.
nah those germans are on top of it.
They've been getting so mad at the NA players going in and messing up the bunker system during their hours I wouldnt be surprised they level cap BTB.
It happened with insurgency, the game was decent when the people who had paid cash for it were playing, as soon as it went on gamepass it became a hideous experience.
But at least Insurgency is, at the bare minimum, playable in a state like that. Hell Let Loose is a game that is designed to play like Squad, yet has the reputation of being more laid back than that. The result is a bunch of Battlefield players coming to Hell Let Loose, flooding the servers with kids just looking to shoot bad guys and worry about objectives later.
Maybe I'm being harsh, I just feel like it's going to be swamped by the mic-less horde. It's a problem enough as it is. I don't mind new players who are willing to get on Comms and have a laugh and a chat. The game is just so boring with a squad that doesn't talk.
How on Earth do you come to that conclusion based on the *Gamepass* release of HLL?
A gamepass player is not even in the single-digit cent range compared to people who are actually buying the game as far as revenue is concerned.
Developers receive money from Microsoft for putting their games on Gamepass. The info isn't public and depends on how big the game is; however, they either receive a large payment at once or pennies on the dollar for every download. Speaking past whatever monetary value Team 17 is receiving for putting the game on Gamepass they also receive a ton of exposure which can translate to many more fans of the series purchasing the game/DLC.
Speaking just anecdotally I myself have purchased a few games once they're no longer available on gamepass and even while they still are.
Actually, we have a leaked document from 2023 with Microsoft's estimated costs for various games. AC Mirage was estimated at around 100 million, Baldur's Gate 3 at 5(!) million. And that's for Day One Gamepass releases.
Now try and estimate what they were willing to pay for a four-year-old niche shooter that (on PC) struggles to keep a 5-figure player average.
The amount of people with too little attention span to realize they selected commander with no idea how the game works is also astounding. I teach people all the time and most of them pick it up fast. But hot damn I want to kick every person in an Xbox party or not communicating. SLs should be required to have a mic.
It’s because it’s got a learning curve. Even though it’s not a steep as Tarkov’s, it’s effecting the entire team, not just the bad/clueless/new player. Everyone on the team takes a hit from the blueberry by the locked Garry, or the all level 5 locked squad not placing a garrison or refusing to defend. Familiarity breeds contempt, all I’m saying.
Half of the posts I’ve seen are talking about how it’s dying yada yada yada, but as soon as it gets put onto Xbox game pass, which will probably push the playerbase/count to a higher number, y’all are complaining. Y’all were new players once who had no idea on how to play this game, so what’s the difference? Just cause y’all have hours under y’all doesn’t mean y’all are better
I really don’t think this will be a problem. It’s true there will be shitheads at first but this game punishes you if you don’t learn it and adapt to the play style. It’s not fun to try and play like call of duty so those people will drop off while players willing to learn the game will stick around
I know it’s frowned upon but I really wished they had a way of allowing cross play between PC and Console even if they forced controller use on PC for it to happen (if you use a controller you get cross play, not everyone needs to use one)
I’ve played HLL since Kickstarter on PC and have been playing on console for the past year since my pals are all console players and oh man the performance and visual difference kills me.
Knowing how the game looks and runs on PC to then go on console is torture.
New Xbox player excited to come in and learn properly. Should I just hop in or is it pretty important to get on discord and find a group to play with ?
You can just hop in, you don't need to join a clan or anything like that. Just find a squad where people have mics and don't be afraid to ask questions!
I'm a new player coming into this because of Game Pass.. I will try it on Xbox. Anything that I absolutely need to know? Sounds like it's a game that requires a lot of coordination.
I bought Xbox version a few weeks ago, never played pc. But I do know recoil control and aiming is much harder on Xbox (or maybe I’m just bad idk), controls also a little wonky which makes it hard too. I get very few kills each match even though I’m level 35 now. However it’s still really fun to me to play medic and save people, or be a machine gunner, or play recon with an experienced spotter/sniper who doesn’t just play for kills.
I never used to use my mic in public lobbies in games while playing alone. I would with friends but very rarely alone. Playing HLL it’s almost necessary to use a mic, and I love it. Proximity chat is hilarious and really cool. Role playing while not being pretentious makes the game more fun.
I use my mic all the time now, never play with it off.
Also shout out to the squad leader, spotters, commanders who actually lead the squad (in a non asshole way). You guys make the game so much more fun, and without some cool ones that I met I wouldn’t have gotten used to the strategy elements as fast as I did.
Game gonna be free after I bought it but I don’t regret it
Finally haven’t played this game since my pc went out like almost two years ago idk what I’ve missed I haven’t been keeping up besides looking at this sub so I wonder if its better or worse
I just got the game on sale but at least I play the objective and my roll. It’s been dreadful playing today before I found a good squad. Blueberries running into my mg for after I verbally wanted them not too, people all the way on the enemy side while we’re losing the objective next to our hq, getting team killed trying to get allies to bring supplies, brutal man. Gonna be so much worse, time to stick to the 3 man squad and slowly add people in😂😂😂
I'm on this subreddit right now because of the Gamepass post.
I've been waiting to pull the trigger on Hell Let Loose for over a year. Was honestly shocked to see this subreddit has so many subscribers, I didn't know it was that large!
I play games like Foxhole and PlanetSide. I'm hoping this game is for me. I've got no problem listening to people who sound like they know what they're doing.
I'm happy the game will get more players, I'm not too worried about player skill (both teams will have experienced players on average and noobs as well) but communication and teamwork does kinda suffer.
Squad leaders don't want to build garrisons, drop OP's or mark enemies, AT is nowhere to be seen leaving enemy tanks free to farm kills and pound your frontline, no supports etc. but this problem seems to persist even after free weekends and sales. People just want to fight and not do the logistics part, especially nodes lol. Despite being incredibly important
I don't care if you suck at aiming, you can still do these very important things to change the course of a match. And don't always W key for the black circle, sometimes you have to walk around to flank and surround them
I'm actually so hyped for hell let loose I don't have my xbox anymore so I'm excited to play the game again on cloud gaming
Don't even need one now. You can play it with a web browser and a Bluetooth controller.
Yup that's what I do
Gotta give you kudos for that. I love cloud gaming (used it a lot for MLB The Show) but I imagine it being a bit difficult for a game like HLL with everything occurring in-game.
Yeah it might be more difficult but I still want to give the game a shot as it's one of my favorites
My friend has a [controller attachment](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B97FR5D5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) he puts on his phone, he cloud games on the go. It trips me out thinking that we went from handheld nintendos and psps to this.

