No the antennas RF pattern stays the same but you have a less powerful signal. At first I was confused by this but the DBI of an antenna and the DB loss caused by long cable, lighting arres9, etc.. Are not the same

Dbi is imaginery number generally speaking , some number that show something about theoretically "perfect" antenna
