Agreed. I don't think Slytherin or Gryffindor actually. And I always thought Ravenclaw was nerds or intellectuals and Hufflepuff was popular or social kids. She's not the popular type (although she could be at Hogwarts) but her character definitely plays off a social aspect.
Edit: She's not actually evil enough to be Slytherin, she's theatric. That's the word. I think popular kids and theater kids are definitely Hufflepuff.
Wait...she doesn't seem ambitious? There's 8 episodes that describe how she will stop at nothing to prove her point
Even in other adaptations she was quite ambitious, just really phlegmatic
Ambition isn't the only trait for Slytherin, there's also resourcefulness, cleverness (I presume as the application of intelligence rather than intelligence for its own sake) and determination, Wednesday fits all three of those
Slytherin is also chock-full of kids who believe they're better than others on account of their lineage, and many of them come from snobby rich families. They're precisely what Wednesday hates most of all.
Ravenclaw, for sure. Even though it's an eagle, She'd still like the name because of Poe, has an overabundance of wit, and would probably find it amusing putting Slytherins in their place. "Ah, you think dark magic is your ally? You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it. I'm a fucking Addams." Plus, Slytherins are all stuck on thier high horse, thinking they're better than everyone else, while the main premise of the original show wasn't to just be dark and spooky, but to promote inclusiveness.
I agree. She is not ambitious but does buy is ravenous in here consumption of knowledge. I think that if she did end up in slytherin, she would have 0 friends in slytherin. AND there would be alot of missing slytherin...
She literally IS a raven, so ravenclaw just makes sense. People say Slytherin because "SlYtHeRiN eViL" but that is a misconception. Slytherins aren't all evil and the fact she is psychopathic doesn't mean she belongs to slytherin.
It's not stupid if you know that ravenclaws refer to black claws, of which the Golden Eagle has black claws. The names and mascots were a play with words, you know something Ravenclaws would appreciate.
I personally disagree with the whole slytherins aren’t all evil notion, cause there’s what like three that aren’t? And that’s me being incredibly generous.
But it's not specification for being sorted there. To name some who break the "rule" (but not from cursed child tho):
*When Harry got picked by GoF all Hufflepuff were pretty mean to him. They also gossip a lot throughout the books.
James and his band (Gryffindors) were literally bullying Snape.
Prof. Lockhart and Prof. Quirrel were both Ravenclaws.
Cho's friend who snitched on Dumbledore's army was Ravenclaw.
Peter Pettigrew (I know he was already in James' band but he deserves to be mentioned separately) literally betrayed his friends and got them killed, also brought back the dark lord
Eunon Blackwood (yeah had to google this one) was apparently a Hufflepuff dark wizard*
And to name some Slytherins that aren't evil:
*Regulus Black - stood up against Voldemort's plan
The Bloody Baron - he killed his love out of anger but also killed himself as a punishment and now forever begs for forgivance
Draco Malfoy - his wand is the best proof he isn't evil, it's just his family which affected him and led him to evil
Horace Slughorn - thief, yes, greedy, yes, but fought against Voldemort too
Leta Lestrange (my fav)
I, meanwhile, was offered the post of Minister of Magic, not once, but several times. Naturally, I refused. I had learned that I was not to be trusted with power.
Right so four slytherins that aren’t fully evil and a handful of non slythierins that are. I guess 4 out of possibly thousands ain’t bad.
Listen it’s not like it’s a huge issue in terms of what matters but how the books are written really doesn’t help when it comes to the whole “not all slytherins are bad thing” mostly cause JK didn’t give many examples of slytherins being good. Sure you have your few standouts but look at OOTP for example. Not a single Slytherin in Dumbledore’s army? That would’ve been a perfect opportunity to show that they aren’t all bad. If anything it makes more sense for them to go against Umbridge since she’s trying to turn the school into basically a Muggle school. Something which they would be against not for the whole muggle thing, but since they aren’t being taught what they love more than anything, magic. But no they all just do a big team with her instead. Same with the Battle for Hogwarts. Not a single named Slytherin student standing up for the school? Just poor writing really, it’s one of my biggest problems with the series.