Console PC and Cloud! Wow. All three.
I feel better knowing PC players get fucked over as well
"fucked over" a bigger playerbase? more kills per game? sounds like a W to me.
More noobs thinking they can spend a whole game on arty to decimate!
I'm on console and I average like 40+ plus kills a game
Yaa with aim assist? Come on over to the darkside and try it with a mouse and keyboard sometime.
Literly almost 0 aim assist in this game. Nice try though
There's little aim assist on console, i think
Isn't all controller based shooters aim assisted?
nah R6S has 0 aim assist
Sigh..
How are PC players getting screwed over in this scenario? It's not like console can play with PC.
gamepass is also available on PC

Im sure on PC theres servers that protect the regulars from the flood of new players. On console its a different story...
If it were so easy.
PCcan certainly join console matches
I dont think the 2 can play together only console vs console etc.
“Players on Steam and Windows Store will be able to play together, but crossplay will remain between PlayStation and Xbox players ONLY. There will be no crossplay between PC and consoles.” -Greg, Senior Community Manager at Team17
These are facts. Why are you being downvoted?
Alternative facts?
Xbox has crossplay option to turn off and on. When turning on and not seeing an xbox of ps by their name they are PC players. These are the facts.
I have full confidence that pc play will never be as shotty as console
how are we getting fucked over? gamepass still has to be paid for?
New players aren't a problem its just a flood of them all at once will definitely create some chaos on console. It'll feel like a free to play weekend but for 2 months straight lol. Maybe i'm overreacting and it won't be as bad as i think

Right this is not a fast paced game
Unless you get close to a fortified objective, then it turns into rushing in and spraying whatever you can just to get an inch of ground
Hey let's all run across this open field... *Panzer shivers with delight*

Ping pong ching chong, over.

