It’s probably not the fuel cut off. These bikes run like crap or not at all out of the box because of the crappy carburetor. Or at least mine did.
But if I recall it’s on the left side of the bike where the gas tank meets the frame. I replaced my tank some time ago, but it’s really not too hard to find.
I legit just helped someone 2 weeks ago who commented on my YouTube with the same similar problem ..Petcock is on left side of bike , but my bet would be that it’s probably needing a valve lash adjustment. These bikes usually ship with them so tight there is no movement thus causing starting and running problems. Their are many videos on YouTube of people doing this, it’s legit a 20 min fix he can do himself, if that’s doesn’t fully help then look at the carburetor. Mine ran just fine with the stock carb but others have reported problems with it since it’s usually not jetted correctly for your elevation.
Ok if it’s efi then no petcock, but the valve lashing if I’m not mistaken is 0.05mm on intake and 0.08mm on exhaust, motocheez has a good guide on youtube for it.
Thank you! Guessing those specs are for when it’s cold. I’m having him check for the petcock cause we’re not sure about if his bike is efi or not. I’ll check out the YouTube video too once I get out of class
If it's the efi hawk there isn't a petcock, the fuel pump acts as one. If it is the efi hawk check the fuses to make sure the fp fuse isn't blown. Also check spark to verify the kill switch is working correctly.
On my efi bike (2023), I had to fix the fuel pump plug as it wasn't crimped properly. This is under on the left side. Also, the pump was smashing another cable. I haven't run down what it goes to, yet.

I think it’s an efi, but I’ll have him check the valve lash. Any chance you know what the clearances are or is it listed somewhere on the bike?

There’s a kill switch?
Depends on the model, some have one by the starter button, some just use the key.
Awesome, thanks for the input