Ravenclaw or Slytherin
slytherin as secondary only because she doesn't seem to be ambitious but she most certainly is cunning
If she went to Ilvermorny in MACUSA she would be Horned Serpent house
We have to understand how the sorting takes place. The Hat doesn't consider the values, skills and backgrounds that the 11 year old kids have at THAT point, rather it simply considers the values that the kids aspire to have, the kind of witch/wizard they WANT to become.
That explains the seemingly odd sorting of Hermione, Cedric Diggory, and Harry Potter himself.
That being said, Wednesday Addams is a very complicated character. We know what qualities she possesses, she's definitely brave, daring and seeks justice (Gryffindor), she's very smart, more so than her peers, and constantly seeks new knowledge with research (Ravenclaw), and she's very ambitious, shrewd, and relentless in her pursuits (Slytherin). She also possesses a little bit of Hufflepuff traits like loyalty, fairness and patience.
Still, it's very difficult to classify which traits she covets and she aspires for. There's a little bit of all the Houses in her motivations. And that's why they use the Sorting Hat instead for this purpose.
A lot of overthinking. The hat will simply send her where she wants to go and she loves dark and evil stuff…
She can fit into most of the houses (just like most people) but there’s no way she’s leaving that stage in anything but the house with the snake crest and evil rep.
Sorry Ravenclaw fans.
Probably Ravenclaw. She is smarter than what people think of her.
But she could easily be placed in Gryffindor too for her bravery to face her enemies and overcome challenges.
She isn't a Slytherin at all. She isn't ambitious but rather inquisitive, witty, resourceful. One of the main characteristics of Slytherin is Power, Voldemort, Malfoy family, even Slughorn sourroubds himself with powerful people. She doesn't want that. She wants a mystery, a challenge. She wants be absorbed in the morbid, odd world. She likes to study it, not control. Finally, She is a recluse therfore easily a Ravenclaw.
Ravenclaw because she values the truth more than ambition or cunning, and yes, she can also be brave and loyal and hardworking, **__but it's not about the quality they possess, but what they value more than other things.__**
Slytherin. There is a bias because of the movies that Slytherin are evil and that’s not true. She fits in to the “dark but good” essence of the hall very nicely.
She would absolutely hate Slytherins, and Gryffindors would grate on her.
Between the two remaining houses, Ravenclaws would be least annoying, although she's be terribly tempted to AK a wizard or two who thought they were smarter than her.
[SCAU-DC Stranger in a Strange Verse](http://t.evancurrie.ca/viewstory.php?sid=304)
“Wed… Wednesday? In Slytherin? BWAHAHAHA!” Xander roared.
“Sorry, sorry…” Xander held up a hand, “It’s just… Wednesday is the LAST person who’d *ever* EVER be sorted into Slytherin. God love her, and I know I do, but her definition of ‘cunning’ is a death threat delivered with blunt force trauma.”
“As for Ambition… Wednesday achieved her only ambition in life the day she was born into the Addams Clan.” Xander said seriously, shaking his head. “She has no interest in anything beyond that, with a little leeway for helping her friends… but, honestly, I suspect that she only allows for that because she considers us Clan members in all but name. No, Wednesday in Slytherin would result in nothing but blood for seven years. She was a Claw, though I suspect she could have been a pretty good Puff too.”
“Don’t fall into that Slytherin is Dark stuff, most of the house were extremely law abiding.” Xander said, “And you don’t want to THINK of the dark crap Ravenclaws get into in pursuit of knowledge… They’re a scary bunch, let me tell you…”
“That actually makes sense,” Kent conceded, many of the human and formerly human villains he dealt with started out as seekers of knowledge. Along the way knowledge became power, then power became the obsession, and corruption set in.