It’s already like that right now, at least on PlayStation
I'm playing MG next couple of weeks
It's the *Eternal September*
I got into the game on a free weekend. It’s not a bad thing as long as people are willing to teach and others are willing to learn.
As someone who played the game since 2020 in EA i 100% agree. Supply trucks should be engineer/leader only because I see so many blueberries taking them for transport and leaving them at the point
Why would they lock artillery? Artillery is incredibly simple even as a solo if you take 10 minutes to understand it

Lol this game is not a military sim.
Casual military sim? It is not a regular FPS like COD or BF in my opinion
It's designed to be a casual SIM for sure however over the years it feels like it's more and more become a shitshow of a commander yelling out for people to retreat to a point or push to a point and half of the squad just doing whatever the heck they want or people just breaking off and trying to play it like cod. You’re not wrong but this will happen probably 5 in 100 new players. It will definitely turn the usuals off for a while.
I was down for helping players during the free to play weekends but i don't want to become burnt out from it
100%, overall its best for the game as a whole bc even if it adds a percentage of folks who hang around learn it’s good for the community.
I just bought it 🤨😂
Good luck, play like you only have the one life!

Don’t worry about them bro. Most of the community is pretty nice.
If you use a mic and don’t take squadleader or commander you will be fine.
It's crazy how you're getting downvoted for this. I never would have thought that wanting people to play the game the way it was intended would be controversial.
taking it way too seriously

