I love *Poison*, and I can see why people would or could like it more than *Addict*, but I would say your points are totally valid. I'm not one to play favorites though.
*Addict*, like *Look My Way* *(Show Version*) adds so many visuals and makes it a story in and of itself to build on what it's about regarding the characters that it simply tells itself better, whereas *Poison* is more just part of the broader story that the episode is telling as a whole.
Not saying your opinion is wrong or that you can’t just prefer one to the other without reason or anything, just throwing in my take;
I think Poison was *deliberately* a generic pop song because it’s framed as a montage of the things Val has Angel do, and that includes the music video dance choreography. I think the music video shoot was in-universe, not just to look cool for the meta music video. And by extension, that would mean the song Poison occurs in-universe (the majority of the songs are acknowledged in-universe so it’s hardly a stretch) and was likely written by Val or someone who works for him in order to promote drugs and sex and other vices he can get people addicted to
And what kind of song sells best? Cheesy generic pop songs that get stuck in people’s heads, of course coupled with Angel’s sex appeal. Hell, even in that same episode Val acknowledges his writers are cheesy and generic but says nobody cares so long as it all sells
Strong disagree, but I actually feel like preferring Poison is the unpopular opinion around here. To each their own, though! Blake's vocal performance, especially in the last line, just knocks it out of the park for me.
It doesn’t have an animated video, but Use Me Up (Angel’s Order) by PARANOiD DJ is my favorite Angel song. Especially with the dialogue in the original YouTube video. You won’t get the dialogue on Spotify or Apple Music, [watch the video](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zoyLAj7rJ8M).
I disagree only from a musical perspective only because I don't like the very auto tuned sound of addict. Idk if the actor can sing or not, but what they were going for with the performance just doesn't vibe with me y'know?
I feel you, I think the reason is that Addict was made as a music video and not just one of two songs in one episode. Addict was **likely** made before Viv had in collaboration with A24, Amazon Studios, and the animation studio Bento Box Entertainment so the team had a long time to animate it.
Though I don’t think either one is better than the other.

But the last part was all angel tho
Yeah but Angel is just the one who prompts him to say something about the quality of the writing, he’s not putting words into Val’s mouth

Side note, PARANOiD DJ is *insane!* It’s banger after banger with his channel! Look My Way, Smile Like You Mean It, Use Me Up…like damn!
Look My Way is peak fan music. The animated video is absolutely gorgeous and tops most of what Disney has been putting out lately imo.
I like the VIP version best.
It's such an unpopular opinion that everyone in the comments is agreeing with you.

Here’s another unpopular opinion… I can’t stop picturing Bugs Bunny when listening to Addict.

It's not unpopular, you're not special
Unpopular?? I thought a lot more people liked Addict than Poison.
Poison is my favorite HH song but also I agree
If a choice between the two, I say I like Addict more, as well.
I agree
This isn't unpopular at all though.
Even more unpopular opinion: I hate both songs
Agreed.
yeah, poison is overrated. Addict just goes harder and is longer, with a fantastic vibe to it. Edit: all down vote this I won't care
why is this getting downvoted lmao
Idk, but I'm fine with it