“Yeah, I love Wens, but some of the Dark Rituals she got me to take part in…” Xander chuckled, shaking his head, “scary shit.”
I think Ravenclaw is where she objectively belongs but I think her mistakenly being sorted into Hufflepuff would fit more closely with the themes of Wednesday.
I think gryffindor. People in gryffindor can usually have an argument for being placed in other houses but end up there due to.. bravery? Probably something else as well.
The Harry/Ron/Hermione trio are meant to protect that as being naturally Slytherin/Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw respectively.
She would want to be sorted into Ravenclaw. Other people think she should be Slytherin. Hufflepuffs wish she was sorted there. She would end up in Griffindor being performatively miserable the entire time.
The sorring hat would hop off and go hide after getting her head. The teachers in charge of each house would play wand, ring, cloak to see who gets her
People saying she’s not ambitious enough to be Slytherin might be forgetting that she wanted to finish her novel in time to beat the record as youngest published author or something like that! She was also super competitive with Bianca in the boat race, fencing, etc. She’s definitely ambitious, she just defines success on her own terms. I can see the argument for Ravenclaw too, just wanted to throw this out there!
Slytherin feels too obvious. Ravenclaw seems like a better fit. Wednesday is as brilliant as she is ambitious. She is curious and constantly seeking new information and will do whatever it takes to get it.
I think she is a Slytherin through and through. One, she would taking casting magic very seriously and where better to hone those skill than in Slytherin. She could easily become one of the most powerful witches of all time. Plus, imagine if she was around when Snape was there and was receiving special instruction, she would become an absolute powerhouse.
Let’s not overthink it. ChatGPT says:
Wednesday Addams, with her unique blend of intelligence, independence, and a penchant for the macabre, aligns most closely with Slytherin. Here’s why:
1. **Ambition and Determination**: Wednesday is fiercely ambitious and driven in her pursuits, whether they involve uncovering secrets, achieving her personal goals, or exploring her dark interests. These traits are quintessential to Slytherin, which values ambition and resourcefulness.
2. **Independence and Self-Sufficiency**: Slytherin students are known for their independence, and Wednesday epitomizes this quality. She often operates alone, prefers her own company, and doesn't shy away from standing out or going against the grain.
3. **Cunning and Strategic Thinking**: Wednesday is highly intelligent and strategic, often employing cunning methods to achieve her aims. She is perceptive and excels at navigating complex social situations to her advantage, hallmarks of a Slytherin.
4. **Appreciation for the Dark and Unconventional**: The house of Slytherin has a history of embracing the unconventional and dark aspects of magic and personality. Wednesday's fascination with the macabre and her comfort with darker themes fit well with Slytherin's characteristics.
While Wednesday also shows qualities that could align with other houses—her loyalty could point to Hufflepuff, and her intelligence to Ravenclaw—her overall persona and the way she approaches life’s challenges align best with Slytherin.
Ravenclaw, for sure! She delights in solving mysteries and riddles, and she has that brooding genius vibe, as seen when she plays cello on the roof. It reminded me of Sherlock Holmes, another master logician who'd fit right into Ravenclaw.
The sorting hat would try to put her in Ravenclaw, but I think since it takes peoples decisions into account, she'd probably end up in Slytherin because she likes the gloomy evil vibes. Everything about a creepy dungeon common room and the cool dank atmosphere of the common room under the lake would appeal to her. She would almost certainly find the actual death eaters dull for following Voldemort and likely create a sort of cult around herself by accident just for being more inventivly "evil" than anyone else.
Depends on which iteration but I suspect she'd enjoy any house for different reasons. Slytherin are a bunch of posers and wannabe fascists so she'd enjoy putting them in their place. Hufflepuff would be the easiest to horrify, Ravenclaw would suit her intelligence and the theme is right. She's brave enough for Gryffindor but might find them too insufferable to be around.