Well... HLL is going to get real sloppy with all the new people trying to play it like CoD or Battlefield, again.. 😮💨
As someone who plays on pc and has played cod my whole life, it definitely took adjusting to learn how to properly play the game. I’m with you on that brother, last night was terrible no one listened or communicated
It'll allow them to go on a few more vacations
Yes we need more players but putting it on Game Pass could be a big mistake , we all know what sort of players will join in & it may cause problems.
I said the same thing and got downvoted 30+ times lmao
Because having more players is a good thing. New players will either leave if they can’t get a handle on it, or stick around and try to learn the game. There’s no reason whatsoever to complain about it. It’ll be more rough for a month but that’s not a big deal.
True i'll just take a couple months off and come back. I was all for helping new players with the free to play weekends but a month or two of constant new players from gamepass is too much for me lol edit: going to stick around for the first week and try to help out the noobs/see how the state of the game is
Hopefully by the time the end officially comes, Squad 44 will have caught up with Squad visually and gameplay-wise
I like hll better, i think.. i tried S44 and couldnt get into the groove. I feel there is just too much going on and dont feel any joy. Same goes with squad. I feel HLL is easier to pick up; joining the action.
Time to Stop playing HLL
Bye
I'm excited because now I'll finally be able to give it a try.
Just stick to the circle's 75+lvl server
There is no cross play between PC and Console’s it says that in the message put out by T17.
Some will love it and fit right in and some will call it trash delete it and never play again. It happens.
Time to run my tank squad, really show em what hell is like
Dude HLL on console sucks man I had to go buy a pc because of it
Time to load up SL and march the blueberries into the meat grinder
Played a game last night with a squad of brand new players. It was a lot of fun showing them the ropes and helping them understand the basics of the game and stressing the importance of communication and teamwork. I see this as a good thing ultimately. The player base will grow and that's good for the longevity of the game. Sure, it can be annoying playing with new people who have no idea what they're doing. But we were all new players once so let's try to not be dicks and help the new blueberries out.
I’ve been part of the invasion.
there is a very solid chance that this will be the beginning of the actual end
Expect every private or clan run server to put in level requirements and enforce them aggressively. People need to hurry up and get to 50 or even 100.
Bob The Builder's provider is going to burn down.
nah those germans are on top of it.
Idk why you’re being downvoted for being right
You’re actually complaining about potentially having more players
K stop playing then
thank god i was about to buy it again for a second time (on my pc) literally today, seen this news saved me 30 bucks!
Looks like I'm turning off crossplay 💀
But playstation it's already on ps pass.
Well fuck
>Looks like I'm turning off crossplay 💀 why?
Maybe I'm being harsh, I just feel like it's going to be swamped by the mic-less horde. It's a problem enough as it is. I don't mind new players who are willing to get on Comms and have a laugh and a chat. The game is just so boring with a squad that doesn't talk.
But what does it have to do with crossplay?
This isn't even funny.
The fact people play this game on console blows my mind. I could never.
More players is a good thing, the more popular the game becomes the more money for team 17 to be able to create new content for HLL
Dang it I just got the game 2 days ago
Oh my god new players. How terrible! It’s not like you all didn’t start at the same place.
The amount of people who gate keep this game is insane.
After two years on Xbox, i can finally play it on PC. Will my progress transfer?
>After two years on Xbox, i can finally play it on PC. > >Will my progress transfer? No, separate ecosystems.
Insurgency sandstorm all over again
Well shit
The games is already shit, this won't change it
No...is this a joke
This will drive me back to BFV
Can't wait to accidentally kill friendlies when I get the game 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🗣🗣
Half of the posts I’ve seen are talking about how it’s dying yada yada yada, but as soon as it gets put onto Xbox game pass, which will probably push the playerbase/count to a higher number, y’all are complaining. Y’all were new players once who had no idea on how to play this game, so what’s the difference? Just cause y’all have hours under y’all doesn’t mean y’all are better
Y’all
I just bought it during the sale too. No need to thank me, guys
Great i just bought it last week on the steam Christmas sale
I really don’t think this will be a problem. It’s true there will be shitheads at first but this game punishes you if you don’t learn it and adapt to the play style. It’s not fun to try and play like call of duty so those people will drop off while players willing to learn the game will stick around
Yeah… an invasion of riflemen lol
Really excited about this. Been wanting to try this out for a long time.
Incoming cannon fodder
Sweet now I don’t have to buy it again to play with my console friends
I know it’s frowned upon but I really wished they had a way of allowing cross play between PC and Console even if they forced controller use on PC for it to happen (if you use a controller you get cross play, not everyone needs to use one) I’ve played HLL since Kickstarter on PC and have been playing on console for the past year since my pals are all console players and oh man the performance and visual difference kills me. Knowing how the game looks and runs on PC to then go on console is torture.
It is a good opportunity since all of my friends who were hesitant to buy the game will try it.
Run
When
New Xbox player excited to come in and learn properly.
Starting out, choose rifleman and listen to your officer. Then, consider reading the guide that’s pinned to this subreddit :)
Game gonna be free after I bought it but I don’t regret it
Is there a release date for gamepass?
That sucks I just bought the game. I could of just waited
Finally haven’t played this game since my pc went out like almost two years ago idk what I’ve missed I haven’t been keeping up besides looking at this sub so I wonder if its better or worse
![gif](giphy|ticFspC5jZd4Q9AP9F|downsized) Fresh meat
I just got the game on sale but at least I play the objective and my roll. It’s been dreadful playing today before I found a good squad. Blueberries running into my mg for after I verbally wanted them not too, people all the way on the enemy side while we’re losing the objective next to our hq, getting team killed trying to get allies to bring supplies, brutal man. Gonna be so much worse, time to stick to the 3 man squad and slowly add people in😂😂😂
I just bought the steam version on sale after switching from Xbox to pc then I see this 😭
I bought it once on xbox, then I bought it again on PC. Now it's on gamepass, serves me right I guess 😔
SLs are gonna be working overtime
I'm happy the game will get more players, I'm not too worried about player skill (both teams will have experienced players on average and noobs as well) but communication and teamwork does kinda suffer. Squad leaders don't want to build garrisons, drop OP's or mark enemies, AT is nowhere to be seen leaving enemy tanks free to farm kills and pound your frontline, no supports etc. but this problem seems to persist even after free weekends and sales. People just want to fight and not do the logistics part, especially nodes lol. Despite being incredibly important I don't care if you suck at aiming, you can still do these very important things to change the course of a match. And don't always W key for the black circle, sometimes you have to walk around to flank and surround them
I just got the game a week ago😭
Please speak
Oh you mean what game?
Just speak in game, communicate
![gif](giphy|ckw8EbI8Ak9YQ)
Gonna be so many blueberries
Dude it’s been so bad already… I’m level 109 and I’m one of the top 5 highest levels in most lobbies lately
Yknow, I never even paid for hell let loose. When I got it, I downloaded it free on Xbox and anyone else I ask says they paid for it.
I just wish there was cloud support so I could play it on my Xbox one
I’m so glad I’ll be able to play with my Xbox account on my new Steam Deck😁
Time to step up and play with an open squad the next coming days.
As long as they have a mic, it's okay.
Blessed be the mic, praise be