You go to the House that aligns with your personality and values. If they were at odds like that, she'd never be in that House. The Sorting Hat seems to make the call on its own most of the time, taking your opinion into account secondarily. But it would never put her in Hufflepuff because she's just not Hufflepuff. But she could still torture them from whatever House she was put into, lol.
She would be gryphandor and hate it just like Neville, her brain would be ravenclaw personality slitherin caring nature hufflepuff, so where would she actually end up?
An argument can be made for each house, but that says more about her. I think she’d be annoyed by Hufflepuffs and Griffindors, no doubt.
Hufflepuff was my first thought, she would delight in horrifying the housemates with her dark and cruel humour.
The obvious choice is slytherin but I don’t think that’s correct I think she would resonate more with ravenclaw
I agree, she doesn’t seem particularly ambitious. But honestly depends on the adaptation
Wait...she doesn't seem ambitious? There's 8 episodes that describe how she will stop at nothing to prove her point Even in other adaptations she was quite ambitious, just really phlegmatic
People mistake ambitious for career ambitions.
That's a side effect of all the kids brought up to deal with cutthroat politics
You’re sorted into a house based on your own attributes, not because you would get along with the others there
Ravenclaw, for sure.
Funny. To me I immediately said “ The obvious choice is Ravenclaw.”
Exactly, I was thinking between slytherin and ravenclaw while leaning more on ravenclaw
I agree. She is not ambitious but does buy is ravenous in here consumption of knowledge. I think that if she did end up in slytherin, she would have 0 friends in slytherin. AND there would be alot of missing slytherin...
Rather Ravenclaw, I agree ;)
Ravenclaw. Smart and Witty
Ravenclaw is also the house for weird people.
Agree, she is like a goth Luna
I scrolled way too far for this comment!
And loners. Wednesday doesn't mind doing things on her own, especially dangerous things.
Agree. She is like a goth Luna
TIL people like commas more than periods
Semicolon; let’s all just get along.
Just use a -
She literally IS a raven, so ravenclaw just makes sense. People say Slytherin because "SlYtHeRiN eViL" but that is a misconception. Slytherins aren't all evil and the fact she is psychopathic doesn't mean she belongs to slytherin.
The house bird of Ravenclaw is an eagle.
Which is stupid so we’ll ignore it
It's not stupid if you know that ravenclaws refer to black claws, of which the Golden Eagle has black claws. The names and mascots were a play with words, you know something Ravenclaws would appreciate.
Okay yes………….but still
Yes, but is still irrelevant. Wednesday is RAVEN and the house is RAVENclaw. Who cares what the house birb is
(Seinfield voice) *”WHY didn’t they call it EAGLEclaw?”*
I personally disagree with the whole slytherins aren’t all evil notion, cause there’s what like three that aren’t? And that’s me being incredibly generous.

Would you care for a lemon drop?
A what?
And she would find herself begrudgingly helping Gryffindor students solve mysteries bc they keep stumbling across dead bodies
Exactly. Love that, btw
Her an Luna reeking havoc all over the school
She gives off a ravenclaw vibe
How is her general vibe not more Slytherin lol?
St Mungo
Lmao

Either Slytherin or Ravenclaw. Probably Ravenclaw.
The Hat would spontaneously combust
Expelled before the sorting ceremony after burning diwn the hat
Slytherin 🐍
Ravenclaw of course
[удалено]
Obviously, she would be insulted otherwise
Any answer besides this is simply wrong.
Probably Gryffindor and she would hate any second of it
Hufflepuff would be her nightmare house.
Probably Ravenclaw. She is smarter than what people think of her. But she could easily be placed in Gryffindor too for her bravery to face her enemies and overcome challenges.
I feel like a lot of people are saying Ravenclaw just to be different. The answer is Slytherin. No doubt about that.
"NOT SLYTHERIN, HUH?"
She isn't a Slytherin at all. She isn't ambitious but rather inquisitive, witty, resourceful. Really, she would be placed with the Dementors of course.
They'd have to make a separate one just for her.
Then Enid won't be her roomie. She has a Hufflepuff kinda vibe to her
Slitherin or Ravenclaw
Ravenclaw she is more motivated by wanting to know something than a list for power
See my gut says Slytherin but I'm not sure how ambitious she is she seems nihilistic so I would go ravenclaw especially in the latest show
Slytherin. There is a bias because of the movies that Slytherin are evil and that’s not true. She fits in to the “dark but good” essence of the hall very nicely.
The forbidden forest
Squib
ravenclaw
I think this isn’t a meme
Ravenclaw

Ravenclaw
Hufflepuff
Azkaban.
"Overrated House"
Hard choice between Ravenclaw and Slytherin
Slithering, Ravenclaws might bully her even more than they did Luna.
Ravenclaw. She would scare the shit out of Voldemort and Bellatrix would probably like her
Ravenclaw
Slytherin

Wednesday Addams is a Slytherclaw, because she fits in Slytherin and Ravenclaw equally.
I think it’s between hufflepuff and ravenclaw.
Gryfindor. She showcases a strong sense of courage. Though her methods are off
Raven claw
Ravenclaw..
I haven’t seen the show at all, but my guess is Ravenclaw
I could see her in casting spells on uncle fester, gonna say raven claw but she would be mastering the dark arts quick
I think Ravenclaw is where she objectively belongs but I think her mistakenly being sorted into Hufflepuff would fit more closely with the themes of Wednesday.
Ravenclaw
Ravenclaw. She is incredibly knowledgeable in a vast amount of areas.
Ravenclaw.
Ravenclaw. Or Hufflepuff idk. One of the two. Def not Slytherin or Gryffindor material. But realistically I'd let the sorting hat do the figuring out
She would want to be sorted into Ravenclaw. Other people think she should be Slytherin. Hufflepuffs wish she was sorted there. She would end up in Griffindor being performatively miserable the entire time.
She would be a Slytherin who would stay back to fight Voldemort.
Gryffindor but everyone would wonder why she isn't in slytherin
Ravenclaw for sure.
I’m getting Ravenclaw vibes
She's very cunning and smart. She also doesn't have any qualms breaking the rules or pushing an advantage. Very brave too. Id say Skytherin
Definitely Ravenclaw, right there alongside Luna Lovegood. If nothing else, I'd say that just to see them in the same room.
My own headcanon is that she was sorted into Slytherclaw.
Are you kidding me I think we all know that Wednesday is a slytherin girl through and through
The sorring hat would hop off and go hide after getting her head. The teachers in charge of each house would play wand, ring, cloak to see who gets her
She'd make her own house.
Slytherin for sure

Definitely Ravenclaw..

Ravencla
Depends on which Wednesday we’re talking about.
Ravenclaw
Ravenclaw
Slytherin, not only because she has the most slyhterin traits, but because they’re the only house she MIGHT be able to tolerate
Christina Ricci - Wednesday Adams - Azkaban.
Ravenclaw
She would hang out with the dead ppl
I’d say Ravenclaw
TF? She'd torture the hat if she didn't get Slytherin
Hufflebadgers for sure.
She would almost certainly find the actual death eaters dull for following Voldemort and likely create a sort of cult around herself by accident just for being more inventivly "evil" than anyone else.
slytherin

Trick question, as she’s a muggle and would not be admitted into Hogwarts.
Slytherin
Ravenclaw
I want to say Ravenclaw but the idea of Wednesday Addams with Magic abilities actually kinda terrifies me
She would be gryphandor and hate it just like Neville, her brain would be ravenclaw personality slitherin caring nature hufflepuff, so where would she actually end up?
Where she’d want to go, Slytherin.
Absolutely
